I was waiting for someone to take my hand.

I was waiting for Shaw Mercer.

  ~ THE END ~

  Babbles…

I know what you’re thinking. I already know what will show up repetitively in reviews. Willow, for the love of Christ, what is wrong with you? JUST TELL SHAW YOU LOVE HIM ALREADY! Tell him about your sister. Vomit every single thing inside you because it’s rotting there! You could have avoided all this drama!

I felt your frustration, believe me. But I also get where Willow was coming from. I more than get it, actually.

There are those who have a hard time expressing their true emotions for whatever reason, whatever scenarios life has put them through. I am one of them. My husband likes to talk everything out. I don’t, even though I genuinely want to most times. It’s a constant frustration for him, even though he is the person I trust most in the entire world.

So if you think I’m trying to create drama for the sake of drama, I can certainly be guilty of that sometimes. But not in Willow’s case. Not how she felt or her inability to get things out that she desperately wanted to. Sometimes it’s not just as easy as opening your mouth—ask my husband.

On a side note, the Eleanor special is real. My grandma used to eat waffles that way so my husband nicknamed them Eleanor specials. To this day he, too, likes to eat waffles with jam.

Finally, I took some liberties around the drug approval portion of my story. Getting a new drug approved by the United States Federal Drug Administration is complex and drawn out. There are multiple phases and clinical trials that can take eight to ten years to wade through. As you can imagine, only a small percentage of drugs even make it to phase three clinical trials, an even smaller percentage approved. Anyway, my point is I sped up the process a bit for the sake of the story, but know I did my homework.

Thanks for sticking with me through this very long book and series (roughly 206K words in all). I happen to love long, intricate stories where we can delve several layers into the complexity of the human character, because let’s face it: not one of us is just one-faceted. A longer story allows me, as the author, to take that journey with you, so if people complain about the length, I won’t apologize. This is the story I wanted to tell and I’m beyond proud of it.

Now to my thanks. As always, thanks to Nikki Busch, my editor, for smoothing my manuscript and making me look good. Special thanks goes to my sister, Tara, and my author bud KL Grayson, who both gave me honest feedback that helped me make this the story I wanted. I hope you both now know what a sacred cow is because no one else will since I took it out! (cries tears). THANK YOU for taking time out of your busy schedules to help me! Heather Roberts: I cannot express how appreciative I am of your tireless work, availability at all hours of the day or night, and your endless support of all the things. I truly think I’d have given up this writing thing by now if not for your help and guidance. Last but never least, thanks always to my husband who loves everything I do. Everything. Even my snoring. You’re my biggest fan and I love that about you, even if I don’t always tell you.

Friends, family, bloggers, authors, betas, pimpers, Kreig’s Babes, and most importantly MY READERS: if you supported me in any way, shape, or form, you know who you are and you know I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am nothing but sincerely, eternally grateful for your belief in me. Every message and e-mail I get from someone who wanted to personally reach out to me and praise me for how my work touched them in some way is truly a surreal feeling and that’s why I do this. Because you all encourage me. For that, I thank you.

For the love of God…help an author out! LEAVE A REVIEW wherever you purchased this book. Even one or two sentences or simply rating the book is helpful for other readers. Reviews are critical to getting a book exposure in this vast sea of great reads.

  About the Author

This is the hardest part…talking about myself.

I’m just a regular ol’ Midwest girl who likes Game of Thrones and is obsessed with Modern Family and The Goldbergs. I run, I eat, I run, I eat. It’s a vicious cycle. I love carbs, but there’s a love-hate relationship with my ass and thighs. Mostly hate. I like a good cocktail (oh hell…who am I kidding? I love any cocktail). I’m a huge creature of habit, but I’ll tell you I’m flexible. I read every single day and if I don’t get a chance…watch the hell out, I’m a raving bitch. My iPad and I: BFFs. I’m direct and I make no apologies for it. I swear too much. I love alternative music and in my next life, I want to be a badass female rocker. I hate, hate, hate spiders, telemarketers, liver, acne
, winter, and loose hairs that fall down my shirt (don’t ask, it’s a thing).

If you’re a stalker, the first step is to admit it. After that, you can find me in a lot of places, all of which I use with irregular frequency.
