“Oh goodness no,” she said. “But you made my day for asking.”
Chapter Four
There was a knock on the door. It was Horace.
“Miss Cadie, Miss Perri, it’s time. Preacher is in the lobby,” he said. “I have to go get Mrs. Miller now.”
He said that last part like it was a punishment. Cadie turned Perri to give herself a once over in the mirror.
“Look at that beautiful bride,” said Cadie, affectionately embracing her. “We best scoot before mama is out of her cage. I heard all about her.”
Cadie was fun. Perri really liked her. She was overcome with emotion for her kindness and how she fixed her up.
“Cadie,” she said clutching the saloon girl’s arm. “I am new here in Dodge. I can’t thank you for all you done for me,” she said. “I would be pleased if you would be my first friend here.”
“It’s a deal,” said Cadie.
The saloon girl held Perris’ train as they walked to the top of the stairs. She looked down to the lobby of the Dodge House, where her handsome Wyatt and her mother awaited them. Her mother could not keep her mouth shut.
“What in blazes have you got on your face?” she shouted. “You look like a whore!”
“It’s a good thing we didn’t set the ceremony in a church or we would be struck by lightning,” said Wyatt lightly. “Now that’s one. Hold your tongue.”
“You can do it girl,” Cadie whispered.
But there was a sinking feeling in the pit of Perri’s stomach that her mother was going to ruin this for her. Wyatt’s eyes were glued to her as she and Cadie carefully descended the steps.
“Trollop,” Myrtle muttered.
“That’s two,” said Wyatt, not breaking form.
He stood, eagerly waiting. Perri was so relieved the apparent pleasure he took in watching her. She took his hand as she was finally beside him. Myrtle stood beside Perri with a sour face. But when Cadie settled in beside Myrtle, Myrtle could not keep a lid on it.
“It’s bad enough we are not having a proper church wedding but I draw the line at having dance hall girls at the ceremony!” she cried.
Wyatt leaned across Perri so that he was face to face with his almost mother-in-law.
“This ain’t your wedding. Now you are on three. When we get to three officially, your ass is out of here. I mean out of here. I will hook you in the cross-ties at Moss Stables until me and Perri are good and married. I’m asking you if that is what you want?” he said.
Myrtle’s face was slack, white as a sheet. She said nothing for the remainder of the short ceremony.
“I now pronounce you man and wife,” said the preacher. “You may kiss the bride.”
Wyatt lifted Perri’s veil with his large, rough fingers. His face was warm and handsome. Just looking at him made her aswirl inside. He moved her. Her belly was warm liquid and there was heat between her legs. This was supposed to happen. She knew this from Cadie’s very detailed discussion. Perri let it happen.
He lowered his spectacular face to hers, steadying her jaw with his touch. He pressed his full lips to her soft ones, just grazing at first. It was enough to send sparks through her; sparks that went to her core and made her ache.
He penetrated her mouth with a firm, hot tongue. It snaked into her, sweeping the walls of her cheeks, plunging far back to the base of her tongue before entwining with it. Perri tasted him back. She eagerly explored the wet heat of his mouth. It was like a sweet furnace, for his mouth tasted vaguely of apples. They did not stop kissing until someone cleared their throat.
“That better not have been you, mother,” he murmured light-heartedly against Perri’s lips.
Perri belly-laughed. She could not control herself. Maybe she was giddy from the fact that she was now a married woman. Or it was the tough travel. Or the slow realization that she finally had an ally against her mother, and the years of abuse were done -- she was free -- that allowed Perri to boldly laugh at her mother’s expense fully, in front of her mother.
Chapter Five
“Let’s eat!” said Wyatt. “Everyone to Delmonico’s for a weddin’ supper on me!”
“I think I will retire,” said Myrtle faintly. “I have one of my headaches.”
Reflexively, Perri stepped towards. “I’ll stay with you-” she offered.
“No you will not,” said Wyatt sternly.
He was not a husband to be disobeyed.
“I am sorry you aren’t feeling well, mother. I will be happy to send your meal to you so that you can eat it in the comfort of your own bed. How does that sound? You can eat like a queen,” he said.
“I suppose,” she sulked.
“Done,” said Wyatt. “Let’s eat. And make it quick. I have a honeymoon to get to.”
Perri blushed so hard, it was almost debilitating. She could almost not see her mother having a fit over Wyatt’s bold language.
“I believe I will take my meal in my room, thank you very much,” said Myrtle in a huff.
“Well you’re welcome very much,” said Wyatt.
“And it better not be cold when it arrive,” she warned Horace.
“It will be edible,” said Wyatt. “And you leave poor Horace alone. We will have your meal send directly.”
Perri trembled. She was more than attracted to her new husband but she was completely lacking in any sort of experience. The kiss she shared at the altar with Wyatt was her first kiss and it so overloaded with pleasure she almost passed out. She wasn’t sure if she could go through with the other stuff.
But Cadie promised her she would be ready. Wyatt ordered celebratory shots of whiskey for the wedding table which consisted of Horace, Cadie, Perri and him. They ordered Myrtle’s dinner and had the same boy who delivered her bags, deliver her meal. Wyatt paid the boy who lived on the street, with dinner himself so he wouldn’t eat Myrtle’s.
The table shared a bottle of wine with dinner. Perri only had half a glass. That with the whiskey was enough to ease her nerves. Wyatt sat across the table from her, so, as he said, he could look at her.
“You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen,” he said with longing in his eyes.
Perri tried a trick that Cadie told her about. She extended her foot to Wyatt’s leg beneath the table and stroked him. She hoped like heck it was him. She gave him a telling look and he winked. It was him alright. The waiter offered them a piece of cake for their wedding dessert.
“Do you mind if we get that tomorrow night?” Wyatt asked the waiter, while reaching across the table for Perris’ hand.
“Sure thing Wyatt,” said the waiter.
“Why don’t you take our supper bill out of this, and give me the change tomorrow,” said Wyatt.
“Sure thing Wyatt,” said the waiter again.
“We’ll see you folks in a couple days. Take care of my mother in law, Horace. She’s a mean one,” he said.
Horace made a stressed face as Cadie cuddled up to him. Perri had momentarily been insecure and wondered why Wyatt didn’t marry the saloon girl. She, was an attractive woman. Perri didn’t understand why Wyatt went through the Matrimonial News instead. But she got her answer. Cadie and Horace were sweet on each other. And now Perri was a married woman and in that she felt very secure.
It was also very obvious why too Wyatt booked a room that was not next door to her mother. From what Cadie told her, things could get very loud indeed. But it was Wyatt’s hand that trembled holding hers to their door.
He kissed her again at the hotel door, as passionately, if not more than he did at the end of the wedding ceremony, before hoisting her up in his arms and carrying her across the threshold.
“My but you’re strong,” she said. “Any man who could lift me…”
He gently laid her flat on the mattress and hovered over her. Mercifully she landed just so, so that her tender backside, which hurt from time to time, was not uncomfortable. His face was so close to her, it nearly blocked out the light for her.
“You’re not big,” h
e said. “You’re a curvy little thing. But you’re not big. I am not sure where you got that idea but it’s a wrong one. You’re a delight.”
He kissed her lazily, letting his limp tongue, tickle her lips by dragging lightly across them. He let his powerful, large hand stray from its delicate hold on her jaw, down her neckline and her breasts. It was a gentle invasion. His hands slyly roamed her, touching her in places she herself had never touched.
Wyatt rolled her on her belly and unfastened the buttons to her dress. He untied the laces of her corset. Perri released a few gasps as the blood flowed back through her. It was always painful at first.
“That bad?” he asked with concern.
“I hate corsets,” she confessed. “At least the way mother ties them.”
“Wear them if and when you like, but not on my account. Not if they’re this awful. Besides,” he whispered like a wolf in her ear, “they tend to get in the way.”
He pulled back to tell her directly.
“And baby, never mention your mother again while you’re bed with me,” he winked.
He pushed the mounds of fabric from her body. She rolled onto her backside, wincing some with the dull ache that remained from the beating her mother had given her just before departing. She raised her arms so that Wyatt could remove the corset which was more like armor than underwear, from her frame.
He gazed at her, with a slightly crazed expression.
“You’re lovely,” he said. “So lovely.”
He touched her delicate white skin with his rough, calloused hands that had a wondrously secure feeling for Perri. She laid back and watched as he peeled his clothes from his upper body. His magnificent, rugged, cut-from-stone body.
Wyatt was like a mountain himself, with his broad shoulders and his arms curved with power in bulging muscles. The surface of his chest was smooth and hard. Nothing shook on him, whereas Perri was all jiggle. She saw herself as soft dough. And when he explored her body with his work-hewn hands, she felt exactly like that. He remained softly straddling her, kneading her breasts which fit so neatly in his palms.
“You’re perfect,” he said.
He trailed his leathery finger tips around her ribs which protruded slightly below her breasts. His touch was just ticklish enough and arousing enough to cause her to squeeze her legs tightly together, drawing up at her core.
He looked her in the eye with hungry gaze. It was a mischievous look that told her he was about to do something wicked and delicious. He lowered his perfectly chiseled mouth to her nipple, nearly blistering it with heat. His tongue was so wet as it suckled, rubbing her back and forth with its warm wetness.
Perri clutched his thick, lustrous locks with a passionate grip, as though she were holding on for dear life as she was tossed on a sea of arousal. Her mind wavered in and out of reality like she was drunk. When his lips found the tender space between her breasts, Perri writhed and clutched the bed.
She pushed up against him, grinding against his hardness. She felt it with her thigh. This was what Cadie had told her about. She reached between them and touched him. She was overcome with curiosity.
Wyatt rolled slightly to the side of her and guided her hand on him. He unfastened his pants so she could have direct access. She was so surprised as how soft his skin was there and yet he was so hard, so powerful. He closed her fingers around him tight and firmly, encouraging her to move up and down.
He groaned. Perri giggled. If she could as a novice could delight him so, she felt confident that she would have no problem pleasing him. She threw herself in it and let her imagination be her guide. She tried so hard to keep all the tips that Cadie gave her.
“I had a long conversation with Cadie,” she said wantonly.
She pushed him on to his back and stalked him like a cat.
“You did?” he asked playfully.
“I did,” she said.
Perri lowered her mouth on to the head of his erection, drawing her lips up tight around him. He made something of a pathetic noise but she knew it was a sign he was liking what she was doing. She held onto the base of him, and worked the wet tension of her mouth up and down on him.
“Sweet Jesus,” he cried out.
She pistoned up and down, swiveling her head, pausing to lick his rigid shaft while fondling his testicles. Wyatt just short of shoved her off of him.
“Enough,” he said through gritted teeth.
Perri was confused.
“Have I done something wrong?” she asked him.
“Oh no,” he replied. “You have done everything right. My turn.”
He gently maneuvered her as he rolled over in between her. He lifted her legs up and over his shoulders. His mouth was but a breath away from the entrance to her body. Perri shook with nerves and with anticipation as she felt his tongue delve into her.
She closed her eyes tightly and breathed through the shock and thrill of his kissing her there. He probed and licked her just as he had when he kissed her mouth. His tongue swirled within her and between the folds of her sweet flesh.
Finally he gently pinched the bud at the apex of her sex, imprisoning it as he sweetly tortured her with the endless flick of his tongue. Wyatt had her begging. She felt her pleasure climb higher and wind tight within her belly. She felt that if she were to move she would burst and if she didn’t, she would go made with need.
Wyatt did not let up. He gripped her hips as she rocked against her his mouth instinctively until she cascaded in a rapturous pool of spasms. Perri was limp against the mattress as she let the sugared tremors rippled throughout. It was heaven.
She spied on him through heavy lids as he rose above her. He reached between them and levered himself into her body. Just enough at first. She was wet and ready for him. There was a sense of pressure -- not at all as painful as Cadie described.
Wyatt buried his face into the base of her neck and pushed. Perri cried out. She felt as though she were being torn apart. She slapped is hard, broad back. He lay still, save for kissing her neck, rushing her with tingling arousal the spread throughout her.
Her body relaxed. He moved within her. Her core was sensitive from her climax that the heavy, slow stroking was almost too sweet to bear. His every movement was bliss, despite the initial pain. Each stroke caused her to cry out with delight.
Her pleasure gave him pleasure. Perri could feel his powerful, massive body stiffen and transformed as though possessed. His eyes glossed over and he seemed lost. He gripped her buttocks and drove into her with a fury.
Perri cried out again, not with pleasure but with pain. Wyatt seemed gone, unable to hear as she pleaded. He jerked into her, crying out like a warrior claiming victory. The more firmly he cupped her backside, the more she winced. As his pleasure washed over him and he came back down to earth, Wyatt was aware.
“What’s the matter?” he asked apologetically. “Are you that tender?”
“No it’s not that,” she said quietly.
“What then?” he asked.
“Your hands,” she said.
“My hands are hurting you?” he asked confused.
Still inside of her, he drew her to him and inspected her buttocks. His entire person transformed. He pulled out of her and rolled her flat onto her belly.
“By God, Esperanza! You’re black and blue,” he exclaimed. “You’ve been beaten.”
Without any more words, he drew on his trousers. It was clear to Perri he knew who was responsible.
Wyatt charged down the hall. Perri ran after him, helplessly. Between her long flowing hair and the bedding, she was completely entangled. Fear constricted her throat. She could only make choking noises.
Her mother deserved to be punished but Perri was afraid that Wyatt might kill her. And so ultimately Perri would be the one who would be punished. She didn’t want him to do something that would get him hanged. She was already deeply in love with him. And she didn’t want to be a widow any time soon.
“M-m-mother!” she finally manage
d. “Wyatt!”
Thankfully Horace emerged from his room.
“What in tarnation is going on?” he demanded.
“I want that woman out of here,” Wyatt hissed. “Get her out of here before I do something I regret.”
“Is that a threat, Mr. Jackson?” Myrtle Miller asked as through her door.
“It’s a warning,” said Wyatt. “Your days of abusing your daughter are through. Am I clear? And I am to make damn sure. I am sending you back, part and parcel to where you came from.”
“And just how am I to live? I am a widow woman. An old one at that,” she said.
“You should have thought of that before you took a cane to my bride,” he growled.
“I caned her so she would get on the coach to come to you. She didn’t want to marry,” said Myrtle with glee. “It wasn’t even her idea to marry. It was mine!”
“Well she’s fine with the idea now. It’s you she don’t like too much. And me neither,” said Wyatt. “You can say your goodbyes in the morning.”
Chapter Six
Wyatt’s powerful arm scooped Perris’ waist and guided her back into the room. He was wound up, full of passion. He kissed her without holding anything back. Gone was the docile, patient bridegroom. Wyatt was an animal yet all man.
Perri was no longer new to this. She tasted the sweetness that Cadie schooled her on and she wanted more. She wanted all that her virile mountain of a man could give her. She did her best to trust and to keep pace with him.
He enveloped her completely with his massive arms. Her arousal was like crashing waves around her. Her breath and heartbeat flooded her ears as he devoured her mouth in a fury.
His massive manhood sank into her hot wetness easily. Her core throbbed with a sweet mixture of slight pain and need. He pressed his thumb to her nub and wagged his fingers until the same rapturous pressure built within her again.
She throbbed around his luscious sexual invasion. He drove into her, back and forth, steadily, maintaining crucial pressure. Perri now knew exactly what was coming. Her insides revved up with thrill and anticipation.
“Wyatt,” she murmured.
