Still, the diabetes couldn’t have happened at a worse time, what with Hardy and me in the process of buying Your Goose Is Cooked, the restaurant we’ve been talking about for the last few months. But we’re looking forward to a new adventure as owners, and I’ll stir up some healthy things, maybe even a salad or two. Who knows? Interpreted, Doc’s diet change means losing weight, so I have great motivation to cook up some new healthy treats.
Lela is working at the boutique in Maple Gap, taking good care of Sara in her off hours. Sara’s growing weaker daily. I can’t bear to watch this baby slipping away. Her momma and I are in constant touch and I’m praying mighty hard that the Good Lord will bundle her up close to Him. I’ve never had to face losing a child and can’t imagine even touching the sharpness of that pain, but I can do what I can to help others in small ways.
Hardy and I are going to slip away to visit little Arianna in the next couple of months before we open the restaurant, since we know managing that place will be full time until we can get someone dependable to be cook and manager in our absence. Oh, and there’s those new grandbabies coming soon.
