By the time Rob and Brad got there, they found the cabin raided, their people injured and the bodies of dozens of townspeople dead on the floor with gunshot wounds. He raced to the room to find only Mila and Ashlee. The children were gone. Ashlee lay on the floor beaten and injured. Brad let Rob go and rushed to her side in horror, screaming her name.
Rob looked over to see Mila crawling on the floor near the shattered window, crying. Reba was crouched down, terrified, in the corner.
“What happened?” Rob asked, frantic.
“They swarmed in here like animals. There were so many of them, we couldn’t stop them!” she cried. “They took the children.” She sobbed as Rob cradled her. “They said that now they have something we’ll trade for.” They held each other on the bloody floor as the reality of the situation began to sink in.
Hi! I hope you enjoyed my latest series. Quality story telling is very important to me. It’s my living, and I can’t thank you enough for your support and for taking the time to read my latest series. I love dystopian, survivalist tales. And as you can see, I’m equally fascinated by prepper culture. But the learning never stops, and your feedback is vital to improving each new series I explore.

The prepper camp has been decimated. The children have been kidnapped. Dozens of bullet-ridden bodies of townspeople lie around thick, moss-covered ground. Some are even recognizable, despite their ghastly state. Morale has never been lower for Rob and his people. Arthur, the sadistic mayor of a newly-named town, has delivered a fatal blow. Rob urges, above all, retaliation against the very people who attacked them. A strategic plan is devised, but nothing can prepare the camp for the diabolical plans of Arthur and his gang of convicts. And as Rob’s group tries to rescue the children, they soon find that the children aren’t the only thing in need of saving. They must reclaim their town if humanity is ever expected to resurface. In their search of neighboring areas, they soon discover others hiding from danger and just scraping by—alone, destitute, and helpless. If there is any chance at taking their town back, they need to enlist the aid of others. It’s their only hope.
