“I’ve never had a bad hair day.”
“So you won’t notice anything’s changed.”
“Well, one thing is going to have to change.”
“What’s that?”
“The name of your TV show.”
She’d taken ESPN up on their offer, and what started as an occasional appearance on a late-night talk show had morphed into her own weekly program. She now got paid to talk about sports, with as many smart-ass comments as she could pack into a half-hour segment, to a small, likely drunk, middle-of-the-night audience. It was the perfect gig for her.
“‘Dirty Play with Haven Callahan’ isn’t going to cut it anymore,” he said. “What do you think about ‘Dirty Play with Haven Nolan’? Or ‘Dirty Play with Haven Callahan Nolan,’ if that’s your thing?”
She slipped her arms around his neck. “You are my thing, Jack. Only you.”
