Kelsey swallowed her bite of kale salad and responded, “Before I came here tonight, I tried to convince myself that I could move forward happy with the lesson I learned from our failed relationship. But I don’t think I can do that now.”

Michael laughed, “I’m sorry. What you said was serious, but your entire front tooth is covered in a kale leaf, can’t you feel that?”

Kelsey laughed with him and, as their chuckling died down, she heard Amanda’s voice in her ear, “Never let go of friends who tell you when there’s spinach in your teeth.” She looked up at Michael’s smiling face and asked. “So now that we’re both more mature, can we try this again?”

Michael nodded, “I still want you, Kelsey. I will always want you.”

  Chapter 39

Amanda was more nervous than she had any right to be. Kelsey and Michael were supposed to meet at six for dinner and it was already past midnight. The girls were asleep and the dinner mess was cleaned up. Amanda had finished scribbling questions and notes in the margins of Kelsey’s second novel and there was nothing left to do. She swore to herself that she wasn’t going to be the first one to text, but Kelsey’d also sworn she’d send her a follow up. After all, it was under threat of death. Am I going to die of suspense? Amanda honestly wondered if it would come to that. She paced the floor, she put the dishes away, she soaked in the hot tub for a little bit and finally her phone beeped.

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath as she looked at the text from Kelsey.

  One word.

  “Yes!”

  From the Author:

I hope you enjoyed Hunger. If you haven't read the free prequel yet, please check it out. I had so much fun writing about Kelsey's marriage with Brian. It was quite a challenge to find a happily ever after moment but I managed to do it and sort of fell in love with the story. I hope you do, too.

The next book I'm working on is Dirty Bosses: Virgin Twin Stepbrother Billionaires. In this story, Kendra discovers that her mother has married a billionaire and goes home to meet his sons who just graduated from a military boarding school. When the patriarch of the family dies, she and her new brothers must run the family business together, and figure out who is sabotaging the company. I had a blast plotting this story and I can't wait to finish writing it.

As always, please leave me a review or contact me with any feedback you may have about my stories. I love hearing ideas and suggestions for future books and really love the feedback.

  XXXOOO

  Jane ;)
