“Shh. Please, stay positive. I feel what you feel for me … and when we win the war—because we’re fucking winning—we will show each other our love.” I leaned in, puckering my lips as his crashed onto mine. I swayed with delight when his claws threaded my waist as he tightly hugged me. Our lips failed to part, as if … if we had let go … then we would have never joined again. Tears filled my eyes, but I refused to let them fall.

We’d win the war, and I’d never fear losing Thadeus—ever again.

With the energy of over one-hundred demons, we stood strong in Croatia as we managed to open a portal to hell. A humming noise rattled as waves of crimson vibrated while we marched through the opening. My heart raced because we’d been unaware of what or who awaited us inside hell. Thad silently directed us to a safe area where thousands of guards awaited us.

“Yol, it is an honor to battle at your side.” Thadeus stepped forward and shook the massive hand of a giant who towered above all the other demons.

“The honor is mine, my Lord.” The giant nodded his head with gratitude until Thad and I stepped away.

I followed my beloved, but stopped as we approached a high mound of solid lava rock. Next to a blazing fire pit, the guards huddled while tortured souls screamed in the distance.

“We are here to defend our sector of hell. Alora can try to defeat us, but we will fight until we have nothing left to give.” Thadeus shot his fist in the air, just as a sword flew to his hand. He firmly gripped the handle while the shaft gleamed under a fire pit’s glow.

I stood proud, next to my man: the lord of hell’s southern sector. An elated smirk slid across my lips while the crowd of amped demons cheered on their commander who boosted their moral.

After Thadeus peaked the crowd’s energy, he grasped my hand and led me to the center of his army.

“We will not wait for her strike; we will seek and destroy those who dare threaten us.” My beloved’s grip tightened while his following roared with a blood-hungry thirst.

Once the pep rally had sizzled out, various demons distributed bows and arrows, maces, swords, and staffs. Thousands of weapon-yielding demons marched behind us as we left our sector. I had no clue where the battle would take place. Pride rang throughout me as I observed Thad’s self-assured stance; his dragon tale cracked at the air, as if to send a warning to those who dared fuck with us.

We marched for what felt like hours, until we reached a dune-filled area. Hell’s scream-filled symphony increased while fire pits blazed with a wild fury.

“There they are,” a female demon called from behind us.

I searched until I found … on the other side of a fire-less crater, a small huddle of demons. As they drew near, I noticed a face that resembled Panora’s. What I assumed would be an army twice our size, had resulted in a few hundred demons.

Alora held her arms out wide, halting her miniscule fleet; then she stepped forward into the crater while six guards surrounded her. Thadeus intertwined his claws with mine before we ascended into the dense crater. In my peripheral, I noticed several guards had also followed us. Our nemesis lacked Panora’s height; however, Alora’s youthful skin outshined her mother’s beauty.

“I see hell’s demons are in your favor, Thadeus,” she released a disgruntled hiss. I gave her a head-to-toe stare down. Her slender arms hung low at her sides while her Amazonian, chain-linked attire hugged at every curve. Alora’s bright-ruby eyes scorched holes in my direction, but I wouldn’t fear a cunt with a smaller army than ours.

“She was not worth my mother’s death,” Alora spat-out in distaste while she stepped in my direction.

“Do not menace at my mistress.” Thad stepped in front of me, shielding me from Alora’s hateful glare.

“It is obvious that we would succumb to your numbers, and there’s no need for that. Yet, I need to avenge my mother’s murder.” Her glare scolded pure hate at me.

I’d immediately recognized what she’d proposed. She’d wanted a fight, and she wanted me as an opponent. My gaze drifted from her stare as I considered how I would obtain a weapon to defeat her. None of the demons had bothered to prepare me on how to defend myself from Alora. For some reason, I’d neglected to offer myself as a fighter. I guess some part of me assumed that Thad would have had me protected.

I’d been selfish to believe that.

“Are you frightened of your death, Katy” Her threatening tone and mispronunciation of my name ignited my rage. I quickly forgot the fact that I’d never battled—anyone.

She’d disrespected me and had wanted what I’d intended to give her. I swiftly seized Thad’s sword and then lunged in her direction, but the sheath weighed me down. Nevertheless, I concealed my novice skill level.

“To the death, bitch!” I shrieked as I charged—in total Braveheart fashion—towards that hateful skank.

When I’d been inches from her, a bright strike of energy shot from her fingers as she hurtled me towards the entrance of the crater. That bitch had no intentions to fight fair. Following her unforeseen strike, I embarrassingly struggled to lift myself.

“Ha. I see that she’s a naïve baby demon,” Alora quipped as I gathered my composure.

My body ached with defeat and shame. Yet, I collected my pride and thanked Thad when he approached me. He silently helped me to my feet as he slowly guided us away from the crowd.

“How will I defeat her if she is much stronger than me?” I whispered as I struggled to grasp his sword until he finally relieved me of its weight.

“You are too … Forgive me, but your powers are no match against her. You’re barely two years old; she has centuries of practice over you.” Thadeus’s omission bothered me.

He viewed me as weak, and I couldn’t be seen as such. I needed to be respected as his better half.

“Release me and allow me to fight her,” I firmly commanded, but he refused to listen.

We continued walking until we climbed out of the crater, where our army of thousands awaited us. Silence greeted me while shameful stares sealed my mouth shut. I knew those glares too well; and I felt too disgraced to defend my actions. With my head hung low, I stared at my bare, filthy feet while Thad rallied his troops.

“Alora is no fool; she’s aware that we outnumber her army, so she wants to terminate Kate. Clearly, Kate is no match. She is young and barely coming into her powers.” Thad stopped as he tucked me under his heavy arm. His words revealed that he had lacked shame of my weakness, so I tightly held on to his public affection.

Once Thadeus had completed his speech, an unfamiliar female demon stepped forward to speak, “I will gladly fight for the Lord’s Mistress, Kate. I have followed your command, Lord Thadeus, for centuries. Also, I never liked Panora—she needed to die.” Her gruff submission stirred the crowd as many others also stepped forward, offering to fight for my safety. Glee that I’d been accepted, and not rejected by our army, budded within me.

Again, we huddled, planning our next move—until Alora’s group had taken advantage of our distraction. They attacked with a cowardly force, and havoc quickly erupted when the gracious demon, who had just offered to defend me, had been impaled with a staff.

“Yol, protect her,” Thadeus growled, pushing me into my new guardian. Although I fought to stay by Thad, ten other guards crowded around Yol, creating an impenetrable defense circle. Mayhem-infused battling overpowered hell’s regular terror-filled cries. My guardians kept me safe, but I felt blind to the battle beyond their bodies. Without hesitation, I quickly lowered myself to the ground, peeking through their legs and anxiously watching as a dust-filled battle ensued.

We will win. We have to win. I will see Thadeus again.

No one wore distinguishing apparel; however, I quickly noticed the flame-engraved weapons that had been distributed before we had arrived at the crater. My eyes widened like eggs and my heart raced like greyhounds while I watched in terror as unknown demons fell to their death. Demon blood splashed i
n my direction as the loud fight continued until I’d heard Alora’s voice, “Kill them. Destroy them. Avenge my mother!”

No, I will see my lover again. He has to survive. He will survive.

Bodies continued to fall as I huddled, clenching at my guardians’ legs while I spectated a blood bath of demon warriors. My eardrums rang with a deep pain when a deathly shriek echoed through the air … then an awful stillness followed. Too many bodies had been piled up around my guardians, which concealed what I’d find on the other side of my fort of protectors.

After an eon of apprehensive waiting, the deathly war-cries had finally died out. Anxious to return to Thad, I pushed at the demon-made armor, but they wouldn’t budge. Out of an erupt silence, a female voice ordered, “Release her.”

Panic stabbed at my insides when I feared that somehow Thadeus’s army had lost. My shielded darkness faded as a guard stepped aside, revealing the carnage. Before me, a war-torn warrior held out Alora’s head for me to take; but I hadn’t cared about her offering—because I needed to find my lover.

“Where’s Thadeus?” I screamed as I bolted past the guard who held my enemy’s head.

My heart raced like a wild mare, sprinting from a tiger. Terror-filled images filled my mind as I watched in shock while Thad fought: one against five.

“Help him,” I ordered, before a fleet of demons flew to assist my lover. I watched with relief as the last of Alora’s army had been defeated.

Thad had survived, and even though his face creased from being war-tattered and exhausted, he flew to me. Just like he’d done in Krka’s lagoon, he yanked me into the air and carried me to our hut on top of the volcanic river. We landed and rushed to our nest, never once detaching from each other’s embrace.

“From this day forward … I will love you more than the stars love the moon,” he huffed as he parted my thighs and then filled me with his sub-sized cock. A lust-filled whisper crept from my lips, “I’ll love you … as long as my demon heart beats within me.”

I relished with pleasure as he quenched my lust, on that day … and every day of our eternity.

  The End

Self-publishing is a tiresome process, one that takes a loving community to complete. Dearest Jason, I’m thankful for all that you’ve sacrificed so that I could achieve my dreams. To my children, Derrick and Ana, your love and child-like understanding keep me grounded.

To my bombass PAs, Alisha Coggins and Annie B, I would lose my shit without your friendships.

Dearest KZ fans, thank you for your continuous support. If I didn’t have your continuous encouragement, then I’d be just another vulgar writer without a purpose.

Last, but never least, Tara Dawn—my editor and writing guardian—thank you for being blunt enough to tell me when my words are wrong. You are the bomb.com.
