“No, it’s your turn to shut up,” Tynan said, a little exasperated finally. “I’m in love with you. You’re in love with me. I’m right, aren’t I?”

Kai hesitated just long enough to make him sweat and then whispered, “Yes. I love you.”

Tynan appeared to be very pleased with himself after that admission. “Good,” he said as Kai happily snuggled into his arms. “Now, let’s have five minutes peace.”

  The Obligatory HEA Epilogue

The journey to the Isles took two months. It would have been quicker on a direct boat, but Tynan didn’t want to risk being seen and Kai was happy to extend the journey.

They stopped in Rosemort: the city of flowers and death. It was stinky.

Then they spent two weeks in Vicerovia. Kai knew the place well, having worked there for a time, and was able to show Tynan all his old haunts. The jail, hospital, and leather shop all held happy memories for him, and he was welcomed with open arms in the gin palace.

“They used to lap it right out of my belly button,” he said, eyes glazing over fondly while Tynan’s grip on him tightened.

It was his turn to be jealous when they stopped at Jorn and a lady caught Tynan’s eye. Biggest tits on the Eastern Ocean, and Kai thought Tynan had been hypnotized. But when they went back to the boat, she was forgotten as Tynan explained he was more interested in her negligee than the sheer size of her breasts (though after much needling and pouting from Kai, he confessed they weren’t bad either).

They traveled all over until the finally stopped at Harmony Island. It was a beautiful place, all palm trees, and sunshine. The locals were friendly, the food was good, and Tynan agreed to get a nice beach house in a fancy area as an investment. Everything was going perfectly.

And then the neighbors knocked on the door.

Kai had given up whoring, but he hadn’t given up scandalizing humans, and while Tynan pulled on his trousers and a shirt, Kai opened the door wearing nothing but a few well-placed strips of leather and a pair of nipple rings.

“Charmed to meet you,” he said, holding out a hand before retracting it rapidly. “Timothy! You’re supposed to be dead.”

Timothy looked as surprised to see him as Kai felt. He opened and closed his mouth a few times but didn’t manage to get a word out for Kai. He did, however, look at his companion and say, “This is why I like being a recluse!”

Kai looked instead to the man next to him. He was dressed in green, and Kai knew him, even if he didn’t know his name. “Who’s this? He was at the trial. He had my note.”

“I’m Wendell,” the man said, offering his hand to shake now. When Kai didn’t take it, he asked, “Can we come in? I don’t think the whole beach needs to witness this.”

“No you bloody can’t!” Kai said, raising his voice to the optimal volume for maximum embarrassment. “You used me!”

Wendell pushed past him and into the house, pulling Timothy with him.

“I’m sorry,” Timothy said. “I know you don’t take much interest in political affairs, but I was to marry Prince Adam of the Northern Straits. I’ve never even met him! And I love Wendell. I couldn’t let that happen.”

“But you could let me be captured, tortured, and nearly killed? You could let me think I killed your lover?”

Timothy shrugged. “You’re strong; I knew you’d survive. I was going to have you freed after you’d been found guilty.”

  “My ass,” Kai muttered.

Timothy chewed his lip. “You’re not going to hit me, are you? Don’t hit me.”

“I’m not sure I can commit to that,” Kai snapped.

He would have lunged forward, but Tynan had arrived, and his hands slammed down on Kai’s shoulders. “I’ll hold him back.”

  “Who are you?” Timothy asked.

“Someone that can save you from being ripped apart by an angry demon.”

  “Yes, but who are you?”

“We want fifty thousand pounds,” Tynan said.

“And I want to know who you are.”

Tynan released one shoulder, and Kai dived forward, letting Tynan pull him back with the other.

“Fifty thousand,” Tynan said. And this time, Kai let him negotiate.

  ***

Tynan bit down hard on the pillow and thanked the gods for three things. He was grateful for liberally applied oil, silk sheets rubbing against his cock and balls, and Kai’s enormous demon dick. Sure, the last had taken a bit of getting used to, even after some extensive training on the road, but persistence had paid off.

Kai was behind him, giving it all his hips could manage, which was a lot given that he was an incubus. He was growling something in Demonic, strange words that sent a tingle up Tynan’s spine and made him feel a little lightheaded. He could feel his body relaxing, making it easier to take Kai’s demonhood deeper inside.

Everything was good. The stretch. The burn. The feeling of being filled up to bursting. The way Kai was nudging that special bit when he thrust in and out. Every touch was building him up, making Tynan’s bollocks feel like they were going to burst; making his dick hurt from the lack of attention.

He wasn’t allowed to touch. Kai was laying down the rules right now, and Tynan had let him. He’d come from this soon enough anyway, but in the meantime he just had to lay on his front with his legs spread and get fucked into the middle of next week.

Kai leaned down over him. Tynan felt hot breath in the middle of his back, and Kai’s hands moving. Kai had been holding Tynan’s buttocks apart, but now Kai’s hands were smoothing up Tynan’s back until they were coasting over his shoulders and gripping his upper arms.

And then it hit. His release, Kai’s release, and that dizzying transfer of energy between them that made his whole body feel the way his ass did. Kai rode it out and then pulled out.

He shifted to the side, shoved his arm underneath Tynan and flipped him over. The manhandling was very enjoyable. Kai could keep that up.

“I liked that,” Tynan said, making sure he didn’t give Kai too much of a compliment. Their relationship didn’t work that way and probably never would. And that made him happy.

“And this?” Kai asked, waggling his half-hard dick in his hand.

  “It’s not bad.”

Kai snorted. “Nice try, but you aren’t half as grumpy as you used to be.”

“And you’re not half as annoying.”

“Thanks. I think.” Kai frowned slightly, and Tynan wondered if he would have liked a compliment after all. “Can I ask you a question?” Kai asked.

  “What about?”

“Are you happy here with me?”

Oh, yes. Kai was definitely fishing for a compliment.

Tynan made a show of thinking for a bit. “Am I happy here with you when I could be out bounty hunting instead of living in a luxury villa, on a tropical island, with the hottest demon around?”

  Kai smiled. “Exactly.”

“When I could be freezing my nuts off on an uncomfortable cart on my way to arrest a bigamist orc or a shoplifting centaur? You wouldn’t believe how much they can cram in those saddlebags.”

“I’ve been crammed in the saddlebag by a centaur. I know all too well.”

Tynan pulled Kai to him. “I don’t want to know about it. I don’t want anyone cramming you but me.”

  “Sweet.”

  “Don’t call me sweet.”

“Fragile too, apparently,” Kai said, giving Tynan a playful punch on the arm as if to prove otherwise. “Don’t worry; I still love you.”

Was there anything better than hearing that? “And I love you,” Tynan said, pulling Kai on top of him in anticipation of round two.

Kai was positively grinning now. “So to clarify, you are happy?”

  “Yes.”

  “Sure?”

  “Positive.”

“Because if you’re not, you’ll tell me,” Kai pressed.

Tynan lifted a finger to Kai’s lips and hushed him. “My patience is beginning to wear thin now,” he said,
so I’m just going to go ahead and say that you are eminently fuckable.”

“Good,” Kai said, leaning down over Tynan and planting a soft kiss on his lips. “Now I know for sure where we are.”
