He had to laugh. Typical Quincy. “Alright then, I’ll be there in a few minutes if the traffic isn’t so bad”
“I’ll be waiting”
He walked into the restaurant and met Quincy at the far end of the restaurant, his favorite spot. They both ordered lunch and discussed while they ate.
“You’re a lucky man, George” he said smiling at him.
George smiled back. Luck? “I worked for it, so I earned it”
“Good enough, it doesn’t work that way for most people in the legal world”
He didn’t reply that. “I’ll be getting married soon”
“I feared that” he said looking at him.
“The firm is for my kids, not just for me. Someone has to keep the family legacy alive”
“That’s a good idea George, but I don’t see myself making that decision anytime soon, I can’t just get attached to one lady when they’re many more out there. I’ll have to be responsible for family and all that” he shook his head in disgust.
“Not you” George said, it was something he always said when he didn’t picture himself doing something.
“Not I, man” he replied as they laughed heartily.
