The GP's Valentine Proposal Page 19

by Jessica Matthews

She flipped back the lid to reveal a huge solitaire engagement ring that sparkled under the intense lights. “Yes, please,” she said primly as she held out her hand.

With a wide smile that stretched from ear to ear, he slid the ring onto her finger. The crowd erupted into cheers and catcalls, but Dixie hardly noticed because Mark was kissing her.

Justin abruptly pulled her to her feet as the band struck up a romantic ballad. “Come on. You’ll have plenty of time for that later.”

Before she realized what he was doing, he, Jared and Galen were pushing them onto the dance floor. People formed a circle around them, as if waiting for them to start.

Mark held out his arms. Without hesitation, she placed her right hand in his left, her left hand on his shoulder, and followed his lead as he moved to the music.

Words seemed trite and she simply relaxed against him and gave herself up to his guidance. To her surprise, she discovered that she wasn’t as rusty as she’d thought.

More importantly, she realized that everything she’d been searching for, everything she’d ever wanted, she had discovered right here, in a town where hope was more than just a name.
