Sasha was beyond happy when he finally got inside her. Though he wasn't looking at her or whispering sweet words on her ear, it was more than enough. She could still feel his growing member inside her as he continued to bang her. He was fast and rough, which was what she had always wanted from him.

She looked up and saw him simultaneously licking and fingering her twin sister, who was oblivious to what was happening between them on the floor. Though, she wanted Scarlet to see him fucking her, it didn’t matter anymore. What was important was, he was fucking her. She sunk her fingernails on his back to pull him closer to her since half of his body was leaning to the right.

August pulled away for a moment to look at Sasha, but he kept his hand working on Scarlet’s womanhood. He was getting really hard inside Sasha. She was a good sex partner and had ways to completely capture a man’s deepest desires. Her subtle movements were giving him Goosebumps making him pump inside her more. He had to let go of Scarlet’s wet womanhood to focus on pumping Sasha. He was nearing his climax and he wanted to do it right. Their moans got louder and their breathing became heavier. This was it. He had to give it his all for the sake of having a lifetime of lovemaking with Scarlet.

His thrusts were rougher and faster; he was almost crushing Sasha beneath him. But it didn’t matter. He could see the glee in her face, the splurge of intoxication when they exploded together. He collapsed on her soft body as he tried to regain strength and recover his breathing as fast as he could.

“You’re free,” Sasha whispered on his ears before forcefully pushing him off of her.

She stood up naked with her shoes on. The smile on her face was both triumphant and defeated. She got what she had always wanted and now it was time for her to honor the deal.

  * * * * *

The following morning, Scarlet woke up in an unfamiliar room. Her gaze was greeted with the firm chest of her great love. He was already awake and had been staring at her.

  “How did I get here?”

“I carried you in when you were sleeping.” He kissed her forehead.

She smiled at the warmth of his kiss. The thoughts of last night after Sasha left the room came rushing in. When her twin sister finally left them alone, August sat on the sofa and made her sit on his lap. He wrapped his arms around her firmly and held her in silence for a long while. She didn’t say anything because she was too occupied with recalling the moans and thrusting sounds earlier that night while she remained motionless on the sofa with her eyes closed.

It was agonizing to listen to them. But it had to be done. For Sasha to finally let him go and for them to finally have the freedom to rekindle their lost love. What happened earlier may haunt her for the rest of her life, but she would accept it with an open heart. It was a sacrifice all three of them needed to make to be freed from the invisible leash that was binding them.

After a long while, when she was about to doze off, she felt his manhood growing by her side. And she knew that it was time for them, for many more nights they could share in or out of bed. When she looked up to him, he sealed her lips with his mouth right away. They wasted the rest of the night making love in every way possible until she could no longer keep her eyes open. She fell asleep without realizing it.

And a kiss from him that morning was such a good way to fully rise up and brace the new day. However, one question remained.

“Sasha,” she whispered her sister’s name.

“Here.” August handed him a folder small piece of white paper. When she opened it, it contained Sasha’s handwriting:

  Scar,

Thank you for granting my greatest wish. Last night was the best time of my life and I will cherish the memories. I am leaving you in the hands of the man we trust the most. He will love you dearly for the rest of your life and will be loyal to you ‘til death do you part.

I’m sorry for being the worst sister. I made your life miserable because mine wasn’t any better. Forgive my selfishness. And lastly, forgive me for almost killing you and August out of jealousy. I only asked them to scare the hell out of you, not kill you. Again, I’m really sorry.

By the time you’re reading this, I hope you are wrapped in his loving arms. Depend on him for comfort. I will see you again when I have already forgiven myself.

  Sasha

Tears had fallen endlessly on her cheeks after she finished reading the letter. She had always known Sasha loved her, even if her actions showed the complete opposite. It was just sad that last night had to happen before all of them could be finally freed from their twisted past.

“I’m sorry, Allie. If only I had given her a little more of my time, she wouldn’t be so bitter and lonely all this time.”

“If only I had been a better sister to her.”

She buried her face on his chest as she cried in relief and sadness. It seemed that the deadliest storm in their lives was finally dissolved for good. She could start looking back at the past a mere reminder of how misunderstanding, if left unsettled, can separate families and cradle unnecessary grudges.

“From now on, we should live in happiness. Let us fill out hearts with overflowing joy so by the time Sasha comes back, there will be bags filled with comfort and love to greet her.”

“Yes, let’s do that.” She nodded and smiled.

Right now, there was one more thing she would be looking forward to. Until then, she would love the man who had always been there for her, with all her might. Until then, she will live.”

  “Shall we have breakfast then?”

Scarlet beamed at the mention of having breakfast. She was starving and her stomach had started to growl. For the first time in a long time, she sat with him on the table to eat breakfast. It was heart-warming. The sense of belongingness returned to her as they conversed about their plans in the future.

They both got ready for work when the meal was over. She wore the same outfit she would usually wear at the office, but this time she put on a pink lipstick. Her side bangs had grown longer and she decided to grow her hair long again. It was time to embrace her femininity.

“You look lovely.” A huge smile was on August’s lips when she got out of the mansion.

He was already standing near the car, waiting for her. When he asked her to sit beside him on the back seat, she didn’t object. As they drove towards his office building, he kept squeezing her hand that was locked with his.

  Chapter Eight

It was a Saturday afternoon and Scarlet decided to check the garden. She hadn’t been taking care of the garden plants in a long time. She was contented with looking at them by her window.

With gloves put on a shovel, she happily walked around the garden. The flowers were in bloom, even the seasonal ones. The site was magnificent. Time had passed by quickly as she got occupied by plucking out dried leaves from the plants with flowers that had recently bloomed. It was her favorite past time then and it still is.

She was humming with glee when her phone started ringing. She fetched out from her apron and glanced at the unfamiliar number. Hesitantly, she answered the call. A man spoke and told her that August was in an accident near Central Park. She needed to come quickly because he was desperately asking for her.

Her hands went cold after the call had ended, but she kept an open mind. She needed to be at the accident site to protect him. Without bothering to check herself in the mirror before leaving, she just grabbed the car keys and went out.

She fairly broke every speed limit on every street she passed by. All she could think of at the moment was how he was doing. How badly his injuries were. She wanted to cry while thinking of the worst case scenario if the accident had been pretty bad, but she can’t or else she would end up in the hospital herself. Stepping on the gas, she reached the site in less than thirty minutes.

There were no crowd, which was common whenever there are accidents. The street was completely empty. She jumped out of her car in wonder as she searched the area. Could she have gotten the wrong street? She checked h
er phone again, she was at the correct street.

She walked around looking for August when a huge shadow hovered over her. When she looked up she saw a huge number of colorful balloons clustered together in one bundle as it floated in the air. Hanging below it was a big, white cardboard in a bell shape. Another set of balloons floated nearby, but instead of the white bell, what hang below it was a message box with the word ‘Will’.

Her brows furrowed, confused at what was going on. Another set floated her way and the word written on the message box was “You”. The balloons continued to float in the air each with different words. As the last one floated away, she covered her mouth in awe. August came out of nowhere and was now walking towards her with a huge message box held between his hands that read ‘Will you marry me?’

  “Oh my God!”

His charismatic smile was plastered on his face. He lifted the message box up while his smile broadens. And he yelled the words written on it.

“Will you marry me? Pretty please?”

He even knelt for a more dramatic effect. When she nodded, he dropped the board he was holding and crossed the distance between them.

  “Close your eyes.”

Scarlet gasped out of pure bliss, but she didn’t say anything. She just closed her eyes and wondered what he was up to this time.

When he held her right hand, she cold the slight shaking of his hand. It was cold too. She smiled wider realizing he was nervous. But why would he be? Was he thinking that she might turn down his proposal?

The cold metal that slowly slid through her ring finger oddly tickled her. It was an unusual reaction for a proposal of this magnitude. Shouldn’t she be jumping out of joy or tearing up due to uncontainable happiness? She wasn’t having those feelings. All she was worried about was the fact that the ring may not fit.

She just had to open her eyes because she was having some silly thought. The ring perfect fitted her ring finger. It was a diamond ring a size larger than a peanut enclosed in a white gold band. It was beautiful. And she was really happy that he chose a not-so-extravagant engagement ring. If he opted for a more lavishly expensive ring, she would not wear it.

“And you call this an engagement proposal?”

“Why? Aren’t you impressed?” He faked a sad face before smiling.

“I would have been, if not for the real reason why I came rushing here. How could you? What if I fainted out of shock or got into a real accident myself because I was nearly on 90kps just so I could see you? This proposal wouldn’t be happening, would it?”

That got him thinking. He couldn’t think of other reasons to get her to rush out of the mansion to be there. He thought they could both laugh at it after the hype of the proposal was over.

“Yeah, right. Not so impressive after all, huh?”

He scratched his head. How could a wonderful and blissful moment turn into a complete horror. For love, he was becoming a fool.

“This is a pretty decent ring. Thank you. Now, I’ll head back to my gardening while you stay here and repent on your sins.”

She turned her heel and marched away from him. It was just for show. She didn’t really hate the idea since the adrenaline rush gave her a sense of thrill, which she didn’t have for a long time. But she would keep it a secret from him or else she would be getting the scolding instead of him. When he ran after he, she yelled and ran further away. The chase went on and laughter filled the empty street.

A promise of an imperfect future for two perfectly match souls was more than enough for them to look forward and leave their past behind.

  Chapter One

Cassie tugged on the hem of her pencil skirt, her heels clip clopping on the tile floor. Even the building itself was terrifying, she couldn’t begin to imagine what Mr. Kine would be like. She had heard rumors about him sure, but rumors seldom told the truth. Walking through the sterile lobby however, Cassie began to wonder.

“Good morning, welcome to Kine Enterprises, how may I help you today?” The girl at the front desk resembled Barbie in every way and Cassie resisted the urge to ask her whether she lived in the Malibu Dream House.

“I have an interview with Mr. Kine, Cassie Wentworth.” Barbie typed something in to her computer before picking up the phone.

“Hello? Hannah, yes, I have a Cassie Wentworth here for Mr. Kine?” She posed a question that in Cassie’s mind shouldn’t have been a question at all.

“Uh huh, okay. Thanks.” She hung up the phone and flashed a brilliant smile. “Ms. Wentworth, if you could just take a seat over there in the lobby someone will be down to escort you shortly.” Cassie smiled briefly.

“Thank you.” Turning around she saw a small cluster of black leather chairs, the kind that had been chosen for aesthetics rather than comfort. She chose the one nearest to the front entrance and placing her handbag on the floor she sat down. There was no doubt that the chairs had been purchased for their appearance.

Cassie’s skin felt clammy. She hadn’t had a proper job interview since she’d graduated from college and that had been four years ago. Now here she was, sitting in the lobby of the most prestigious company in town waiting to see the man who had built it from the ground up. Her thighs were sweating and the cool leather of the chair clung desperately to the back of her knees.

After her college graduation Cassie had interviewed for a position with IT International. The interview had gone well and as a result she had worked there for the past three and a half years. It was only when the company was bought out by Global Infotronics that she had found herself jobless.

“Ms. Wentworth, can I fetch you a cup of coffee or a bottle of water?” A slender dark haired teen appeared out of nowhere.

“A bottle of water would be great, thank you.” The girl nodded and disappeared behind the reception desk. Moments later she reappeared in front of Cassie with a sealed bottle of Fiji water. Cassie took it with a smile and watched as once again the young girl skittered off across the tile floor and disappeared, this time through a solid wooden door.

Cassie’s mouth was dry as the anxiety of her upcoming interview tortured her. As she twisted the cap of the water however, she thought better of it, few things are worse than having to get up to pee during a job interview. Leaning down to rifle through her purse she grabbed a breath mint instead. She wished Callie were with her.

The twin bond was never something that Cassie had taken for granted, although if she was being honest she would have to agree to a slight degree of dependence on her sister. There was something very comforting about having a carbon copy of yourself to keep you company.

  “Ms. Wentworth?” Another you
ng girl stood in front of her this time and although older than the first, she couldn’t have been more than early twenties.

“Yes, hello.” Cassie stood up and put out her hand forcing the girl to shuffle a leather organizer to her other hand for a handshake.

“Lovely to meet you. I’m Hannah, Mr. Kine’s personal assistant. I’m here to escort you up to his office.” Cassie wondered why an escort was needed when there were six elevators in the main lobby and plenty of signs explaining each floors purpose. Her question was answered when they stepped in to the elevator and Hannah pulled out a black keycard, swiping it and pressing the button for the top floor.

“Wow, just like a penthouse suite!” Cassie smiled awkwardly and Hannah turned back to her.

“Yes, Mr. Kine takes his privacy very seriously. No one goes in or out of his floor without this keycard!” She waved the keycard before slipping it back in to her leather organizer.

“Can I ask you a question?” Cassie bit her bottom lip.

“Sure! I’d be happy to answer any questions you have before you meet Mr. Kine!” Hannah cocked her head slightly, resembling a curious puppy.

“Are all the rumors about Mr. Kine true?” Hannah opened her mouth to respond and then closed it again pressing her lips together. Cassie waited. Hannah let her eyes wander slowly up the wall of the elevator until they came in to view of a small video camera and then brought them back to look at Cassie.

“I’m not quite sure what you’ve heard, but in my experience rumors tend to come from a lack of knowledge and being that Mr. Kine is such a private person…well, I can imagine there are plenty of rumors floating around out there.” Cassie nodded, not quite sure that she had understood the verbal sidestep of the question but unwilling to ask her to clarify. Hannah smiled sweetly. “Don’t worry, you’ll be fine. Everyone is always nervous before their interview.”
