I nodded, trying to maintain my composure. He was making my entire body light up. “Yes, you do,” I sighed

The wedding was a small ceremony but very elegant. I stood off to the side as everyone gave toasts and congratulated the happy couple. I tried to blend in, but with the torture I was now going through, I was pretty sure my panting could be heard across the room.

Jett trailed his other hand along my exposed thigh, only making me breathe even harder. “I adore you, Quinn. I love everything about you. You consume me.” My heart raced uncontrollably.

Jett held a small box out in front me and opened it before I could reach out and touch it. I held my hand to my mouth as I took in the necklace—a gold chain holding the most unique setting.

“What is that?” I asked, pointing to the jewel in the middle.

“A chocolate diamond. It reminded me of the color of your eyes.”

“It’s gorgeous.” My gaze never left his hands as he pulled the necklace from the box and placed it around my neck. I held my hair to the side so he could fasten the clasp. After releasing the hold on my hair, I immediately took the pendant between my fingers and twisted it from side to side. “Thank you.” I paused to allow a moment to control my emotions. “It really is beautiful.”

  “Flip it over,” he instructed.

I did and on the back was an engraved heart with the letters J & Q inside. My throat felt tight and tears filled my eyes. I turned to face him and our eyes met. “I love it,” I told him. “I love you.”

The moment the words fell from my lips, he placed his over mine. The kiss was so different and so full of promise.

At that moment I knew Jett was it for me. There was no reason to fight my feelings any longer. He held me close, swaying with the music. I rested my hand on the back of his neck and played with the back of his hair. I forgot about the mess that would be waiting for me at home when we returned. I let go of the week I had been dealt prior to this trip and just held on to this moment. I allowed myself to forget that I had no idea how I would pay my bills next week or what we would do when the next house payment was due. I only concentrated on the way I felt in Jett’s arms, because I deserved that peace.

Jett gave me hope, and having hope was a welcome change.

  Chapter Twenty-Five

  Jett

I couldn’t remember a time I had ever been so content in my life. I had my work, and yes, it was all I had ever hoped for, but until Quinn, I hadn’t realized I was missing something. She had the ability to make all my hard work and dedication worth it.

The trip to Georgia had changed everything for Quinn and me. We were now past the hesitation we’d been fighting daily. I knew how she felt, and she knew exactly how I felt in return.

She was my girl, there was no doubt about that.

There was a difference in her. The way she smiled and laughed showed she was more at ease. I knew things at home were still a mess, but she and I, we were good.

“Jett.” Callie knocked on the door and peeked inside. “Easton Michaels is here for your meeting.”

I nodded. “Great, you can send him in.”

I had been talking with a fellow business associate about expanding. They’d sent Easton to settle the final steps before Jett’s moved into the Miami area.

“Jett,” Easton said as he entered, extending his hand with a smile.

I chuckled at the formality. “Oh, so the last time you were here and we both got so drunk we passed out on my back patio, no longer exists. We’ve moved on to more formal introductions now.” Staring back at him with a sly look on my face, I waited for his response.

“I figured this time since I was showing up for you to sign your life away, I would keep my business head on. Later we’ll get shitfaced drunk and leave all this formal shit behind us.” He had a cocky grin as he took a seat at my desk.

Easton and I go way back. He was the first person who stood behind me when I decided to buy the property for Jett’s. He comes from money, and he said he knew a great investment when he saw one. Since then, he and I had become great business partners and even better friends.

We spent the next few hours going over figures and plans for the new location. The remodeling process would begin next week, and if everything continued as planned, Jett’s second location would be up and running in less than six months. The process would be grueling, and I would have some traveling back and forth ahead of me, but I was flying high from the rush of my success.

With everything I now had to finalize, Easton and I decided to hold off on the celebrating, and we planned to have a night out at a later point. I buried myself in my work for the next several hours.

A light knock on my door broke my concentration. Looking up and through the glass wall at my side, I noticed night had fallen. The restaurant was winding down, and I was surprised I had missed so much of my afternoon and evening.

Another knock brought my attention back to the present, and I remembered someone was waiting to see me.

  “Come in,” I said.

Quinn stepped inside and smiled sweetly. My stomach instantly tightened as I took in her beauty. She wore a light pink sundress that stopped just above her knees. A sexy-as-hell pair of strappy sandals made her legs appear that much longer.

“Are you planning on locking yourself in here all night?” she asked as she closed the door behind her and clicked the lock before walking toward me. She rounded my desk and traced the edge with her fingertip. Trapping her lower lip between her teeth, she looked up at me through her long eyelashes. “I sat around waiting for you to call,” she whispered. “I got tired of lingering, so I thought I would take matters into my own hands.”

I sat back in my chair and linked my hands behind my head. “Oh yeah, and what is it you decided to do?”

She stepped up beside me and lifted one leg over my lap, straddling me, then lowering herself over me. “I decided that a girl needs to step up her game if she plans to keep her man happy. This place is a lot to compete with, and I have to be sure you remember what you’re missing out on when I’m not with you.”

She rocked her hips forward, and I grew hard beneath her. I tried to fight it, keeping my hands pinned behind my head, but that was useless the moment she swiveled her hips and let out a little moan.

I gripped her hips, lifted her off my lap, and placed her on top of my desk. She pouted slightly, and I held back a chuckle. Her skirt rose in the process, and the white lace of her panties stood out against her tanned legs, which she parted just enough to allow me the perfect view.

At times the pull she had on me was overwhelming. I don’t think there was any chance I could resist. She was the one thing I craved the most.

I slid my hands up her inner thighs, widening her legs, allowing myself room to slide closer. Quinn whimpered as I trailed my fingertips along the seams where her legs met the lace.

“You, Quinn…” I slid my finger below the lace and felt how turned-on she was, “…will never have to compete for my attention. You are the one thing I will never get enough of. You want me, I’m yours.”

She gasped the moment I slipped my finger inside her wetness and slowly began gliding in and out. “I will always stop whatever it is I may be doing to give you my undivided attention.”

I pulled my finger out and hooked the sides of her panties before sliding them down and off her legs. Once again I pushed her thighs apart.

Her cheeks were flushed and her breathing was shallow. She’d planned to show up and seduce me, and the problem was I couldn’t hide that I wanted her, needed her. There really wasn’t a moment that would go by without me thinking of her.

I lifted her legs and placed one foot on each arm of my chair. She was fully open to me. Kissing her inner thighs, I flipped my tongue against her leg between kisses. My eyes were locked on hers as I worked my way closer to the one place she needed me most.

As I licked along the crease of her leg, her mouth opened and her tongue rested against her lower l
ip. Knowing she was watching me so closely was the biggest turn-on.

The second I flicked the tip of my tongue against her clit, she lost it. Her head fell back, and she weaved her fingers through my hair. I smiled against her as she thrust her hips forward and I gave her what she craved.

  Chapter Twenty-Six

  Quinn

Oh damn, he was good. He completely flipped this situation around on me faster than I knew what hit me. I showed up here thinking I was going to tease him and drive him mad, then I planned to walk out and leave him wanting more.

But no, I had no chance when it came to this man. I was gone the moment he touched me. I melted into a puddle of need just from his molten stare. He knew how to crawl beneath my barrier and attack. I had no hope of survival against his touch.

I fought off the urge to thrust my hips forward, but he feasted on me like I was his last meal. My control was weakening, and I felt as if I would shoot straight through the ceiling. I was building toward release, and at any moment this last sliver of control would be gone.

I tried to slide back, but he only gripped my hips tighter. My legs were tingling, and my lower stomach was coiled so tight. The light suction from his mouth over my sensitive bud threw me over the edge, and I bucked my hips against his mouth. Things became hazy as I gripped the edge of the desk. “Yes,” I screamed. “Mm, so good.”

My toes curled so tight they began to cramp. A rush of heat filled my body, and I felt slightly light-headed from my release.

He removed his hands from my hips, and I heard the click of his belt buckle. I lifted my head and watched as he rolled a condom over his impressive erection.

“Stand up and turn around,” he commanded. My mouth watered instantly from the dominance in his voice. He had many sides when it came to sex. He was sweet and caring when that’s what I needed from him. But tonight I was face-to-face with the side of him that loved to control. Excitement rushed through me, because I really loved the demanding Jett.

I stood on shaky legs, turned around, and placed my hands flat on his desk. Looking back over my shoulder, I watched him step up behind me. Feeling the tip of his hardness slip through my wetness, I moaned instinctively and widened my stance. I needed him so bad, my body was shaking from pure desire.

Slowly and deliciously, he began to slide inside me. Our bodies took over, knowing what the other needed.

Looking up at the glass wall, I grew self-conscious, tensing slightly. Jett wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me against his chest tightly. His breath hot on my ear, he whispered, “Don’t worry, Quinn, it’s just us. No one can see you. Feel me, baby. Just me.”

He thrust his hips forward over and over, bringing me to the edge once again. I was lost as he drove into me, bringing us both to a level of ecstasy.

  ***

I giggled as I looked down at our disarrayed appearance. We were sprawled out over the couch in his office, naked. Well, mostly naked. Jett still wore his shirt, even though it was completely unbuttoned and hanging off one arm. His tie was still around his neck, only loosened and knotted.

I, on the other hand, still wore my dress, kind of. It was bunched in the middle, exposing both my upper and lower body. I had on only one heel, and my bra was hooked on Jett’s wrist. We were a mess.

  “What’s so funny?” he asked.

“Are you serious? Look at us. How could you not laugh?” I said in return. “What would someone think if they found us like this?”

He pulled me upward and brought me to rest on his chest, staring into my eyes. “I don’t care what anyone would think. We are good, Quinn. We’re so good together. This right here….” He paused. He closed his eyes tightly, and a wide grin spread over his lips. “This”—he motioned between our naked bodies—“was so fucking hot, baby.”

All I could do was bury my head in his chest and laugh. He was right, it was hot.

  ***

I took a few minutes to clean myself up in the bathroom in Jett’s office. My reflection in the mirror made me laugh. I had one hell of a freshly screwed look. My hair was going in all directions, and my mascara was smeared below my eyes.

I did the best I could to make myself presentable and stepped out to find Jett waiting. He looked perfect, as if we hadn’t just had a wild round of monkey sex ten-minutes ago. Guys really had things easy; it truly was unfair.

“You feel like going to have a drink? Kade and Easton are down at Roger’s, the bar down off Bay View,” he said. “Kade just sent me a text asking me to stop by. I was hoping you could finally meet Easton too.”

“You can go, it’s a guy thing. I can just head out,” I replied.

Jett picked his phone off the desk and slid it into his pocket. As I reached out to grab my purse from the floor, he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me tightly against him.

“I don’t want you to go home. I want you to go with me to Roger’s,” he stated as he stared at me with a look of fierceness. “If you don’t go, I don’t go.”

“Kind of feels weird going along when it’s just the guys,” I confessed.

“It’s just a drink, Quinn, and I want you there. They know we are together, so they expect you to be with me.” He didn’t wait for me to argue, he just pulled me along without another word.

He wanted me to ride with him, but I ended up following him there instead, which he wasn’t too happy about, but I didn’t want to have to go back to Jett’s to get my car afterwards. I would drive home straight from the bar. I think he was hoping I would stay with him instead. That would be a fight for later.

The bar was busy, and after a few minutes we found the guys hidden in a back corner, accompanied by a few girls that looked a little wasted. They both looked relieved to see us, and I tried to hide my laughter as the dark-haired man, who I assumed was Easton, pleaded with Jett to rescue them.

“Well, ladies, the rest of our gang is here, so it was nice talking to ya,” Kade said as he tried to push past the blonde who didn’t seem to care that her tits were close to falling out of her tight shirt.

“Oh well, let us just move over and make some room,” the brunette cooed as she slid closer to Easton. I couldn’t hold back the laughter as Easton threw his hands up and jumped back. The brunette was gripping his crotch, and he was doing all he could to brush her off.

“You boys look like you have your hands full. Maybe we should give you some time alone.” Jett chuckled at my words.

Kade narrowed his eyes and glared up at me. “Quinn, Jett said something about you having your bellybutton pierced. Tracy here is thinking of getting hers done. Maybe she can take a look at yours. Ya know, getting a better look at one may help her decide.”

Oh no he didn’t. I saw the light in the blonde’s eyes as she spun around, solely focused on me. “Oh yes. Let me see yours.” She started to lift up the hem of my dress, and I shrieked. Hell no.

Jett grabbed the girl’s hands, and she locked eyes with him. He shook his head and she dropped my dress.

The laughter from Kade and Easton earned a very intimidating look from Jett. Kade knew exactly what would happen once he told the girl about my piercing. He planned that distraction well.

After about thirty minutes and a couple of drinks, we decided to head out. I knew Jett and I were about to argue over where I would be staying tonight. I was more than grateful when the guys decided to go back to Jett’s place.

Jett led me to my car and pinned me against the side once we reached it. “You following me?” he asked, and my heart sank.

  “Not tonight,” I replied.

He held my stare, and I focused on the muscle in his jaw. It was ticking with irritation, and the sight of it made my stomach sink.

“Quinn, one day she has to grow up,” he stated. “And one day you need to force her to.”

He kissed me a little too quickly before he released his hold on me and stepped back. “I don’t like not being able to spend the night together.”

  I could see the frustra
tion written all over his face. It was the main reason relationships rarely worked for me. My home life always had a way of messing things up. I knew it was my fault; he was right. One day she had to realize I wouldn’t be there to pick up her messes. I just had a really hard time making that happen.

  Chapter Twenty-Seven

  Jett

I walked into my parents’ house, Quinn’s hand securely in mine. “Hello?” I yelled, looking around the empty space. “Anyone home?”

“We’re in here,” my mom hollered back from the kitchen.

Pulling Quinn closer to me, I guided her toward my mother’s voice. I roamed my hand along her hip to cop a quick feel before entering the kitchen. Quinn squealed and spun around to face me with a scowl on her face. She could pretend all she wanted to that she didn’t like my hands on her, but I knew different.

A loud rumble of “Surprise!” rang out as I rounded the corner. The room was filled with family and friends, food scattered across the countertops.

My mother rushed forward and kissed my cheek. “Happy birthday, handsome,” she said as she stepped back and pulled Quinn in for a quick hug. “And thank you, sweetheart, for getting him here.”

Quinn stood at my side, and once again I placed my hand on her hip and pulled her in close to me. Leaning in her direction, I lowered my voice so only she could hear me. “So you were in on this too. I may have to come up with a way to pay you back for this later.”

“Oh, I’m looking forward to it, Mr. Jameson.” She looked up at me through her eyelashes and fluttered them innocently. Quinn had a dirty side that I was lucky enough to get a taste of, and I was hoping for another sample of that tonight.
