Interra (Awakened Series Book 5) Page 28

by Harley Austin

“Do you have any idea how beautiful you are?” he whispered.

“Ohhh,” was all she could manage to breathe, feeling him widening her inside.

Rion slipped to his knees, his thick muscular thighs spread wide, with Serena wrapped around him, moving herself over him, his hands covering her ass while both of their hips rocked softly.

Rion dipped his head back as she watched him savoring the sensations of both of their bodies from the deeply tight intimate connection.

He looked back into her eyes again, barely able to breath, his heart pounding in his chest.

  “Ahhh, Serena, I love you.”

“Ohhh!” She whimpered. Her lips met his. Rion could feel all over inside her, ‘I love you too.’

When their lips parted again, Rion looked into her eyes. They watched each other. Felt each other. Moving softly. Sweetly. Rocking their bodies to the rhythm of the other, emotion and feeling, soft and intensely powerful built between them. Serena loved the feeling of how Rion filled her so completely. It was magical how she felt with his rock-hardness tightly filling her so deeply. She rocked her hips, teasing herself over his immense shaft.

Rion could sense her intensity rising.

She could feel his own emotion welling between his thighs. It would not be long for either of them now.

“Ohhhh. Serenaaahhh.” Rion exhaled, rocking himself softly into her following her rhythms. He was right at his edge.

She looked into his eyes, astonished, already feeling what he was about to say.

“Marry me.” Rion whimpered against her lips falling over a cliff of ecstatic pain.

Their feelings linked, Serena’s body was right at her own peak with him. She quickly folded her lips into his, her emotion taking a jump she wasn’t expecting. He could already feel her answer. Serena’s kiss was desperate, frantic, as her emotion launched explosively with his.

Rion held onto Serena as both all at once detonated into full and deeply powerful mutual climax.

“AAAHHH!” she cried out, again and again. Her mouth was fully open and her body on fire with searing elation. Rion held her tight as her body writhed wildly in his arms with unbridled ecstasy exploding within her.

But Serena wasn’t the only one crying out. The double feeling of Serena’s body in the throws of burning ecstasy along with his own had pushed Rion utterly out of control. He called out from between their kiss, exploding forcefully, pulsing and shooting hard with wave after wave, after intense wave of painful bliss spilling into her. Both clung to each other’s perspiring bodies, feeling the release of the other as well as their own.

After long, long moments of deep release, each fully expended their emotion between them. Rion held Serena tightly to himself, listening to her heart beating more softly now, as her strength began to wane. She called out softly as the soft second wave of her awakening climax took her; he could feel his seed spreading quickly through her, awakening her body in ways he could not imagine.

The glow was already moving quickly through her. He watched as it started from between their bodies where they were intimately connected, but it was now spreading over her skin like a tiny ocean waves, moving up, receding slightly and then moving further through her. Rion watched in fascination as the woman softly took on the glow of goddess.

Suddenly Rion felt his cock throb deep within her.

It felt warm. Nice. He felt himself throb again, and then again. Then the throb became a pulse of passion, as if he were coming all over again.

A deep wave of sudden ecstasy built, hitting him explosively and without warning. He pulsed hard, again and again in what felt like another full climax, only, this time, it wasn’t stopping.

“AAHHH!” he called out in deep ecstatic pain, still holding a barely conscious Serena. Her glow was now moving over his groin, pushing over his thighs and up his abs.

“HUH?” Rion breathed weakly in deep surprise, his strength suddenly waning. He collapsed backward with Serena now fully aglow over the top of him.

An unclothed hunky Jerrod walked into the great room, his skin brightly golden and his eyes lit powerfully.

From the front of the room, Beau entered, walking through the front windows of the lodge as if they weren’t there, his skin just as unclothed and eyes blazing like Jerrod’s.

Elle stepped from the large fire that blazed within the hearth, followed by Ian entering from the hallway and Aramis descending the grand stairs.

Half dazed, Rion watched all of them circling around himself and Serena. Her glow had completely cover him now and he watched them extend their hands as his world went suddenly bright white.

Both Rion and Serena exploded in a blinding blaze of golden-white light. The five sun gods surrounding them could only contain and direct their awakening aura so much. The force of the blast mostly directed upward, it shook the heavy foundations of the home, blasting through the big timbered roof, shooting skyward in a dazzling golden beam that could be seen from cities and towns on both sides of mountains.

The three well-curved but cloaked women looked on through the gently swirling mists as the sun gods directed the power of a united awakening from destroying the top of mountain.

“The prophecy is now complete,” one said, her youthful voice melodious.

“We knew it would be,” said another in a beautiful tone.

“We will unite the kingdoms once again,” said the last.

All three nodded, the mists suddenly swirling to reveal the face of a young man who was yet unknown.

R ion groaned. He thought he heard the sound of familiar voices in the great room. He was still laying on the wood floor; the fire was still burning in the hearth. He could feel Serena’s warm body covering himself. Still intimately but flaccidly connected, he slipped himself wetly from her and carefully carried the sleeping and softly glowing Serena to a nearby couch. Rion’s own skin had taken on a soft golden glow.

Rion looked askance at the other sun gods standing around, their unclothed skins in a soft glow as well.

“Don’t you guys ever wear any clothes?” he groused.

“The Kir don’t wear clothes.” Jerrod held out his fist.

Rion bumped it with his own, sending a small shower of scintillating colored light radiating off between their closed hands. Rion looked down at himself and the soft unworldly glow radiating from his skin.

“Five bucks, Elle. You owe me.” Aramis walked into the great room, a plastic soda bottle in his hand.

“Pretty impressive, Rion.” Ian grinned. “Not even thirty minutes. Elle was out for two days.”

  Rion suddenly understood. “I’m—Invicti. How?”

“Call it an unscheduled upgrade,” Beau offered, leaning against the hearth.

“Unscheduled? What are you talking about?” Rion looked up to see the massive hole both he and Serena had made in Sevrin’s roof. His ring jumping to his hand, he summoned an intelligence to repair it. Within moments the gaping hole began to quickly close as new wood and material was generated on a molecular level.

“The Masters, Rion,” Jerrod interjected. “They wrote the prophecies. The problem was they failed to account for some serious anomalies in their core models.”

  “Yea. Brenda.” Rion murmured.

“Exactly. The waypoints the Masters put in place, the lynchpins if you will, to direct the future, are way broken now.”

  “Broken? How do you know?”

“The war between the Sentinels and the Seven, it should have ended millennia ago. Only it didn’t.”

“Tell me something I don’t know,” Rion frowned.

“The future.” Elle lamented. “None of us knows the future anymore.”

“You’re saying the models, the prophecies themselves, then, are—”

  “Junk.” Elle finished.

“They’re hopelessly broken, Rion,” Jerrod continued. “We’re off course.”

Rion nodded. “I think a lot of us have been noticing that for a w
hile.”

“The last waypoint, designed to bring about a unified religion with the Humans, was executed two millennia ago. All the event did was help the Seven create Rome and then toss the whole world into the Dark Ages.”

  Rion sighed, then nodded.

“Rion, we have to rewrite the prophecies.” Beau stated firmly.

“They can’t be rewritten,” Rion argued. “Once the waypoints begin to execute, they set up a series of irrevocable chain reactions in the Endymion fabric. There’s no way to stop it.”

“I beg to differ,” Jerrod corrected.

  “How?”

  “You’re still breathing.”

“Are you telling me—I should be dead?”

“As a doornail.” Elle folded her arms.

  “What changed?” Rion asked.

“More like who?” Elle pointed to the sleeping, glowing skinned Serena.

Rion stared like a deer in headlights at all of them for a moment. “We were attacked on the way here. Serena took control of the plane.”

“She wasn’t meant to die, Rion.” Jerrod watched her resting peacefully. She was really beautiful. He stopped looking at her before other enticing thoughts began entering his mind. He looked back at Rion. “But you were.”

Rion nodded. The prophecies were clear. All of the natural gods would die out. As a natural born, Rion was pretty sure someone at some point would kill him. He just never knew when.

“Then we’re all blind. Nothing will make any sense from the prophecies anymore.”

“Not entirely,” Beau offered. “We still have the Master’s original models. Broken or not, we know where the waypoints are supposed to execute. We can at least see the larger errors as they occur.”

  Rion nodded.

“So when does the next waypoint instruction execute?” Jerrod asked, glancing first at Beau and then Rion.

“Now,” both Beau and Rion said together.

Beau nodded. “It’s executing as we speak. There was supposed to be a cataclysm that brought all the peoples together, each nation becoming a kind of state under a new unified benevolent global government. It doesn’t matter what we do to avert it, it will happen. Sans the benevolent part.”

Rion was nodding. “I agree. That’s exactly what is already happening.”

“How do we turn the ship?” Aramis asked. “How do we keep all of us from hitting the rocks, so to speak?”

“You don’t. It’s too big. It’s like putting an ice cube into a swimming pool. It’s just not big enough. Eventually the ice cube melts.”

“But what happens if it doesn’t melt?” Ian asked.

Rion pondered Ian’s simple question. “It’ll freeze the pool.”

“Rion.” Jerrod met his gaze. “We came here for one reason—to ask for your help. I know we’ve been a little aloof from the rest of you; from the rest of the Ra. But we think the Invicti are here for a reason. To thwart the prophecies. Unravel them. To keep them from destroying this world. We’ve already succeeded in small ways. Your life is testament to that.” He pointed at Serena. “She is testament to that.”

Rion nodded. “Apparently the Fates want me as an Invicti; but I am still a Sentinel, first and foremost. The legacy of the Ra is my first responsibility.”

  “Agreed.” Jerrod nodded.

Rion looked down at the sleeping Serena. “How long do you think she’ll be asleep? I’ve never awakened anyone before, let alone an Invicti.” He gazed around, bewildered. All of them were simply shrugging or shaking their heads.

“Rion,” Jerrod began, “Beau and Ian never went to sleep. You were out for half an hour. Ell was out for only a couple of days. Serena, is any of our guesses. We are all charting new territory here. All of you have the Books of Ra. Unfortunately, no one bothered to leave us an instruction manual.”

D riving for a couple of hours through freshly snow-plowed mountain roads, Jake was on his way to what he hoped would not turn into yet another dead end. Mira had garnered a bucket load of intel after stealthfully hacking the ISA’s special division investigating the Ra.

Steele was bad news. According to U.S. sources, the guy had more warrants out for his arrest in more countries than Jake had bothered to count. Murder, espionage, money laundering, bank heists, the list went on and on. A notorious black hat underworld hacker, according to reports Mira had found, they guy had most recently hacked the US’s own missile defense system and was on the run from the feds. And now Serena was tangled up in this mess with an underworld kingpin who fancied himself a god. Jake was still having a hard time buying that story. Whoever in hell had placed the ISA in charge of such a bullshit investigation was totally beyond him, but the agency had been at it for decades. He didn’t have time for this kind of nonsense.

He had investigated Steele’s penthouse home in San Antonio—at least he had tried to. It had become a dead end. The building was secured like Fort Knox; he had never seen a high-rise so well fortified. The security glass of the doors and windows leading into the rooftop apartment from the garden were impossible to scratch, let alone shatter. He had given up breaking into the place after an hour.

Now Jake was in a rented 4x4 outfitted with snow chains heading for a mountain lake house. The high-level intel was recent and something Jake had hoped was accurate. And the media reports of a strange intense light emanating from these mountains the night before only added to Jake’s thoughts as he made his way through the snow-covered forest.

Turning onto a very winding but nicely wide road private road that had been recently plowed, he drove up to a decent sized lake with a very large three story, snow-covered A-framed lodge. Sitting next to the lodge and also covered in snow was one of the oddest-looking private jets he had ever seen. It was sleek in its design with a deep swept wing and oddly configured rear engines with no discernable intakes. A trained Israeli fighter pilot himself, Jake did a double-take. What the hell? It had to be VTOL. There was no way something that big with such small lift surfaces was taking off out of this narrow valley without a decent runway.

The air was still and quiet with a low overcast sky that made the mountain lake and surrounding forest seem smaller, even a little cozy. Jake went to the front door, assumed his best ‘lost fisherman‘ guise and rang the bell.

A minute went by before he could finally see someone approaching through the frosted glass front door. The door opened; a tall, dark-haired muscular guy stood in the open doorway.

Jake smiled, holding up a piece of half wadded-up paper with some scribble on it. “Sorry to bother you, bro.” His words offered in a kind of red-neck vernacular. “I think I’m lost.”

This was a rare occasion, but not unusual. Fishermen and hunters would come through now and then, some to ask permission to go fishing, others to ask for directions. Rion offered a friendly grin. “I can probably help you. Where are you going?”

“I thought it was right here,” he lifted the crinkled paper in front of the young man’s face to show his freehand map.

Rion studied the paper for a moment. Then something hit him in the chest with unexpected force that sent him off his feet and onto his back. He skidded against the smooth wood floor and heard the door close. He was momentarily dazed by the blow, but otherwise unhurt. Oddly, his danger sense hadn’t warned him. He started to rise quickly but the man at the door was already hovering over him, a large caliber muzzle pressing firmly against his upper lip.

Rion held his pose on the floor.

“Where is she!? And you had better hope to G-d she’s still alive!”

The guy hovering over Rion was definitely Human. The martial blow was totally unexpected. The gun was Israeli issue; Mossad, probably. Rion quickly recalled Serena telling him about her previous boyfriend, the combat instructor. Rion wouldn’t have minded tangling with him but he was obviously only interested in Serena’s safety. Rion was a little annoyed that his innate danger senses hadn’t at least given him a tingle. Either he was still worried about Sere
na and he had not paid attention to them, or the guy with the gun pressed against his face wasn’t really interested in harming him.

Jake felt himself being studied. He pressed Rion’s head to the floor with the barrel, “I asked you a question!”

“She’s fine. She’s upstairs,” Rion offered calmly.

“Get up,” Jake ordered, lifting the barrel from Rion’s face but keeping the magnum caliber weapon trained squarely on him. Rion got slowly to his feet.

“Show me,” Jake motioned up stairs with a wave of the big gun. Rion led Jake to their bedroom where he had brought Serena after last night’s awakening. The glow had faded from her skin and she was sleeping soundly just as he had left her before going to answer the door.

Jake motioned Rion to sit down in one of the bedroom chairs. Then he tried to wake Serena, but she never moved.

“What did you drug her with?” Jake ordered, the weapon still trained on Rion.

“Nothing. She’s not drugged. She’s just sleeping.”

“What did you do to her? So help me G-d, Steele, I’ll fill you with more holes—”

“She’s fine,” Rion insisted. “She’ll wake in a couple of days.”

“Days? What the hell did you do to her!?” Jake demanded again, pulling the hammer back and leveling the weapon right between Rion’s eyes.

“That’s really none of your business.”

“Oh, I’ll make it my business.”

“I think I’ve had enough of the Clint Eastwood routine. I’m going downstairs. Serena needs to rest. If you want to know more we can talk downstairs.”

Rion got up and exited the room. Jake let him leave. There was something about Rion that was indescribable. Jake had been taught to read people, to know what their intentions were from their movements. Whatever was happening to Serena didn’t seem to worry Rion; but that mystery was still a matter of opinion at this point. For now he had found Serena and she was alive. Now it was time for someone to start talking.
