Tempest (Valos of Sonhadra Book 2) Page 12

by Poppy Rhys

“Take it back,” I held out the comb, “before something bad happens.”

Dason frowned, pushing my hand toward me. “It is yours. I traded for it.” When my left eye squinted suspiciously, he quickly added, “Fairly.”

Excitement flooded me. I’d get to keep the items and do something about the awful knots in my hair. I realized how much, back on Earth, I’d taken for granted. A simple comb and some conditioner had made my day.

Seriously. If aliens knew how much the simple things meant to human girls when modern conveniences were taken away, they’d get so much ass.

Not that I was thinking of giving it up to Dason for a comb and conditioner, but...

I tried to think on what gifts I’d received from people back home that made me happy, but I became aware that I’d never been given a gift from anyone besides my dad and Preta.

There was that Christmas, three years ago, when my handler, Jamie, gave me Gottfried Köhler’s file—the German head of a Russian terrorist group that started making too many waves.

I’d never been to Moscow, and I wanted to see the Grand Kremlin Palace before it fell.

That was an assignment, I knew, but it was the closest thing to a present anyone had given me outside my small family.

I ran my fingers over the pearlescent comb, unsure how to feel at my sudden realization of how lonely my life, and ex-career, on Earth really was.

“Come here,” I crooked a finger. A curious glint sparked in Dason’s eyes, but he bent forward. I rose onto my tip-toes and grasped his jaw, turning his face to the side before I planted a kiss on his cheek. “Thank you.”

His eyes swirled with storms when I pulled away, and it was my turn to smirk. I snatched the little pot from him and closed the door in his goofy face.

By the time I worked out all the knots, the shallow bathwater was cold. Kahn had already left when I sat down, but he must’ve cooked me a small fish before he left, because it sat on the table, along with a bowl of seaweed.

I didn’t know why they gave me seaweed—they didn’t seem to eat anything but raw protein—but I choked some down. It was salty, and easy to chew, but its cold, watery texture reminded me of overcooked noodles.

  Ugh.

Dason’s elbows rested on the table and his eyes followed the bowl when I slid it away, half full.

“Do humans not need plants for nutrition?” His gaze dropped to my mouth. “You have many flat teeth.”

I couldn’t help the uncertain grin. “Is that why you guys keep giving me seaweed?”

He tilted his head in question and I jabbed a finger at the bowl.

“Yes, qesh leaf. It will clean your teeth, too.”

I ran my tongue over my teeth, surprised to feel their smooth texture when I hadn’t seen a toothbrush in a while. I was secretly thankful it wasn’t minty. I never wanted to smell that scent again.

He leaned forward in his chair to finger one of my smooth, tangle-free, dark red curls. “Very soft,” he murmured.

When I didn’t say anything or pull away, he slipped his fingers deeper into the mass, grasping and feeling. My eyelids drooped and I didn’t know why that felt so good.

I’d only been here five days—a mere three conscious—and already these aliens—I mean, valos—had saved me from a murderous mob, watched over me, given me gifts, and touched me more than I was used to anyone touching me.

Dason ran his fingers through my hair, the storms in his eyes luring me forward, and I couldn’t even muster up the rage about him dragging me to this city where I’d been trapped, unable to reach Preta.

The anger sparked, but there was nothing in me to catch that fire.

I licked my lips, tilting my head into his hand, and I imagined this was how dogs felt when they were pet by their owner. I wanted to lazily stretch and feel his skin against mine.

It lulled me into complacency, and when Dason leaned in further, his face inches from mine, his warm, scentless breath fanning my chin, I didn’t pull away.

His fingers gently gripped the curls at the back of my head and my lips parted. I could feel my pulse thrumming under the skin of my throat, and I silently hoped that he’d kiss me.

My brain waffled for two seconds as I tried to decide if he could read my thoughts when his mouth captured mine. Only two seconds.

I moaned into his mouth, unsure why it felt like the room was spinning when all he’d done was press his mouth to mine.

He lifted his head only to angle his face and came at my lips again, gently tugging with his own.

Fuck, this isn’t going to end well.

That small contact, coupled with his hand gripping my hair, opened the floodgates below.

My hands found his shoulders, nails curling into his skin. He grasped my side, pulling me to him. My feet scrambled across the small space that separated us as I moved from my chair and slid into his lap, thighs wrapping his middle without even lifting off his mouth.

The orgasm Zaid had given me yesterday morning had my body fiending for another one. Every time I thought about it, I got the wiggles.

A flash of guilt crossed my mind. What was I even doing? I shouldn’t be thinking about Dason’s roommate when I was straddling his lap and sucking his m—

My mind blanked when Dason pulled my hips tight enough to him that his cock pressed against my pussy. I suddenly regretted my decision to put on shorts.

If I had any inhibitions initially about fucking an alien, they were slowly deteriorating with every soft stroke of Dason’s tongue. He kissed me like he’d never explored this kind of contact with a human before.

Probably wasn’t far from the truth since I was the first human any of them had ever seen.

I yelped, breaking the kiss quickly when a sharp pain pricked my tongue. The tang of blood filled my mouth and I touched the spot, my finger coming away crimson.

“Are you all right?” Dason asked, breathing heavy. I could see the tinge of red on his lip. One of his sharp teeth cut me.

“Yeah,” I swallowed, the coppery taste more potent now. “I think I’ll survive.” Wasn’t the first time I’d tasted blood. I’d been punched in the mouth more than my fair share thanks to my stellar ex-career.

The interruption cleared my head and I realized just how crazy my vagina could be if I let her do all the thinking. Thankfully, my brain took over and I unwrapped my legs from Dason, standing on my feet and off his dangerous lap.

I shoved a hand into my curls, cleared my throat, and avoided looking at the tempting outline of his hardened cock straining against his tight black thermals.

“So,” I finally shifted when he rose and straightened the chair, “is it your turn to take a human to work?”

  Dason, never serious, grinned.

  FIFTEEN

WHEN I OPENED MY EYES, it was dark. Pitch black. I could see no light at all, and if I didn’t feel arms holding me to a naked body, I’d be worried that I’d gone blind.

My breathing was labored, and I was soaked.

Not the sweaty kind of soaked. The turned-on, wet-dream kind of soaked. My body was alive and sensitive. My rock-hard nipples dug into the warm chest I pressed up against, and my fingers spread over the muscles there.

Why didn’t they let me sleep on the couch? Were they incapable of respecting my wishes—just one tiny request—and allowing me to sleep in peace?

That flare of anger sparked, but it quickly fizzled out when the person beside me breathed deeply in his sleep.

I couldn’t help myself when I curled my fingers, my nails gently digging in. I wasn’t sure who was beside me. Did I care? Not really.

My dream evaded my memory, but I knew I liked it. Liked it a little too much, if my slippery thighs were any indication.

The body I clung to stirred, and I knew exactly the moment he woke. His breathing grew shallow, his once lax muscles tightened and flinched against my nails.

I had one thing on my mind: getting off. If I was on the couch, I could get this over with quick a
nd painless without disturbing anyone. But I wasn’t on the couch.

  I was in someone’s bed.

Next to a naked, warm, deliciously toned body.

My palms roved up his chest, and his arms gripped me before he loosened his hold and explored, dragging his palm over my hip.

Upward my curious fingers swept, over the curve of a neck, the tips bumping against a strong jaw and two sharp nubs.

It was Lonan or Kahn, the only ones with jaw spikes.

My hand slid back to the nape of his neck where I curled my fingers into longer strands of silken hair.

  Lonan.

  Kahn had shorter hair.

Lonan’s breath quickened since I began my quest to find out who I was beside.

I whispered, “Can you see me?”

“Yes,” his rich voice whispered in return. It was breathy, and a little groggy, causing the skin at the base of my spine to tingle.

I licked my lips, and he squeezed my hip, making me squirm. His hand rested so very close to the spot I wanted it to be.

“Touch me,” I breathed, cupping his jaw again, thumb brushing over his smooth spikes. “I don’t care where, just touch me.”

My mouth suddenly went dry when his hand slid up my shirt and dragged against my fevered skin. The rough patches on his palms created a friction that had me arching into him.

It was like a livewire touched me, and I vaguely wondered if he was using his electricity.

I tried hard not to make noise, but the moan that escaped me when his hand slid up my stomach and brushed over my painfully tightened nipple just couldn’t be suppressed.

The low clicking in his throat vibrated through me, causing a pleasurable shiver. My fingers curled against his nape, and I lifted my face to meet his, our mouths locking.

His hand kneaded my breast. My sex clenched, the need to be filled growing to an unbearable point. I needed friction. I needed pressure. I needed something.

“Lonan,” I moaned when I came up for air. “I need more.”

He hadn’t given me anything other than touching, which I loved, don’t get me wrong. I just needed more of it, in various places.

  No, just one place.

I dragged his hand down my body, pushing it toward my pussy.

He got the idea, and I felt him move away from me. What I didn’t expect was for him to grab me around the middle and position me in the center of his bed.

Hovering over me, his hair tickled my skin as he pushed my shirt up, leaning low to kiss a path downward.

The excitement I felt when his lips touched my navel, getting closer and closer to my pussy, was something I’ve never experienced with anyone else.

Normally I was ready to get it over with, but with Lonan, I craved it. I wanted his mouth against me.

A second pair of lips pressed against my shoulder. I jerked unexpectedly, a surprised gasp leaving me before I relaxed again, nervously chuckling. The mouth came back, nipping at my skin, lips dragging up the side of my neck while Lonan slowly pulled my shorts off me.

I slid a palm over the head of the person kissing my neck, assessing him the same way I did with Lonan. My hand encountered a mohawk.

“Dason.” I smiled in the dark.

He groaned on the next kiss below my ear, and I could tell he was happy that I figured out his identity by feel.

A hand slid up my other side, and I didn’t even need to do any exploring of my own to know who it was. I could never forget that big hand and those thick fingers.

“Zaid.” I bit my bottom lip, wishing he’d make use of his f—

“Oh!” My mouth opened and my thighs tightened around Lonan’s head. He kissed my bare mound and he gripped my knees, spreading them apart.

It’d been a while, and maybe I was a little too excited.

The taboo sensation of multiple men feeling me up at the same time sent my pussy into overdrive. I was so worked up I might’ve busted before Lonan got any further.

His warm breath fanned my exposed sex, and I knew—even without being able to see in the dark—he was examining me.

The anticipation was killing me. Literally. This speedy bashing of my pulse couldn’t be healthy for my body.

His thumbs caressed my inner thighs. I suddenly wished I had night vision just so I could watch him.

“Lonan!” I complained, my hips humping upward.

A stray chuckle reached me, but I didn’t know who it came from.

Zaid’s big hand closed over a breast, and I squirmed. When he tugged at the nipple, testing it, I started spiraling.

An orgasm crashed into me, my body wriggling beneath their exploring hands. My legs involuntarily twitched and tried to slam together, but Lonan kept them open, and my muscles strained.

The breath trapped in my lungs expelled and my back arched on the last wave.

I was done for. I didn’t know what I’d gotten myself into, because Lonan’s hot tongue took a swipe at my slit, and a strangled cry squeaked from my throat.

That was all it took. One swipe, and he dove in, growling as he buried his face in my pussy like some ravenous alien beast.

I was caught between an incredulous laugh, and another moan when he quickly learned what spots made me twist in the best way.

Like synchronized swimmers, Zaid and Dason wrapped their lips around my nipples at the same time, one on each. The sensations overwhelmed me, and it didn’t take long for another orgasm to build.

  “More,” I begged.

Lonan dipped a finger inside me, and then I was gone. Again.

I didn’t understand what was happening. My whole life, I’d never gotten off with any of my partners unless I did the work myself, yet here I was, coming down off orgasm number two and no one was fucking me yet.

“Where’s Kahn?” I asked once I’d caught my breath again, though it was hard to concentrate with Lonan kissing up my thigh.

A bolt of blue electricity lit up and quickly disappeared to my left.

“I’m here,” he said, from the same direction as the quick blip of light.

  “Why aren’t you touching me?”

The static thickened, I could feel it crackling against my skin.

“I can’t.” His voice was strained. “It’s not safe.”

  “What?” Maybe I had fog-brain, but I didn’t understand.

“His current,” Lonan said from between my legs.

“If I come any closer,” Kahn groaned, and I could almost feel the intensity of his stare without being able to see him, “I might hurt you.”

Frankly, I didn’t want to be electrocuted, and it sobered me up a bit. But a part of me wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight if Kahn didn’t touch me.

“Concentrate.” Lonan’s tone was reassuring, like he had every confidence in Kahn’s ability to control his current.

Kahn didn’t seem to make a move toward me. No one moved, no shuffling could be heard. I wiggled, curling over to my side as I got up onto my knees.

“Lay down,” I said to the dark, patting the bed below me.

“Why?” Kahn’s suspicion was plain, and I smirked.

  “Just listen to me.”

Silence prevailed, and for a few moments I thought I might have to repeat myself, but then I felt the bed dip, and the static grow. It was more aggressive now that he was closer. It shocked me when I touched the muscle along his stomach.

I didn’t mean to—it was just the first thing my hand landed on.

Another spark of electricity glowed in the dark before it disappeared again.

“Put your hands above your head,” I told him. Again, the silence was stilted, but then I felt him shift. I had to bite my lips to keep from grinning. “Keep them there, okay?”

  “All right... Stop smirking.”

I full on smiled, chuckling a little bit, the others joining me before it died down and I started my exploration. I knew exactly what I would do, and the thought had my pussy clenching with renewed arousal.

What the hell was I re
ally doing, though? Now that I’d come down from two orgasms, I should’ve had my fill, and my sex-brain should’ve cleared, but... it hadn’t.

My need for the valos surrounding me smoothed away the inhibitions I had. Human inhibitions. What if something went terribly wrong?

I carefully swung a leg over Kahn so I could straddle his stomach. The static popped me again, connecting with my fingertips when I pressed them against his chest.

What if I get an alien STD?

The thought almost made me laugh.

The static died down when the air got heavy. Dason must have been manipulating the humidity again to counteract Kahn’s electricity. When I dipped forward to kiss the base of his neck, I didn’t get shocked, but his answering groan spurred me on.

I supposed I’d better enjoy myself if I was going to risk my health.

  Go for the gold.

I flicked the tip of my tongue against his skin, and a spark of electricity buzzed over his arm, taking longer to die down than the last one. The light illuminated his hands gripping the decorative coral headboard above his head.

I smiled again, happy that he listened to me. “Good boy,” I teased, and Kahn snorted, like he wasn’t enjoying it.

Just for that, I bit his shoulder.

He flinched, both of his arms lighting up like a fucking flare, and the glow cast a ghostly hue around us. I could finally see all of them in the cast of shadows.

“You’re supposed to be concentrating.” I arched a brow, and snickered at his low grumble. His arms still shone a bright, electric, crackling blue, so I leaned forward to press my mouth to his, flicking my tongue against his lips.

He opened for me and I grasped his muscled jaw. His spikes dug into my palm, but it wasn’t uncomfortable. I lifted my mouth, kissing along his cheekbone, creating a trail until I nipped at his ear.

It didn’t help the current situation. If anything, it just got worse.

“Don’t start a fire,” I mumbled in between kissing down the tight skin of his chest. I flicked his nipple.

  “Not... helping,” he gritted.

I smothered a bubble of laughter. “Just you wait...”

The notion that my actions could result in my death didn’t get lost on me. What a way to go, if so. Death by electrocution while giving head to an alien man.
