Worst Case Scenario Page 15

“You’re a damn fool if you think Stori is still with Gavin after finding out about Summer. That bitch is probably fucking Nas on some catch back shit,” Misty said, giving Milan a lot to think about.

“Bitch, I would put a hit out on him and that hoe if I even thought that was true,” Milan fumed.

“With what money boo? Maybe you need to think about coming back to the club. I’m sure your money is running low and, without Nas, it’s only gonna get lower,” Misty said.

“I’d sell my ass on the nearest corner before I give them hoes the satisfaction of seeing me dance at Twin Tails again. Nas is just acting stupid but he’ll be back,” Milan assured her.

“Don’t be too sure boo. Pinky said that him and Stori came out of the office together and left soon after,” Misty said, repeating what she’d heard.

“Pinky needs to go sit her lopsided ass down somewhere. That bitch is always gossiping.” Milan frowned.

“Say what you want but that bitch be on point,” Misty replied, right as someone rang the doorbell.

Her and Milan looked at each other to see who was going to move first. Misty was nursing her wounds, so she really didn’t care who it was. Summer was with Gavin’s parents and she was free to do nothing. She wasn’t even going to tell them that she wasn’t going to work that night. She loved her daughter but she needed a break.

“Your lazy ass,” Milan fussed as she got up to go see who was at the door. She smirked when she saw Gavin standing there holding Summer and her diaper bag. Misty thought she had a free weekend but her day was about to be ruined.

“What’s up?” Gavin spoke as he walked inside.

He went into the living room and didn’t even bother saying anything to Misty. He hated her hoe ass after the stunt she pulled with Stori. He still took care of his daughter but he wasn’t fucking with Misty unless it had to do with Summer.

“What are you doing here? I have to work,” Misty lied.

“That’s not my problem. My mama made plans and she can’t babysit,” Gavin said as he kissed Summer and sat her bag down.

“She told me that she was keeping her for the whole weekend.” Misty replied.

“Shit happens and things change. Besides, I saw that video just like everybody else. You ain’t going to no club looking like that,” Gavin snickered as he pointed to her bruised face.

“It’s all good. Tell your bitch she gon’ see me again,” Misty said.

“My wife got them hands but I’m sure you know that already,” Gavin laughed.

“Boy, fuck you! I see I can’t depend on y’all to babysit either,” Misty snapped as she took Summer out of her car seat.

“Well, stop being a hoe and get a day job. I’ll be happy to pay for daycare,” Gavin replied as he walked out of the house.

“Stupid ass bitch is worthless, just like her son.” Misty frowned while speaking of Gavin’s mother. They hadn’t even known each other long and shit was going left already.

From day one, Karen let her know that she didn’t like her and nothing about her. Misty wasn’t allowed at their house and Gavin was the one who picked Summer up and dropped her off. She had to call Gavin if she wanted to check on her daughter because Karen didn’t want Misty with her number. She was a disrespectful old bitch but she was Misty’s only help. She thought she was reliable but she was obviously mistaken. Gavin must have told his mother something because she had never sent Summer home early. It had only been a short time since she found out about Summer but she was crazy about her already.

“You better be happy that she’s even helping at all. Summer is not her responsibility,” Milan said, interrupting her thoughts.

“Fuck them. She better be happy that her hoe ass son ain’t on child support,” Misty replied.

“That’s fucked up Misty. That man takes care of his baby. You’re mad because he ain’t dropping dick off in you no more.” Milan smiled, enjoying getting under Misty’s skin.

“Sex is very easy to get boo. Mad niggas be begging to dig up in these walls. You just worry about who your husband is dropping dick off in. If what Pinky said is true, you and Gavin will be crying on each other’s shoulders soon,” Misty said as she walked away with her daughter.

The smile on Milan’s face dropped when she said that. Nas was a dog and there was no disputing that. She just didn’t see Stori in the same light. Stori was about her business. The only thing that mattered to her was Toi and her shop. Her and Nas weren’t even on the same level. Still, Milan went to Nas’ Instagram page just to see what he had been up to.

It took two whole weeks before Gavin finally went back to work. The bruises on his face had healed but the ones on his heart remained. He begged and pleaded with Stori to talk to him but she had no words. And if that wasn’t bad enough, she’d had him served with divorce papers at his parents’ house the day before. Gavin was sick, both mentally and physically. He’d just finished eating when he read over the documents and threw everything right back up. He was heartbroken that Stori wasn’t even trying to hear him out. She answered for his mother and talked to her for a while. She’d even let Karen come to the house to get some of his stuff. She made it clear to her that she was done with Gavin and Karen didn’t blame her. As much as she loved Stori, she knew that she deserved more than what her son had given her. Gavin wasn’t giving up though. While on his way to work, he dialed Stori’s number again using an app and, to his surprise, she answered.

“Yes Gavin,” Stori said when she picked up. She knew that it was him because he had been calling from all kinds of weird numbers since she had him blocked. Gavin was almost at a loss for words because he wasn’t expecting her to answer at all.

“Can we talk Stori? Baby please, I just need you to hear me out,” Gavin begged.

  “I’m listening,” Stori noted.

“No, not over the phone. I want us to talk face to face,” Gavin said.

“Sorry, but that’s not happening. It was childish of me not to talk to you before now but I can’t run from this conversation forever. You really don’t even need to waste your time trying to explain anything. Truthfully, I’m more angry than I am hurt. All those months you spent begging me to give you a baby, knowing that you already had one. Then, to involve Toi the way you did is just unforgivable,” Stori rambled.

“I wish everybody would stop saying that. I wasn’t the one who asked you if Toi could babysit. That was all on Misty,” Gavin replied.

“But, you could have intervened Gavin. You could have been a man for once and put a stop to it. It broke my heart to see my sister crying over some bullshit that you created. Everything that I do is to make her smile and you temporarily took that away from her. It’s all good though. Just sign them papers and we won’t have no problems,” Stori said.

“Just like that Stori? You act like you don’t even care. I don’t even know why I’m surprised by your nonchalant attitude. It’s not like you ever gave a fuck about a nigga anyway. Toi got shown more love than I did. You’re right, everything you did was to make her smile because you damn sure didn’t care if I was happy or not. She was your baby and your Stanka, but I was just plain ole Gavin. All those years we were together and nothing changed. At least Misty made me feel wanted,” Gavin argued.

“Don’t even go there with me, Gavin. You knew how I felt from day one because I kept it real and told you. If the bitch made you feel so much better than I did, you should have let me go and married her ass. Trust me, I would have been fine either way. There is no excuse that you can give that will justify you fathering a child with another woman. As my husband, any problems that you had with our marriage should have been discussed with me, your wife,” Stori pointed out.

“I tried to tell you how I felt more than once. You never even tried to take my feelings into consideration. I couldn’t even pick out a damn meal for my wife to cook,” Gavin argued.

“You sound like a spoiled lil bitch Gavin. What grown ass man tries to compete with a fourteen year old? To
i and I have a special bond and you knew that from day one. You had me fucked up if you thought you were gonna come in between that. You do right to be back under your mama’s roof since you act like a fucking thirty year old baby. We’ve both said what we needed to say so make this your last time calling me,” Stori said, right as he pulled up to the shop.

“Stori! Hello! Fuck!” Gavin yelled when he realized that she’d hung up.

He felt like crying. The conversation with Stori didn’t go anything like he wanted it to. He could admit that he was wrong but he wasn’t giving up on his wife or his marriage. With a heavy heart, Gavin got out of his car and prepared to work for a little while.

Tuesdays at the barber shop were usually slow. Gavin wasn’t surprised when he saw most of the barbers standing out front talking. He spoke to everyone as he made his way into the shop to look for Nas. He spotted him sitting in his chair with his feet propped up on his work station. Nas was talking to a customer, but the other man gave him dap and started walking away when he saw Gavin approaching.

“Damn bruh. You’re a hard ass nigga to catch up with,” Gavin said as he walked up and gave Nas dap.

“Been busy,” Nas said uncaringly as he scrolled on his phone.

“For two whole weeks nigga?” Gavin asked.

  “Basically.” Nas shrugged.

“Damn boy, them bitches look nice as fuck. That must be some new shit,” Gavin said as he admired the black spiked red bottom tennis shoes that Nas had on.

“Yeah, something like that,” Nas replied nonchalantly.

“I gotta go snatch me a pair of them bitches,” Gavin said, sounding like a groupie.

“What’s good Gavin? You been blowing me up for two whole weeks,” Nas noted.

“Man, so much shit has been happening lately bruh. I was really trying to tell you to chill out from going to the house for a minute,” Gavin replied.

“Why is that?” Nas asked as if he didn’t already know.

“Stori ain’t been fucking with a nigga like that lately. That bitch Misty came over there and dropped Summer off. Bitch told Stori that she was my daughter and everything. I ended up having to bring her by my people and that was even more bullshit that I had to deal with. I saw the video of Stori tagging that ass Friday night. That’s good for that bitch,” Gavin ranted.

He was shocked as hell to see Stori posted up in the strip club. When he saw her beating the dog shit out of Misty, he understood why she went. He saw that Misty had responded to one of Pinky’s messages under the post telling her that she was taking a few days off. Gavin wasted no time packing Summer up and bringing her right back home. His mother didn’t mind babysitting because she was getting to know her granddaughter. Misty had him fucked up if she thought she was going to use her though. Karen already hated her and they had never even met.

“When’s the last time you talked to Stori?” Nas asked after a long pause. Stori told him that she was going to answer for him the next time he called from one of those bogus numbers. Nas wanted to see if that had happened yet. He also wanted to know if Stori had told him that she had moved on. Just by Gavin’s conversation, Nas knew that she hadn’t.

“I just hung up with her a few minutes ago. Before that, I hadn’t talked to her since all that shit happened. The conversation went all the way left too. I told her ass how I felt and we ended up arguing. I’m her husband but her sister gets treated like she’s paying all the bills,” Gavin said, sounding like a whining lil bitch to Nas.

“How the fuck are you jealous of a fourteen year old lil girl bruh?” Nas asked with a disgusted frown.

“I’m not jealous of nobody. Toi is alright but I just had to voice my opinion. I’m going crazy though, bruh. Stori won’t even let a nigga come see her,” Gavin sighed.

Stori had blocked his number the day she put him out. Gavin tried calling from his parents’ house phone and his father’s cell phone. The minute she heard his voice, she would hang up on him. He tried messaging her on Instagram and he even called Toi’s phone. Nothing worked and he was stressing. He knew that Stori would never change her number because that was how she made her money. She didn’t do walk-ins, so her clients had to call for appointments. When he found out about the app, he tried it out and was pleased to know that it really worked. Each time he called, it seemed as if a different number showed up to the person that he was calling.

“I hear you,” Nas said, not really giving him much conversation.

“I’m trying to give her some time but this shit is frustrating,” Gavin replied.

“Give her some time for what?” Nas asked as he put his feet on the floor and stood up.

He was praying that Gavin didn’t let something stupid come out of his mouth. Nas was about to lay him the fuck out if it did. He wasn’t into keeping secrets and shit but he promised Stori that he would. He felt lame as fuck looking in Gavin’s face like everything was all good. He didn’t know why Stori didn’t want him to know yet, but he was following her lead.

“I’m trying not to just pop up over there and make her ass talk to me. She sent me some divorce papers but I threw that shit in the trash. I’m not signing shit,” Gavin fumed.

“Yeah, you might want to reconsider that. You need to go ahead and sign that shit fam,” Nas replied.

“Hell no bruh. I’m having withdrawals already. It’ll be over my dead body before another nigga hit that good pussy,” Gavin joked, making Nas turned red with anger.

“Nigga, check it, Stori is my-,” Nas started before he was abruptly cut off.

“Aye bro, when you finish talking to your bitch, I need you to line me up right quick. I’m taking my wife shopping and out to lunch,” Remo said when he came busting through the door.

He bumped into Gavin as he made his way over to his brother’s chair and sat down. As usual, Remo came in at just the right time. Nas was about two seconds away from hurting Gavin’s feelings. Stori would have been pissed with him, so he was happy that things played out the way that they did.

“Say Remo, you got a problem with me or something?” Gavin asked, sounding like he was really about that life. He was fed up with Remo treating him like a bitch. He had never done anything to him and he didn’t know why he hated him so much. Remo was always coming at him sideways and that was the first time that Nas ever saw Gavin defend himself.

“Nigga what?” Remo frowned as he tried to get up from the chair. That was the day he had been waiting for. He was ready to put Gavin to sleep right there in the barber shop.

“Chill bro,” Nas said as he pushed him back down by his shoulder and whispered something in his ear. He needed Remo to remain calm for Stori’s sake if nothing else.

“You’re right bro, you’re so right.” Remo nodded with a devious smile on his face. The time was coming for Gavin to get what was coming to him and Remo couldn’t wait.

“Where Kalani at?” Nas asked, trying to change the subject.

“She’s getting her hair curled. I just left from by my sis getting my dreads hooked up,” Remo said as he smirked at Gavin.

“I’ll talk to you later brother. I’m going make a run right quick,” Gavin said as he looked at Nas and walked out of the shop.

“Brother? Did that bitch ass nigga just call you brother?” Remo asked angrily.

“Relax bro, it’s just a word,” Nas replied.

“Nah, not to me it ain’t. And you’re good with him calling you that shit?” Remo asked as he turned around to face his twin.

“The fuck you want me to say bruh? I know who my brother is,” Nas replied.

“Yeah, well, you better act like it,” Remo said as a frown marred his face.

“What’s up with you, dog? You must be having a bad day. You need a hug or something nigga?” Nas asked him.

“You fucking right I do,” Remo replied.

Nas shook his head as he pulled him up from the chair and gave him a brotherly hug. Remo was possessive like a bitch sometimes, but Nas was used to it. He had been
that way since they were kids and he didn’t want anybody to get too close to his twin brother. He wasn’t like that with females but he wasn’t letting another nigga step in and take his place in Nas’ life. Nas barely had friends when they were in school because Remo was always beating them up. Their father used to stress to them how important it was for them to stay close. He always told them that they were two bodies with one heartbeat and Remo took that shit seriously. It was so real to him that he convinced Nas to get a tattoo with that quote on his back to match his.

“You feel better now?” Nas asked once they pulled away.

“I’m straight,” Remo smirked as he sat back in his brother’s barber chair.

“Stop acting like a lil bitch all the time. You know a nigga love your stupid ass,” Nas said.

“I love you too bro,” Remo replied while smiling like a big ass kid.

K alani sat in the stall and listened to two of the dancers as they talked. She had just walked into the bathroom when Misty and Pinky walked in right behind her. Kalani usually used the private bathroom that was next to Nas and Remo’s office, but she was too pushed to make it up the stairs.

“Girl yes, she was in here crying and looking like she was about to lose it,” Misty said to Pinky as they touched up their makeup.

“That’s fucked up. Them niggas look good as fuck but they’re identical twin man whores,” Pinky replied.

  “Especially Remo,” Misty said loudly.

She saw when Kalani walked into the bathroom and she pulled Pinky inside to talk soon after. Pinky was oblivious to the game that Misty was playing but she was playing her part well.

“He needs to just stop with the foolishness. Everybody can see that Kalani got him wrapped around her finger. I don’t even know why he’s wasting time on other women when he’s clearly in love with her.” Pinky said as Misty frowned. That was not something that Misty wanted her to say.
