"He doesn't date, he's the same as Sin," she retorted.
I let out a heavy sigh.
"I'm not interested in dating anyone either, so let's go and see what happens," I replied. I felt a little guilty because I had made plans to go out with Caleb the following week, but it wasn't like one plan to meet up meant we were dating.
This whole dating thing could get quite confusing with what was considered a date, or what was considered just hanging out. Then you got people who dated exclusively and then there were couples who didn't. Finding someone I think was hard enough; throwing in all that stuff just made the whole process more complicated.
"Okay," she relented. "I'm sorry for giving you a hard time about it. It's just that I don't want you to get hurt."
"I get it, I'm not looking to get hurt, I just want to live a little. Is that so bad?" I replied.
"No, it isn't."
When Friday night arrived, I began to feel a little nervous about the party. I kept telling myself that I didn't care that Sin would be there probably draped over some random girl. It was time to forget about him and his rejection. I needed to move on.
Jordan and I spent a couple of hours getting ready. I was getting better at putting on my own makeup.
"Yeah, that's much better," Jordan commented as she surveyed my made-up face.
This time I surprised myself by going for a skirt. Granted, it wasn't as short as the one Jordan had made me wear the first time I'd met Sin. This one was short enough for me to show off my slender legs and not make me feel like I was going to be flashing my panties if I wasn't careful. I was dressing to make myself feel more confident, and I wanted to look beautiful. I wanted to go to this party tonight, maybe have a few drinks, and have a good time. It was time to forget about Sin and his rejection.
By the time we made it to the party, the house was packed. This time I entered first with Jordan following behind me. My eyes scanned the living room for any signs of Slater, but I couldn't see him.
Deciding he might be in the kitchen, I began to push my way with the crowd that was dancing to the beat of the blaring music. As I got closer to the kitchen, I saw Sin. My heart skipped a beat as I watched him chat up some girl. She was pretty, and it made me feel a little deflated.
I reminded myself that coming to this party had nothing to do with Sin, and I needed to forget about him. I was at this party to act my age and to have fun. I was about to look away when he looked up, and our eyes met. The impact of his gaze was unmistakable on me as I felt my stomach flutter. He looked surprised and then I saw his lips press together as he continued to look at me.
I pulled my gaze away from his and continued my way to the kitchen. I felt the heat of Sin's gaze as my heart still hammered inside of my chest. Thankfully Slater was in the kitchen when I entered.
"You made it," he said. He actually sounded surprised to see me although I'd told him I was coming.
"Yeah. This is my friend Jordan," I said, introducing him to Jordan.
"Nice to meet you. You have pretty friends," he bluntly said, and I swear I saw Jordan blush. The thing about Slater was he was a charmer. He knew exactly what to say to get a girl to do whatever he wanted.
I shook my head at him as I smiled.
"Do you want a drink?" he asked, surveying the different bottles of alcohol that covered the kitchen counter.
"Yes, I do."
I was determined to have fun tonight, no matter what.
CHAPTER SIX
Taylor
"Tequila?" he questioned mischievously.
I looked to Jordan, and we nodded our heads in agreement. He poured the liquid into three shot glasses. I'd never had a shot of alcohol before. I picked up the shot glass filled with tequila, and I was about to knock it back, but Slater stopped me.
"You need to do the salt first, and you can't forget about the lemon," he said. I gave him a confused look. What did salt and lemon have to do with drinking tequila?
"You've never had a shot of tequila, have you?" he asked, looking a little surprised. I shook my head.
Did I have everything tattooed on my forehead?
"This is how you drink a shot of tequila," he said. He licked a spot on the back of his right hand, and he took the saltshaker and sprinkled some salt over it. With his eyes still on me, he licked the salt off his hand and then knocked back the shot. Then he took a piece of lemon and sucked on it. He grimaced, then took the lemon out of his mouth.
"Does it taste that bad?" I asked, still watching his expression.
"No," he said, shaking his head with a smile.
"Your turn," he informed Jordan as he handed her the saltshaker. She licked a spot on her hand and sprinkled the salt over it, then she handed it back to Slater.
"Bottoms up," she said as she knocked the shot back. Then she swallowed it. She grabbed a slice of lemon off a plate on the kitchen counter and sucked on it.
"Your turn," Slater informed me as he handed me the saltshaker. I followed their actions except after I knocked back the tequila I began to splutter. The alcohol burned its way down my throat.
"Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it," he assured me as he patted my back. Jordan was still laughing at me.
The stuff tastes horrible!
"I'm...not sure...I want to," I muttered.
We did two more rounds of tequila shots before I called it quits. I wanted to drink and have fun; I didn't want to end up passing out and not remembering the night. Jordan and Slater did one more round without me before we all headed to the dance floor. The effects of the alcohol were taking effect, and I felt myself enjoying the sound of the music. I was probably tipsy at this point and, along with Jordan, I was singing to a song blaring through the house. Slater was dancing with us, laughing at our feeble attempts to keep in tune with the song.
Through the mass of bodies dancing against each other, I caught Sin's gaze fastened on me. The intensity of it shivered through me. For once he was standing alone. I held his gaze for a few moments before I turned away. He'd had his chance, and he'd turned me down. If the opportunity arose and I found a nice guy, I may even decide to have sex. Slater leaned closer.
"Are you having fun?" he asked as he smiled at me.
"Yes," I answered as I beamed at him.
He was about to lean closer when I felt a hand wrap around my wrist. Taken by surprise, I turned to see the owner of the hand standing beside me, glaring at his friend. The look he shot Slater made his friend back away from me and he lifted his hands in mock surrender. Even Jordan looked a little shocked at what she was witnessing.
I was still trying to figure out what was going on when Sin pulled me by the wrist off the dance floor. I didn't miss the curious looks we got as Sin led me up the stairs to his room. I could just imagine what everyone thought as they watched me disappear up the stairs.
Once inside his bedroom, he closed the door and turned to face me. My legs felt a little wobbly, so I sat down on the edge of his bed. Maybe I was more than just a little tipsy.
"What the hell are you doing?" he asked as he crossed his arms over his chest. I felt like a child being spoken to by a parent.
"Whatever I want," I shot back. I was old enough to make my own decisions and my own mistakes. I didn't have to answer to anybody, least of all him. Besides, I was having such a nice time, and he'd ruined it. I crossed my arms and glared at him.
"I told you to go and find someone special to share it with," he lectured me angrily. "Not to go to a house party, get drunk and see who you end up with."
"Who do you think you are?" I asked angrily. He remained silent.
"You know what? You don't get to lecture me," I said as I stood up. "I already have one protective brother and I don't need another one."
He said nothing, and just studied me with a glare.
"Your friend invited me to a party and I came to let loose and have a little fun. What I do and who I do it with is none of your business."
I made a move to walk past him,
but he stopped me.
"I'm not trying to lecture you. It's just there are bad people out there, and you just seem so naive," he tried to explain as he ran a hand through his hair.
"I was talking to your friend," I reminded him. I couldn't understand why he was acting the way he was.
"Slater and I are not good guys," he stated cryptically. Our eyes held for a few moments in silence. His tongue flickered against his lip ring.
"I asked you to have sex with me and you told me no. That doesn't mean you get to tell me what to do," I explained. It was hard to not let my eyes drop to his tongue playing with his lip ring. I felt a flutter in my stomach as I gave him one last look before I tried to walk past him again but he grabbed my wrist gently, and I turned to face him.
"I changed my mind."
I looked at him with confusion for a moment.
"I want to take advantage of you," he whispered, the intensity of his gaze making my stomach flip.
"In a sober state," he finished as his eyes flickered to my lips as he took a step closer to me. I couldn't believe he'd changed his mind. I felt excited as I thought about what that entailed for a moment. Then I remembered the horrible sinking feeling when he'd turned me down.
"Who says the offer is still on the table?" I said, trying to stay calm even though I felt a shiver of excitement at the way he was looking at me. I had little experience with guys, so I had no idea how to handle Sin. He was lethal when he wanted something, and it seemed that he now wanted me.
Instead of answering me as I expected, he backed me up against the wall and I looked up at him nervously as he put his arms out against the wall on either side of me, effectively caging me in. For a moment his eyes held mine, then his eyes flickered to my lips. He leaned closer, and I felt a nervous shiver through me as I waited for him to kiss me. I'd never been kissed before.
The moment his lips touched mine, I swear I felt my knees quiver as I closed my eyes. The gentle pressure of his lips against mine made everything else around us disappear, and all that mattered was what he was doing to me. The kiss intensified as his tongue swept into my mouth. His tongue glided against mine as I opened my mouth wider. Unsure of what to do, I just followed his lead. The soft touch of his lip ring against my lips was strange at first, but as he kissed me harder, I forgot about it.
All thoughts fled from my mind as he wrapped his arms around me and moved his tongue against mine. His body pressed mine against the wall as my hands snaked around his neck and pulled him closer to me. I swear I felt the earth move. Then his mouth was gone, and I opened my eyes to stare up into his. I was still dazed, and he smirked at me. I was breathing hard, and so was he. There was no disputing it: I wanted him, and he wanted me.
"Tomorrow night," he stated as he reached out and caressed my cheek lightly with his knuckles.
"You've been drinking tonight, and I want you to be sober," he explained as his eyes held mine. I felt my stomach dip at his words.
"Go back downstairs and enjoy the rest of the party," he told me. "Meet me here tomorrow night."
I felt my head nod in agreement. He studied me for a moment before he pressed his lips to mine again. I left him in his room and went back downstairs. The curious looks followed me back to Slater and Jordan.
"What was that about?" Jordan asked loudly enough for me to hear over the music.
"It's complicated," I replied. I wasn't sure if I wanted to tell her what was happening between Sin and me. She wouldn't approve.
"I don't think he's done with you," Slater whispered into my ear and I gave him an awkward smile. There was no way I was going to say anything to Slater.
For the rest of the night, I enjoyed myself. I kept looking for Sin, but I never saw him again that evening.
Later when I was back in my dorm room with Jordan, she broached the subject. I let out a sigh.
"Look, I know that you don't approve, but... I'm going to give my virginity to Sin," I blurted out to her before I could change my mind. She looked at me liked I'd grown an extra head. I held up my hand because I knew what was coming next. She was going to lecture me on how bad Sin was.
"Look, it's not like I want to date or have a relationship with him. I just want to experience sex and lose my virginity. Who better to lose it to than someone who has had a lot of practice?" I argued.
"I just don't want him to hurt you," she tried to explain.
"I know you don't and he won't. It's only going to be one night," I insisted.
"Okay," she said, taking me by surprise. I hadn't expected her to say that.
That night I was restless and spent most of the night tossing and turning. The next day dragged. Time ticked by slowly and I tried to keep myself busy. I worked on an assignment, but my mind was preoccupied, and it was impossible to concentrate.
I showered and shaved my legs. It took me nearly an hour of trying to decide what to wear. I debated whether it would be better to wear a dress or not. Finally, I decided to go with a pair of jeans and a blue button-up top. The later it got, the more nervous I became.
"Good luck," Jordan said just before I left to go to Sin's house. It was only when I was standing outside the door that I felt the nervous knots in the pit of my stomach. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door before I could change my mind. The door opened, and Sin smiled at me.
"You came," he said as if he was surprised.
"Hi," I said, unsure of what to say as he stepped back so I could enter the house. The house was quiet, and a quick scan of the living room indicated we were alone.
"Where are your roommates?" I asked as I clutched my hands together nervously.
"They're out."
We were alone. I felt my nervousness increase.
"Do you want a soda?" he offered as he kept his gaze on me. I shook my head. He studied me for a moment.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" he asked softly.
I nodded my head. I had no doubts about it even though I was nervous.
"Okay," he said as he reached for my hand. He led me up the stairs to his bedroom.
His room was neat and clean. The main bedroom lights were off, the only light coming from a side lamp on a table beside the bed. I looked at his neatly made bed. I couldn't help wondering how clean the sheets were.
"The sheets are clean," he said in answer to my unspoken question.
"Good," I said, unable to stop myself.
Feeling so nervous, I clutched my hands together. I had no idea what to do.
"Relax," he told me as he walked slowly over to me, and I held my breath.
He studied me for another moment.
"Breathe," he instructed with a smile and I remembered to let the breath out.
His hand reached for mine, and he pulled me closer to him. His free hand went to my hip as my body came into contact with his. I looked up at him. His eyes darkened as he looked down at me. The attraction between the two of us was like an electric spark zapping between us. I wanted to run my hands over his chest, but nervousness kept my hands held tightly together so I wouldn't reach for him.
What the hell was I doing? I was so out of my comfort zone.
"I know this is your first time, and you're nervous," he said. "But you shouldn't be."
It was one thing thinking about losing my virginity and coming up with a plan to lose it. But standing in front of him actually about to do it was a whole different thing. I was too nervous to try and talk, so I kept my eyes on him while I kept silent.
"I'm going to try and make sure it feels as good as possible," he said. His words made my stomach fill with butterflies. I was finally going to experience my first time. I was nervous, excited and turned on.
His eyes flickered from my eyes to my lips and then he leaned closer. I waited with anticipation as his lips touched mine. The kiss was gentle. No longer able to stop myself, I lifted my hands and put them against his chest. As the pressure of his lips against mine increased, I felt the gentle sweep of his tongue against my lips. I opened my
mouth and felt his tongue slip in.
My hands bunched his shirt as his tongue stroked mine, and my body came alive and I felt an aching need between my legs. He pulled away for a moment to unbutton my shirt and when he pushed it off my shoulders, I shrugged out of it. It dropped to the floor as his eyes caressed my body. My nipples tightened just at the way he looked at me.
He reached for the hem of his own shirt and pulled it over his head. My eyes drifted over the muscular and ripped chest. He didn't have any tattoos there. I reached out and touched his chest with my hand. His skin was smooth and soft under my fingertips as I trailed them down to his abs. Like I'd previously thought, he had a six-pack.
While I touched him, he'd been silent, watching me as the tip of his tongue flickered against his lip ring. When my eyes lifted to him, his hands settled on my hips, and he pulled me against him. The feel of his skin against mine made my skin tingle with excitement. His hands glided through my hair as his mouth covered mine. This time the kiss was harder and more intense.
The ache between my legs intensified as he sucked gently on my tongue, and I struggled with the new wants he was waking up inside me. Slowly, his hands released my hair, and I felt them move down my sides. Gently, with his hands on my hips, he walked me backward to the bed while he kissed me. I felt the bed against the back of my knees. He broke the kiss long enough to lay me down gently.
He stood for a moment and surveyed me, then he reached for the button of my jeans and released it. He unzipped them, and as he tugged, I lifted my hips to help. Moments later his jeans dropped to the floor. My eyes went to the tent in his boxers, and I couldn't help the nervousness beginning to grow at what was going to be happening next.
His eyes surveyed me for another few moments before he got onto the bed and hovered above me. He kissed me so hard I felt my toes curl. Then his mouth left my lips, and he began to slide his tongue in-between soft kisses down my neck. At a spot at the bottom of my neck, I felt a shiver run through me, and I groaned.
"Do you like that?" he murmured as he repeated the action of kissing me gently. I closed my eyes and allowed the rush of awareness to run through me.
