Sapphire narrows her eyes. “You mean this?”
I clench my fists. “Dammit, I can’t lose her! I can’t!” I shout.
Sapphire blinks her eyes at me. “So, what do you want what from her exactly?”
Now I blink at her. “What do you mean?”
“You just want a kid, or you want it all? A kid or two, picket fence, marriage?”
I nod my head emphatically. “Yes, yes and yes.” I reach into my pocket and pull out the ring I got yesterday.
Her eyes round.
I pop the box open to reveal the huge diamond ring. “I was rushing it. I know this. But I wanted us to be engaged at least if she conceives. Then I want to marry her…” My words slow. “…wanted to marry her.” My shoulders sag. “Shit!”
Sapphire seems to change her attitude. “You were going to ask her to marry you….Today?”
I nod my head. “But what does it matter now?” I close the box and place it back in my pocket. Then I turn away and head to the limo.
“What a fucking quitter!” she yells at my back.
I spin around. “What?”
“You’re giving up? Just like that?”
I shrug. “I don’t want to. But it took me weeks to even get her trust. Now that’s gone.”
Rolling her eyes at me, she motions me back to the apartment. “Get your sorry ass over here!”
My eyes widen. She knows where she went! It feels like my heart starts beating again as I head into the apartment.
Chapter Fifteen
WINTER
I managed to stop for gas then planned on calling my brother, Seth. I mean I can’t just show up at his door with no warning. I open my phone and immediately ignore the texts from Silas. I feel tired and weepy. I look up and see a motel sign. Maybe I should just stop and check in there for the night?
Then my phone rings. It’s Sapphire. I pause, she will try to talk me into coming back maybe. Or maybe something else is wrong? I answer, “Yes, Saph?”
“Winter! Thank God!”
“What’s wrong?” I ask at her panicked tone.
“I-I was worried about you.”
“I’m okay. I feel a bit tired though.”
“Honey. You need to come home. You lit outta here like a rocket. Maybe you should slow down and consider things.”
“Things?” I ask as I rub my head. A headache is coming on from all the crying.
“Yes. You sound tired.”
“I am,” I admit. “I was thinking of getting a motel for the night.”
“That’s a good idea. How far are you from your mother’s house?”
I pause. “I’m not going there.”
“Oh? I could’ve sworn…”
“No, my mom is out of the country on some cruise.”
“Oh, then Seth’s?”
I again pause. “Yes, where else would I go?”
“I-I don’t know. I just wish you would come back home.”
“I-I can’t.”
“Geeze, Winter! You are so infuriating. Take the motel room for the night, Okay?”
I heave out a sigh. “Yeah, okay.”
“Good, so call me in the morning, all right?”
“Okay, I will.”
“Get some rest.”
“Ok. Bye.” I swipe my phone, set it in my bag and drive over to the motel.
After checking in, I get into the elevator and go up to the room. I finally get in and drop my bags. I look around. It’s all just so sad. I’m in some standard Motel 7, alone in the middle of nowhere. Here I thought I would be celebrating the news of the baby with… I shake my head. Well, that’s never gonna happen.
I sigh and walk over to the bed and drop down on it. Despite the misery and the thoughts of my failed future spinning around in my head, I instantly fall asleep.
I hear a pounding. I raise up. I don’t know how long I slept. I look around and see the room is dark.
More pounding.
I turn my head. It’s someone at my door.
I get up feeling disorientated as I stagger to the door and hit the light switch next to it. I peer into the peephole then suck in a breath. Silas? How?
He pounds again.
God, he is going to wake people up!
I pull the door open.
His face is flushed as if he’d run for miles.
“What are you doing here?”
“I came for you.” He puts his hand on the door.
“Go away!” I try to shut the door.
“I will make a scene Winter. They will have to call the police on me.”
I stare at him. Anger rises in me. “So! You deserve more handcuffs!”
He shakes his head. “Before you just throw us away can you at least, listen to me for a few minutes?”
I sigh and step aside to let him in.
He barrels in and then shuts the door.
“How did you find me?” I ask him.
“Your friend Sapphire has some talented nerd friend who was able to track your phone?”
I gasp. “That traitor! How could she—?”
“She did it because she loves you and she knows how stubborn you are.”
I again, suck in a breath. “Well, it’s a good thing I am! I will need to be that way to…”
“To what?”
To raise a baby alone. I shake my head. “Just say what you want to say then get the hell out!”
He looks troubled. “That woman you saw is my ex from a year ago. I went out with her for a month and she was so…” he stops. “I never wanted to see her again. She hasn’t let up. She came in and asked for help then sat on my lap kissing me. I didn’t even have time to react then you were there.”
I roll my eyes.
“Why would I want her? If I did, why would I spend so much time trying to get back with you?”
I pause at this.
“I mean I want you, only you!”
“Well, she is prettier than me and those boobs…”
He throws his hands up in the air. “God, she’s sickening, fake hair, fake boobs, fake eyelashes. Fake personality. And she isn’t you!”
I stare at him. It all sounds plausible but men who get caught out, always have a good story, right?
“Look. I had plans for tonight with you.”
I cross my arms over my chest. “Well, they were cancelled by you kissing that bimbo!”
“I-I didn’t…” He stops. “I know you were barely trusting me and then this happened. But my plans for tonight included this.” He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a ring box.
I gasp and place my hands over my mouth.
Silas drops to one knee in front of me and pops the box open. “I practiced a speech. My proposal. But it sucked. So, I am just going to lay it all out there.” He takes a deep breath and speaks, “I have loved you since the fourth grade when you ran up to me and pushed me on the ground. I loved you when you grew up and filled out and we went to prom together. God, I wanted you so badly back then. But I waited. Then I messed up and never got to have you. No woman ever compared. I refused to believe it was too late. I tried some wild things to just have the slimmest chance to get you back into my life. When I got to finally be your first? Handcuffs and all, it was the happiest night of my life. I love you Winter Montgomery. I want babies with you, a world with you. Please, please believe in me. Will you marry me?”
Tears fall from my eyes. I couldn’t speak.
He raises the ring box up.
I squint at it through my tears and it’s so much diamond that it almost blinds me. “I-I don’t know what…”
He sighs and lowers the box. Then he rises up and grabs me. “Ok, Plan B it is.” He swings me around and tosses me on the bed then scoots me up.
“W-what?” I’m confused and dazed from that beautiful speech.
He then raises my wrist.
I am staring at his mouth wanting to feel those lips on mine. I catch his scent and my body comes alive.
He then moves a bit, as he l
owers his lips and kisses me.
I’m lost in his kiss as he raises my arms above my head.
Then I feel it.
He keeps kissing me until I hear it.
Click, snap.
Smiling, he pulls his lips from mine.
I peer up to see my wrists are zip tied together. Gasping, I swing my stunned gaze back to his face.
“I am going to suck on these…” He yanks my blouse down and pulls my breasts out of my bra. “And...” He lowers his fingers to my skirt, then pushes past my panties sliding two fingers into my pussy. “And I will fuck this…” He plunges in deep. “Until you say one word.” He lowers his lips to my nipple and tugs it into that blazingly warm mouth of his.
My body bows up and I gasp. “W-what word?”
He keeps sucking and plunging, as I get wetter and wetter.
“What word, Silas?” I ask again with a pant.
He pulls his mouth away from my nipple just far enough to speak, “Yes, until you say yes!” He then moves to my other nipple.
I smile as I feel that hot mouth doing what it does the best. He can’t see my smile. I won’t say anything for a long time. He won’t hear anything except for my moans of pleasure. Pleasure only Mr. Silas Perfect can give me. He had me when he knelt down in front of me with that humongous rock in the box—before he even spoke.
Then after he teaches me to say yes… after several glorious orgasms, I will tell him he is going to be a husband and a daddy. He doesn’t know it yet but he gave me my baby… but really, he gave me so much more than just that.
