The Alpha's Taboo Mate (Blood Moon Lynx Book 1) Page 4

Just before she leaned closer and licked the tip, she gave him a cute little grin that sent shivers down his spine.

“Oh fuck…” Canyon squirmed in the chair, already partially shifted again, and tried to hold back. Sweat dotted his hairline and upper lip with the effort as Fiera swirled her tongue around the head of his penis.

When she ran her tongue up and down the length, he closed his eyes and concentrated. How in the hell this could feel as fucking fantastic as having his cock inside her pussy was beyond him, but it did. Oh gods, it did!.

“Fiera, wrap your lips around your teeth and take it into your mouth that way.” He may have just sealed his fate by telling her to do that, but he couldn’t take much more. He needed to come again.

She did as he asked, then took more than half of it inside. He placed a hand on each side of her head. “That’s it. Good girl. Now move your mouth up and down.”

He helped her a bit, pushing on her head to get the right rhythm, but felt like shit when she almost gagged.

But she didn’t seem to mind because she was right back on him, moving on her own now without his help. All he did was hang on, groaning out loud as the climax drew near. “I’m going to come…”

And come he did. It was even more powerful than the first one. He held her head tightly and pushed into her mouth, milking every last drop. When he finally finished, he opened his eyes and looked into hers.

  “Are you okay?”

She was still swallowing, and some of his cum was on her chin.

  “Yes.”

  “What did you think?”

“I liked it. Did I do all right?”

“Oh, Fiera…” Canyon lifted her onto his lap and held her tightly. “It was perfect. You’re perfect.”

“How long can we stay here?” She snuggled into his body and sighed.

“Seriously, we can stay a week. Longer if we want. I’ll contact Stone or Arizona and have them bring more food.”

“I don’t want to go back at all. Let’s just live here. They can’t hurt us if they can’t find us.”

A nasty sliver of icy fear shot through his heart at the pleading tone in her voice. He hadn’t meant to imply they’d be safe here forever. Not even close. Nothing had changed except the fact they were now mated. She had the mark to prove it. Nothing could undo that. All the money or stocks in the world controlled by the Medinas wouldn’t change it, but their troubles were far from over. Especially if what Canyon and his father suspected was true.

“We have the same challenges ahead of us we had an hour ago, but the difference now is that we will face them together. As one. We’re mated. What affects you affects me, and vice versa.”

When she glanced up, the weight of the world’s problems was back in her beautiful eyes. “Can you and your father really do this? Can you find out if the Medinas are behind what’s happening to my family business?”

“Of course we can. And, we have important decisions to make, starting with who to bring in to help that business from being taken over. Plus, we need to move your father into my family’s home.”

“What? Why can’t my father stay in his home?”

  “Because he’s not safe alone.”

“So now I’m supposed to tell him how and where he should live?”

“Fiera, the Medinas have come to your house more than once now. Even with you there, they didn’t hold back. They threatened you and your father. What do you think will happen once they realize we’re mated? Do you think they’ll simply leave him alone?”

“I don’t want to be afraid of them anymore.”

“You don’t have to be.” He placed his hand under her chin to turn her face toward his. “You have my family’s backing now. Once I find proof of what I know Hawke and his family are up to, I promise you I will stop them.”

The love in her eyes took his breath away. “I believe you. But convincing my father to leave his home might prove more difficult than you’re imagining.”

“He doesn’t have a choice. I’m responsible for you and him now.”

“He might not see it that way, Canyon.”

“The question of his ability to run a business has already gone before the Elders. Hawke’s threat to you wasn’t without substance. I’d stake my life on that. And once he discovers we’re mated, he certainly won’t withdraw his complaint.”

  “That’s true.”

“If the Elders declare your father unable to make his own business decisions, one of your uncles will have to step in and take responsibility for him.”

“They can barely take care of themselves. They’re not any better at running it than my father is.”

“If that’s true, what’s the point of placing it in their hands? You don’t want the Elders to make that decision, either. The most logical thing to do is let my father and me take care of your father and your family business, before the Medinas convince the Elders they are better equipped to do both.”

Canyon watched the emotions cross her face. He knew this was a lot for her to bear, and he hoped she finally realized she no longer had to go through it alone.

“What if my uncles don’t want you and your father to take over running the business?”

“I’ll challenge them. It’s my duty to do so, Fiera. You’re my mate. Your family, in the absence of alpha males to take over those kinds of duties, falls to me now. Your uncles are no fitter to fight the Medinas and run the business than your father is.”

Instead of fear, he now glimpsed determination in her eyes, and his heart soared. “I’m not saying this to force you into a decision you don’t want to make. I’m trying to outline the reality for you. You know Hawke’s family isn’t going to simply roll over and allow this to happen. The fact that we’re mated. This is going to piss them off even further, so we have to have a plan in place.”

“I know they won’t accept us as mated, and I know they won’t give up on wanting the business. Especially if what you and your father suspect is true.”

“I knew all this when Hawke declared you were his mate. I knew if I didn’t take it to the Elders, he’d force himself on you, and I’d have no chance to claim what was mine from the moment you were born.” Canyon’s hormones flared up again. How could he help that? Fiera was everything he’d ever wanted. He brushed a hand over her breast, and she moaned softly.

“I knew what I was taking on. All of it. You’re mine. I’ve always known that. And now we’re mated. The ceremony we need to plan is nothing more than a formality so all the packs can celebrate with us. It’s already done. Hawke can’t change it. His family can’t undo this.”

When he kissed her, she moaned louder, and his dick jumped to attention. “Don’t you worry about anything, Fiera. You and your father are no longer alone in this.”

As she returned his kiss, he was lost once more in the heady sensation of holding his mate. His Fiera. The one true love of his life. After releasing his mouth, she moved in his lap until she straddled him.

“You’re killing me here, woman! Rise up and lower that sweet pussy over my cock before I explode.”

The most delicious look filled her eyes. She did as he asked, wincing a bit at first, so he forced himself not to move until he felt her body relax. Then he grasped her hips and moved her up down, fucking her until he thought he’d go out of his mind with need.

“Oh … oh gods! Canyon … this is incredible!”

Her climax was crazy powerful. It made his own impossible to hold off for long. He waited until her contractions were done before letting go and spilling his seed into her once again. They held each other for long, luscious moments, letting their breathing return to normal.

Canyon told her to hang onto him tightly, and then he stood, carrying her to their bed. He sighed in contentment as her limbs wrapped around his body. He lay down with her in his arms and closed his eyes. It was time to sleep, finally. Everything they needed to do would wait until tomorrow.

  Chapter Five

  When
Fiera woke, at first she couldn’t remember where she was. The cabin was dim, lit only by the lamp Canyon had turned on when he’d brought her here. It was dark outside, and she shivered as she recalled their conversation before making love again. The dangers were still out there, waiting for them to return to the village and announce they were mated.

This wasn’t over, but as she glanced over Canyon’s sleeping form, she knew she and her father would no longer face it alone. She was mated to this man. To this beautiful man whose stunning naked body lay splayed on top of the comforter, with one hand thrown over his forehead. He would fight for her, love her, and cherish her for the rest of her life. She would sleep next to him every night for the rest of her life, and wake up in his arms every morning.

This was as real as the threat from Hawke and his horrible family, but this realization didn’t strike fear in her heart or make her stomach turn. Fiera had gone from terrified to letting Canyon touch her yesterday afternoon, because she had no longer been able to resist his charm and seduction. And because she had finally understood what his being her mate meant.

This was the way it should be. He was her mate, after all. The way he’d eased her fears and put her mind at rest, if only for a couple of precious hours, proved she’d made the right decision.

A loud grumble from her stomach left her afraid it would wake him up, so she eased out of bed and padded into the kitchen. He had stocked it well, indeed. She had no idea what time it was, but if she was this hungry, surely he would be as well once he woke. Making him something to eat would was the least she could do for him.

This was so much fun, and she wished they could stay here forever, but she knew they had to return and deal with her father’s declining mental state. No matter the reason for it, grief or an organic reason, the business was in trouble. If what Canyon and his father suspected was true, and there was no reason to think it wasn’t, the Medinas would take it from her. Fiera wasn’t going to let that happen, and now she knew that Canyon wouldn’t either.

Once she found the coffee she started a pot. After it was brewing, she began to make eggs, bacon, and toast the way her father loved them. She hoped Canyon would as well. She smiled as she worked. She would make him meals every day now. They would have a home, and she’d be in charge of running it, while Canyon went to work with his father every day. One day, they’d have children. Fiera smiled again as she pictured raising kids with Canyon.

There would be a ceremony to celebrate their mating, but like he’d said, it was nothing but a formality. The deed was already done. She belonged to him, and he was obligated to take care of her and her family. She’d dreamed of this for so long that it was now difficult to believe it had happened, and that Canyon would protect her.

He would also stop the Medinas. Holding onto that hope helped ease her fear.

Thinking about the reality that faced them once they returned to the village made Fiera’s hands shake, and she dropped a piece of toast on the floor. It was fine to think this would all be made right, but quite another to watch it play out. Canyon had spoken the truth. Their mating didn’t change the reality for either of them. In fact, it would make things worse.

After she scooped up the toast and tossed it into the trash, she put another slice of bread in the toaster. Once Hawke heard about this, he’d go apeshit mad with rage. So would his father and every male in his family. Panic swept through her. Was her father safe right now? Yes. He was. Canyon said his friends were with him.

She knew Stone and Arizona well. Stone was her cousin, and both men were solid alphas with impeccable reputations. They were also big and strong, the same as Canyon. They wouldn’t let anything happen to her father.

But what would happen if what Canyon said was likely true and the Medinas had already filed a complaint with the Elders about her father? Would they side with the Medinas, or would they align with Canyon’s thinking and allow him and Luke, his father, to take over running the business?

If they didn’t go along with Canyon’s thinking, or instead forced one of her uncles to make business decisions for her father, would Hawke’s family start harassing him as well? How much power did Canyon or Luke actually wield with the Elders?

Fiera cursed under her breath as she nearly dropped the damn toast again. She had to put this out of her mind. If she didn’t trust her mate, who the hell could she trust? This was no longer her burden to bear alone. She had Canyon to lean on.

When she finally had the food ready, she carried it on a tray into the main room, and smiled as he sat up in bed. She was glad she wouldn’t have to wake him. “I hope you’re hungry.”

“Starving. That smells incredible. What time is it?”

“I have no idea, but I figured if I was this hungry, so were you.”

After she placed the tray on a stand and moved it closer to the bed, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her. It was so tempting to say the heck with the food and coffee, until he released her. “Later.” He gave her a wink. “After we eat.”

The soreness over her entire body didn’t stop delicious tingles from coursing through her at those words. “Do you think we’ll ever get tired of making love?”

“I hope not.” He shoveled food into his mouth while she watched, grinning. “This is really good.”

  “I’m glad you like it.”

After they ate, they sat side by side in bed, propped up against pillows, sipping coffee. Fiera asked about the mating ceremony Canyon had mentioned.

“They’re usually planned ahead of time. There’s going to be gossip.”

“There will be anyway, once the other families find out the Medinas threatened you and your father.”

“Are you really going to tell everyone they did that?”

  “Of course I am.”

“But the Elders declared me your mate. Do you think it’s wise to involve the village in the other matters?”

His gaze grew dark. “Would you rather they jump to different conclusions? Like perhaps Hawke mated with you first and I took you from him?” That hadn’t occurred to her before now.

“And it would be just like Hawke to stir up such a rumor to make himself look like the victim here.”

“Yes, and it would be an easy conclusion for others to reach, considering he’s been shooting off his mouth for three months now. What we did is the human world equivalent of elopement, but others might not see it as romantic. They might view it as me trying to undermine Hawke, unless they know the whole truth. Then they will realize his intentions were not honorable.”

“You make some good points.” She couldn’t disagree with his assessment.

“We’ll have the backing of all the packs this way, Fiera.”

“As long as they believe you and not Hawke.”

“The Elders have already backed us up. All we need to do is sign the official papers and throw a party.”

“You make it sound easy.” She smiled. “You make everything sound easy.”

“This is easy, as in simple to sign our names and get your cousins and mine to help plan a party.”

“But it’s not easy as in uncomplicated?”

“No, it’s not that.” He placed his cup on the nightstand, and afterward took hers and put it next to his. “Fiera, I know I keep saying this, but that’s because I want you to accept it as the truth. I’m not going to let Hawke and his family win. You’re mine now, and I will not let your family’s business become theirs. I will protect you.” He gathered her into his arms again. “I give you my word on that.”

“I believe you, Canyon.” She snuggled against his warm body, moaning softly as he stroked her breasts. There was nothing she’d rather do at that moment than make love with her mate again.

“I need a shower.” He tugged on her hand, leading her off the bed and into the bathroom.

She giggled. “Oh, me too. What a perfectly wicked idea.”

When Canyon and Fiera woke a second time, the sun had almost risen. They were
both hungry again, so Fiera made them sandwiches while Canyon whispered in her ear all the things he was going to do to her once they were settled in his home.

Right next to door to where he’d grown up, he had built his own home already. If she could convince her father to move in with Luke and Leah, Canyon’s parents, she wouldn’t be far away from him. The more she thought about Canyon’s plan, the more she liked it.

“There’s a big, comfortable bed in my room,” he said. “I’m going to tie you to it, and lick every square inch of your body before I tease where I’ve licked with my cock, until you’re begging me to fuck you.”

The most decadent images she’d ever conjured up raced through her mind until her pussy was soaked.

“After that we’re going to fill up my sunken bathtub with warm water, and I’m going to slowly wash you until you’re so hot and wet for me again, you can’t stand it.”

“Canyon…” Fiera moaned. “I’m going to end up slicing my fingers instead of this tomato if you don’t stop that.”

Before they had fallen asleep again, he’d fucked her again in the shower earlier. She couldn’t believe she was still able to walk, or that she wanted him now, all over again. Everything below the waist was sore, but it was a sweet pain because it brought with it memories of the exquisite pleasure they’d shared together.

“Turn around.” He put his arms around her and removed the knife from her hand.

Once she did, she wrapped her arms around his waist. “I thought you said you were starving again?”

  “I am. For you.”

The look in his eyes took her breath away. This man would die for her if necessary. She could still hardly believe she belonged to him, or that they had spent all these glorious hours in this cozy cabin. She still wished they didn’t have to leave, but she also knew staying wouldn’t solve their issues.

“You have me, Canyon. All of me. For the rest of my life.”

“That means I have everything I need.” He kissed her gently. “Now you may finish making me my sandwich.”
