The cheer went off like a bomb in the canteen. All around him Kevin's family hugged one another, hugged him and hugged Aidan. Liza started to cry with joy. The kids ran in wild circles, whooping like animals.
Kevin felt as if his heart might burst its bonds in his ribs. Worming his way between all his friends, he found Aidan in the crush and pulled him into his arms, kissing his boyfriend long and deep.
Together. They were going to stay together.
On second thought, he decided as Aidan's arms wrapped around him, screw settling for that. They were the Wildcards. They were back on top of their game.
