“Oh! You are being too romantic today!” she said as she tried to get up.

“No. Don’t leave. Not so soon. Stay with me for a while,” I made her lay on the bed with me as I had no intentions of leaving me anytime soon.

I inhaled her essence that smelled like fresh jasmine flowers and started to bite her ear. There was just something about her which was inviting me to steal one more kiss. I circled my tongue around her earlobe and then took it in my mouth only to gently bite it. I covered the two of us with some sheets and we kept looking at each other like the lost piece of the same puzzle that were able to find their home.

“I love you so much!” she whispered in my ears and I knew that she meant it – each and every word of it.

“I love you more, babe!” I said, almost automatically, but not losing the essence of my emotions in my words.

“What should we do today?” she asked me, and from the glitter in her eyes, I could see that she was as excited about spending the rest of the day with her family as I was.

  “Let’s go somewhere!” I suggested.

  “Where?”

“You tell me!” I asked her, dodging the ball in her court. I have never been really good at making plans and I knew that somehow, I would end up running the day. If it were up to me, I would have taken us to some football practice or out in the wild to hike. But I knew that I could no longer suggest anything like that. I was living with two beautiful girls who never really appreciated anything related to football or hiking.

“Let’s have a picnic today. It will be just the three of us. We can go to the park and Rosie can have some great time playing. We two can have some time together,” she suggested as she started to plan the entire day in the back of her mind.

“I don’t know. Let me think!”

“I will make your favorite peanut butter sandwich!”

“I am in!” I said instantly after hearing about peanut butter sandwiches. Though, she knew that I was kidding. I would have gone with the two of them even without getting anything to eat or drink. It was their company that I was fond of. The last few years had certainly changed me entirely.

My priorities have been changed and these days, everything I do is for Rosie or Elaine. Now when I see it, I realize that Larry is gone. That guy is no longer living inside of me. When we both had Rosie, Larry and Ila die. I became Andrew and I didn’t want to go back to my past.

Both, Elaine and I were able to create a whole world for ourselves here and we were quite happy with it. We were content and didn’t want to change our lives at all.

“What else will you pack?” I asked her while playing with her curly hair.

“What else do you want me to pack?” she asked in her sexy tone as I felt her hands all over my body. I could feel her right hand moving all the way from my leg to my dick. I leaned towards her to kiss her juicy lips. We both were getting aroused and in that moment, we wanted to explore each other one more time.

I could taste her warmth at the tip of my tongue as I explored her insides with mine. Gradually, we were both getting aroused and even though we had a kid in our house, we knew that she was asleep. We wanted to make the best out of that moment and wanted to escape from everything around us.

I closed my eyes and could feel her hand slowly massaging my dick. My tongue was still busy inspecting the insides of her mouth and we both were all set to take it ahead in order to go all the way down.

“Mommy! I am up! Where are you?”

The moment I was about to step it up a little, we both heard Rosie’s voice coming from her room. We both parted out lips automatically as if we were committing a sin. We knew that Rosie was in her room and that she would never know if we both were getting sexually involved with each other, but somehow, it felt wrong. We didn’t want her to walk into our room and find her having crazy monkey sex. Not only that would give a bad impression on her, but would make her ask us some thousand different awkward and embarrassing questions.

“She is up!” Elaine said the moment we heard out little one’s voice.

“Yes. I can hear that,” I said, knowing that we both would have to cut it halfway. Actually, it was not even halfway. We were not even aroused entirely before it was halted.

“I have to go. Let’s get up, okay?” Elaine said as she knew she had to go and attend Rosie.

“Mommy!!!” we both could hear her voice coming from the other room. It seemed like that she was not having one of her worst mornings. Maybe, she had a nightmare or maybe, she was just being uncomfortable. Whatever it could be, she simply wanted her mom to be with her. I knew Elaine wanted to stay and have some amazing morning sex, but there was a very strong part of her that wanted to leave as well. She was a wife and a mother, and somehow, she was supposed to maintain a perfect balance between both the things in her life.

“Let’s get up!” I said as I quickly passed a kiss on her forehead and decided to leave the bed. It was a beautiful Sunday morning and I couldn’t wait to go out and have a great with my girls. The sun was up and shining and we all started to get ready to have one more beautiful day of our life.

  Chapter 3:

All three of us had a delicious breakfast and couldn’t wait to go out and have a great time. Elaine packed every essential thing in a small picnic basket as I finished the rest of the chores. We locked the house and took Rosie with us to celebrate the beauty of life. It was a clear day and didn’t have any clouds. We were delighted to have such a great weather that day as we started to walk towards the central park.

Wimberley is a small town and almost everything is walking distance away. I go to my workplace walking every morning without any trouble and that too after dropping Rosie to school. The town is pretty clean and not industrialized. It has maintained its age-old charm and it is one thing which we all like. It is like as if time has stood still here and for a moment, we can relive all those good old days here.

We like being close to nature and usually plan such outings almost every weekend. It lets us make some everlasting memories, as both, Elaine and I knew how tough it can truly be in order to find happiness. We both had a rough past and were in a bad shape when we met each other for the first time. But even in that darkness, we were able to find some hope in each other. We both saved each other which brought us here. Right here in Texas, having the time of our life with our daughter.

When I met Elaine for the first time, I never thought that I would end up being with her for the long haul. Yes, I was attracted towards her but I never thought that I would marry her or would even have a kid with her. At that time, I thought that marriage was not for me. I was quite happy with my life and the mere idea of love used to scare me to the core. I was terrified of the idea of settling down and spending the rest of my life with someone. I used to think that I would be alone my whole life and would be content by spending my one day at a time. I started to look for happiness in the most bizarre places like sex or drugs.

I thought that I was able to find my share of happiness by fucking a hot blonde girl or by consuming an enough amount of cocaine. Little did I know that none of those things could make me happy! The more I indulged myself into meaningless sex or drugs, the farther I pushed myself from happiness till I met Elaine. I was at my threshold and was about to cross the line when Elaine happened to me.

I met her at the worst phase of my life and she was able to bring the best out of it. She made me the man I thought I could never be. She changed for the better and here I was, with her and my daughter in the most beautiful town that I have ever seen.

Elaine took a blanket from the picnic basket and placed it on the ground for us to sit. Rosie was pretty excited to pay a visit to the “big park”. We had a park nearby our house, but it was not as big as the central park. Elaine used to take Rosie to the park which is merely a mile away from our place almost every evening, but she wanted to visit someplace new.

The central park not only had a lush landscape, but it also had an artificial lake whi
ch Rosie wanted to visit for so long.

“Look! Mommy! That lake is so pretty!” she said as she ran towards the lake and tried to play with all the ducks that were nearby.

There were a lot of multicolored paddle boats nearby and the moment I saw them, I realized that Rosie would demand to sit in one of those boats.

“I am telling you, she will ask us to paddle those boats. Be ready!” I whispered in Elaine’s ears as we both saw Rosie playing with the ducks.

“No! I am not going to paddle that boat. You know I am not very good with all these things!” Elaine said and tried to come up with an excuse, but I knew that I was not going to work at all.

Rosie was busy playing with the ducks and for a moment, I just looked at the two most beautiful girls in the whole damn world. They both were standing right in front of me – my daughter and my wife. Elaine was busy watching Rosie, who was playing with ducks.

“Oh! Wow! Mommy, see! They have boats. Come! I want to ride them. I want a boat ride, daddy!” Rosie started to demand and I looked at Elaine as we both started to laugh.

“See! I told you so!” I said as I started to make sure that the boats were safe. The park was unexpectedly empty and we couldn’t see anyone else except the three of us. It was a pleasant day, but we knew that most of the people would arrive only by evening.

“I want the orange one, daddy!” Rosie demanded and I tried to fulfill her demands without any argument.

“This one?” I said as I inspected the orange boat that she was pointed at. I should have known earlier that she would pick an orange boat – as it was her favorite color.

“Yes!” she finally said while being full of excitement. I could see that she was certainly having a great time that day and I was pretty happy to accompany them. I could have gone alone or with John to either hiking or watching some football, but I would any day pick this than football. I was having a great time with my family and won’t trade it for the world.

“We are good to go now. We need one more person to paddle the boat,” I said while looking at Elaine who was already terrified.

“Why can’t I paddle the boat, daddy?” Rosie asked.

“Because you are too small for that and your legs won’t be able to paddle correctly.”

“Okay! Then mommy will do it. Come on, mom. We are getting late!” she said as she made Elaine sit with me in her favorite orange boat.

Elaine and I looked at each other, wondering how much we both have changed with time. It was just the beginning of the day and we couldn’t wait to spend the rest of it boating, eating, playing, and doing everything that our little princess wanted us to do.

The day had just begun and I was certainly looking forward to spending the rest of it with my pretty girls.

  Chapter 4:

Later, we got a call from Janet, who was Elaine’s best friend. She wanted to come and see us. Elaine thought of having a small dinner together that night. She cooked Janet’s favorite kind of chicken as she wanted to treat her friend nicely. Janet was one of the first people who interacted with Elaine when we moved to Texas. Not only she was one the first customers who bought a dress from Elaine, but she was also our neighbor.

She used to live in the same lane as ours and although our houses were not really adjacent to each others, but she used to visit us almost every day. For us, Janet was just like another family member. Elaine used to treat her like a sister and she was also extremely fond of us. We all used to go out together and had a closely-knit circle. John, who was also one of my best friends used to know Janet. They both went to the same school and although John was her senior, but they shared a great chemistry.

John got married two years ago to one of Janet’s friends. It was a small town where you don’t need six degrees of separation. Everyone else is either your friend or a friend of a friend. Here, two or three degrees of separation prevail among everyone. Since John and his wife were so fond of Janet, we used to plan a lot of things together. All five of us used to go out every now and then and have a blast. All of John’s friends were mine and Elaine was also a part of Janet’s circle.

It was pretty hard to believe that we were living in that town only for the last few years when we knew almost everyone who used to reside there. In the short span of four years, we became an integral part of that town. It became a part of our identity and we didn’t want to leave it at all. We had friends who were no less than a family to us. We could no longer imagine living without Janet, John, and all our other friends with whom we used to have a great time.

Not just us, but Rosie also had a great circle of friends. She was one of those kids who absolutely loved going to school. She had some great friends and loved spending time with them. She would insist Elaine in order to make her go to the nearby park every evening in order to meet her friends. We used to love her excitement and zeal to socialize and know others. She was never afraid to talk to strangers. I believe that was one quality that she got from her dad.

Wimberley was no longer a town to us – it was a family. Since everyone knew everyone else, people used to support each other just like family members through thick and thin. Whenever someone used to die, the entire town would mourn for the demise and one can see the gloominess in everyone’s eyes. Whenever someone used to marry, the atmosphere in the entire town would change. It would become a festival and every resident would celebrate the wedding of their locals just like close friends and family. There was just something magical about that town. It was peaceful and quiet as well. In the last four years of our stay there, we never heard single news of any criminal activities.

We never heard of a murder or a rape case. We never saw children being abducted from outside their homes or even the news of someone breaking it or stealing something. I believe the sheriff of the town had the best job as it was a crime-free town where no one used to indulge in any kind of criminal activity. Both, Elaine and I used to find it strange, but it was a blessing in disguise. We used to let Rosie play with others and go out without any worry, knowing that nothing bad could happen to her. We used to sometimes even leave our doors open while heading out as well. We knew that the town consisted of our family and friends and there was not even a single person there who could hurt us.

Little did I know that all the things that I have believed in were about to change. They say that one bad fish can spoil the whole pond. I never really believed in that phrase because all my life, I used to stay with bad fishes. I never got the company of good and kind-hearted people like John or Janet.

“I love this chicken. This is so delicious, Elaine. Oh, my god! I love you so much!” Janet said as she kept hogging the chicken that Elaine made for her while both, Rosie and I, kept looking at her. We all were almost done with our supper and were only waiting for Janet to finish her meal as we all sat together at the dining table.

“Wait a second. What is this?” Elaine said the moment she saw a pretty ring on Janet’s finger.

“Yes. This is what I wanted to talk to you about but then I saw the chicken and totally forgot about it. I have no idea how I am going to survive for the rest of my life. I have this thing about food. When it comes to my favorite food, I can’t resist. I can honestly say that I love food more than people. Oh God! Don’t tell this to Rob. You can never tell Rob that I said that. Okay!” Janet went on and on about her love for food and completely ignored Elaine’s question.

I looked at Elaine, knowing that Janet was having one of her classic panic attacks that can only be solved with some food. Elaine offered her some more chicken, knowing that Janet wanted to eat it all without even having a single thought.

“What happened? Did Rob propose you?” Elaine finally asked her bluntly, knowing that Janet would keep dodging the question for the rest of the night.

“Yes. Oh God! He did. He finally asked me to marry him. I thought that this day would never come. We both have been dating for the last four years. Four years – do you have any idea how long four years could be. I was d
ating this one man, with no hope at all. I thought that I would never be married. We were living together for almost three years and every day, I used to hope that he would pop the big question. I kept hoping for this one moment for the last three years of my life. Oh God! I am so happy. I can cry my eyes out right now!” Janet said as she started to weep. Elaine hugged her instantly, knowing how much it meant for Janet.

We saw Rob and Janet together from the day we came to this town and we hoped that they would marry soon. We never really wanted to put any pressure on them, but somehow, the entire town started to question Rob. We knew how much it finally meant to Janet and the rest of the town and were utterly happy for her.

“Oh God! This finally happened. I was hoping for this for so long, Janet. I can’t wait to attend your wedding!” Elaine said as she let go of Janet.

“You don’t have to just attend it. You need to take care of everything. You would be the maid of honor. The wedding is scheduled for ten days from now, so we still have a lot of time!” Janet said without looking up. Her eyes were still on the chicken that she kept hogging.

“What? Ten days? Don’t you think it’s too early?” she asked her.

“Yeah! I mean, don’t you want to prepare for this thing. Do you think you will do it all in ten days?” I asked Janet, in order to confirm if the wedding was really scheduled so hurriedly.

“Oh! I have been preparing for my wedding for the last three years. When he asked me to move in, almost three years back, I thought that the big question was just around the corner. I picked my wedding dress, finalized the theme, how the wedding cake is going to be like. I have even planned the sitting arrangement. I have been preparing it for really long, Andrew. I can arrange an unforgettable ceremony in a single day. I am that confident. Ten days are nothing. I have it all under control!” Janet said like a pro and made both, Elaine and I believe that she would pull it off without any trouble. After all, she was preparing for her big day for the last three years.
