Finally, breathless, he broke off the kiss. They stood there a moment, face to face, breathing hard and grinning at each other.
“You really are turned on,” Brian said knowingly.
“Oh yeah. Our cute and curvy chauffer friend was watching us and getting herself off.”
“I know.” As werewolves, it was easy to scent the heady aroma of her arousal and hear her rapid breathing, the quick thumping of her heart. Her arousal had, in turn, turned him on so hot that he’d quickly lost control and shot his load into Dominic’s mouth. He wasn’t going to apologize for Dominic not getting off. He’d certainly be taking care of that later, as promised. But the woman…she was intriguing.
He wondered how open she’d be to spending some time with them. She seemed a little skittish, although there was certainly a side of her that was absolutely sensual. Otherwise she wouldn’t have watched them, and she certainly wouldn’t have fingered herself to an orgasm at the sight of Dominic going down on him.
As he’d said—intriguing.
Fully dressed, they headed for the locker room exit, carrying their gym bags with them. A few other men had entered and were dressing down. The guys nodded to them. Everyone knew Brian owned the place. There were a lot of shifters who came here to work out against each other—bears, a few big cat shifters, lots of wolves. But there were plenty of humans too. It was a good mix of people. He was rather proud of the place. Sure, his building was ugly to look at, but she had heart in spades.
They exited the locker room. He glanced around, trying to find the pretty chauffer with the long blonde hair in that French braid and her sparkling blue eyes. He was already looking forward to tonight, to having her drive them around the city, but the thought of seeing her again made his heart beat a bit faster. Quite a bit faster, actually. And that uniform? He growled low in his throat with appreciation at the memory. It had been so formal and utterly professional that he found it even more erotic than if she’d been wearing something overtly sexual. There was something about a person in uniform…
“I don’t see her,” Dominic said with a worried edge to his voice.
Brian frowned. He didn’t see her either, although he could still catch the lingering scent of her body and mild perfume in the air. He looked out the row of large windows at the front of the building and spotted the dark shape of the limousine. He frowned. Had they scared her off? “Maybe she’s outside, waiting in the car.”
Dominic shrugged, but Brian could sense his tension. He’d been thinking a lot about their vanished chauffer and the possibilities for tonight as well it seemed. They both started for the front door when Jimmy came hurrying over. He was wearing an easy grin on his face. Jimmy was a coyote shifter and an unabashed prankster. A real pain in the ass too. It was as if Jimmy couldn’t help it. Pranks and jokes were in his blood. It was all fun and games until something got out of line.
This time Brian wondered if it had gone over the line. If so, he and Jimmy were going to have a nice little talk.
“So,” Jimmy said, still grinning. “Your chauffer stormed out of here as if all the demons in hell were after her. Wonder what she saw?” He aped an innocent expression.
Dominic slapped a hand down on Jimmy’s shoulder, hard enough that the other man grunted. There was nothing particularly kind about Dominic’s grin either. “I take it you are the ass clown who tricked her into heading back into the men’s locker room? That right?”
“Ow. Hey. It was all in fun—”
“What did you tell her?” Brian asked quietly. He was still debating whether or not to kick the crap out of this little punk. No coyote would ever be a match for an alpha wolf like Brian. Now that he thought about it, maybe it was time he and Jimmy had a special, no-holds-barred sparring session so he could teach this punk a lesson he’d never forget.
Jimmy started to sweat. “I just let her know you guys told her to come on back. Hell, at worst she got a free look at this month’s sausage selection.”
“You ever think you might’ve embarrassed her, jackass?” Dominic demanded.
“Well, I didn’t…until afterwards. But it was harmless. You know. All in fun.”
Brian fixed him with his iciest stare. “We’re not done, Jimmy. But I’m not going to waste any more time on you tonight. If I hear you’re harassing my human clientele or guests again, we’re going to have a problem. A very large, very bloody problem.”
Jimmy swallowed, his eyes going wide. He slowly nodded. Brian and Dominic left him standing there as they made their way side by side through the gym toward the limo waiting out on the street. Let Jimmy stew in his own juices for a while. Right now Brian was more concerned with the attractive chauffer lady. Oh, and his body’s reaction to her divine scent. So female. So healthy. So aroused.
“That guy’s an ass,” Dominic growled.
“True. I only hope our driver isn’t afraid for her job after something like that.” A wave of sympathy washed through him. A hotshot billionaire could easily get someone fired if he or she chose to make a stink about something, so he wouldn’t be surprised if she was terrified of being terminated after walking in on him enjoying a blowjob.
Truth was, he wasn’t embarrassed in the least by what she’d witnessed—in fact, the scent of her arousal and her self-given orgasm had driven him over the edge into coming, even though he’d been trying to hold back, to force Dominic to work to make that cheap shot up to him. And Dominic gave the best blowjobs of any set of lips he’d ever encountered in his entire life. However, now Brian was concerned that she was suffering, afraid for her job, or even terribly embarrassed to have been caught in the act of catching them in the act.
And that was not acceptable. Love was beautiful. Shame was not something he wanted any person to feel around him and Dominic.
He was going to set this right.
* * *
Ruth bit her lip as she watched through the gym’s front window as the two men talked with the jerk who had pulled the prank on her. He was probably denying everything. God, if she lost this job… She shook her head. If she lost this job, she didn’t know what she was going to do. Rent in the city wasn’t cheap. Food wasn’t cheap. Nothing came cheap except the rats.
The dispatch radio murmured near the dash as Mandy talked with other drivers. She glanced at the radio, frowning, her heart beating with a dull thud. She was dreading the call from dispatch telling her the clients had complained and she was to head back to the garage and turn in her keys. The limo’s GPS would tell Mandy that Ruth hadn’t departed yet, although that wasn’t exactly rare. She would be paid to be at Mr. Barrington’s beck and call all evening. That was, if he hadn’t called up Mirage already to get her canned for spying on him.
She glanced back into the gym, chewing on her lip, unsure of what to do. She couldn’t simply drive off, despite the crazy temptation to do exactly that. Most of the men inside were still fighting and training. She was grateful of the limo’s tinted glass, allowing her to watch Mr. Barrington without fear of him noticing. She’d started thinking of him as Mr. Barrington again in hopes of being formal, even in her thoughts, would somehow make up for the fact that she’d been spying on his sexual escapades. An image of him nude flashed through her mind, making her thighs clench in a pure ache of lust. But Mr. Brian Barrington was now dressed in a suit that probably cost more than a quarter horse and carried a gym bag slung casually over his shoulder. Next to him walked his sparring partner, Dominic, also dressed in a well-tailored suit. The two of them looked like a million bucks, their hair still wet from their shower. They also looked to be in an intense conversation with that bastard prankster. Great. That was all she needed. Clearly they were tracking down what had happened. Soon it would be her turn…
Run for it. Run for it while you still can.
And her hand was actually on the key in the ignition until she got a hold of herself again and forced in a shuddering breath.
Mr. Barrington and Dominic finally ended their conversation with the
jerk and started toward the front door again. She scrutinized their faces, trying to read whether or not they were angry.
Quickly, she scrambled out of the car, ready to open the limo’s back door for them. Maybe she’d get lucky and Mr. Barrington would understand that she’d made a mistake. An embarrassing, never-talk-of-it-again-except-when-really-drunk mistake. Maybe he’d let it go. Maybe the two men were confident enough in their own sexuality, their own blazing, overwhelming sex-god status, that they wouldn’t mind putting on a show.
Maybe chickens could swim.
Still, she crossed her fingers and balanced on her toes, hoping that just this once she ended up lucky.
Mr. Barrington and his sparring partner exited through the gym’s glass door and headed straight for her, both of them smiling. Those smiles could have melted chocolate on a winter’s day. She actually felt her knees go a little weak. She stood straight and smiled back, holding the door open for them as they climbed inside.
“Good evening, Mr. Barrington,” she said, struggling to keep her voice from trembling.
“Good evening and thank you,” Mr. Barrington said as he climbed into the limo. Dominic merely grinned at her and gave her a playful wink. That set her heart to beating faster too. A wink was a good thing, right?
After closing the door, she hurried around to the driver’s side and scrambled in. She signaled to dispatch that she’d be on the move, then started the limo. The privacy guard was up between the front and the back, allowing them maximum discretion in the back. God knew that if she looked in the rearview and saw Dominic going down on Brian again…or doing anything else exceedingly hot…she’d probably be so turned on she’d drive the limo straight into the water.
She pushed the button for the intercom. “Please let me know your destination any time you are ready, sirs.”
“Lower the privacy guard please,” Mr. Barrington’s smooth voice said.
She did so immediately. She met his gorgeous blue-eyed gaze in the rearview mirror. When she swallowed, she heard her throat click.
“Do you know the Skytower Ice Cream Shoppe?” he asked.
“I do, Mr. Barrington. An excellent choice.”
Brian Barrington laughed. She loved the sound of his laughter.
“Good,” he said. “I’m glad you know it. Because Dominic has an insatiable sweet tooth—”
“You’re so full of shit you squeak,” Dominic shot back, punching the other man on the shoulder.
“Don’t make me kick your ass in front of a lady,” Brian warned, raising an eyebrow.
“Any time, mano. Any time. She already got an eyeful when—” He glanced at her with a wicked grin. “—she saw me knock you on your ass, big shot.”
Mr. Barrington snorted. “Lucky shot. Now where was I? Ah. I’d like to go to the Skytower for our first stop.” He leaned forward and clasped his hands, staring at her hard. “Only I have one important question.”
She blushed—she knew because her cheeks felt hotter than a burning match. “I’m sorry. I’m supposed to introduce myself. I’m Ms. Hadley. I’ll be your driver for this evening.”
Crap. She sounded so lame. So very, very awkward and foolish.
Mr. Barrington’s smile widened. “My name is Brian. I’d be honored if you would use it.”
“I…uh, yes, sir. Brian.”
He leaned back and shot a smug look at Dominic. “She catches on a thousand times faster than you ever did.” He glanced back at her. “Would it make you uncomfortable if I asked to address you by your first name, Ms. Hadley?”
She hesitated and his eyebrows lifted slightly in silent question. Normally she would’ve said no…but she needed this job, and she didn’t want to antagonize him by denying such a simple request. “If you wish, sir. My first name is…Ruth.”
“Ruth.” Brian nodded slowly, staring out at the city street for a moment. “A strong name. Dependable. It suits you.”
Yes, her face was so hot she thought she might just melt into a smoking puddle. He had one odd sense of appreciation if he liked the name Ruth, the least sexy name in a ten-mile radius. No doubt he was simply being polite. “Thank you, sir.”
“Feel free to call me Dominic,” the dark-haired sparring partner said. “I figure once a girl has seen my naked ass, she deserves to be on a first name basis with me.”
Her heart began to thunder so hard she could feel her pulse banging in her temples. Dread washed through her and her hands clenched on the steering wheel.
“I apologize, sir,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “I can get you another driver right away. Just let me call dispatch and arrange it.”
Dominic raised his hands and quickly said, “Hey, hey, no problem. I’m only giving you a hard time. It certainly wasn’t your fault.”
Brian nodded. “I genuinely hope it will be something you look back on and can laugh with us about.”
She nodded, not trusting herself to speak. Laugh about? Hardly. She’d be using the scene from now on in the private porno theater inside her mind whenever she wanted to get herself off. But laughter? Not on his life.
Brian seemed to misread her expression, because his face grew even more concerned. “Ruth, I promise you, you aren’t in any trouble and your job is safe. If that was worrying you, please put those fears to rest.”
“Thank you, sir,” she said quietly. “I’ll get us to Skytower Ice Cream.”
They both nodded. Dominic opened the bottle of Armand de Brignac provided by Mirage and grabbed two glasses. The two scorching hot men began to talk with one another, their good-natured banter filling the car until she discretely raised the privacy guard again. She couldn’t handle having those two gorgeous specimens so close, so…distracting. She really would end up in an accident. And that would cost her t job.
Skytower Ice Cream Shoppe. A surprising choice. It was a bit of a city secret. There was a fully functional, high-end dessert parlor on the twenty-seventh floor of the Timura Building off Water Street in Manhattan. The views from the booths of the Brooklyn Bridge and the East River were absolutely staggering. The art deco interior design was pure classy. Still, it was the last place she would’ve guessed two men like Brian and Dominic would choose to go on a Friday night.
Weren’t they simply full of surprises?
A billionaire who owned a gym and trained in full MMA? No, strike that. A smoking-hot billionaire werewolf shape-shifter who exuded pure sex appeal but liked ice cream with his sparring partner lover. And they were polite and funny to boot. Oh, and had she mentioned they were smoking hot?
It made her wonder what other surprises these two men had in store on this New York night.
CHAPTER THREE
Brian could see Ruth through the one-way glass of the limo’s privacy guard and he liked what he saw. She was curvy, pretty, and those blue eyes of hers didn’t hold even a thimbleful of guile. Every thought she had was reflected in her clear, straightforward gaze. It was absolutely adorable. And hot. Seeing her again had hit him just as hard as in the gym. Something about her perfectly pressed chauffer’s uniform turned him on in all kinds of naughty ways. In fact, he’d been harboring a little fantasy since he’d first seen her—a fantasy of fucking her up against the side of the limo with her wickedly naked except for that chauffer cap…and maybe some high-heeled boots. He’d watch her face as he thrust deep inside her, pulled back only far enough to drive himself home again, and he would revel in every bit of ecstasy she felt. He would—
Dominic rabbit-punched him in the shoulder. “I can’t believe you.”
“What?” he snapped, rubbing his deltoid. The next time he and Dominic went rounds, he was definitely going to have to go hard on the guy.
Dominic raised an eyebrow. “You’re hard again.” He pointed to the front of Brian’s suit trousers where Brian’s cock had made a proud tent.
“I guess I am. When you’re hung like me, it’s difficult to hide.”
“And I just gave you a blowjob. What are you, some kind of
unstoppable sex machine?”
“Yes and…yes.”
“You’re thinking about her, aren’t you?” Dominic challenged with a grin. “Our driver.”
“Yes, again. Our chauffer has something about her.” And that was no exaggeration. His libido certainly had all of its attention locked on her and there was no taming the lustful scenarios playing out in his mind, but his wolf nature also felt a pull to her. A protectiveness. A desire that was more complex than simple sex. She seemed too sweet for New York and its edges…but on the other hand, she didn’t seem weak to him either. Wholesome? Was that the word he was searching for? Perhaps. But then again, she’d been watching them and pleasuring herself, the naughty girl.
“The little human is a babe in the woods,” Dominic said. “And we’re the big bad wolves.”
“No, I’m more akin to the white knight, and you’re simply a douche-nozzle.”
“Wish I’d never taught you that word. So…what else do you have planned tonight? Aside from the ice cream sugar coma, that is.”
Brian turned to stare Dominic straight in the eye. “It has been awhile since we shared a woman.” He reached out and squeezed his friend’s muscular shoulder and grinned. “If she’s game, I’d like to create a night to remember with her and with you.”
Dominic gave him a brilliant smile. “You know me. I love the ladies and I love the men. I’m all equal opportunity when it comes to pleasure. But do you think she’d be down for some fun with a couple of alpha-swaggering wolves like us? She seems skittish.”
“Only one way to find out,” he replied. “With class and complete respect to the lady, of course.”
Dominic raised his champagne glass. “Hear, hear.”
Brian turned to stare out the window at the passing New York City streets. The tall buildings hemming them in as if they were driving through a brightly lit canyon. The blazing storefronts displaying products. The glitzy restaurants. All the lights and the energy. That’s why he loved this place. There was nowhere else on earth exactly like it. So much excitement. So much limitless potential. Just like tonight. If he was lucky, he and Dominic might even have the honor of driving their naughty chauffer to the heights of pleasure, play on words definitely intended.
