“To do something fun and crazy?”

  He nodded.

“…but,” I began to say, before Michael took my hands in his. Feeling his large hands wrapped inside my own nearly made me melt.

“No, but’s. Tonight, is our night to be young, wild and free. Let’s act like college students for once. Let’s be reckless. Let’s be carefree. Let’s be wild. Today, let’s have no worries, and then tomorrow we’ll worry about our professional lives. What do you say? Do you want to fuck the system, go crazy with me and have some fun?”

  Chapter 5

  Michael

My heart was moving at million beats per minute. Watching her think if she wanted to join me in the ultimate hooky day made my heart jump like it was on cocaine.

When she smiled, I already knew her answer.

“Yes. So, what’s the first step?” She asked.

“First step is we ditched these bags and get something to eat.”

  “Deal.”

After stowing our bags in my truck, we walked on campus towards the cafeteria. Along the way, we got to know each other more. Who would have known that Ali and I had a lot in common? We both came from working class families and were the first ones in our family to attend college. Her mom and dad were immigrants from Korea and owned a nail salon. It was a family business as her siblings also worked there. I told her about my own family struggles like how both my parents work three jobs just to keep the lights on.

I was also surprised that Ali had a funny side to her. On several occasions she had me holding my sides because I was laughing so hard. In fact, during lunch, we were both laughing so hard at this one shared life experience that she actually had milk come out her nose. It was the weirdest but cutest thing I’d ever seen.

Stuffed from an endless buffet of food, we both lounged in the chair eating ice cream. I could barely eat mine while Ali devoured hers like a toddler. It was cute watching her get ice cream all over her lips.

“How can you eat this?” I complained.

She shrugged. “I love chocolate ice cream.”

“Huh,” I looked at my vanilla cone and shook my head. If I had one more lick, I was going to burst. I shoved the cone on an empty plate and watched Ali eat her remaining cone.

After eating, Ali wiped her hands and face. “Now that was a feast. I can’t say that I’ve actually sat in this cafeteria and enjoyed a meal. Usually I’m studying when I’m eating then rushing to the library.”

“Ha, same.” Noticing a stray glob of chocolate on her face, I laughed and said, “Oh, Ali you got some more ice cream on your face.”

“Really! Oh, this is embarrassing.” She touched her face multiple times to try and mop up the ice cream but missed it every time. She was adorable in her own way.

“Here let me.” I grabbed a napkin and wiped away the ice cream. As I wiped away the sticky residue, my fingers grazed her face. Upon touching her soft skin, the same butterfly feeling returned.

What in the hell was it? The feeling was static. It felt like I was walking on air when I touched her. Like a greedy child I wanted more of it but, how could I? What were we? Friends at best. How is it that when class started, I hated this woman, yet three hours into talking to her I’m craving to touch her like a crack addict. What spell am I under?

“Got it,” I replied, tossing the napkin into the stack of dirty dishes.

She smiled and then looked down, pushing back a strain of her hair. “So, I’m not going to lie, I’m actually having fun talking to you,” she admitted.

  “Me too.”

“Who would have thought that my moral enemy could be a nice guy?”

“And who would have thought that the wicked witch had a heart.”

“Ha-Ha,” She mocked, throwing a fry at me. “So, whats next on our agenda?”

“Well you know how it’s Tuesday, right?”

  “Un-huh?”

“Usually, I’ll be in my room studying, but I’ve always wanted to see what it’s like to get drunk on a weekday.”

“Umm, we have a test at 8 am tomorrow.”

“What happened to living free? You sound like old Ali.”

She bit her lip. “Fine. Let’s get drunk.”

“Awesome. Let’s get the supplies. Come on!” I grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the cafeteria.

  “What about our dishes?”

“Leave it. Wild and free remember!”

“Oh my god! This is crazy!” She screamed, laughing as we ran like two outlaws.

  Chapter 6

  Ali

Dare I say that I’m having fun?

Watching Michael drive, I grin as I ogle him from the passenger seat. The man is looking like a sexy chocolate shake, loose shirt, opened by two buttons to show some skin, aviator shades, and a bright smile. Not in a million years would I believe that I’ll be skipping class, leaving messes in cafeterias, and getting drunk on a school night, yet there I was, heading to the grocery store to get beer and snacks. I’d never felt so free in my life before. Being with Michael was nothing what I expected. He was kind and funny. We had so much in common, and within three hours of talking to him, I’d grown closer with him than I have with anyone of my friends.

When we arrived at the store, Michael grabbed a cart and nodded towards it.

  “Get in.”

  “What?”

“Get in,” He repeated. “I’ll push you around.”

“I don’t think we’re allowed to do that.”

“We’re not, but today is all about being wild and free. You made a pact. Get in.”

I rolled my eyes and attempted to put a leg in the cart. On one leg, I slipped and nearly fell on my ass, but Michael was there to catch me as he easily picked me back up.

“Are you okay?” He asked, holding my waist.

God, did it feel good when he touched me. What was that feeling? In my life I’ve only felt it once and that was earlier today when he wiped the ice cream from my face. That same tingling feeling crawled up my spine. I couldn’t even define it if I tired, but there was some thing about his touch that sent my insides ablaze.

He effortlessly lifted me off the ground and placed me into the basket. For a skinny guy, he lifted 115 pounds with ease.

  “There you go.” He grinned.

  “I feel like a child.” I laughed.

“Just go with it. Are you ready? You’re going to be my item grabber.”

“Let’s do this!” I turned and grabbed the front of the cart and Michael pushed me forward. “Whoooo!” I shouted with glee as Michael ran and pushed the cart through the store. We got several looks as Michael ran me through the store. I knew what they were thinking, but I didn’t care. For once, I felt free. I felt like I was invincible, able to do anything. I couldn’t help but to smile. We zigged in and out of aisles, dodging customers like they were traffic cones. We made our way down the beer aisle and Michael shouted, “Grab a case of Jersey Light!” I reach forward and tossed the cold case of beer into the cart. Michael sped forward and head towards the chips and snacks areas.

“What are we grabbing?” I laughed.

  “Chips and salsa!” He commanded.

I giggled and grabbed several bags and tossed them into the cart.

“Let’s go!” I shouted once everything was secure. We ran to the checkout lane where the cashier gave us the dirtiest of looks. I’m sure she wanted us out of there as soon as possible.

We exited the store as quickly as we entered as Michael pushed the cart outside. After a running start, he hopped on the undercarriage bar and we coasted towards his truck. I could only let out a squeal as we rolled. It was like being on a roller coaster with no brakes. All I could do was lift my hands up above my head and scream as gravity took us. Michael was inches away from my face laughing. He was so close that I could smell his cologne. The smell of him was intoxicating. Like a greedy child, I wanted more of it.

“Hold on!” He shouted as he hopped back on the ground, slowing our pace. He sto
pped the cart inches away from his truck. I couldn’t stop giggling as I was having more fun than I had in a while. Walking towards the front of the cart, he picked me up again. And once again I felt that stray tingle. I couldn’t name it if could. It felt like happiness and joy all mixed into one. The more he touched me, the more I craved his touch. Then when he let me go, I felt like begging for more. Was I crazy?

As I stood there, watching him pack away groceries and ogling his ass, a wild conclusion appeared in my thoughts, I’m all in for Michael.

  Chapter 7

  Michael

“Groceries are all packed away. Where did you want to get drunk at? My place or yours?”

“I live in the dorm room, so I can’t drink there.”

  “My place then. Hop in.”

She grinned and got into the passenger side. I hoped in the driver’s seat and drove back to my house. Along the way, we keep looking at each other and laughing. It was crazy what we did in the grocery store. I’m sure that we’re going to banned for life from that store, but it was well worth it. I haven’t had that much fun in ages. I still couldn’t believe that my day with my once sworn rival would be this fun.

The more I stared at her the more gorgeous she looked. I couldn’t believe I never saw her beauty until now. I felt like a fool for ignoring it all this time. The way her hair whipped in the breeze, how her small firm tits looked in her white top, the curve of her delicate hips in her tight pink jeans. All were driving my cock insane.

I won’t lie, I’d fantasized what she looked like naked at least twice. Watching her smile at me, made me wonder if she was thinking of the same thing about me. I’d seen her checking me out at too, but those looks could mean a lot of things. I mean, just yesterday we were mortal enemies preparing to rip each other apart, but now it seems like we only wanted to rip each other’s clothes off. What had come over us?

The trip back to my place went by quick. As usual, our time spent in the car was spent talking to each other. It was crazy how easy we were able to talk to each other. It was as if we’d been friends for years. The ease and complexity of our conversations were beyond anything I could imagine. Part of me wished that I would had taken a chance and spoke to her sooner in life, because at this point I realized that I without her I feel incomplete. Time seemed to move at a different pace with her. Minutes felt like seconds and hours felt like minutes. At that point, if you would have told me to choose a person to get stuck on an island with, Ali would be my number one choice based on the few hours we’ve spent together.

I parked the car, Ali got out and stared at the run-down appearance of my apartment.

“It’s not much, but the rent was cheap.” I replied behind her, with groceries in my hands.

  “Well, I like it.”

“I’ll be happy to sublease it you once I get my fancy job at Forrest &Young and my fancy brand new apartment in NYC.”

“Ha, as if. I was being serious about the post card. Now that I know where you live, I’ll send you it,” She mocked.

I smiled, enjoying her banter. Unlocking the door, I opened it and held the door for her to walk in. In truth, I really wanted her to walk in first just to ogle her ass, which suddenly I was more interested in staring at.

“The inside is better than the outside.” She claimed, looking around my living room filled with a comfortable black L shaped couch, a glass coffee table filled with magazines, large flat screen and entertainment speakers.

“Thanks. My brother works at an electronic store, so I have a hook up.”

She nodded and fell into the couch, making herself comfortable.

“Do you have roommates?” She asked looking around.

“Just one. He’s never home. Always at his girlfriend’s. I’m not sure why he doesn’t just move out and live with her, but I’m not complaining.”

  “Makes sense.”

  “Beer?”

  “Yes, please!”

I opened the box and tossed a cold can towards her. She caught it with one hand and popped the top to take a sip.

  “Nice catch.”

“Thanks. Played softball in high school.”

“Well, I see the skills never left. I played baseball in high school.”

“Well, I guess we got another thing in common. Played sports in high school. If this was bingo, we’d be killing it.”

“I’m sure we would already have bingo by now.”

Ali laughed as she took another sip.

“I’ll be right back; I’m going to put the rest of these guys on ice.”

“I’ll be here waiting. You better catch up though. I’m already finishing this beer,” She claimed, taking another long swig. I grinned at the speed she was able to drink, then left the living room to go into the kitchen. I took out three more beers from the case, then put the rest in the fridge. Putting the chips and salsa in bowls, I managed to balance all of the items in my two hands back out to the living room.

When Ali saw me, she laughed.

“Well, when I get the job tomorrow, at least you have a career being a waiter.”

“Ha, ha.” I placed the food on the coffee table and handed Ali another beer. “This is for you, since you are apparently a fish that drinks beer.”

She shrugged, “what can I say. I like beer.”

“Same.” I opened my own then held out the can towards her. “To having a fun night and screwing the system.”

“To screwing the system,” She said, clashing her beer on to mine.

I grinned and then shotgunned the entire thing in one gulp. She laughed as I burped loudly.

  “Whose, the fish now?”

We both laughed and settled in close together. For hours we watched movies, played video games, talked about various topics like finance, movies, and sports. As time went on, we got closer and closer. By 1 am, we were both drunk and slouched in each other arms. Ali’s head head was on my stomach, as we both looked up to the ceiling.

We were both silent until I asked, “can I ask you a personal question?”

“We been sharing personal stuff all day, Michael.”

“I know, but this is something different.”

“Oh…” She looked away then looked back at me. “Yeah, what’s the question.”

“Why don’t you have a boyfriend or something.”

  “Oh…”

“I mean no offense. You have an amazing personality, you’re funny, and gorgeous. A perfect catch. Why hasn’t someone locked you down.”

She shrugged. “I don’t know. I mean, I’ve had chances. I’ve shut them all down though.”

“Let me guess the reason, school?”

“Ha, yeah. Usually I’ve been so busy attempting to make my resume perfect that I haven’t even thought about dating a guy.”

  “Same here.”

“You like dating guys?” She mocked.

“You know what I mean.” I tossed a pillow at her face and she laughed. “I mean dating girls. I’ve been so busy. That I placed my college social life on hold. I mean for everything. Hell, even my sex life is nonexistent.”

  “Are you a virgin?”

I laughed and shook my head. “Nah, lost it in high school. Prom night.”

“High school as well. Mark Terry’s basement.”

  “Enjoyable?”

She smiled. “Ehhh, I give him some credit for not cumming instantly, but no it wasn’t.”

  “Well, sorry to hear.”

“What about you? How was your first time?”

I shrugged. “Awkward. Condom ripped midway.”

  “Oh wow. Did anything…”

“No, nothing happen. No surprise pregnancies or anything like that. It just killed the mood. Hell, I didn’t even cum.”

  “Damn.”

“Yeah, brutal. Last time I’ve been with anyone was three years ago. Freshman year. Dorm room sex.”

“What’s wrong with dorm room sex?”

“Everything. The whole sock on the door, the worry that your
roommate could walk in on you at anytime. I hate it.”

Ali laughed shaking her head. “That’s the best part.”

  “Figures. You would like it.”

  She giggled and shrugged.

  “What about you? Last time?”

“I’ve been dry for a while too. It’s been a year.”

“Year, Huh? Better than the first time?”

“Much. Still wasn’t amazing though. Focused way too much on himself. Plus, I think he had an asian fetish. Keep asking me to yell out something in Japanese even though I’d told him I was Korean.”

“Oh, that’s terrible. I’m sure if there was a mirror, he’d stare at himself the entire time.”

“Ha, that’s gross.” Ali and I shifted positions. I sat up and she remained leaning in my lap. Her fingers drew doodles on my chest as she breathed in deeply.

“Do you miss it?” She whispered.

  “Sex?”

  She nodded.

“Yeah, I’m a guy. So, sex is always on my mind. However, with sex comes complications. I didn’t want that, so I choose to be absence until I graduate. You?”

“Yeah, I’m in the same boat. Grades come first. Getting this job at Forrest &Young is my dream.”

“Mine too,” I replied. We both fell silent for the first time in hours. For most of the day, we had something to talk about but for the first time, we had nothing to say. It was strange.

Ali looked up from my chest and stared into my eyes. “Michael I just wanted to say…What ever happens tomorrow, I’m glad that I spent a wild, carefree day with you.”

“Me too,” I grinned. Looking down, I noticed Ali inch closer to me. Looking at her lush, plump, pink lips, my body yearned to kiss her. We both gazed into each other eyes, silently taking in each other. God were her eyes gorgeous. It was like looking at an amber orange sunset on the beach. The butterfly feeling returned as we paused.

Am I crazy, but does she feel something for me too? I wondered.
