Trey shook his head and rose, and stalked around the room. Millie was worried and afraid that he was going to explode.
“I can't believe you would dare to ask me that. You really think that of me? That I'm just some dumb jock who needs to be carried through school because I'm not good enough for anything other than throwing a ball? I may not be the smartest guy around but I'm no idiot and I know when I've been played. This interview is over. I'm done,” he said, and walked towards the door.
6
“No, wait,” Millie cried out. Trey stopped. “Look, I'm sorry, it wasn't me, these were the questions that my editor had I just...I wasn't going to ask it. I'm sorry,” she repeated, but her words fell on deaf ears.
“No, you're all the same, you all just want to tear me down because you hate that everyone loves me, and you're all jealous. You just want me to sell your newspapers. I've seen you around you know, I know your reports but you never actually involve yourself in our world. You always stay distant, like you're ashamed to be associated with us. Take your interview and shove it, I'm done with this,” he said, and promptly left. Millie sank onto her bed as her world crumbled. She thought about calling Cindy but knew that it would do no good, because Cindy would never accept the blame. She would merely say that Millie asked the questions wrong or something like that, and Millie's dream of writing her own editorials would vanish into thin air. Gripped by desperation, Millie grabbed her jacket and ran out of the house to find Trey, who was just getting into his car.
“Trey! Wait!” she said, and he turned around even as one leg was in the car.
“I have nothing to say to you,” he said.
“Well I have something to say to you. Yeah, I keep myself separate but that's because I don't fit into your world. You might think that you've got me all figured out but you don't know anything about it. It's easy for you. Everyone loves you and you didn't even have to do anything. I've been going to Angel High for years and barely anyone actually knows me. I got on this paper to try and write meaningful stories that will help me in my future career because I see a future longer than high school, but all I do is write about football all the time and I don't even like the sport! You get to do what you love and you have the adoration of the entire town. So I'm sorry if I asked you a hard question but maybe it's about time that you don't have everything easy, maybe it's about time you had some kind of challenge in your life.”
After she stopped speaking she almost seemed shocked at herself since she never usually spoke with such vigor, and could only put it down to the fact that her frustrations had festered inside for so long and Trey had somehow unlocked them. It had taken something out of her as well, and she was panting breathlessly, and almost wanted to run back inside but she couldn't because Trey was there, and he had more to say.
“You know nothing about me. You have no idea what it's like to be living this lie. You think that everything in my life is perfect? You have no idea where I've come from or what's happened to me. And you think I haven't earned this respect? I get up every day and I practice in the morning and in the afternoon. When I'm not playing I'm still playing and I can't escape the games because I'm always looking at what I did wrong or what I have to do next game. And the better the team does, the more is expected of me but nobody cares about the pressure I'm under, and the stupid thing is that it isn't my damn dream. At least you're doing what you want to do. I'm just doing what my dad wants me to do because I can, and because there's nothing out there for me. Everyone thinks they know me but no one really does. So don't come up here and lecture me when you have no idea what you're talking about,” he spat.
“That's it,” she said, stunned by his outburst, but shaken even more by the revelation.
“What's it?”
“That's the story. That's what the interview should be about. You say that nobody understands you, let me help you, show them the pressures you're under, tell them about your hopes and fears, make them see you as the person you are, not just the quarterback or the savior of the city. Come back upstairs and we can talk about real things, please. They will all be my questions, none of Cindy's,” she said with an imploring look in her eyes, and it must have worked for Trey sighed and closed the door, and he followed her back into her room.
“Let's start again. Tell me from the beginning. Tell me about why you transferred,” she said.
“I...I really don't want to do that,” he said.
“Trey, look, you're not going to get anyone to understand the man inside unless you show them. You have to be honest, that's the only way this is going to work.” He took a deep breath and then looked up at the ceiling.
“Alright. Look. I was with a girl there. Her name was Nicole. We were in love and I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with her. I didn't even care about football really, I only did it because it was fun, but most of my passion went into her. Then she killed herself, and I still don't really understand why. We were so happy, at least I thought we were, and in her note she told me that it wasn't my fault and I shouldn't blame myself but how could I not? I was the closest person to her and I couldn't save her, how is that even possible? And then it started at school. Everyone was saying that I had done something to her, that she killed herself because of me. I tried to fight back but that only made it harder and eventually we had to leave. And I saw Angel High, and I know it's stupid but it seemed like a sign. I needed an angel, and I figured if I was going to start again anywhere it might as well have been somewhere with a name like that. And then football became my biggest passion, and I put everything into that, but every time I score I always do it in memory of her, because I don't think I'll ever stop loving her and I just can't get over the fact that I'll never know why she did it. There will always be that little piece of me that wonders if I could have done something more,” he said, on the verge of tears. “So when you asked me earlier if I was dating anyone the answer is no, because I've never been able to tell anyone this before, and I don't even know if I'm capable of loving anyone else.”
A silent tear rolled down his cheek and Millie felt herself incredibly drawn to him. She walked across the room and sat beside him, placing her arm around him.
“You told me,” she said in a soft voice, and as their eyes locked they felt something surge between them. Then Trey chuckled, and sniffed back his tears.
“What is it?” she asked.
“The way the light is shining behind you, it looks like you're an angel,” he said. They both smiled, and Millie felt her cheeks flush with desire. He had just told her a secret that he had never shared with anyone, and although they had only really just met she felt more connected to him than she did with anyone else. She felt a swell of emotion within her heart that propelled her ever closer towards him. His hand came up and brushed the side of her face, sending electric tingles crackling through her skin. She gasped slightly as Trey undid her ponytail, and her golden locks flowed down over her shoulders.
“You're beautiful,” he said, and his hand ran around her neck and slid down the side of her body, curling around her back, placing pressure on it, drawing her into him. His body was hard and hot and his lips were fervent. She enjoyed that sweet moment of forever just before their lips met, when she could taste his breath on her, and then their lips met and her mind exploded. Desire flooded their bodies and their kiss became deeper and more passionate, fueled by a lust that knew no bounds. They scrambled to tear away each other’s clothes. Soft moans escaped Millie's lips as her hands ran over his sculpted, athletic body. His large hands squeezed her curves and tortured her with their scorching touch. Her body throbbed and screamed for him, and she felt as though she was on fire as he stripped away her clothes, moving around her body, groping her full breasts. Her nipples were like bullets and he took them in his mouth, kissing and teasing them with his teeth, feeling the pert supple flesh around them tremble as he pulled her over him until she was laying on top of his wide, thick frame.
His large hands held he
r in place as they kissed. She peppered his neck and upper torso with a trail of kisses, and beneath her burning crotch she could feel his swollen arousal. She gasped as she felt its hunger and wanted to feel it and taste it, but Trey had other plans. He grabbed a fistful of her hair and pulled her up his body until she was sitting over his face. He breathed in her feminine scent and she shuddered as she felt him exhale against her, then his tongue flicked out and began to pleasure her. His hands slid around the backs of her thighs and pushed her into him so that he could bury himself in her. He drowned himself in her orgasmic juice that exploded over his face, a result of the intensity and the suddenness of their desire.
Wanting to return the favor, she slid down his body and started to play with his erection until it glistened with her saliva. She sucked and teased the tip, then watched with wide eyes as his head arched back when she took it all in her mouth. He begged her to ride him, and she gladly obliged.
Their bodies moved in sweet harmony. His hips slammed against hers as he plunged himself inside her, getting deeper and deeper with every thrust until she was filled with him. Her nails dug into his back as she tried to brace herself for the thunderous onrush of orgasmic energy, and when his body convulsed violently as he released himself within her she cradled his mighty body close to her. Her eyes squeezed shut at the blissful desire of it all, and she knew in that moment she wasn't going to finish the article, for she wanted the secret to be her secret, and the pain he felt was going to be hers to heal.
THE END
Abducted by the Alien Lord
Chapter one
I stand here at the bus stop knowing that today is the day that they are making the announcement for the promotion. I have my eye on a corner office, but I know that I will never get it. It will go to that slut Jessica. Everybody knows that she’s been sleeping with those that are higher up to get ahead of the game. I never wanted to be like that. Besides, my weight issue had prevented me from being that kind of seductress. I wanted to slap some one, kick the living hell out of some unsuspecting victim, but I had only my thoughts to keep me occupied.
“Mariah, you look like you lost your best friend. Don’t tell me that you are still thinking about that damn promotion. The universe will provide and all you have to do is wait and good things will happen to you.” Jonathan was a good man, but he was always too damn chipper. He was my friend, but he was secretly seeing my sister. Neither one of them knew that I’d already figured it out and was waiting for them to drop the bombshell on the family. “Life has a funny way of giving what you need and not what you want. Be grateful for those things that you do have. There are a lot of people that suffer every day living hand to mouth and never knowing where their next paycheck is going to come from.”
“Don’t you think that I know that?” I’ve seen those people panhandling on the streets and it makes me sick inside. People have all this money and they shield themselves from the outside world. They don’t want to know what is happening right in front of their eyes. The worst of them all is those gated communities that think that they are safe. Life would be so much better if we all lived on the same salary as everybody else. There would be no famine, no starving and no people sleeping on the streets. It would be utopia, but we are just too damn selfish to get out of our own way.” I was very passionate on this topic. I’m sure that I ranted to Jonathan on many occasions.
“You speak like a woman that wants to do something about it. I know that you volunteer at the soup kitchen on weekends and that is a good start. I’m working for Habitat for Humanity. I could really use a hand and maybe you can roll up your sleeves and get dirty for a change.” I was not one for manual labor, but for a good cause I could definitely make an exception.
“I don’t know what I can do to help, but I’m more than willing to give the effort.” Giving back had given me a purpose. My work at the IT company was just going through the motions. I would input numbers and do the exact same thing every day. It was monotonous. I didn’t get paid much, but at least I had a job. “You’ve convinced me. If you can show me how to use a hammer and put one in my hand, I’ll see what I can do.” I wanted to do more to make the world a better place, but sometimes life got in the way. I was known to have bouts of depression, but nobody ever knew and that was exactly the way that I wanted to keep it.
“I don’t know why you wear such frumpy clothing. You have a beautiful figure and you are made in God’s image.” If I was made in God’s image, then he must’ve been one hell of a big guy. I was not in the best of shape, even though I did make a point of doing yoga every morning. I felt like I had a strong core, but I didn’t know how to lose those extra pounds. “There is somebody for every one. Some guys like a little bit of extra meat on the bones.” I may have been blond, but I was not a bodacious bombshell by any means. I felt like screaming to the world that they should eat something. I had a healthy appetite, but I knew what was good and what was bad for me.
I was wearing an old pair of black jeans with a pair of mid-high blue sneakers and a blue sweater with white stripes along the sleeves. I didn’t exactly put it all out there, although my breasts were a focal point with some of the guys in the office. They didn’t know, but I could see that they were ogling the merchandise. They would stare open mouthed, until they realized that they were not being very subtle. It was then that they would turn away in disgust at their own behavior. I secretly liked the attention.
“I think that I’m going to play hooky and call in sick for the day. I’m going to take this bus to the very last stop. I’m going find a car to rent and take off for the weekend on a road trip.” I called my boss and told her that I was feeling under the weather and that I would see her on Monday. If she was going to give me the news of the promotion, it would be now or never.
“I’m sorry that you’re not feeling very well, Mariah. Perhaps we should talk when you get back on Monday. I’m thinking about putting together a team of specialists and I believe that you might be a good fit. I’m sorry to say that you didn’t get the promotion and I’m sure that it’s not a big surprise to learn that it was Jessica. Don’t worry, she’ll either burnout in the first six months or go screaming into the night after a few days on the job. She’s not cut out for it, but there’s nothing that I can do. Trust me, I went to bat for you, but they had their mind set on a specific candidate and nothing was going to deter them from that.” I had a feeling. I closed the phone and smiled at having the freedom of the open road.
“I would go with you, but I have plans tonight.” Those plans included my sister Gillian getting together for a wild night of sex that was most likely going to put a smile on both of their faces. “I would really love to go on a road trip and maybe next time I can clear my schedule before hand.” Jonathon was a good friend and I don’t know why they were trying to hide their relationship. I was happy for them, but also sad at the same time that they had found one another. Maybe that was the reason why they were keeping it a secret. They didn’t want to rub it in my face. I was a little frustrated by their need to protect me.
I got on the bus and went to the very last seat and snuggled up against the window with Jonathan sitting right beside me. We talked about nothing in particular, until finally he arrived at his destination. I watched as his spiked blond hair and that nice compact ass walked down the aisle. The other night I heard muffled cries of ecstasy and I tiptoed to the door to see them in the throes of passion. He had her pressed up against the headboard with his hands pinning her to the bed with slow thrusts to keep the noise down.
I rode the bus to the last stop and then I got off and walked the rest of the way to the rental place. The only thing that they had was this little compact number with a name I couldn’t even really pronounce.
I wanted to make a clean break from everything, but I had no idea how to do that and still have a roof over my head at the same time. I was terrified of getting caught into a job that would never allow me to stretch creatively. Even the idea of joining a team
of specialists had made me shake my head and tremble with fear. I didn’t want anything to do with people in general and to be crowded into an enclosed space with many at a time was going to make me want to run right through the door like a cardboard cutout.
I was driving this very tight and enclosed piece of machinery. I could smell the exhaust like it was inside the very car that I was driving. I was in the middle of nowhere and getting back to nature was my idea of roughing it. I did not need the little mint on my pillow or the prerequisite breakfast to be served to me on a silver platter. I’d stopped by a local store and bought some necessary supplies to live off the land for three days.
“If you’re looking for good weather, then you don’t have to look too far. This weekend, we are calling for clear skies and temperatures that are going to dip no more than 77°. I wish that I had the day off, so that I could have a long weekend.” The announcer on the radio became nothing, but static. The car lost power, until it sputtered to a stop on the side of the road. I wasn’t going to get mad and it was counterproductive to get upset over something that was out of my control. I tried to turn the key, as calmly as possible, but there was only the ticking to remind me that the battery was probably dead.
I got out and picked up the bag of supplies, along with the black backpack that I had purchased to make those long treks that wouldn’t require a vehicle. I started to walk and this very bright light made me shield my eyes with my hand. I saw something of a figure and then, out of the light, came a blond Adonis with a white shirt and pants to match. He certainly didn’t look like he belonged out here amongst the cacti.
