Most of all, I want to express my gratitude to all the kids out there who’ve made Carol a small part of their lives. Occasionally I’ll hear a cranky grown-up complain about “these kids today” and their devices and their social media and on and on. That’s bunk. The children I’ve encountered during school visits and events are ten times smarter than I ever was at their age. Like Carol, they’re going to save the world.
