City Of Dragons Page 4

by Bonnie Burrows

She was almost unaware of Gavin’s hand on her thigh. She stiffened, and tried to focus on the TV screen again, but his palm spread across the fabric, inching upward. Rather than shocked or repulsed, she found herself wishing he had made a move sooner. She leaned back into the couch, nestling her head against Dylan as Gavin’s fingers continued to massage her leg. She had to restrain a little gasp as his fingers darted under the lip of the shorts, trying to get closer to her inner thigh. His nails scratched on the tender flesh and she exhaled slowly, her abdominal muscles quivering.

She looped her right arm under Dylan’s and squeezed as Gavin continued his progress, bringing his hands up higher. His fingers brushed her crotch through the fabric and she closed her eyes. It was too much, this teasing façade. He squeezed again and brought his fingers lightly up to the top button of her shorts. She let him trace it with his finger before popping it open, and she saw Dylan turn an eye toward what was happening.

“Guys,” she suddenly whispered. They both froze, as if waiting on her command. “I… I really am thankful, for everything… just—“

“I’m sorry, Sarah,” Gavin said reticently, “I… it’s just that dragons, when we turn back into humans. Our hunger isn’t just for food. I’m sorry, this was inappropriate.” He started to pull his hand away but she reached out and snagged his wrist, carefully brought it back to her groin where his fingers hovered over her shorts.

“No, it’s not that, I… I’ve just never been with two guys before. Be gentle,” she murmured.

Dylan and Gavin exchanged a look, and Gavin moved his hand lower, pulling down the zipper of her shorts. A triangular patch of white peeked out where her panties were waiting for him. Meanwhile, she tilted her head toward Dylan, and found him already snaking his lips toward her. His mouth was firm, rigid, like kissing stone at first, but as she worked her tongue against his lips, he relaxed. She squirmed and cupped the back of his neck, urging him further into her mouth. His tongue was like a serpent, diving into the abyss of her cheeks, licking hard at her own tongue, which cowered away from his and finally relented. Their wet embrace filled her mouth, and she struggled as a stream of his saliva poured into her throat. She gulped it back, letting him take her.

Meanwhile, Gavin’s hand traced the edge of her panties, tantalizing her. At last, he slipped his fingers underneath and Sarah gasped into Dylan’s mouth as his hand kneaded the soft mound of pubic hair. She bucked her hips forward, inviting him to move deeper, and her body shook with tremors as his middle finger explored over the ridge of her vulva and pressed down, spreading her labia.

“Unh, touch me like that, Gavin,” she groaned.

Dylan’s monstrous hand stroked her neck and moved lower, over her clavicle and across her breast. She sighed against him as he pushed and prodded, and finally took his wrist and guided it under her T-shirt. She wasn’t wearing a bra, which alarmed him at first, and then excited him even more as he kissed her harder. His fingers plied at the tender flesh of her breast and when he found her nipple it hardened under his touch. She pushed her chest out further, and on the other side of her Gavin kissed her shoulder, his hand still probing under her panties. His fingers moved lower and deeper, and she almost bit down on Dylan’s lip when she felt two fingers move up inside her, penetrating her vagina. Her waist scooted forward, and a warm glow of warmth issued from her loins.

“I want both of you,” she murmured.

It was Dylan who lifted her up like a toy, cradling her in his arms as he continued to kiss her, and marched her towards Gavin’s room. Gavin was close behind, already taking off his shirt and unbuckling his pants. Sarah laughed as he dropped her on the bed and she bounced. She pulled her own T-shirt off and both Shifters found themselves in awe of the large heaving breasts that piled out. Both her nipples seemed to stare back at them out of the dimness of the room and the way they caught the shadows of the room as they parted caused both men to stir.

Dylan leapt toward her first, kissing her savagely as she opened his legs for him and he began to kiss both breasts with an almost primitive urge until she gasped and tilted her head back. His hands moved lower, planting themselves on her hips as he grinded himself against her. Then, in one fluid movement, he rolled to one side with her on top and she giggled again as she propped herself above him. Sarah looked over her shoulder and saw Gavin eyeing her hungrily – on either side of Dylan she planted her knees and lifted her butt towards him.

He needed no cajoling and climbed up on to the bed behind her as Sarah bent to kiss Dylan again, both their mouths a warm wet mess. Gavin’s fingers pulled her shorts down around her ankles, even as she continued to stoop above Dylan, and the black dragon reached out and caressed her buttocks through her panties. With one finger he reached under her and gently rubbed the nub of her pubis, causing her to tremble.

Oh god, she thought to herself, wondering how much of it she could take.

She didn’t have to wait long. Gavin pulled the side of her panties away and her sex gleamed out at him, already wet and dripping with excitement. There was only a sparse amount of hair near her pubic region, and the rest had been diligently trimmed. With his finger, Gavin reached up and stroked her labia again, pressing a finger deeper into her vagina.

Sarah moaned loudly, lifting her ass higher, and he plunged his fingers into her wet cave again, causing it to squelch. She pulled back from Dylan. “Unh, fuck me already, Gavin, I can’t stand it any longer, put it in me,” she croaked.

Her own hand moved down and unbuckled Dylan’s pants, and when she reached under she found him stiff as a log. His body moved under her as she took it in her hand, massaging the organ between her fingers until he grunted. Behind her, Gavin had pulled his boxers off and his own member slapped against his navel, a rigid cone of manliness slick with pre-cum. She exhaled loudly as he pulled her panties down to her ankles and guided his penis toward her. It bumped against the divot in her legs and she made a surprised sound as it entered her.

“Oh, god, you’re so tight Sarah,” he murmured, his hands clenching her waist tightly as he drove himself into her slowly. She did her best to relax, but the muscles in her vagina cramped up as he made his way into her and she covered her mouth to keep from screaming.

Slowly, the three of them agreed on a rhythm, with Sarah pulling on Dylan’s member with quickening thrusts and Gavin arching his back and plumping her most intimate depths. The wet sounds of their collective lovemaking filled the small bedroom, combined with the moans of ecstasy that Sarah emitted as she felt herself entwined with the two Shifters.

She moved lower, scooting her butt higher into Gavin and brought Dylan’s member to her mouth, pushing her lips over its end. She tasted the salty slickness of his pre-cum, and wrapped her tongue around the head, slurping noisily as she sucked him off. She wanted him to cum in her mouth, she wanted to be filled by both men, and it was like a rampant passion that drowned out everything else. There was only this moment, this desire entering her like dragon-fire and burning away all the mundane and uncertainties she had kept locked up inside her.

“Sarah, your mouth feels amazing,” Dylan gasped. “Don’t stop.”

She sucked hard, moving her head up and down. His penis seemed to enlarge in her mouth, tickling the back of her throat and she moaned and tried to fit him inside her. As her tongue stimulated his head, he inadvertently bucked his hips, and she felt it stab into the back of her throat and pulled the heavy organ from her mouth, gasping. Saliva and pre-cum dripped from her mouth and dangled off her chin.

“I’m almost there,” he said, and she gripped his penis with both hands, pulling down hard again and again on the foreskin and watched his face tighten toward a climax.

Gavin had gotten into the rhythm as well, and was pile-driving her from behind. Her panties and shorts were still around her ankles, and she couldn’t move, so all Sarah could do was arch her back and endure the terrible ecstasy. She felt her own orgasm begin in her stomach and move outward. Her vagina locked
and tightened around Gavin’s member, and he came at the same time, butting his waist against her so that she made a gasp.

Her legs quivered as she came and she screamed and buried her face against Dylan’s chest. Wetness streamed from between her legs, running down her tanned legs and soaking into the sheets, wicked up by her panties and shorts, and Gavin withdrew. His seed seeped from her gaping vagina as she reached up and rubbed herself, inserting her own finger inside. At the same time, she felt another stream of warmth, but this time it was Dylan coming into her hand, his semen squirting against her breasts as he gripped at the bed. With a collective sigh she leaned against him, felt his own ejaculation squishing between their flesh. Gavin hopped up on the bed beside her and began to stroke her back as she slid off of Dylan. Her legs still flashed with the occasional spasm, and her breath was staggered.

“Is… is it always like this, with Shifters?” she asked breathlessly. Her long blond hair was wet and matted and Gavin kissed the back of her head.

“Usually,” Dylan remarked, trying to find his own breath. “It’s both a curse and a blessing. There’s a reason that the Order only allows teams of same sex partners.”

  “What do you mean?”

“The instincts we have while in Form, as dragons, are hard to ignore. The longer we ignore them, the more difficult it becomes to resist them. If the Order had decided to send another Shifter to our team, a woman, well… you can imagine what would happen.”

“You’d be too busy fucking each other silly to focus on the task at hand,” Sarah said preemptively.

“Well, I wouldn’t put it quite so crudely,” Gavin observed, “but… yeah, more or less.”

“Does that mean I’ve upset the balance?” she asked, suddenly feeling like an intruder again.

“No!” Dylan said quickly, his hand rubbing her waist. “We’re talking about Shifters here – it’s different with a human. I’m not saying humans don’t have desires, or strong urges, either. But between a Shifter and a human, at least we have some measure of control.”

Sarah suddenly tried to imagine what a female Shifter must be like. If the sex the three of them had just enjoyed was any indication, then it took a considerable amount of willpower on behalf of the men. In a way, she felt sad that she wasn’t a Shifter, as if somehow she were missing out on a fundamental benefit.

“Are you saying you can resist my womanly wiles?” she teased, reaching behind to caress Gavin’s cheek. “In that case, I’m a little disappointed. I guess I have to work harder at it.”

“Oh, nothing wrong with your wiles,” Gavin said, “believe me.”

The three of them lapsed into silence again, until Sarah was certain she was the only one awake. Gavin’s gentle snoring next to her was like a cat purring. She sighed and looked at the ceiling – she had never counted on making love to her saviors, and in some ways it only exacerbated the situation. At the same time, she felt somehow rejuvenated, as if her life had been renewed in terms of purpose. I’ve never really belonged before, she thought.

But with Gavin and Dylan, that had changed, even though it’d only been a week. But a week spent almost entirely in their company had passed slowly, until it felt as if months had been spent joking and laughing with them. Still, they were Shifters. Dragons. How could a human possibly fit into their lives? More to the point, how could they fit into her life? It was like a wave of sadness that came out of nowhere, and she gulped and leaned her head back against the pillow. The fan on the ceiling was lost in its circular thoughts. She didn’t notice Dylan awake beside her until his eyes diffracted the light coming in through the nightscape window.

  “You still awake?” he whispered.

  She nodded. “Just thinking.”

“Penny for your thoughts? Hell, I’ll give you a dollar,” he said.

Sarah grinned and shook her head. “My thoughts are free,” she murmured. “I was just thinking about you, and about Gavin. It’s strange, but I feel like my whole life has been leading up to this point. I know how that sounds, pretty hokey, but there it is.”

“I don’t think that sounds hokey,” Dylan said. She reached out and touched the scar on his temple.

“How did you get this, again?”

“One of my first missions,” he said, “was a Rogue that had been secretly killing and consuming civilians. We were tasked with tracking it down, eliminating it… we found him easily enough, but my partner, my old partner, not Gavin… although almost just as reckless… he charged forward before we had a good strategy.”

  “Wh-what happened to him?”

Dylan turned onto his back. “Fire took him. He took it full on; there was little we could do to help him. I dispatched the Rogue, but by the time I made it back to him, he was almost gone.”

Sarah held her hand to her mouth and wished she hadn’t asked. How awful. She knew that Dylan harbored ghosts, a lifetime of injuries and regrets and guilt, but nothing like this. The darkness of his personality suddenly seemed to clarify, and she pulled her hand back.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have brought it up,” she apologized.

He grinned and turned back, hugging her and drawing her into his chest. A pungent animal scent wafted between them but Sarah found it comforting. “It’s okay, really. Now, go to sleep. You must be exhausted,” he coaxed, and kissed her forehead again.

  CHAPTER SIX

When they all woke again, evening was just beginning. There were still a few daylight hours. Sarah thought it was amazing how she was now able to sleep during the day. There were those who could do polyphasic sleeping, where one slept for an hour or two, and then was awake for four hours at a time. But being able to become fully nocturnal was an unprecedented accomplishment.

She opened her eyes slowly and blinked. Both Gavin and Dylan were already up and she was alone in the bed. She rolled onto her back, and her breasts swayed. When she closed her eyes again she could almost feel the phantom memory of Gavin inside her, Dylan in her fist. She blushed and held her hands over her face, but couldn’t help smiling.

She found her panties and shorts on the floor beside the bed, and blushed a second time when she realized there was still the faintest dampness on them where she’d come. I’ll do laundry later, she thought, zipping them up and pulling on her T-shirt again. When Sarah made her way into the kitchen, there was an orangey glow coating everything. Sunlight was working its way like a needle through the atmosphere and pollution. She had always liked this time of day, just before it set. The way it made everything golden.

The art-deco furniture, the couch and the TV and kitchen table, were all arranged as she remembered but something was different. It took her a few moments to realize it wasn’t the apartment that was different, but the Shifters. Gavin was tapping his fingers on his pant-leg as he leaned against the window and studied the dying sun. He seemed distracted, and almost didn’t notice Sarah until she was right beside him.

  “Gavin, mor-… right, evening!”

“Oh! Sarah, uh… evening, of course, yeah,” he stumbled.

She gave him a look, and was about to question him when Dylan came in from the other room. He had a dismal look on his face and when he saw Sarah it only worsened. She lowered her gaze, wondering if she’d done something to upset them.

“What… what’s going on? Why are you both acting so strange?”

Dylan indicated for her to sit, but Gavin stood standing. “We got your blood sample back from the council, that’s where we went yesterday. I didn’t want to tell you last night, you seemed so happy… and I saw how much effort you’d put into making that dinner for us.”

Sarah felt like she was getting a terminal prognosis from a doctor. “So… so what did they say?”

“Our Order has existed for centuries… it’s our duty to ensure the peace between Shifters and humans remains stable, and that we stay a secret. But there is something we didn’t count on – we couldn’t have, because quite frankly we thought it was impossible.” He’s stalling, Sa
rah thought, and bit her lip. “Your blood results, as far as the council are concerned, are doubtable – somehow you have Shifter markers in your blood-type.”

“But that’s impossible!” she stared at Gavin for confirmation, but he only glanced away.

“That’s what we thought. You’ve never been able to transform, so I thought there must be another answer. But there’s only one reason you would have Shifter blood-markers… and that’s if one of your parents was a Shifter who had mated with a human. Hybridization is not unheard of, it’s just… incredibly rare.”

She reeled from the news and suddenly felt sick. A wave of nausea crashed against the shores of her consciousness, and she wondered if she might not pass out. One of her parents a Shifter? She had barely known either of them. Her father had disappeared when she was barely able to speak, and her mother had finally put her in adoptive care. A pleasant family life for sure, she thought bitterly. Her parents were as distant from her as any two people could be, but… the idea that one of them had been a Shifter? This is crazy.

“What does that mean… for me?” she said, her voice had gone limp.

Both Dylan and Gavin exchanged a look. “Ultimately, nothing… perhaps a bit of a stronger libido,” Dylan’s joke didn’t elicit a smile from either Gavin or Sarah, and he buckled, “maybe a slightly stronger healing factor. Increased strength, vitality; that’s what we assumed… until…”

  “This morning,” Gavin filled in.

“What happened this morning?” she asked.

“We got another message from the Order – which may shed some light on why they were after you, the Rogues I mean. Because hybrids are so rare, most of us don’t even bother to induct them into the Shifter realm. They can’t shift, so it’s better, easier, for them to simply live out their lives as humans in the human world.
