Reclaiming What Is Mine Page 5

by Sheena Binkley

I parked by her car. She sighed and told me,

"I really had a great time today. Thank you."

"I had a great time, too. I've been so busy that I hadn't had a chance to enjoy myself so thank you for doing that for me."

She gave a beautiful smile. "Maybe we can do it again someday."

  "Trust me, we will."

I leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. We slowly pulled apart and looked into each other's eyes. I knew I shouldn't be doing anything with her, but I couldn't help it. I pulled her to me and kissed her, enjoying her soft lips pressed against mine. She tried not to return it, but once I touched her back, she got into it, placing her hand on the back of my neck. I wished the glove compartment wasn't between us, because I wanted her closer to me.

She let out a tiny moan, making my dick stand at attention. She swirled her tongue with mine, while my hand roamed freely under her shirt. I pulled down one of her bra straps and cupped her breast, which had her panting. Good thing my car windows were tinted because I didn't need anyone to see us, but I probably wouldn't have stopped even if someone was watching.

I lightly pinched her nipple, making it hard, and she caressed my chest with one of her hands. She suddenly let go of me and looked out of the windshield.

"What's wrong?" I asked. I already knew what, but I had to ask.

"I can't do this. I really need to go," she said, pulling up her bra strap.

"Asia, I really hope I didn't offend you."

She gave a tiny smile and unlocked the door. "No, you didn't. I would have stopped you before now if I was. But I really should go. What time do you want me to report to work?"

"Nine, but you can meet me here at 8:30."

She nodded, said good-bye, then got out of the car. Once her door was closed, I threw my head back on the headrest. Fuck! Now, I was a little pissed and horny. I wanted to fuck her, but I knew I couldn't since I had a lot against me. I had to do what was necessary to get my mind off of Asia, and that meant getting with another woman. I called Courtney to see if I could come over; she anxiously agreed. As soon as I walked into the door, she pulled me to the wall and had her way with me. I didn't really care because that was the only reason I went over. Even though Courtney was in front of me, I still thinking about Asia. I even imagined she was Asia as I pounded myself inside of her. Courtney was beautiful, but I didn't want her; she was just a body to bone.

After I handled my business, I went back to my place, still not satisfied, but it would have to do. I got a text from Jason, asking if he could come over. I really didn't want any visitors, but I knew he wanted to talk about the case, so I told him he could. Now, the two of us sat in the living room, eating wings and drinking beers. I put down my beer bottle and stared at the TV; I didn't care what was on, but I just needed something to think about.

"What's going on, little bro? You've been quiet since I got here."

"Nothing Jase," I replied and picked up my bottle.

"You might as well tell me. I'm going to find out anyway."

  I sighed. "It's Asia."

  "Did she tell you anything?"

"She has, but not about her husband or Warren. We spent the day together in Surfside."

Jason exhaled. "Do you like her? If you do, you need to get that out of your head. For one, she's married, and don't forget, she's under investigation."

"Technically, her husband and cousin-in-law are under investigation, not her."

  "She could be an accessory."

  "I doubt it."

"Man, you've only known her for two days; she couldn't have put you under a spell that damn quick."

"I don't know what to think, Jase. I mean, there's something about her that I really want to get to know."

"You didn't fuck her, did you?"

"No, I didn't, but we did kiss."

Jason shook his head. "This shit is going to get you in trouble."

"It's not even about that. I told you she seemed really lonely. She's going through a lot, but she won't talk about since it involves her husband."

"It could be about his involvement with his cousin."

I shook my head. "I don't think it is. I really think it's something deeper."

Jason grabbed his bottle and took a long swig before looking at me. "Just remember your priorities, B. We both have a lot on the line, and I don't want it to get screwed up because you want to help Asia."

I nodded and looked back at the TV. He was right; I shouldn't let my feelings get in the way, but I did want to help Asia. I really hope he wouldn't get mad that I'd hired her at the agency.

It was the next day, and I was up bright and early to go to the coffeehouse. I walked in and noticed it was more crowded than usual. I looked across the room and saw Asia at our table, struggling with her laptop. Even from across the room, I could see how good she looked in my favorite color, cobalt blue. I made my way to the table and quickly hugged her from behind. She jumped a little but smiled when she realized it was me.

  "Hey," she greeted.

  "Hey. Nice outfit."

"Thanks. I know you said cobalt blue is your favorite color."

I nodded. "Indeed it is. You're a great listener."

"It's one of my best qualities."

I sat across from her and watched as she continued struggling with the charger and laptop. I shook my head with a smile. She looked up and smirked.

  "You think this is funny?"

"You have to admit, your computer is busted."

She laughed. "You're right about that, but I can't afford another one. Not right now, anyway."

"Well, you're in luck. There's a surprise for you when you get to the office."

She raised her eyebrow, wondering what I was talking about. "Really, and what's the occasion?"

"Let's just say it's a 'welcome to the agency' gift."

"I think just giving me a job is good enough," she said with a smile.

"Oh, it is, but I wanted to do something nice for you. I do that for all of my employees."

  "Aren't I your only employee?"

  "For now."

She gave a cute laugh, "I'm looking forward to working with you and your brother. I'm sure it will be a great experience."

"It will, especially when you get to meet people from a lot of great companies. And, from what you told me about your experience, you'll do just fine in assisting with our campaigns."

  "I really hope I do."

"Did you want anything before we go?"

Asia shook her head, and we got up to leave. She was starting to walk away when her foot got caught on her computer charger. She almost fell, but I caught her before she did. I didn't see how the dress was made since she was sitting down, but now, as she stood in front of me, that dress looked as if it was painted on. My dick jumped a little at the mere thought of having her this close to me. Damn, I needed to get a grip.

"Thank you," she said while her hands were placed firmly on my back.

My hands were doing the same, but they accidentally moved to her ass. Her body was pressed against mine, and she stared at me like she wasn't sure what to do.

"I need to get my things together," she said, rushing to move away from me.

I nodded and let go of her. She quickly put everything in her bag as I waited. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to have her working with me. There was too much sexual attention between us. I was almost sure that nothing would happen between us, but if it did, I didn't know if we would be able to still keep everything professional.

When she finished gathering her things, I told her to follow me to the agency. She looked at me again, then headed to her car. I watched her walk, noticing the sway in her hips, which made her ass look fucking good. Now, I'd probably have damn blue balls before getting to work. It took us 10 minutes to get to the building since I took the long way due to an accident on my regular route. She got out of her car and waited for me to get out of mine. I took a deep breath and got out, then went to the door an
d opened it. Jason wouldn't arrive until later that day since Maxine had a doctor's appointment. Today was the day they'd find out if she was having a boy or girl. They're hoping for a girl, but of course, with life, anything's possible.

I went inside and quickly turned off the alarm. Asia walked in behind me and waited until I got everything in order so I could show her around.

"This is a nice place. Did your mom decorate it too?"

"Actually, an old girlfriend of mine did. She was an interior designer."

Asia nodded and walked around. I went over and grabbed a folder sitting on the desk near where she was standing. I took a quick sniff of her perfume, a light floral scent. Usually, those type of scents made my head hurt, but hers was exhilarating.

My body pressed up against hers, and her ass was against the front of my pants. I slowly caressed her shoulders, and she shivered.

"What are you doing?" she whispered.

Honestly, I didn't know what the hell I was doing. I just wanted to touch her. I knew I was acting like a pervert, but damn, she was working that dress.

Her dress slowly rose up as she grinded against me. I needed to put a stop to this.

"Asia, you know I'm attracted to you, just like you are to me."

She started breathing deeply, letting me know I was right.

"I know this is unexpected, but are you starting to have feelings for me? Because I'm not going to lie: I want to take you back to my place and pleasure your body so badly. I want to hear my name on your lips, your fingers clawing my back while you cum for me over and over again. I want to hold you in my arms as I hear you breathe against me, enjoying you and that sweet scent of yours. I just want you, Asia, and I was wondering if you want me, too."

I could feel her body stiffen then she turned around. I wondered if she was going to tell me she was married.

She closed her eyes and sighed.

"Bryon, I really do like you. You're great, but I don't think anything beyond a professional relationship will work between us. In fact, I probably shouldn't have taken this job because I am attracted to you."

  "Then what's the problem?"

"My life is complicated. You wouldn't want to be with someone like me."

  "Why not?"

"Because I've been lying to you since we met. I'm married, Bryon."

I was a little relieved that she'd finally told me. I'd been wondering how long she was going to keep that charade up. At first, she probably figured it was none of my business; now, she was letting her guard down, which meant she would tell more about her life and her husband.

"If you're married, why aren't you wearing your ring?"

She took a deep breath. "On the day we met, I was in such of a rush, that I left it at home; after that, I just never wore it around you. I didn't want you to know."

"Thank you for telling me. You could have went on with the charade, but you didn't. At least you're being honest now."

She smiled. "Yeah, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm attracted to you. I feel like I'm cheating on my husband, and we haven't even done anything."

"We did kiss," I reminded her.

  "It was sort of innocent."

  "I felt you up."

  "Which was kind of nice."

"Are you saying your husband's not doing that for you? He's not making your body tremble?"

She gave an innocent smile. "He hasn't done a lot of things lately, but it's probably partly my fault."

"You want to talk about it?"

She shook her head. "There's not much to talk about."

  "Do you love him?"

Her eyes looked sad as she sat down. "Honestly, I don't know. At first I did, but so much has happened between us. Now, I just feel like we're together just for convenience. Well, that's what it feels like for me, anyway. I want us to get back on track, but I have to wonder, is it worth it?"

I grabbed a chair from the table nearby and sat beside her.

"I shouldn't be talking about this here. This is my first day on the job, and I'm talking about my marriage."

"It's fine, Asia. It's just you and me here."

She turned to me with an unsure expression. "I do want for us to continue being friends. Even

though we've only known each other a short time, I've really enjoyed the time we've spent

together. I don't have too many friends, so it's nice to be able to hang out with someone."

"I still find it hard to believe you don't have any friends."

"It's mainly me and my personality. I think I'm more interested in writing than actually being

out in the world. Not just that, but everyone I know is married and have kids. They're happy

and don't feel the need to have girls' night out. Instead, they want to be with their

  families."

"Well, I don't know how much of a girlfriend I can be, but I can try."

She laughed. "You're doing just fine, Bryon, thanks."

"Do you ever wonder how your life could have been?"

  "All of the time. One minute, I was happy, and we were able to work through anything together;

now, we're struggling, sharing a car, moved in with his aunt, and barely speak to each other. This

isn't the life I envisioned for myself."

  "I can imagine."

"I always thought about how things would be: owning a house, driving a car that doesn't break down

every three months, and just being happy. I think that was the most important thing for me. Although

material things are nice, it's not what life is about for me. I want to live and have memories I can

  remember for years to come."

I took my hand into hers. "And you'll get that. I know you will." Judging from her expression

and the way she looked at me, I knew she wasn't lying about her situation. She really didn't know what

her husband was doing, and that made me feel a little more sorry for her and the situation he had her in. I

realized that maybe I could be the man to give her the memories she desired and make her happy.

It was the second day of my new job, and I was a little excited but also nervous because I'd be seeing Bryon again. A part of me wondered if I should have even taken the job since I would be around him so much, but since this was in my field and no one else hired me, I figured I might as well take it.

When I told Dwight that I'd found a job, he was ecstatic that I was working again, probably thinking we could get our own place again soon. But I felt I shouldn't be the only one making an effort in that area. He needed to as well so we wouldn't be in the same predicament again.

I walked into the office and saw Bryon at his desk. He glanced up with a sexy smile, which caught me off guard.

"Hey. How are you this morning?"

"I'm great. I'm eager to start working."

"That's what I like to hear."

I went to sit at my desk. He followed me with a coffee cup in his hand. I smiled as he handed it to me.

"I hope you still drink vanilla latte. I noticed that's what you ordered on the days we were at the coffeehouse."

  "Of course. Thank you."

  "No problem."

"So, how did you spend your evening?"

I took a sip of my coffee and looked at him. I didn't want to go into details about being with Dwight. I really didn't want to talk about that with him.

"It was fine. Didn't do too much. What about you?"

"Nothing much. Just watched TV and went to sleep. Nothing to brag about."

We stared at each other, not knowing what more to say, then I broke the silence.

"Did you tell your brother that I work here?"

"I haven't talked to him so he doesn't know, but believe me, he won't mind that you are. We need the help, and you're a great asset."

I was logging onto my computer when Bryon nodded, like he'd just remembered something.

"With everything that's happened, I forgot to
give you your surprise yesterday," he told me. I became curious as he walked to the back. He came back out with a big box wrapped with a pink bow.

  "Here you go."

I smiled, taking the bow off. I opened the lid and was shocked to see what was inside.

"Wow, Bryon, you didn't have to do this," I gushed, pulling out a MacBook with a pink laptop sleeve.

"I know pink is your favorite color, so I know you would like it."

I shook my head and put it back into the box. "I can't accept this, Bryon."

"Yes, you can. You need a reliable computer, and the one you have is not. Just consider it an investment."

  "An investment?"

"In your writing. I know you're going to make it big, and when you do, just remember me, okay?"

I was trying hard not to shed any tears. He was being thoughtful, making it harder for me to let go of my feelings for him.

"That's not all," he added. He walked to his desk and pulled another box from the drawer then handed it to me.

  "Bryon –"

  "Just open it."

When I opened it, I saw that it was an iPad Air with a pink case and a built-in Bluetooth keyboard. I looked up at Bryon, and he grinned.

  "Wow, thank you."

"You're welcome. Now, that is a welcome to The Gibson Group gift. You're going to need it for when you're on the go for certain campaigns."

"Really? Are you saying that I have to travel for presentations?"

"Yeah; I hope that won't be a problem with you or your husband."

I shook my head. I didn't know if it would be, considering I'd be alone with Bryon.

"Not at all. It's for the company," I finally said.

"That's good to hear. Now that I've given you your gifts, it's time to get to work. Don't worry, though, I'll let you take off a little early to work on your story, which by the way, you should let me read."
