“I guess that’s something that you will just have to trust me on. You are the woman that I want and I no longer want her in that capacity.”
She shook her head, “How did all of this even come about? Why is she coming back?”
“I know that you wanted someone on board that could actually help you. Charlotte knows the job and I know that she would be willing to come back and work. You don’t have time to train a new assistant right now.”
For some idiotic reason, I decided to keep Charlotte’s late night visit over to my house a secret. Nothing inappropriate happened but I wanted this conversation to go as smoothly as possible. That wouldn’t happen if I disclosed that piece of information to her. I don’t imagine that any woman would be happy about her boyfriend’s ex stopping over at an odd hour of the night.
“So in the midst of all of this, you still aren’t going to go public with our relationship?”
Her question seemed to come out of left field as if she’d been holding it in for a while.
“Where did that come from?”
“You said that I could ask whatever I wanted, and so I’m asking.”
“If you’re concerned about Charlotte, I will let her know about our relationship. She knows how to maintain discretion.”
She rolled her eyes and gave me the stare of death.
“Whoa, what did I do to deserve that look?”
She opened her mouth as if she was about to let me have it and then closed it.
“Tell me,” I said.
“I just feel like a secret. I feel that you’re never going to tell everyone about us and that you’re ashamed of our relationship. I love you and I want to be with you but I’m getting a little tired of hiding.”
I wasn’t entirely sure as to how I should respond. I noticed that she was extremely frustrated and she did have a point. I wasn’t ashamed of our relationship but I wasn’t ready to deal with the backlash that could come from it. Although my family knew about the both of us, they didn’t completely accept it. They wrote it off as a phase that I’m going through and they don’t take it seriously. I haven’t told Camille because I didn’t want to hurt her.
My father suggested that I keep it quiet until I’ve made up my mind about what I permanently want. The social circle that I’m a part of is very judgmental and they believe in maintaining the status quo. I’ve been taught to go along with what’s needed to get what I want and to achieve results. My father warned me I could potentially lose clients over my relationship with Camille. I didn’t want to lose them or her and so I was in quite a predicament.
“I understand that you’re frustrated. But trust me; this is for the best right now. When the time is right we will go public. Aren’t you happy with me?”
“Of course I’m happy with you; I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t. Sometimes it just gets difficult and I think that this trip highlighted it. I had such a good time and I wish it could be like that all the time,” she said.
I breathed a sigh of relief because she was beginning to soften. I reached across the table to grab and stroke her hand.
“Please never doubt my feelings for you. Give me a chance and I’ll show you how great things can be,” I pleaded.
“I will, and I hope that it all works out. You are where I want to be and I’ll stick it out for as long as I can. Just please don’t make me regret it. I’ve had my share of bad relationships and I don’t want to do it anymore. I would rather be alone than be mistreated. I appreciate everything that you do for me, but it’s how you treat me that makes me stick around.”
Her admission warmed my heart and I wanted so badly to be the person that she was challenging me to be. I wasn’t in the position to freely be myself right now. I still had a lot to prove as the CEO of the company and something like this could force my father out of retirement. He’s so damned stubborn and he’s been watching my every move.
“Believe me; I hear everything that you’re saying. You lighten up my life in more ways than one. I have no intentions of letting you go at all. I love you, so please stick it out with me.”
A big smile spread across her face, “I’m here for you and I’ll do my best. I will try to take your business into consideration as well. I know that things aren’t as black and white as they may seem.”
“That’s my girl,” I responded, “Now how about we make use of the room that’s in the back,” I said as I wiggled my eyebrows.
She giggled, “After you Mr. Kane.”

It was back to the daily grind on Tuesday. My conversation with Camille went better than I expected. I wasn’t sure how she was going to take the news about Charlotte, but she did her best to stay level headed. I inducted her into the mile high club before we got off of the plane, and we haven’t spoken about it since.
Things have been a little tense this morning because Charlotte will come in to complete her paperwork. I’ve called a meeting so that the three of us can have a firm understanding about my expectations. Camille also needs to be assured that nothing is going to happen between Charlotte and me. I would probably never tell her that Charlotte would like for us to be a lot more, but that’s because I want to keep the peace between all of us.
I called Charlotte shortly after our plane touched down and told her about my decision. To say that she was excited would be an understatement. She promised that she wouldn’t bring any drama to my office and that she would do the job to the best of her abilities. For her sake as well as my own, I hoped that was the truth.
“Check your email at your earliest convenience, I’ve copied you on the itinerary that I’ve sent out to the staff for the meeting tomorrow,” Camille said as she walked into my room.
“Thank you Camille,” I said.
“Also Charlotte is here, her paper work is finished, and I think she’s ready to come to your office so that we can get the ball rolling,” she said with a sigh.
“Okay, bring her in and let’s get this over with, but first shut the door and come here,” I said.
She raised an eyebrow at me and did as I asked.
“Is everything okay?”
“Yes, everything is fine. I just wanted to take the time to assure you that I love you,” I said as I walked to her and pulled her into my embrace.
She relaxed against my body and placed her had on my shoulder, “I know you love me, but it’s always nice to hear it directly from you.”
“Of course,” I said as I placed a kiss on her forehead.
“I’ll do my best to get along with Charlotte. As long as she’s nice and respects the both of us, then we will get along fine. I’ll keep my claws put away.”
“Great, now bring Charlotte in,” I said and then gave her a light smack on her rear.
I took a deep breath to steady myself before we started the meeting. I wasn’t exactly sure what to say once they both were in front of me, but I knew that we had to have a talk before we all worked together.
“Good morning Kyle,” Charlotte said in an upbeat tone. A huge grin was spread across her face, “It’s good to be back.”
I gave her a brisk nod, “It’s good to have you back, I’m sure that you’ve already met Camille. Please take a seat, the both of you,” I said as I motioned to the seating area in my office.
They both took a seat on opposite ends of the couch. They’re body language showed that they were tense and unsure of what was going on.
“I wanted to bring the both of you into a meeting today so that we can move forward and be as productive as possible.”
They both nodded and looked at me intently. I felt my palms begin to sweat. I’ve lead meetings with some of the most influential people in my industry without sweat. I would rather stand before a crowd of 5,000 than in this room, but it needed to be done.
“Camille will continue in the capacity that she’s in,” I said to Charlotte.
“May I ask what capacity that is?” Charlotte asked.
“She handles communication with cl
ientele, maintains my schedule, and is the first point of contact when people want to get in touch with me. She is my representation when I can’t be somewhere.”
“So what will I be responsible for?”
“You will handle my day to day affairs. You will get my coffee, laundry, do the set up for my meetings, create correspondence, and other duties as assigned,” I said. “The bottom line is that we will all work closely together, the two of you are my eyes and ears and so it’s imperative that you get along. Do either of you feel that this will be a problem?”
“That’s not a problem for me; I look forward to working with you Charlotte. I’m glad you’re here because doing it all on my own was driving me nuts,” Camille laughed softly.
“Well that’s what I’m here for. I hope to make both of your lives easier. I’m so grateful to Kyle for giving me another chance. I’m here strictly for work and if I can ever help you with something, please let me know. We’re a team now,” Charlotte said brightly.
“Well that’s settled then,” Camille said with a tight smile.
She obviously didn’t care for Charlotte’s choice of words, and I found myself second guessing my choice. I wouldn’t know how it plays out until I gave it a chance.
“Charlotte we will see you bright and early. Camille has compiled a list of the things that need your immediate attention. Charlotte I need you to get Donald Alexander on the phone and route it to my office.”
“I’ll get on that right away after I give Charlotte the list,” Camille said as she rose to her feet.
“I look forward to getting to work in the morning; I will see the both of you in the a.m.” Charlotte said as she followed Camille out of my office.
I walked over to my crystal decanter and poured myself a short glass of my favorite scotch. I got through it, and I was happy that it was over. That was easier then I thought!

The sunlight shined brightly through my window, and I woke up to find Camille in the kitchen cooking me breakfast in one of the satin gowns that I purchased for her in Paris.
“I love the weekends,” I said as I hugged her from behind as she cooked my steak.
She gave me a quick kiss on the cheek, “I love the weekends too. Now sit down, breakfast is almost ready.”
I took a seat at the island in the middle of the kitchen and looked at all of the food.
“Are we expecting company?” I laughed.
“No, I just wasn’t sure what you wanted so I decided to make everything.”
“I think I’m going to eat a little bit of all of it. This is a breakfast that’s fit for a king, now you’re going to have to cook for me all the time.”
“Don’t get too comfortable,” she said, “I was just in the mood this morning.”
“Please tell me what I did to deserve this, so that I can do more of it.”
She placed all of the food on the table before me and got us plates and utensils. I loaded up my plate with eggs, French toast, steak, and grapefruit slices. My stomach gave a deep growl in anticipation.
“I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you. Things have been going pretty smoothly over the last 3 month with Charlotte. I wasn’t sure how things would go, and I was very skeptical about it all. But you’ve made the transition really smooth. I won’t lie and say that there aren’t times where I’m jealous because she gets to be with you so much, but I know that everything is kosher.”
Her words warmed my soul. I was doing my best to be as transparent as possible about everything that was happening with Charlotte. I didn’t want to give Camille any reason to feel threatened. Charlotte tried to flirt every now and then, but I put an abrupt end to it. It seems that all of us were settling into a comfortable flow, and they were working out in the way that I hoped.
“That’s what matters babe, you mean the world to me and don’t you ever forget that,” I said.
She beamed at my statement and began to eat her food. I was one lucky man. I had the opportunity to wake up next to her on most mornings. She was my submissive, but she possessed an inner strength that was intoxicating to be around. She submits to me because it’s what she wants to do, and she’s doesn’t shrink under my leadership. I’ve watched her flourish sexually and professionally, and it’s been wonderful to watch.
She wears my collar around her neck everyday, and she never complains. In the beginning I would request that she put it on, and I no longer have to ask. She belongs to me, and I’ll cherish her for as long as she allows me to.
“What are you staring at?” She asked as she stuffed a piece of pancake into her mouth.
“I’m looking at you, I’m allowed to do that you know.”
“Well if you’re going to look, then you may as well touch,” she said flirtatiously.
“Oh I’ll touch you alright; I think your ass is still sore from all of the touching that I did last night.”
“You may have a point,” she grinned coyly.
“I know I do, so you may want to think twice before you challenge me.”
“Oh believe me; I’m going to take that into consideration. It’s already hard for me to sit down after you had so much fun with the flogger last night.”
“Good.”
#Chapter5
“Your head is on the block for this” Kyle Kane Senior
My weekends always go by so fast, if it was up to me they would last forever. I’ve never looked forward to my weekends as much before I met Camille. She forces me to leave my house and to see what Chicago is all about. People assume that because of my wealth that I have a great quality of life. The truth is that I was a workaholic before I met her. I worked most weekends, and I fit sex into my schedule.
With Camille, I carved time out specifically for her, and I wanted her all to myself. She makes me feel selfish and protective. It’s a different feeling, and I liked it. I wanted to be able to officially express my feelings for her, but running the company was holding me back from doing so.
I was already looking forward to going home because I wouldn’t get the chance to see much of Camille. She was out tying up some loose ends for with a few clients and putting the finishing touches on a charity ball that would take place the next month.
“Good morning Mr. Kane,” Charlotte said as she strolled into my office with my morning coffee.
“Good morning Charlotte,” I responded after I took my first sip.
“Do you have some time this morning to speak with me?”
“Sure, I have about 20 minutes.”
“Great,” she sighed.
“Is everything okay?”
“Yes, everything is fine but I just wanted to warn you about Amanda.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well apparently Amanda is super pissed off about the fact that she had to leave her job after she was served by your lawyer.”
I nodded, “Well that’s not my problem.”
“Well it may be your problem soon because she’s starting to spill the beans about you and Camille’s relationship. She’s also telling people about the kind of relationships that you’ve had with your previous assistants.”
My blood began to boil, and the asshole inside of me wanted to completely ruin Amanda. I would call my lawyer today to start the proceedings against her. I wasn’t just upset about her telling my personal business, but I was upset that this could hurt Camille. No woman wants to be portrayed as a man’s sexual secret. She deserved better than that and people should have found out under different circumstances. I felt partially at fault, but I was determined to not let it stain Camille’s reputation.
“Well thank you for letting me know Charlotte,” I said to her coolly. You always have to look cool despite your inner feelings, that is just what an alpha male does.
“You’re welcome; I had to be the first to tell you because I still care about you.”
“I care for you as well, that won’t change.”
“I love working with you as closely as I do;
it takes me back to before I left. I wish that things could be that way again.”
Is she fucking serious? I leaned back in my chair, and I was instantly put into a bad mood, “We’ve gone through this and I thought that we had a clear understanding of what was happening between the both of us.”
“I know I know,” she said, “but you can’t blame me for trying. I miss the way that you took control of me, fucked me on your desk, and tied me up. I don’t know if I’ll ever find another man like you.”
“You should have considered that before you chose to leave. Now this is the situation that we’re in, and nothing will change.”
“I’m telling you right now, that you can have the both of us. I would never make you choose,” she pleaded.
“I’ve already chosen. Can you please go get a pad of paper and a pen, I have some things that I need you to do today,” I said.
She looked as if my words slapped her across the face. Her cheeks flushed and she had the decency to look embarrassed. I didn’t want to be harsh to her, but she didn’t seem to get the memo. Tough love was that she was going to understand, and if this didn’t work then I would have to let her go. I didn’t want to let her go because she was great at the job, and she was a nice person.
After I told her my needs for the day, I set about calling my lawyer. I didn’t want things to get ugly with Amanda, but it seems that she wasn’t going to be happy until we had a bitter court show down. If that’s what she wanted, then I would crush her. I tried my best to avoid it, but it seemed to be inevitable.
The rest of my day went as expected and I rushed home to be in the arms of the woman that I loved. She was without a doubt the best part of my day. When I entered the house she was naked and sipping a glass of wine. Yum!
“Oh well good evening to me,” I said to her.
She smiled when she saw me walk into the front room.
“Hello sir,” she said as she rose to her feet to greet me with a kiss and a hug.
She smelled like lavender, and it instantly calmed me. Her body molded perfectly to my own.
“I feel overdressed,” she said as she unbuckled my belt, “We’re going to have to correct that.”
