Megan answered with clear humor peeking out of her voice. "Never." Then very happily she said, “It must be love."
Before they could tease her any more, or Ariel could hiss at them for it Creeg and Morax took their places behind and towering over their own mates. Looking down at them with clear displeasure in hungry Tellox eyes.
"She was not the only one who should have stayed on the ship," Creeg said. Morax did not speak, he raised his mate into his arms and headed from the transport room with determined steps.
Ariel might have worried for Megan if she had not seen her sister wrap her arms around his broad shoulders and bury her face in his neck. Her timid sensitive sister did not look worried.
Sara and Creeg started arguing. The rest of his men just smiled and headed out of the transport room. Ariel grimaced at her sister and her big scary mate. Even she could see this was a form of foreplay for them. And she was too tired suddenly to even make gagging noises and tell them to get a room.
Hearing her thoughts Brax could not sustain his anger and chuckled, then hit his com to call his men for an update. He had sent them ahead to check out their ship and make sure there were no surprises. He would not put it past Rygan to leave booby traps triggered at him just in case he escaped his trap.
Brax would not risk Ariel until it had been checked over. And the females had wanted to catch up and discuss their new homes with Ariel. But it was clear to him that no discussion of the future would be happening until they had all found their beds, in one way or another.
Ariel fell asleep in his arms before she could hear what they had found and that they had the all clear.
Safe. Her last thoughts, thoughts that she unknowingly shared with her mate, were that it did not really matter what ship or planet they were on, she was already home right where she was.
Brax pulled her closer in his arms. Appreciating the rare moment that she was still in body and mind and he could just hold her.
Creeg yanked his own mate into his arms and kissed the argument from her lips.
The Tellox, it occurred to him, might have won the small skirmishes on Earth, but he had no doubt the war went to the three tiny females.
And he would have it no other way.
