Justice looks at me as if he hasn’t a clue what I’m talkin’ about. He looks down and his eyes go wide as well. All of a sudden he wobbles and Ghost has to step behind him and grab ahold of him to keep him upright.

Wasp screams, “Someone get him out of here and get him to a Doctor A-S-A Fuckin’ P! We can’t stop now or we’ll never get another chance.”

I can’t watch someone else die so soon after my Pa, thank god Carson, our prospect and Tic’s blood brother, stepped forward and took all of Justice’s weight and starts to take off on foot.

“Prospect, stop! Take one of these mother fuckin’ cars. Just dump it after Justice is taken care of. Move now!” I scream.

The car bein’ so much closer is easier for us to get Justice there quick and we load him up as Carson screeches tires as he hauls ass out of there, knowing the attention we’ve already gotten from the fight. The squealin’ will surely garnish us a shit load more attention. It’s go time, we have no time for delays. Now it’s time to release all the anger I’ve been holdin’ in. I can finally aim it at who deserves every, single ounce of my anger.

  Chapter 31

  ~Lila Rose

We was sitting at the table and I was being really, really good for Papa so I didn’t get in trouble. I was seen and not heard as he demanded as we come to the table to meet the new people. The ones Papa says I’d go live with now. When we sat down, I met Mr. and Mrs. Torentino and their daughter, Bristol. She was really pretty, and really quiet, like I was supposed to be.

She kept sneaking smiles at me and it made me feel not as sad. She even winked at me a couple times and it made me laugh inside. I knew I’d really be in big trouble if I laughed out loud. She also seemed really sad to me. I’m gonna go live with her Mommy and Daddy and she’d come live with Papa. I feel sad for her having to live with him. He’s a big old meanie.

We were getting ready for dessert and it had been quiet until then. All of a sudden it got really, really loud outside and I wanted to run and hide. Before I coulda leave, Bristol grabbed ahold of me and pulled me under the table with her while the adults all ran around being all crazy.

“Hi Lila, I know this is all really scary, so we’re going to hide under here and pretend like no one knows were here. What do you think about that?”

I was too scared to talk so I just shook my head. The noises got louder and I got more scared. Bristol held my hand and tried to make me not so scared. It didn’t really work, all I wanted was to feel safe again. I wanted my Daddy to come take me away from here. I wanted his hugs. I heard a bunch of fighting and loud noises that hurt my ears.

I didn’t mean to, but I couldn’t make it stop. I was crying but I had to not let Papa see me. He hates it when little girls cry. It’s why Mommy never cries; she was told it would get her into trouble so she never did or does. Papa screams at us.

“Bristol, you stay there with Lila and keep her safe and with you. If anything happens to her, I will hold you responsible. You are her protector; I have to go eliminate the vermin trying to make their way into my home.”

Bristol rolls her eyes at him and then looks at me and crosses her eyes. It looks really funny and makes me laugh. I like Bristol, I hope she keeps me safe and becomes my newest, bestest friend.

  Bristol

Lila is such a beautiful little girl. I can’t believe she’s this loser’s granddaughter. How can someone so precious and pure come from someone so cold and criminal? He doesn’t deserve to have such beauty in his life. It doesn’t seem right to me. When all the yelling and fighting started outside, I started praying for someone to come and kill me to put me out of my misery, or to kill every one of these ‘parental figures’ and give me a chance to run and attempt a life outside of my parent’s every control.

The noise outside dies down, but the noise inside is anything but calm. I hear fear in my Dad and the nasty asshole, Mr. Cardozo. Whoever is out there, puts fear into them. Of course, my father makes sure my mom makes it to a room securely, me however, I’m disposable as has been proven by his willingness to trade me for this precious girl I hold onto.

Then everything inside comes crumbling down and I throw myself over Lila, hoping somehow I can save her from whoever these people are coming, they’re apparently looking to shed blood. I just pray it’s not mine or hers that ends up on the floor. As for every other person in this house, they can burn in the pits of hell as far as I am concerned.

  Chapter 32

  ~Tic

Rushin’ the house, I’m anxious to see my little girl. Needin’ to know that she’s good, that the bastard didn’t lay a finger on one hair on her head. So help him if he did, he won’t know what is comin’ his way. Nobody fucks with what’s mine. Especially my Lil’ Bit.

Breachin’ the front door, I know that I should be immediately lookin’ for my daughter. First things first, I see my target runnin’ from us and up the stairs. I start to charge him and halt in my steps when I hear the most beautiful, angelic voice.

“DADDY! I’m here Daddy, under the table.”

I slide to the floor on my knees and grab my little girl out of a young woman’s arms. She tried to fight me until I gave her a look that had her backtrackin’ quickly.

“Who are you’ I growl at the girl. ‘What are you doin’ with my little girl?”

“Daddy! Don’t be mean, this is my friend, Bristol. She saved me from all the meanness. Be nice or I’m gonna tell Momma on you.”

Chucklin’ at my little girl, happy as fuck to hear her scoldin’ me, has me feelin’ like a teenage girl with their giddiness. Fuck, since when did I grow a pussy. These girls of mine are killin’ me, I’m a motherfuckin’ enforcer, for Christ sakes. WTF, I need to readjust myself if I’m gonna keep my reputation with my brothers.

“All right baby girl, your old man will watch himself, for now anyways. I’m just so happy to be holdin you and knowin your safe and will be on your way home to your Momma soon.”

It’s a good thing I’m already on my knees, if I haven’t been I’d been brought to them by the quiver of my daughter’s bottom lip.

“I want my Momma,’ she cries, ‘take me to Momma, Daddy!”

“Soon baby girl, soon, I promise ya. Right now, I want you and your friend Bristol here to go outside with Ghost so he can keep you safe till Daddy deals with your Grandfather.”

“He’s not very nice Daddy, you should give him a time out and tell him to leave me and my Momma alone. Okay?” She says grabbin my face in her chubby little hands, makin’ me look into her eyes so I know how serious she is.

“Absolutely, baby girl, he’s gonna go on a time out and he’ll never ever be a bother to you or your Momma again. You feel me?”

She shakes her head up and down at me in acknowledgment of what I’ve just said. Her Uncle Ghost picks her up and puts her on his hip, as he holds his hand out for her friend, who looks at Ghost with wide eyes as she slowly and unsurely grabs his hand and lets him help her up, she quietly and obediently allows him to lead her out the door.

Turnin’ around to see what kind of damage was done while I was concentratin’ on my little girl, I see my guys have not only Cardozo, but another man and woman who I’m assumin’ are Bristol’s parents. Keepin’ my eyes on Cardozo, I go and get in his face.

“You piece of shit; guess you weren’t expectin’ us to breach your poor as shit security team, huh? Well, let me tell you something. When a father actually gives a fuck about his kid, he lets nothing get in his way of keeping him or her safe. Seein’ as you don’t give a fuck about anything outside of yourself, and your money and power, I’m guessin’ you know nothin’ about a father’s love for his kid or a biker’s love for his brothers. So let me educate you. One, you don’t ever breach a man’s home and steal from underneath him. Two, you especially don’t go into a biker’s home and hurt him and take his niece from him and leave him on the floor unconscious. These two occurrences alone warrant blood to be drawn. Let me tell you where you r
eally fucked up, mother fucker!’

‘You murdered our President, our friend, our brother, and to most of us, the only father figures we’ve ever known or had. And, it’s a damn shame your still standin’ here in front of me breathin’ good air in your lungs when the better man out of the two of ya is in his final restin’ place. Now, this last sin you committed against my club and my brothers warrants you to be tortured before you meet the Reaper.”

A woman’s scream captures my attention from the education I’m layin down. She’s holdin’ onto the other man’s arm and is starin’ at us with such hatred and contempt I want to slap the bitch. Who the fuck does she think she is? Fuckin’ cunt. Cunt is a word I don’t use lightly, I respect women, but seriously, this lady is giving the word its definition alone with her attitude and hatred towards us.

“Bitch, what’s your malfunction?” Kid screams in her face.

“Fuck you, punk!’ she screams in Kids face, ‘you know nothing about your precious past President!” Emphasizing past may be her biggest mistake she’s made yet.

“You wanna explain that statement, bitch!’ Kid screams, ‘you don’t know shit about my Pa, keep your mouth closed or I’ll make sure it’s permanently closed for you.”

“Nephew, you know nothing about your Pa!” The bitch squeals at Kid.

  Chapter 33

  ~Tic

Travler pops up with the question layin on all of our minds.

“Did you just call him Nephew? You best explain that quick like.”

The man squeezes his woman’s arm and says “You best tell them, Whitney. You helped with this, you best explain it.” He gives her a stern expression lettin’ her know he won’t be takin’ all of this on his own shoulders.

“Fine,’ she huffs, ‘your Pa and I have the same biological parents.’ She emphasizes Pa loudly and snottily, makin’ me want to put this bitch to ground myself and we don’t touch women as a rule, on most occasions. I’m thinkin’ this one is givin us reason to second guess that promise.

She continues, “He decided he was too important to stay home and make sure my six-year-old self didn’t have to take all the abuse by myself. He didn’t care what our father did to me, as long as he was free from that abusive asshole himself. So what about the little sister he left home to take the brunt of the anger, beatings, and rape by myself! You have no idea what that monster did to me once he left. He left me there alone! I hated him and vowed he would pay with his life for ruining mine!”

“Bullshit,’ Kid screams ‘my Pa would’ve never left an innocent little girl to fend for herself against an abuser like that! You’re a lying piece of shit to spit those lies out of your mouth! I hope you choke on your absurd lies!”

Kid losing his temper slams his fist into the wall. He charges the woman finally snappin’, causin’ Wasp to jump in and hold him back.

“Hold the fuck on a second, Kid’ Wasp says causin’ us all to freeze and look at him with anticipation into what he’s gonna say next. ‘Your Pa did have a sister named Whitney, but she passed away a year after he left. He, Sniper and Jed went back for her once they were established and had the funds to take care of her. For a year they stole, scraped, and savaged to make sure they’d be able to get her and hide her out till they knew she’d be safe.’

‘Once they made it to get her, her father laughed in King’s face and told him his sister was gone. He took so much pleasure in explainin’ exactly what he’d done to her that King believed him and Jed took him out a few days later. There’s no way this is his sister, she’s dead. So who the fuck are you, Lady?”

“I’m his sister! You dumb fuck! Haven’t you been listening to me or are you just that stupid?”

Her old man lost it and slapped her across her face. “Shut your mouth, Whitney!’ he screams ‘We’re in enough shit here, thanks to you and Cardozo’s need for revenge.”

Travler screams at the husband, “You dirty fucker, don’t hit her again. You do and you’ll understand the meaning of crossin’ a shit creek without a paddle. You’re a dumb fuck. Shit, what kind of man hits a woman in front of a bunch of other men. You’re a coward! That’s what the fuck you are, women are too delicate to take a man’s hands or fist. You, on the other hand.” He says as he lays the man out. Out cold.

“Sorry, couldn’t help myself,” Travler says, not meanin’ a word of it and we all know it. He and Tumbler grew up in a home where their father beat their mom for small menial reasons. He was a woman beater and the brothers to this day will lay a man out for touchin’ a woman whether they know ‘em or not.

Tumbler gives his brother a thumbs up in approval. If Travler hadn’t gotten to him first, sure enough, his twin would’ve taken care of the issue himself.

  Chapter 34

  ~Kid

I can’t do it, if this stupid bitch really is my Pa’s sister, mine and Skylar’s Aunt, I can’t very well sit here and let her be punished with death. Pa would never forgive me if he knew his sister was truly alive and I allowed her to be murdered. I need time to do some research into her story and figure out what the true situation is.

  “Guys…”

“You ain’t gotta say shit Kid, we know. We would never put King’s sister to ground. Whether she deserves it or not for havin’ her brother murdered herself,” Wasp says.

We’ll meet about her fate and punishment later in our meetin’. For now, though the men deserve their fate. Kid, why don’t you and Travler take the lady back to the clubhouse and make her comfortable. We’ll handle the men, have Ghost go ahead and take the others back as well. Fuck, Kid, I just had a thought, this means the girl out there is your cousin. She’s family, make sure she’s treated as such and get Ghost to get her story for us.”

“Sure, thanks. Make him suffer for me, get a few really good painful shots in Tumbler, Ryder. Do me justice, guys. See ya’ll later when we meet and fill each other in.”

I grab my supposed Aunt’s arm and guide her outside. Not caring if I’m treatin’ her with kid gloves or not, she didn’t think twice before gettin’ into bed with Cardozo and havin’ her own brother taken out. Damn, Skylar’s gonna flip her shit.

  Chapter 35

  ~Kori

We just got a call from Ghost asking us to meet him and Kid at the clubhouse. Without another word we grabbed our stuff and rushed out the door. Levi jumping on his bike to follow us, shadowing us, protecting us. Damn, I hope this is good news and not bad news. We need the good news right now, not sure how much more bad any of us can handle. Every single one of us is walking a fine line of our breaking point.

None of us said a word in anticipation of what would go down once we made it to the clubhouse. We were only there for a few minutes when the rumble of a couple motorcycles made it to us. I rush outside and see my daughter in the arms of another woman. She’s sitting in between Ghost and the mystery girl. Seriously, what the hell is going on?

My attention turns to Kid momentarily as he hauls an older lady toward the clubhouse. Riley tries to go to him, but is pushed aside when Kid yells out “Not now Riley, I’ll fill you all in later when the brothers and I’ve had a meetin’. Till then I’ve gotta get her put up and I’m comin’ back to hold you in my arms.”

Ignoring the other’s confusion, I run towards Ghost’s bike and he dismounts and picks up my little girl handing her off to me. I grab her checking her over, smelling her sweet smell and holding her to me as tight as I can to make sure no one else can attempt to take her away from me.

I look at Ghost as he watches me holding the girl’s hand like a lifeline. Hmmm…wonder what this is all about. He smiles at me in relief and happiness that our girl’s home in my arms. Out of all the men, Ghost is the last one to let any emotions play out over his face so seeing this smile aimed at my little girl makes one appear on my face in return. He comes over and kisses me on the forehead and then kisses Lila on her head.

“Good to finally have you both home where you belong. No more worryin’ about your father. Your safe
now, Kori.”

I let out a relieved breath I wasn’t aware I was holding and feeling years’ worth of tension leaving my body. “Thank you,” I whisper.

“No problem Darlin’, I need to get Bristol settled, don’t ask. Once I know more and inform the brothers, I promise you ladies will be in the loop, then.”

Works for me, I give him a nod letting him know I understand him and walk toward the clubhouse to sit down and hold my baby close to my heart.

  Chapter 36

  ~Tic

Stoppin’ at Kid’s place with Tumbler we wash the blood off of us. This type of occasion is why I carry spare clothes in my saddle bags. I’m not only an enforcer for the club, I’m also an enforcer for the town. I’m happy to do it, be there for the little man who can’t protect himself from the bigger fish that need to be fried who bully our townsfolk.

We all take turns takin’ quick showers and once everyone’s finished we meet in the livin’ room. We need to discuss new events happenin’ with the club. Kid and Ghost can be updated later. We wait patiently for Wasp to get off the phone receivin’ an update from Carson on Justice’s condition. By the look on his face, I’m worried the prognosis isn’t good.

Wasp gets off the phone and starts us off tellin’ us what he’s learned.

Wasp: “Not good brothers, Justice is in critical condition, his kidney was punctured by the bullet. He’s got internal bleedin’ they think they fixed. It’s all up in the air at the moment. He’s still in surgery, we need to make sure once we get with our women we get over to the hospital and stand vigil by Justice’s side as he fights this battle for himself. Before we get into tonight, which personally I’d rather wait on till we’ve all had a chance to get the story in full, we need to decide the future of our club. Sniper’s not good guys, he’s not comin’ back from this shit, which leaves us without our Prez and our VP. What’s everyone’s thoughts? Are we ready to vote?”
