“Yes, of course. I’m sure I have some of those in the house. I don’t usually need them. We don’t get tired that easily.”

“Good for you. Humans are a bit more fragile, believe me,” she warned him in a teasing tone.

  “I’ll bear that in mind.”

After they were done showering, she put on a pair of jeans and a sweater. Though the temperature inside the house was pleasant, Kahm had warned her temperatures were quite low after the sun went down below the horizon.

When she was finished, she met him in the kitchen, where he handed her a glass with a dark brown drink. “This should raise your energy levels.”

“Thank you, I sure needed.” She took a cautious sip of the beverage, not sure what to expect, but it actually tasted great. She drank it all, and she immediately felt as if she had taken a gallon of the best Colombian coffee on Earth. “Wow, this is powerful.”

“Are you feeling any better?” he asked, smiling.

“Yes, I’m ready to party all night,” she assured him, with a bright smile.

He laughed and guided her out of the house. His men’s refectory was near their quarters, so they used the vehicle to get there. As he had warned her, the breeze blowing was quite cold, and for the first time, she wished she was wearing one of the jumpsuits he wore. He didn’t seem affected by the cold.

Kahm’s men were waiting for them at the refectory when they arrived. He introduced her to all of them, and she was amazed to find out they were all from different planets. It was an extraordinary group, but they seemed to get along well, and they welcomed her to the group with smiles and congratulations on their marriage.

The refectory’s kitchen was run by two male androids, and after introductions, the food was served.

Like Kahm had told her, the men used the meal to discuss whatever problems they had had during the day and though she had no idea what they were talking about, she enjoyed the way her husband managed the situation. Men showed a lot of respect for him and that told her a lot about the man she was married to.

After dinner, they lingered a bit longer, chatting about other things. They even asked Selena a bit about her home planet and how different it was from Sumirion. It was a pleasant night, but at the same time, she felt her energy was running out. It had been a very long day, and all she wanted was to get in bed.

Kahm seemed to notice the change in her because he quickly ended the meeting. “It was a long day for my wife, she’s still getting used to this planet.”

The men mumbled some courtesies, and they headed back to the house.

Kahm carried her to the bedroom. Apparently, the effect of the energy beverage was very short on her. She fell asleep the minute he put her to bed.

  Chapter Ten

By the time Selena woke up the following morning, she was alone in bed, and the sun was high in the sky. She had been more tired than she had realized. But fortunately, she woke up feeling fully recovered.

Jumping out of bed, she headed straight to the bathroom, for a quick shower, before she went looking for Ysha and something to eat. She had no idea what time it was or if she was going to see Kahm before dinner time. They hadn't discussed his routine or what he expected of her.

“Good morning, Ysha. What time is it?” she asked the android when she found her in the kitchen.

“Good morning, Víf Selena. It’s almost midday. Would you like to have something to eat right now, or would you like to wait until next meal?”

“How long would I have to wait for the next meal?” her stomach was roaring.

“It will be ready in a few minutes. Sínn Kahm asked me to let you know he would be joining you for the meal.”

“I’ll wait, then. Is there some fruit I could have while I wait?” she asked, looking at the fruit trees in the backyard.

“Yes, of course.” She opened the refrigerator and took a large tray with different fruits in it. “Some of these are sweet, others a bit acid and this one, is a mix of both,” she explained, indicating the fruits on the tray.

Selena picked a sweet one. “Do I have to peel it?” she asked, looking at the purple fruit. It seemed a bit like a small eggplant.

“No, unless you want to,” Ysha replied, smiling.

“Thank you,” she said, as she walked to the backyard to enjoy her fruit while she waited for lunch.

The sun was shining in the sky, and again there were no clouds in sight. She wondered about it, as she took the first bite of her fruit.

It tasted like nothing she had eaten before, but it was sweet and refreshing, and she loved it. She was finishing it when Kahm approached the house in his vehicle.

He spotted her the moment he hopped out of the vehicle and headed towards her. “Good morning, sleepy head. Did you get some rest?” he asked, teasing her.

She chuckled. “Yes, I can honestly say I did. I only got up a few minutes ago. I was drained.”

“I’m sure things are a bit different here, so it should take you some time to get used to it.”

  “Yes, you’re probably right.”

He leaned over and kissed her, tasting the sweetness of the fruit on her lips. “I can see you have been trying our fruits,” he said, murmuring the words against her full lips.

“Yes, it’s quite delicious,” she agreed, with a smile.

“Not as much as you are,” he assured her, as he kissed her again.

Ysha’s voice broke them apart. Food was ready.

“Would you like me to take you to see the animals we raise here after we eat?” he suggested, as he had promised the day before.

  “Yes, I would love to.”

“Your new jumpsuits arrived this morning, so you might want to change into one of them before we leave. You’ll find them a lot more comfortable,” he informed her.

  “Sure.”

They ate while talking about his morning at work and once more she thought she would need to find something to fill her days with. She hadn't been raised to stay all day with her arms crossed doing nothing. But after his reaction to her suggestion of working in a hospital, she would have to find something to do right there at the farm.

She still didn’t know what, but there had to be something.

After they were done, she went back to their bedroom and changed into the jumpsuits she found neatly folded in her closet. She picked a red one, and after combing her long hair into a French braid, she joined Kahm in the backyard.

The jumpsuit fitted her like a second skin, and she had to admit she liked the way it felt against her skin.

“You look great. Do you like it?” he said when she joined him.

“Yes, I do, they are a lot more comfortable than they look.”

“They’ll keep your body temperature constant, and that’s a great help in a place like this, where you usually go from a scorching day, into a freezing night.”

“Yes, I can imagine that it will be quite helpful.”

He helped her get to the vehicle, and soon they were on their way. Other than a few scattered fruit trees, the farm was covered with green fields of grass. She guessed it was the grass that fed his animals and he confirmed it when questioned. They rotated the animals from pasture to pasture to give the fields time to replenish with the hay the animals fed on.

“We also stock it for winter, when it’s impossible to have the animals out in the open,” he explained.

“Aren’t they indigenous of this planet?” she asked, intrigued.

“Some of them, yes, but not the rest. They come from warmer planets, and Sumirion’s winter is too harsh for them.”

“Is it still profitable to raise them here? Having to feed them and keep them warm during winter?” she asked. She knew a bit about farming. Her parents had owned one until the wars started and though she had only been twelve years old then, she remembered well what it was like; life on a farm.

“Yes, it is. The species I raise here are almost extinct on their planets. Cities have taken the place of farms, and that’s why we
’re the main providers of food for the planets around us,” he explained.

They finally arrived at the fields, and she was surprised to see the number of animals grazing the area. They were huge, beasts and those they were seeing were of just one species. They looked like some sort of massive, hairy cows. They even had horns, but instead of two, these animals had three.

“These, for instance, are natives of this planet. Though most can take the rough winter, they tend to lose weight, due to the scarcity of food, so we take them in as well.”

“How many of those do you have?” she asked, amazed. She wasn’t able to see the end of them.

“Around one hundred thousand beasts of each species.”

  “That’s a lot.”

“We have a big farm,” he replied, with an amused smile.

“What do you do with their wool?” she asked, looking at the pristine white wool of the enormous animals.

“We remove it before we take them out, after the winter. It grows really fast, and the wool is used to craft all sorts of things, including the clothes we’re wearing,” he explained.

“That’s awesome. Could you get me some of that? I would like to entertain myself with it,” she asked, remembering the smooth blankets her mother had taught her to knit and how they would look great over the plain sofas on the living room and even on the beds.

“Certainly, you can have all you want, but I’ll get you some from the factory that turns it into threads for us,” he explained. “You can choose whatever you like.”

From there, he took her to see the other animals. Some were similar to the pigs they had back on Earth, though a lot bigger and the other ones were more like the goats she had seen in the mountains of her country.

“You must need a lot of androids to help you with all these,” she said, amazed at the size of his farm.

“Yes, some, but not that many. Most of the processes are automated, and that makes things a lot easier,” he explained. “I’ll show you one of these days where we keep them during winter time.”

They returned to the house just in time to shower before they headed to the refectory to have dinner.

The following couple of weeks were a bit more of the same. Kahm made time to show her the whole property and to make sure she was happy.

With the arrival of the wool she had selected from the factory’s catalog, she spent some time knitting while he was busy with his farm work. One day, he woke her up with the news he wanted to take her to the beach.

“I thought we were too far from the ocean,” she said, surprised.

He shook his head. “Actually, no, we’re quite close. One of the farms’ borders is the ocean, but since you can’t bathe in it, there’s no sense in going to the beach, but I thought you might enjoy the ride,” he explained.

“Oh, yes, I would love to. Why can’t you swim in it?” Selena asked, jumping out of bed.

“There are too many dangerous animals in the water. They would devour you in a split second.”

  “Oh, no, thank you.”

“Yes, my feelings exactly. There are some lakes where you can swim with no problem. I’ll take you there one day,” he promised.

“That would be nice.” She put on a navy blue jumpsuit, tying her hair in a ponytail. “This would be an excellent opportunity for you to teach me how to drive the vehicle,” she suggested, with a smile.

“Why would you want to drive it?”

“I might need it, in case of an emergency,” she said, crossing her fingers. She needed more freedom. Being able to drive around the farm or even going to the nearest town would make her feel much better.

“I guess you have a point there, and this is a good opportunity. The road to the beach is good, and we won’t find other people on it. I’ve left that part of the farm untouched. I don’t need the space, and it’s nice having a small forest at the back of your farm,” he explained.

  “It sounds great, thank you.”

“I’ve asked Ysha to prepare some food for us to take. There’s a small creek near the beach with a waterfall. We can bathe there, though the water is a bit cold,” he informed her.

“It’s a hot day. I’m sure it will be great taking a cold bath,” she said, excited, as she picked up a clean jumpsuit and a towel and putting it in a bag along with some clothes for Kahm.

They left the house a few minutes later with Selena behind the vehicle’s controls. It was a lot easier to drive than any car she had driven back on Earth, and soon she was driving it as if she had done it all her life.

After a few minutes, they reached the forest Kahm had mentioned before. The giant trees were a bit overwhelming, but there was a sense of peace and quietness she immediately appreciated.

“Are there any wild animals in these woods?” she asked, as she drove by it.

“Yes, some small rodents and several birds, but no dangerous animals. They would attack my animals, and I can’t allow that. From time to time, we search the woods, just in case,” he explained.

  “It makes sense,” she agreed.

They reached the beach a few minutes later. The sand was brownish, but the water was as blue as the sky and looking at it, it was hard not wanting to jump into it.

“It’s amazing,” she said, sighing. “What’s that over there?” she asked signaling a mountain across the ocean. It looked closer than she expected.

“That’s Sumitera. This is the closest point between the two continents. The natives rarely show their faces around here, but it has happened.”

  “Why have they come here?”

“Looking for food. They usually come during the hardest winters. I wouldn’t mind sharing my food with them, but they don’t ask, they steal, and I’m afraid I don’t condone that.”

  “What do you do?”

“I kicked them off my property. They weren’t very pleased, and some tried to threaten me,” Kahm explained. “I told them I wasn’t willing to have my property robbed whenever they decided they wanted food. If they wanted help, they would have to ask for it.”

  “Did it work?”

“Yes, most of the time. They ask for help when things get rough, but some think it’s easier to steal rather than ask,” there was scorn in Kahm’s tone, and she understood the way he felt.

She had lived through similar situations at the hospital when people tried to steal the medicines instead of asking for them.

After they walked along the beach for a while, he took her to the small creek. The place was amazing. The water was cold, but not enough as to prevent them from bathing in it.

Kahm rapidly took off all his clothes and entered the small pool formed by the waterfall.

“What if someone comes?” she asked, feeling a bit unsure.

“No one will come,” he assured her with a naughty grin on his face.

His golden skin shone under the sunlight, enhanced by the million drops of water rolling down his perfect body.

Taking a deep breath, she followed his lead, and soon she was also naked, walking towards the water. The kiss of the sun on her naked skin felt great. She hadn't been on a beach or pool in a long time, and she had missed it more than she realized.

He pulled her into the water, and she let out a small cry when the cold water covered her body up to her breasts.

“You’ll get used to it,” he assured her, as he guided her to the waterfall.

Bathing underneath it was breathtaking, but it was also quite invigorating. After a few seconds, he pulled her out of the water and against his hard body, allowing her to feel his need for her.

“Doesn’t the cold water affect your desire?” she asked, teasing him.

“Yes, it makes it stronger,” he assured her, grinning before he captured her lips with a breathtaking kiss.

With no barriers between them, the fire spread between them and in no time, he had her with her legs wrapped around his waist, riding his hard cock, on their path to ecstasy. Soon, they were both shuddering and heaving under the effect
of the intense waves of pleasure that washed over them.

They stayed in each other’s arms for a few moments, waiting for the waves to subside, before Kahm carried her out of the water and gently laid her on the towel she had laid out on the sand.

Once there, he started kissing and caressing her whole body, his passion still burning wildly inside him. He never seemed to be satisfied. In fact, his need for her grew every time he was with her.

He took her to heaven a few more times, with his fingers and lips, covering her whole body, leaving no part untouched, before he took her again, thrusting himself deep inside her, loving the way her body always welcomed him. Pushing her legs up, he went deeper and faster inside her, feeling as her walls clenched hard around him and her hips rocked to meet each and every one of her thrusts.

He struggled to make it last as long as possible, but soon the passion was too fierce and the need for release, even more. With a loud grunt, he poured himself inside her, shuddering as the waves of pleasure rushed through them, as he dragged her along with him, to nirvana.

“I never get enough of you, do you know that?” he whispered in her ear, as he let himself fall next to her.

“I’m glad because I feel the same way,” she confessed, with her eyes shut, rapture written all over her face.

They spent the rest of the day there, making love, eating and enjoying the place. It was a perfect day.

Or at least, it had been until they returned home. Kahm had a visitor waiting for him. A visitor that would disturb their life together, probably even ruin it forever.

  Chapter Eleven

The minute they entered the house, a female warrior walked out of the living room. By the looks of her, she was Arghearian, like Kahm. The woman was almost as tall as him, with the same muscled body, golden skin, golden and hair and even the same black horns, though hers were a lot smaller than Kahm’s.

“Kahm, I can’t believe it’s really you…” the female said, rushing to meet him and hugging him.

Selena looked at him, noticing the shock on his face. He didn’t seem very happy.

“Moyana... what are you doing here? How did you find me?” he asked coldly, forcing her to take a step back.
