About 2:00 p.m., Stu walked through the door with a big smile on his face. “Good afternoon, ladies. How was the lunch crowd today?”
“It was busy, but nothing we can’t handle. Is everything okay?”
Stu just waved an arm, dismissing the concern. “Just a routine check and all-in-all I’m good. I’m not getting any younger, so there are things doc had me change, no biggie.”
“If it were something important, I would hope you would let us know.”
Stu just shook his head. “Well, if anything changes I will let you know. Deal?”
“Deal!”
Alex took off his apron, grabbed Alyssa’s hand, and started for the door. “Hey Stu, everything is prepped and set to go for dinner rush.” Looking at both Anna and Stu, he said, “Have a great weekend. Our phones may be off, so contact Jax or Georgie.”
Alyssa was laughing as she was being tugged toward the door. “Their numbers are on my desk with all the other numbers and on the computer.” She went to say something else, but the door closed before she could get it out.
Alex leaned forward and scooped her into his arms. “I’m so excited to have you all to myself for two days. What should we do first?”
Alyssa had sex written all over her face. “Hmmmm… what should we do? I wonder how comfortable your truck is?” Her look turned heated. “Whatever we do, we should do it soon.” She winked and licked her lips.
“Baby, you tell me where to park this truck, and I’m all yours,” he said, then let her down to opened the driver side door. Alyssa climbed in and stayed close to Alex. When he sat down next to her, she reached over and moved her hand on his thigh. She was so close to his erection, he jumped a little. “Is there a place to park this truck, so we are not seen in the light of day?”
She rubbed her hand over his erection through his jeans. “I thought you were going to get chef pants?” she asked, then leaned up and nibbled on his earlobe. “Park this bad boy in my driveway and let’s get adventurous.” She went to the top button of his shirt. “And drive a little faster today. Unless, you want an incident like what happened in the movie, “Parenthood?”
He laughed. “Hmmmm… interesting idea.”
As Alyssa unbuttoned each button, she leaned in and kissed his soft skin. “Whatever you need Mr. Winters.”
Alex shook his head. “Let’s avoid a ticket but I’ll drive a bit faster. You try to contain yourself for a few more minutes.”
Alyssa looked up into his piercing green eyes. “Hurry.” Then she placed his finger in her mouth and bit down, while moving her tongue around the tip. She took his finger out of her mouth. “I need you.”
A few minutes later, Alex parked the truck closer to the back of her property. There were several trees surrounding them, providing a good amount of privacy. “So, you want to know how comfortable this truck is, right?” he asked, then moved the steering wheel up, turned toward her, and pushed her back on the seat. He looked into her eyes, moved a strand of hair behind her ear, and then traced a finger along her jaw line. He placed his finger inside her mouth, she nipped and sucked. He repositioned his body so he was nestled in between her legs. He had his hands resting on the seat on either side of her head. “You are so beautiful.” He bent down and kissed her lips. He nipped on her bottom lip and her hips undulated toward him.
Breathless, she whispered, “Alex.”
“What, baby? Tell me what you need?”
She fisted her hands in his hair and pulled him down to kiss him deeper. Exploring every inch of his delicious mouth. She couldn’t get enough of his taste and loved how soft his lips felt next to hers. Pulling back. “We have all weekend to play. Will you be inside me, now, I need you?”
Alex had a sexy grin. “I need you, too, baby.” He pulled her shirt over her head. Then he moved his hands up her abdomen, over her rib cage, and in one swift motion had her bra off. He cupped both breasts in his palms and squeezed. Then played with her nipples, pinching them, and moved his hands down her rib cage towards the top button of her jeans. “Why don’t you wear chef pants, it would be easy access?” He laughed and continued to undo her jeans and slide them down her gorgeous curves. He moved his body back, then bent to take one taut nipple in his mouth. He nipped and sucked, then moved to the other nipple. Looking up into her eyes, he could see she was almost over the edge. He grinned and made a trail of kisses down her abdomen. Looking back up toward Alyssa, she was gone, her eyes were black with desire. He removed her panties and bent to place delicate kisses on her inner thighs. He then parted her legs and bent to move his tongue up her heated flesh. She bucked into him and moaned from the pleasure. He placed a finger inside of her and moved back and forth. He nipped, sucked, and inhaled her delicious scent. A few minutes later he watched as Alyssa bucked up, and with loud moan was taken over the cliff of desire. She was still in a haze as he continued to move his tongue up and down her.
She was coming around. “You’re amazing, Alex Winters. Please don’t stop, not yet.”
He did what she asked and continued to taste and tease every inch of her. It only took a few more minutes, and he had her over the edge once again. A few minutes later, Alyssa dug her nails into his back. Her breath sounded ragged and uneven. At about the same moment she was being taken over the edge for the third time. Alex could join in this time and feel the amazing pleasure with her. This time together they were making love. He was hunched over her breathing fast and not willing to move out of her yet.
He leaned up on his elbows. “You’re the only one I want to be with in my life. You have made me so happy, Alyssa Benson. What would you say, if I said, I want you to be my wife?”
Alyssa loved the feeling of him inside her. When he asked about marriage, she thought she would feel scared. Instead she wanted to feel this happiness forever, and only with him. “I love you so much, Alex. Being your wife would bring back the happiness in my life. I want to be your wife more than anything in the world. Are you sure you want to take on the responsibility of a kid already?”
He moved just a quarter of an inch and she moaned. They both laughed because he was already getting hard again. “I blame you. You are too damn amazing. And yes, I want it all, you, Lexie, the café, your past, everything.”
She smiled and moved her hips. “You have me then, baby.”
“Two days alone and yet I still miss those cute morning giggles,” Alyssa said, snuggled on her bed, her back resting against the wall. She was holding her mug of coffee in both hands. “There is something wonderful about being a parent. I think Lexie makes it a thousand times better than I ever imagined.”
Alex was lying down with his head resting on Alyssa’s legs. “She has such a beautiful spirit and I love how she always finds happiness in everything she does. Was Derek that way, too?” He bent his head up to see Alyssa and what her answer would be.
She smiled down at him. “Derek was like chocolate. He was too good, always delicious, and you could never get enough. Lexie shares many of his traits and
I look forward to finding more as she ages.” She loved talking to Alex, she found he had the kindness that Derek exuded. She started absent-mindedly combing through his hair with her fingers.
A ringing startled both of them, Alex looked at her nightstand. “Want me to grab it for you?” He sat up and reached for the phone as it rang once more. “Hello?”
“Hi, Alex! Aunt Jax said to call and see if you were making pancakes this morning?”
Alex laughed and looked over at Alyssa. “Pancakes, huh? Your Mom was just asking for some, too. You all better hurry over or she might eat them all.” A few moments later he hung up the phone and grabbed for Alyssa.
“I may eat them all. What?” Alex started to tickle her. “You better behave, they will be here any minute.”
He bent his head and moaned. Then he looked up in her melting caramel eyes. “The last few days have helped me to see, I only want two women in my life.”
“Two women?”
“You and Lexie. I don’t want anyone else, only you Alyssa. Let’s surprise everyone and get married in Wilmington? Just our family and no one else.”
She reached for his hand. “I love that idea. Lexie would be so happy to have you here with us always.”
They both kissed and then the kisses turned deeper and more passionate. They heard giggles and laughed. Resting their foreheads against each other, Alex smiled, “I need you, too, Alyssa.”
The door to their room was pushed open. “Momma, Alex!” Then cute little Lexie hopped up onto the bed and leaped into their arms. “Missed you.”
“We missed you, too!”
Alex was wearing a pair of striped pajama pants, Alyssa had the matching long sleeve striped shirt. Lexie was standing in between both of them at the kitchen counter. Georgie and Jax knocked and then let themselves into the little house. When they walked into the kitchen, they both laughed. Alex, Alyssa, and Alexandra were dancing and preparing pancakes. It was a sight to see. Jax cleared her throat. “Good morning.” They all three turned toward the kitchen doorway, holding a spoon and sang to them.
Georgie looked at Jax. “Can’t beat’em, might as well join’em, right?” She walked over and sang with all three of them.
Jax walked over to the barstool and sat down. Alex headed over to the island and stood opposite Jax. “Thanks for taking Lexie this weekend.”
Georgie was in fits of giggles. “Oh my God, I love spending time with you all so much. Especially special time with Lexie. She talked us into making a killer living room fort.”
Alyssa reached down and picked up Lexie. “She makes an awesome living room fort.” She then beeped her daughter’s nose. “So, I need to go do special shopping today. Jax and Georgie, you both free today?”
“Can I come, too, Momma?”
Alyssa nuzzled Lexie’s neck. “You, cutie, will spend the day at the cafe. Anna loves when you help her bake and she needs help today.”
Lexie clapped her hands together. “Oh yay!”
Alex was just finishing making the pancakes. “Who’s hungry?” They all said, “Yes,” all at once.
After they finished eating, Alex asked Lexie, “You ready to go to work?”
Lexie hopped down from the barstool. “Yup, all ready.”
Alex headed to their bedroom to change. He walked up front, threw on his coat, and reached down to scoop Lexie into his arms. He then leaned over to Alyssa. “We will see you soon. I love you so much.”
Lexie leaned in kissed Alyssa’s cheek. “Love you lots, Momma.”
Alyssa watched them leave with this grin plastered on her face. Jax and Georgie both started to laugh. Georgie put her arm around Alyssa. “So, you had a good weekend alone I take it?”
“Good doesn’t even describe it.” She pushed at Georgie’s shoulder. “You wait you two, you will see what I mean soon enough.”
Jax laughed. “I’m too busy trying to find a job to even think about love.”
“Same here. I have too much going on. Plus, all I care about is spending every moment I can with you, Alex, and Lexie.”
Alyssa smiled. “I missed you both so much. Thank you for coming here and thank you for not leaving. I don’t want you to leave for awhile. I’m not ready yet. I think I need you with me for a little while longer.”
Georgie laughed. “Good thing, because since I am getting a job here, we will be here for a bit.”
Alyssa leaned in and hugged them both. “Perfect.” She leaned back, and asked, “Who’s ready to go Christmas shopping for a special five-year-old?” She looked at Jax. “Oh, and how is “Project Alex” going?”
“Perfect. I have a few things you need to fill out. The lawyer wants to meet next week to discuss some things.”
Alyssa squealed with delight. “This Christmas will be amazing… No… Epic!”
They were standing in the aisle at a toy store in the doll section. Alyssa was holding two different dolls. “Seriously, how many dolls are there and how do you choose?”
Jax looked at each doll in Alyssa’s hands. “My issue is the clothes. Now you need to buy a shitload of clothes for any doll you choose.”
Georgie walked closer to them. “Okay, let’s do an eenie-meanie-miney-moe. Otherwise, we could be here all night, and only buy her one gift. That would be a huge fail, especially since I plan to buy ten gifts for her… or more.”
Alyssa laughed. “She will have gifts coming out her ears. I have a feeling Alex’s family will go crazy, too.”
Georgie smiled. “Especially Joshua, he loves that kid like no other. They’re adorable together.”
Jax laughed. “I thought you had a thing for, Grant?”
Alyssa looked shocked. “What, now you have a thing for both of them?”
“Really? I think Joshua is very nice but Grant makes my heart rate work overtime.”
Jax and Alyssa both looked at each other. Jax admitted, “I caught him looking your way a few times.”
Georgie pushed her. “Shut up, really?”
“You would’ve had to been blind to not see the looks between you two,” Alyssa teased. “He is a dedicated police officer and has shared that his job comes first. So, just be patient with him, okay?”
Georgie smiled. “I’m not in a position to have a man right now. First, get my family back together, then think about relationships.”
“Yup, family first, then playtime,” Jax agreed.
Alyssa shook her head. “You two. I love you both so much. Now, seriously, which freaking doll do I choose for my daughter?”
After several hours of shopping, they stopped and grabbed a glass of wine at a local bar. Alyssa’s car was full of bags and boxes. Her daughter would be excited and overwhelmed. The bar was not busy since it was a Monday. They grabbed a table in the back by the window and each ordered a glass of red wine.
Alyssa had a look on her face like she was hiding something. Georgie and Jax both looked at each other. Jax asked, “You have something to share. We can see it written all over your face.”
Georgie took a sip of her wine. “Spill, sis.”
Alyssa laughed. “I was always horrible at keeping any secrets. This one is huge.”
Georgie squealed. “Oh my God, he asked you to marry him, didn’t he?”
“He did, didn’t he?”
“Dammit. Okay fine, yes.” She took a big sip of her wine, and said, “Maybe now you can help me find a dress for the occasion?”
Jax looked confused. “Ummm… is this happening soon?”
“In between Christmas and New Year’s in Wilmington. We want family there and it will be on the beach in front of Drew and Isabel’s home. I guess they live right on the beach which sounds amazing.”
Georgie smiled. “Holy shit, this holiday season is going down in the history books for sure. You know I am all over finding you the perfect dress. I will look for a nice shirt and tie for Alex.”
“You don’t mind helping us out?” Alyssa asked. “I mean, between the cafe, a new man, new family, and planning a two-w
eek vacation, I kinda feel overwhelmed.”
“We have “Project Alex” duty, which is so perfect now, and we will get the wedding fun happening,” Jax said, reaching for Georgie and Alyssa’s hands and squeezing lightly.
Chapter 14
After two long weeks of planning for Christmas and all the festivities. The vacation fun was here, and they had a lot to pack. Since Alex had a crew cab dually pickup truck, they packed the bed so full the cap almost wouldn’t close. Jax and Georgie sat in the back seat with Lexie and her car seat. The trip to Michigan would take three days and the trip to Wilmington would take a day. They planned to spend a couple days in Michigan and the rest of the time down in North Carolina. Jax and Georgie had already talked to their parents about the trip. They even convinced them to go to North Carolina for Christmas. Only Alex, Alyssa, Jax, and Georgie were in on the wedding planning. The family was in for a serious surprise.
Alyssa was standing by the cash register at the cafe. “You sure you’re okay with me leaving?”
Stu sighed. “Sweetie, we will be fine and we will be closed on Christmas and Christmas Eve. You hired a couple fresh faces to help, and Anna’s son agreed to help some, too. We got this. Now have an amazing time, you deserve it.”
Anna walked over and hugged Alyssa. “We have this for sure, we promise.”
Alyssa stepped back and smiled. “I don’t know what I would do without you both. You have been my family and my rock for two years. Thank you. I love you both so much.”
Stu just waved his hand, dismissing the love. “Oh stop, or you will cry, then Anna will cry, and you will make the customers cry. Now go, have fun, and please drive safe.”
