Fully sated now, he collapsed on top of her.
“I don’t know how it could have been, but I think that was even better.”
Naylaa smiled, too tired to laugh.
His weight was pleasurable for long moments, until her ribs began to ache. He was too heavy.
“I can’t breathe,” she gasped, arching her back.
The man chuckled and rolled off quickly. He lay on his side next to her, his hand resting on her belly in an intimate and reassuring way.
“I’m sorry. I don’t usually squash my sex partners.”
Anger and disappointment spread across the pit of her stomach. How was her destined-to-be-mate so thoughtless? He was meant to be perfect in every way!
How could he not realize, that after what they had just shared that was a horrible thing to say?
“Excuse me?”
She didn’t want to be just one of his partners and she certainly didn’t want to know about any of his other lovers! Didn’t he realize what they were to each other?
“What’s wrong?” he asked, his handsome face relaxed, despite the question. He obviously didn’t care about her feelings.
What sort of mate had Fate sent her?
Naylaa sat up and shuffled back so that her dress once again covered her legs and her back was against the tree.
His seed seeped out between her legs and she blushed at the physical reminder of what they had just done.
“I don’t care about your other partners. You are my intended mate, and the person I am meant to be with for life. Tell me your name.”
The blue-eyed man rolled up to his feet and turned to her with a goading grin.
“My name is Gorvan, but I am no one’s mate.”
Naylaa couldn’t help but smile. She already loved the smoothness of his voice. It washed over her like warm water, nourishing and comforting. What a pity he was so arrogant.
She pushed herself up to her feet and righted her clothing while he did the same.
“Our Unicorns are mates. They have been searching for each other.” She motioned to where the Unicorns stood in the water, cuddling after their mating.
“That may be true, but Sienna and I will not be tied down to a whim like Fate. We don’t believe in the old stories about United couples having one true mate. We can have many partners and be just as happy with any of them.”
The roguish smile infuriated her. She had been waiting for her mate her whole life and now that she had found him, he didn’t believe in fate? Impossible, but so ironic.
“So, you’re not linked to your Unicorn? Sienna’s nothing to you I assume? Because if you don’t believe in Fate and true bonded mates, you can’t possibly believe the old stories about your bond with her?”
Naylaa stared him down, watching as his eyes shadowed and his body language began to close down.
She knew how much Gorvan loved his Unicorn. She had felt Sienna’s love for Gorvan through her connection with Bronte.
Gorvan had to be lying when he said he didn’t believe in Fate or the powers that had brought them to their Unicorns and to each other.
Gorvan broke their eye contact and straightened his clothes with jerky motions, then turned his back on her and walked towards the water.
“Sienna, let’s go. We have lingered long enough.”
The white Unicorn moved towards Gorvan but pawed the water and tossed her head. It was obvious she was not happy.
Naylaa couldn’t help but smile at the quandary this would put them all in. The Unicorn coupling and she and Gorvan were similar in everything, just as her mother had told her they would be. She was like the white female, small and strong. While Gorvan was like the black stallion, tall, dark and menacing.
“It is not true. Do not let them convince you of that. We only need each other.” Gorvan spoke only to Sienna, stroking the white Unicorn’s mane and staring into her eyes. His connection to her was amazing to witness, as an outsider.
Naylaa had never seen another United pair so this interaction was wonderful to watch. Gorvan clearly loved his Unicorn as much as she loved Bronte.
Bronte walked up to his female, almost a head taller and much bigger in build. His possessiveness was clear as he pressed close, not pushing Gorvan away, but it was clear he did not want to be separated from her. Bronte would not allow Gorvan to take Sienna away.
She is not leaving.
Naylaa threw up her hands as Bronte’s thoughts moved through her mind. Yes, she’d known as much.
Bronte nuzzled Sienna’s neck and offered his horn to Gorvan.
Naylaa opened her mouth to shout out a warning to Gorvan, just as he reached out to stroke Bronte’s horn.
Gorvan gasped and his body began to shudder as though a great shock went through him.
Naylaa shivered as the power in the air vibrated all around them.
Gorvan landed on the ground with a thump and a small splash as he fell partially into the water.
“He is powerful.” Gorvan said as he stared up at his Unicorn’s intended mate with an incredible look of awe in his blue eyes.
Yes, I am.
A flush of pleasure vibrated through her when Gorvan shifted his eyes back to her. There was so much more for them both to explore, how could he think of leaving them now?
“If I could be sure Sienna would be safe, we could stay for a few days.”
Naylaa knew the fear of safety with her Unicorn and respected her mate for putting Sienna’s needs first.
“Bronte has a cave in the forest, not far from here. He has lived there for almost ten world cycles without anyone finding him. I’m sure he would keep Sienna safe and they could spend more time together.”
Of course, I will protect her.
Bronte’s words and happiness surged at her suggestion. He was aroused again and unfortunately that was transferring to her as well. She moaned aloud, her pussy beginning to throb anew.
“We need to leave.” Moreover, she needed to get away from the Unicorns before she jumped on Gorvan again. “Bronte, show Sienna your home and I will take her United to my house. We will come and see you tomorrow.”
She turned to glare at the rude man in front of her―the true love she had waited her whole life for. Somehow, this just didn’t seem fair.
“I’m Naylaa, by the way.”
Gorvan rose up from the ground gingerly where Bronte had planted him and Naylaa couldn’t help but notice the bulge in his trousers.
Raising one eyebrow, she watched in fascination as he blushed and repeated her name once, rolling the sound around in his mouth in an odd way. “Naylaa.”
He adjusted himself and looked down at the water, seemingly as embarrassed as she was about the way she was responding to him. It was comforting to know that he was not yet used to the intensity of these feelings, either.
“This way.”
Turning on her heel, she led her mate―whether he believed it or not―down the hill and away from their blessed magic, their United halves.
Happiness unlike any she had ever known was within her reach. She could sense it. But it was elusive, and uncertain. If Gorvan did not believe they were meant to be together, how could she make him stay? And what would she compromise to make sure they were never parted? Because despite his reservations about “Fate” controlling them all, Naylaa had a lot of confidence in the creation that had brought her and Bronte together. And in turn, had brought Gorvan to her.
A blue eyes, in her town.
It had to be Fate. She wouldn’t believe anything else.
Chapter Five.
Gorvan followed the strange woman down the hill and into the town below. A woman he’d fucked twice already. A fact that had him dizzy with amazement.
His connection to Seinna was surging with a happiness he had never felt before. The problem was, he couldn’t determine if it was her feelings of blissful contentment, or his. There were too many sensations for him to process properly.
And for once, he wasn’t alone. He could t
alk to someone who would actually understand what it was like to be one half of a United pair.
“I can still feel Seinna. She is very happy.”
Naylaa gracefully ducked and weaved through the dense forest that surrounded her town. It was a beautiful piece of land. So much water and greenery, he had rarely seen a more perfect place.
“Yes, I know. I feel Bronte’s happiness also.” Naylaa said as she moved ahead.
Gorvan grunted in disbelief as his body surged at the sight of her bent over beneath a large tree. He’d found release twice in the last hour and he wanted her again? How was that possible?
She was talking nonsense about them being soul mates. She had to be. No such thing existed.
If he were honest, he had to admit that these two were making him question that belief. Seinna thought she had found her mate, but that had to be because she’d never seen another Unicorn before. Let alone one as beautiful and powerful as Bronte.
A smile rose on his lips and he called out to Naylaa.
“I’m still recovering from touching Bronte’s horn. I don’t know what he did to me.”
She laughed softly in reply.
The power surge he’d received from Bronte’s horn had been truly incredible. So much stronger than anything he’d ever received from Seinna.
“He was showing you how powerful he is so you’d trust him with Seinna.”
Gorvan couldn’t help the reluctant smile that stretched across his lips. He couldn’t imagine truly trusting anyone with Seinna. Leaving her hidden with Bronte was an enormous step for him. And one he was regretting.
“Are we almost there?” he called out again.
She didn’t turn to look at him, just spoke over her shoulder. “Not long now.”
He was nervous being separated from Seinna. He knew she was safe, far away and hidden with Bronte. But she was without him, and that made him worry all the more.
Seinna was the only creature who mattered to him in this world and he would do anything to protect her.
“What were you doing in town this morning?” Naylaa asked.
His conscience niggled at him as Naylaa reminded him of the decision that had got them into this mess. He should never have stopped in one place for so long.
“I was bartering gold for food when I heard the people in town whispering about a Unicorn that had come to see the Queen. I’d never seen another Unicorn other than Seinna, and I was curious.”
Gorvan stopped, not wanting to reveal that he had been curious about her as well. He had never met another United person before.
When he’d seen Bronte rear up in fear, he’d not thought before he had raced over to protect Naylaa’s United.
Gorvan shook his head, mostly at himself. He needed to ignore everything that confused him and concentrate on his own United. Although, he instinctively knew Seinna wouldn’t want to leave Bronte anytime soon.
Naylaa turned, her eyes a powerful green as she gazed at him. “I owe you for that. You probably saved Bronte from hurting any of those children.”
His gut clenched as Naylaa’s scent wafted to him on the breeze. Everything about her seemed so right, so perfect to him. But he wouldn’t be persuaded to change his path, no matter how hard his body tried to cajole him otherwise.
“It was nothing. Glad I could help.” Gorvan made his voice seem casual, but inside his mind he fought to maintain his distance.
I am the master of my own destiny. No fickle Fate is going to change my plans.
He needed rest and food. Then they would leave this town and continue their journey.
If Naylaa would offer up more mind-blowing, heart-wrenching sex, then he would take it and say thank you.
They stepped out of the forest and Gorvan’s feet hit the hard earth of packed roads.
“Follow me,” Naylaa said as she walked forward along the road into the town.
Gorvan stayed close on her heels, aware of the strange looks he received from the townspeople as they walked.
He was much taller than most in this part of the world, and that alone attracted attention.
But couple that with his blue eyes and the fact he walked with Naylaa, and people were practically staring.
He kept his eyes down and his feet moving, until Naylaa turned off the main path and walked up to a small house at the back end of the town.
She opened her home to Gorvan and he stepped inside the small house quickly, ducking his head in the entrance.
“I must not linger,” he whispered, far too aware of the danger that he brought to the town.
NAYLAA LOOKED UP AT Gorvan in surprise as she reached for the food she had that was suitable for the blue-eyed man.
“Why not? Why can’t you stay to explore our connection further?” Naylaa handed him some bread and dried blue fruit she kept for her medicines. She would have to find some more sustenance for him. He wouldn’t last long on the small supply she had.
He looked up at her in surprise before quickly chewing and swallowing the fruit. She filled a jug full of water from the barrel she kept in the house and he sighed in relief as he drank three cups of water before speaking.
“Thank you. I have not eaten enough lately.”
Naylaa frowned. “Why did you not bring enough with you?”
His gaze darted away from her as he answered. “We did not plan to travel for so long. However, Seinna and I have enjoyed it so much, we’ve kept moving.”
Suspicion flared within her. She knew he was keeping something from her, but what? To keep herself busy, she filled his cup again and found some more food he could eat. She had some white vegetables that were quite plain, but nourishing for all eye colors.
“Sit, please.” She pushed at Gorvan’s shoulders until he sat and ate everything she’d put in front of him.
Replenished finally, he sighed loudly and drank more water.
He was a bit of a mystery to her. She didn’t know much about the physiology of the blue eyes. How much water did he need to drink?
“Thank you, Naylaa,” he said, closing his eyes and swaying on the chair he sat upon, obviously exhausted.
She would let him rest first then ask him more questions in the morning.
“Let’s get some sleep, Gorvan.” She pulled on his arm and led him to her bedroom.
Gorvan swayed on his feet but still managed to smile wickedly as he began to take off his clothes.
Heat pooled in her lower belly as she watched him, a wave of arousal sweeping over her. He was the biggest, most muscled man she’d ever seen. His chest was smooth and broad, a scar slicing through his pectoral muscles.
When he pulled off his pants, her mouth ran dry. Already semi-erect, she watched as his cock lengthened in front of her eyes. Nothing was more honest about desire than this, and she loved how much he wanted her.
Gorvan stood naked before her, smiling with his arms spread wide. “Well?”
Sinking to her knees, she took him hungrily into her mouth.
He gasped, gripped the back of her head and held her tightly to him. “Fuck, that feels so good.”
Naylaa lapped up the pre cum on the end of his long shaft, enjoying the salty taste of him as she tongued the slit. She hummed happily in her throat, then opened her lips to envelope as much of his length as she could.
Moving on him like this aroused her even more and she moved her hand down to her pussy, inserting her middle finger deep inside.
Trying her best to mimic the rhythm her mouth set, Naylaa set her body ablaze. She moaned around his thick cock, unable to keep in her pleasure.
Gorvan gasped and pulled her mouth off him. “Get up here, woman.”
In one, quick movement he picked her up and carefully tossed her onto the bed. She bounced on the soft mattress and smiled wickedly up at him. She’d known her true mate would be her match, but she’d never thought of how amazing the sex between them would be.
The chemistry between themtruly made her head spin.
She lay back and open
ed her legs for him. “Come fuck me, Gorvan.”
He slid on top of her, and with one thrust they were joined.
Together they began the ancient mating dance of supreme pleasure, their bodies moving and clinging to each other as their moans filled the air.
Naylaa clutched Gorvan’s thick arms and groaned in time with his thrusts as he slammed her into the bed.
With each thrust of his cock inside her body she felt her connection to him strengthening. Like strands of twine twisting together, making a thicker, tighter rope.
“Oh, by the Gods! Naylaa!” Gorvan buried his head in the crook of her neck and came deeply inside her.
Hot torrents of cum burst forth from him, mere seconds before her climax was triggered.
They lay shaking in each other’s arms and Naylaa knew this was the man meant for her. Despite their differences and his resistance, Fate had not made a mistake in bringing Gorvan here.
Her heart wasn’t yet convinced he could fully make her happy, but their physical connection was most definitely intense.
They slowly separated their bodies and pulled up the thin bed coverings to keep them warm through the cool night.
A night the new King of their town would be born.
Curving his body around hers, Gorvan slipped a possessive hand over her waist and belly.
“Stay with me.”
“Yes, of course.”
Naylaa fell asleep with an image of the Queen’s babe in her mind and Gorvan’s warm body pressed against her.
The next morning Naylaa woke first. Sighing in bliss, she stretched and rubbed her body against the large male in her bed. No man had ever stayed all night with her before and she loved feeling his warmth and presence next to her.
Gorvan grunted and thrust his semi-hard cock in between her buttocks.
Naylaa smiled. So much for verbal communication. “Good morning. Did you sleep well?”
He stretched behind her, his arms reaching far above his head.
“I did, amazingly well. I’d forgotten how comfortable a bed could be. And this one is much larger than most I have seen.”
