Lost In Time: A Fallen Novel Page 23

by Palmer, Christie

“You’re completely right,” Marcus said, reaching for the shirt he had just discarded.

“But Ryder is taking the plane. We will have to take a commercial airline. How long will that take to arrange?” Marcus smiled at her question and pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialed the number of someone he knew that worked at the airlines. It helped to have people in every occupation.

Ricky picked up on the first ring, and Marcus explained what they needed. Putting his hand over the receiver he looked at Celeste. “There are two flights leaving today, one in an hour which we would never make, or one at 4:30 this afternoon getting into Boston around ten?”

Marcus couldn’t control his smile as Celeste looked from him to the bed and back. “I guess 4:30,” she said, her voice having gone just a little husky. Marcus went back to Ricky, but his attention was totally on Celeste as she started to undress by pulling her t-shirt slowly over her head.

Marcus took an uncontrolled step toward her, but she backed up, her thumb sliding into the waistband of her leather pants she slipped them down her hips.

“MARCUS?” Ricky bellowed into the phone, and Marcus had to turn away from her.

  “What?”

“You’re set man. Terminal 9, and I heard you lie to the woman. I could have your plane ready for you anytime,” Ricky said laughing.

“Shut up Ricky, and I’ll see you then.” Marcus shut his phone off and tossed it into the corner. He turned back to Celeste as she shimmed out of her pants.

“I’ve fought blood thirsty Wer’s,” he said, moving around the bed toward her. She crawled quickly across, her round ass mocking him as it moved away from him. “Vicious vampires, hell-bent on draining me dry.”

She climbed off the other side of the bed and grabbed her braid. She started to undo her hair. He had never thought hair was erotic, but Celeste had the most erotic and beautiful hair he had ever seen. It was the color of a sunset, and he wanted to wrap them in it.

“You were saying?” she asked, shaking it free. Her breasts bounced in the soft lace that covered them. Her skin took on a slight reddish pink shade.

“Hordes of Demons. What does it mean when your skin changes color?” he asked unbuckling his pants.

“Depends on the color I turn.” She ran her fingers through her hair, drawing it around her shoulder she reached behind her and unhooked the bra she was wearing. It fell to the floor.

“Red?” he breathed unable to take his eyes off her.

“Red?” she asked sarcastically. “Is the color of passion, but you were saying something else, Fallen.”

The use of Fallen brought him back to the present. Shaking his head, he looked up at the ceiling. “All those creatures I’ve fought, I never feared for my life, never worried for my safety. But you?” He looked down. She had kneeled on the bed and was slowly crawling toward him and for the first time in his life, he wasn’t sure if he should run or attack. This is what she had driven him to. Complete and utter disillusionment of himself.

“You scare the hell out of me.”

She laughed, and the sound bounced around him like an embrace. He looked down as her pink tongue came out and rimmed his belly button before moving up his stomach she stopped to kiss each muscle, suckle on each nipple. His legs actually shook. “You’re going to kill me, Celeste.”

She looked up again; red bleeding into the violet of her eyes. “Marcus?” she asked leaning back until she lay flat on her back. Her hair fanned out around her, she was completely naked and the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. He had missed her removing her underwear, and he was still wearing his pants.

“Hm?” was all he was capable of. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen with proud, firm breasts, nipples hard pointed toward heaven. Arms wide, she waited.

“Heaven is for the boring. Hell?” she asked arching one scorching beautiful eyebrow. “Is where all the fun is.”

She let her legs fall open, and he was lost. He fell on her like a starving man at a feast. He kissed every inch he could touch as her skin turned rosy red wherever he touched her. The blood in her veins streaked just below the surface of her skin, black as night.

He looked up, eyes black, pupils violet.

“Do I frighten you?” she asked, knowing in her current form she looked anything but human and more Demon than any man would care to tangle with. An Angel would run screaming from any kind of Demon, and here he was falling all over one, knowing that he would never walk away from her.

Marcus licked her stomach, watching her skin turn bright red as he dragged his tongue down toward her body.

“Actually, I was thinking that you are the most beautiful creature ever created.” And then his mouth was busy, and all his words left him as her scent and taste filled places in him he didn’t know had been empty.

Celeste lay physically unable to move as he worked magic on the center of her body. Sucking in breaths, she searched for the control she knew she had to keep from giving him everything he wanted, everything she wanted him to have. She spiraled out of control, letting her climax drive her into the bright light of the glorious morning that bloomed over Marcus’s shoulder.

When he looked up, he had an entirely too cocky look on his face. “Your climax is amazing,” he growled, and her hips bucked up without her control, which only made his smile widen. He bent down, thrusting his tongue deep within her, circling her opening until she screamed through her second release.

“Someone is over dressed,” she finally growled. Marcus fully understood why his growls made her crazy with passion. Hers were doing the same to him.

Standing, he started to pull them off only to have her crawl over to him and take over, sliding her hands down the inside of his pant legs so her hands glided along his bare legs. She pushed them down, and he stepped out of them.

She wanted him so badly she was a little afraid she was going to hurt him. The sex Demon in her was in control. She ran a hand up his chest and one down the inside of his thigh as her mouth closed around the head of his large cock. Knowing she was bordering on the point of pain, she eased and then drew him in as far as he would go, as she fisted the soft hair of his chest. Her other hand came up to cup the tight sacks as the base. She moved on him, drawing him out until he was begging for more, only to pull away at the last minute and run her tongue along the length of him all the while rolling the balls in the palm of her hand. Her other hand rubbed his chest and abdomen.

“Gods, Celeste,” he breathed, barely able to get the words out. “I can’t stand much more.”

Celeste turned to the clock on the bedside she smiled. “But it’s only eight in the morning, Fallen. We have hours yet,” she said, pulling him deep into her mouth she swallowed around him, squeezing the tip at the back of her throat.

“Mother of all the Gods,” Marcus swore. Pulling himself from her, he stumbled backwards, grasping the base of his erection. He took several breaths. He snarled at her and stumbled to the bed. He threw her back, spreading her legs, he planted her thighs on his hips and drove into her. Her entire body bowed up until just her shoulders touched the mattress. He pounded into her like a man possessed. He watched as the colors of her skin shifted from pink to blood red, only making him drive into her harder. Pressure built in him to the point of pain.

She opened her eyes and looked at him, no longer a Reaper, but in full blown Sex Demon. She sat up, using muscle control he didn’t think was humanly possible and wrapped herself around him. She rotated her hips as she grasped each ass cheek with her hands pulling him close. She sank her teeth into the muscle where his neck and shoulder connected, and the pain bled into pleasure. He swung her around and pressed her against the wall, driving into her until she screamed out her passion.

Her climax clinching him, pulling him deeper and milking him, he couldn’t control his own orgasm. His head fell back, and he growled with the release that was forced from him as she milked his cock.

“I lied,” he finally said when
they had fallen back onto the bed. He pulled her close, wrapping the blankets around them.

Celeste immediately lifted her head, fear shining in her eyes. He cupped her face.

“I thought you were what I had been looking for the past five hundred years. But it goes much farther back than that.” He leaned down and kissed her gently. “I think even in the Elysian Field I searched for you, Celeste. You are the reason I fell, the only reason I have existed. For this moment, this time with you.”

His words were both sincere and burned like fire in the pit of her stomach. He was baring himself, and she had to hold back, knowing they didn’t have a future together. She swallowed past the tears and climbed on top of him.

“Then you have a lot of time to make up for,” she whispered over his skin, biting his shoulder so she could hide the emotion in her eyes. She slid him into her, holding this time for the two of them.

Marcus helped her out of the car. She smiled and moved toward the jet. He had bared his heart to her earlier, and she had thrown up a wall. It was a wall he had enjoyed. Several times, in fact. But it didn’t change the fact she was still holding something back from him. It ate at him like a fire in the pit of his stomach.

She turned and glared at him “I thought we were taking a commercial flight because Ryder took the plane?”

He couldn’t help but smile at her “Just a little white lie.”

Marcus couldn’t stop from leaning down and kissing her nose. “Don’t be mad.”

The look she gave him let him know she was definitely going to be mad. “Marcus, this is bigger than the two of us and sex.” She glared.

“The hell it is,” he argued. “Sometimes taking a step back is more important than barreling forward with all guns drawn, Celeste.”

“Or after five hundred years without sex, you are letting your cock make the decisions.”

Marcus grabbed her by the shoulder. “Tell me you didn’t enjoy the day? Tell me you didn’t forget about Calliope even if for just a couple of hours? Tell me the multiple orgasms you had weren’t worth putting it off.”

Her only response was to glare at him and stomp off toward the jet.

They didn’t speak during the flight. Celeste had curled up in a chair the moment she got on the plane. Her sword leaned up against her, she had fallen asleep immediately.

He sat across from her watching her sleep, wondering what he was going to do. How was he going to break down that damn wall she hid behind?

With Jessica it had been an open book. He always knew where he stood with her. She told him exactly how she felt, feelings be damned.

Celeste, on the other hand, kept everything so close he was afraid if he tried to break through her walls, it would break her. He had seen one woman broken this year. The look on Kyra’s face after leaving the Infernos had broken his heart he never wanted to the kind of pain that had been deep in her eyes.

She still had it, and Marcus knew Ryder saw it as well. When no one else was looking, darkness would pass through her, making her shiver. The thought of Celeste experiencing anything like that made him want to commit murder. He wondered what she feared, and why she refused to let him in.

“Yo, we’re almost there. You wanna wake the beauty?” Ricky asked leaning out of the cockpit.

Marcus nodded and leaned forward he placed a hand on Celeste’s shoulder.

“Baby, it’s time to wake up.” He shook her lightly.

One moment she was still as the dead, and the next she was crouched on the seat with the Sword plunged deep into Marcus’s shoulder.

“Mother fucker!” Marcus fell back, darkness bleeding into him from the Black Sword. Something bleed deep into his soul. And just as quickly as she had stabbed him, Celeste pulled the Sword free and straddled him. She pressed against the wound, bloody tears filling her eyes and streaming down her face.

“You frightened me,” she whispered. Tearing his t-shirt, she wadded it up and pressed it against his shoulder.

Marcus looked from his shoulder and back to her. “Ya think?” he took a couple of breaths. “Get off,” he urged. Celeste scrambled off him so he could sit up.

“It went straight through,” she said, looking at him. “That’s good, right?” She pressed her hand against his chest, touching something within him. “Your soul is untouched. Your good right?” she asked again.

“You know what would be good? If I could wake you without being stabbed in the shoulder,” Marcus snarled his anger from his words earlier, his affection being unreturned, and his inability to get through to her, only to have her stab him.

“I’m sorry, Marcus,” she said, leaning back on her heels.

“Yep, sorry. Great, makes it all better, Celeste. Thanks.” He pulled himself to his feet and moved to the back of the plane where the attendants were sitting and talking. They immediately jumped up when they saw him.

  ****

Celeste followed him, only to see the two pretty attendants doting over him like he was going to drop dead any second.

“How could this happen?” the blond one asked pouting her big full lips and batting her simple brown eyes.

“Too close to the end of a sword, sweetheart. Make sure you don’t make that mistake,” Marcus said with no emotion.

The other stewardess giggled. “Not the kind that would slice you open like this. What type of barbarian carries a sword like that? An accident was bound to happen,” she mewled, pressing gauze to his shoulder.

Celeste had seen enough. She was a barbarian. No, not a barbarian; a god damned Demon. From a line of Demonessess that had been banned to Lust because they were a scourge to the mortal and immortal population. She sat down and pulled her legs up. Wrapping her arms around her legs, she looked around. How had she gotten here? What had pushed her to want to save the world from Calliope? She had nothing to prove. She should be sequestered in the Infernos right now, letting the real warriors fight it out. But nooo, she wanted to be part of the action, was sick of hiding from the worlds. She desperately wanted to be heard and seen, not just as a Sex Demon, but as a person with a soul. Regardless of the fact she shared the blood of a Reaper and Sex Demon, she was a person with a soul.

Marcus stomped up and took the seat across from her. “Buckle up, we’re landing.”

“I’m sorry,” she said again, but he only waved her off. She pulled her seat belt on and swallowed passed the lump in her throat. She forced herself to look out the window at the lights of the city blinking in the darkness of the night. This is where she belonged; in the darkness of the night and they all knew it. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have stabbed the man she loved or spent the day making love to him instead of planning an attack that would rid the world of Calliope.

Celeste felt her stomach tighten into a ball. She had been told her entire life she was an abomination. But for the first time in five hundred years she actually felt like one. The plane bounced to a stop and as soon as the doors opened she scrambled out, wanting to get just a little distance between herself and Marcus. Where she could think straight. She really should have known better.

There was no warning, just the gently brush of black wings against her throat and the quietly whispered, “Sister.”

  Chapter 12

“Stay on the plane,” she screamed as she rolled away, catching her elbow on the stairs. She thanked the gods she had been the first one off the plane. Because the stairs she had been standing on blew into a million different pieces.

Another wing flew out, as the black feathers whipped across her face, and Calliope knocked her from her feet. It felt as if someone had splashed acid in her face, and she screamed out in pain.

“Victor,” she called as Calliope took flight. Celeste rolled under the plane as she came out on the other side she searched the darkness above her. She was hoping to draw his attention away from the mortals and Marcus.

He came out of nowhere, dipping down from the dark sky and knocked her off her feet, just as three Flashes
surrounded her.

Victor picked her up. “Are you okay?”

“Yes, just scratches.” She searched the night sky. Christian and Garrett did the same. Then they heard Marcus’s bellow, and the screams of the women on the plane.

“Destroy everything,” Victor said to Christian.

“Wait, Marcus is in the plane.” Celeste took off toward the door, but Victor stopped her.

“Do you really think he is going to survive?” The screams of the dying echoed from the inside of the plane.

She yanked her arm free of Victor’s and headed up the steps anyway before she slipped and fell. When she made it to her feet, she didn’t even recognize the inside of the plane. Blood was splattered against every surface.

A head of one of the stewardesses rolled down between the seats, causing bile to rise in Celeste’s throat. And then the plane shock, and Marcus came flying through the air. She stepped into the path of his body, taking the brunt of the impact, she rolled with him.

He looked at her, his eyes bleary with pain. “Get out,” he gurgled, blood spilling from his mouth. Calliope stomped down toward them, and she pushed Marcus out of the plane and grabbed the sword, swinging it without thinking. She clipped Calliope on the shoulder.

He shrieked and backed away. “Why?” he accused, actual hurt filling his eyes.

Celeste eyes bulge. “Look around you. That is why,” she shouted. Swinging the sword again, she advanced on the Reaper.

“But they were mere mortals, nothing. And the Fallen? He is two steps away from a Reaper himself,” Calliope argued. “You touched him with the sword.” He laughed.

Celeste stabbed at him, burring part of the sword in his leg. “These are souls,” she shrieked. “They must be allowed to make the choice in life.”

Calliope laughed at this statement, and Celeste stopped backing him up, still holding the sword up. “They did make the choice, sister. They just chose the wrong side.” He touched his chest. “And now they belong to me.”

With that he turned and burst through the back of the small plane. As soon as he was out of sight, she ran from the plane.
