Unlikely Love Page 16

by M. J. Perry

We’ve never heard from Sketch just like Matt said we wouldn’t but Mike had sent me a bouquet of flowers when Matilda was born saying sorry and that he hoped me and James would have a good life together. James let me read the card then he threw it in the bin as well as the flowers making me chuckle.

We’d married in a small ceremony three weeks after we’d become engaged and it was the best wedding ever, not only because I’d married the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with, but because we’d done it in the church, my parents are buried in. It felt like they were with me all the way.

James hadn’t changed much except for becoming more possessive when I was pregnant and more protective when Matilda came into the world but I was ok with that and I wouldn’t change my amazingly sexy husband for anything. He was a wonderful daddy just like I knew he would be and I loved being a mummy. Matilda has brought more love and happiness into our lives and it felt like I could burst from it.

Life has turned into a dream come true. Things have settled down, things are simple and we live a life practically stress free which is an astonishing thing considering what happened in such a short time when we’d first met.

Who would have known that we’d end up so happy when I’d walked through Harrison’s looking for my sister? Thank god for Ruby.

Our love was so strong I’d like to think that James and I would have met in different circumstances but it might not have been for years and years. Ruby brought us together and I would never forget it or be able to thank her enough even if I’d rather not have gone through what we did.

  THE END
