After Darrell finished cooking, he told everyone to go eat and took Kaiah's plate up to her room. He knocked on her door and she told him to come in. She was sitting on her bed Indian style on the computer. "What you doing?" he asked as he handed her a plate.
"I'm looking for somewhere to open my business," she said.
"What business you trynna open?" he said before sitting next to her on the bed and popping a piece of bacon on his mouth.
"A event planning business."
"Word? I got a job for you already," he said.
"What?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"My birthday in about three months, so why don't you hook a nigga up?"
"I don't even have a building, I don't have any cards and I don't even have any clients," Kaiah explained as she dug into her cheesy eggs.
"So, I know you and I trust you. If you do good, I know some people who I can recommend you to, so clients won't be a problem. I also might have a building for you. If you do good I'll put the word out but if you fuck it up, Imma talk about you," he laughed.
"You are such an asshole," she laughed. "But okay, watch me work. As a matter of fact, I'll start planning as soon as I'm done eating. That might help me take my mind off everything else."
"Yea, you do that. Let me see how good your planning skills is. Do any of your girls strip? If so you can send them my way." He winked.
Just the mention of her girls made her realize that she hadn't been to the mansion in a while. She wasn't worried about the girls because she knew they knew the protocol and how things went, but she still had a business to run. She reached over for her phone and called the mansion.
"Oh my gosh, Kay Kay, we were just thinking about you and Kaily," Natalia said. "Angel came by earlier and she told us what happened. We send our deepest condolences."
"Thanks mamas, but how are things going over there?" she asked, changing the subject so she wouldn't start crying.
"You know I'm running this thing over here with an iron fist," Natalia said.
Kaiah chuckled because she could just imagine what was going on over there because all the other girls were scared of Natalia because she was crazy as hell. "Alright now Nati, don't be over there abusing my girls."
"Oh, I'm not but you know I'm not up for no bullshit," Natalia said with her accent coming out.
"We miss you Kay Kay!" she heard in the background.
"I miss y'all more!" She smiled. "I was just calling to check on y'all. Nati, I will be coming to get you because we have business to take care of."
"Alrighty, boss lady. I'll be ready," Natalia said.
Kaiah just shook her head with a smile as she hung up the phone. Darrell started laughing. Kaiah looked at him funny. "What?" she asked.
"Whoever would have thought that the girl of my dreams would have turned out to be a pimp? We all thought Kaison was going to follow in your dad's footsteps, never would have thought it would be you."
"Excuse me, but I am not a pimp, I prefer the word madam. Plus, I was the one always running behind daddy and following him while Duke and Kaily were doing their own thing, so I just did what I knew." She shrugged.
"That shit is sexy as hell though, I can't even lie," Darrell said.
Kaiah got quiet and took a couple of bites of her food before she spoke again. "Why me?" she asked.
"What you mean?" he asked.
"Everyone wants Kaiah, claim they love me, talk all this shit about what they would do if they had me, but all they do is hurt me when they actually get me. First Cortez then Deonte. I know it's because of me, but I'm just trying to figure out what I do that's so wrong."
Darrell turned her around so that they were facing each other. "Kaiah, look, stop thinking that there is something wrong with you. That shit you went through, I personally think you handled that better than anyone could have. You're not strung out on drugs, you're not in the strip club shaking your ass, and you’re not on the corner selling ass. So what if you spaz out every now and then, so what if you barely trust somebody, so what if you don't know how to love the right way.
“If a nigga can't love you for you and all your flaws, then he's not the one for you. I'm not just saying this shit just to be another nigga in your ear, but in saying this shit because you need to hear it. Never let a nigga get you to the point where you have to start doubting yourself as a woman."
Kaiah didn't say anything as she let his words sink in. Everything he was saying sounded real good, but she had heard that and so many other words before.

Deonte had Sherae come and pick him up from jail. He needed some time to think and get his head right. He had been at her house for the past couple of hours. They were sharing each other's pain, dwelling in the fact that Carlos was really gone.
Deonte was still having a hard time believing it. They had been through everything together. He was trying to figure out what was so wrong in his life that he felt like he couldn't live anymore. He grabbed Sherae's car keys to go check on his brother and sister. He knew they had been staying with Kaiah, so that's where he was headed.
When he pulled up, he had to park on the street because there were two cars already parked in her driveway. He knocked on the door and some nigga he didn't know opened the door. "Yo, Duke!" Zacorin said as he stood in front of the door.
Kaison came to the door. "He good, that's D-Boy," he told Zacorin.
"She got door guards now?" Deonte asked as he walked in.
"Nah, he's just a cautious nigga around people he don't know," Kaison said. "She's downstairs."
Deonte went downstairs where he found Synai, Kaiah and another nigga he didn't know sitting around the table. The dude had his arm around the chair Kaiah was in while they all looked at something. He cleared his throat to get their attention. "Look who finally decided to show up," Synai said. "Welcome home, sir."
"That's all I get, no hug or nothing?" He reached his arms out. Synai got up to hug her brother while Darrell told Kaiah he was going upstairs. "What y'all looking at?" he asked.
"A floor plan of the building Kay Kay might be opening her business in," Synai said.
"What business?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
Kaiah had yet to speak. In fact, she hadn't even acknowledged Deonte since he came down the stairs. "Cat got ya tongue?"
"Synai, go upstairs for a minute so me and your brother can talk." Kaiah said.
After Synai was gone, Deonte walked over to Kaiah and kissed her stomach. "What's up with you?"
She shrugged. "I'm good, I guess, just a little tired, but nothing I can't handle. What's up with you though? How you feeling?"
"Shit, I honestly don't know how to feel. I should be happy I'm a free man but at the same time, I lost my best friend behind it."
"Why did you lie to me, Tae? I asked you did you do it and you looked me in my eyes and lied with a straight face."
Deonte sighed. "I don't know. I guess I said it because everyone already thought I did it, so I said fuck it."
"So you would have missed out on your child's life willingly over something you didn't do? It was that serious?"
"Well, it really doesn't matter now, I'm free. I just lost my fucking best friend and you wanna talk about some irrelevant shit!" he raised his voice.
Kaiah didn't say anything, she just got up and grabbed the letter that Carlos had left him and handed it to him. "What's this?" he asked.
She didn't even answer him, she just left him downstairs so he could read his letter in peace. Deonte sat on the couch and read his letter. He was left speechless after he finished. Basically, he was apologizing for messing up his and Kaiah's relationship. He said he wanted him to work out their problems because they belonged together. He knew that they were meant for each other because he had never seen Deonte so happy and that they should put all the bullshit behind them and be together.

Since Synai had to stop by Deonte's house to pick up something, Kaiah was grabbing some more of her
clothes. Synai had made it very clear that even though her brother was home now, she had no desire to move back in with him. Kaiah couldn't say anything because that was his sister, so she was going to leave that argument for those two.
Actually, Kaiah really hadn't spoken to Deonte herself in the three days that he had been out. She called to tell him about her doctor’s appointment that she’d had today where they would be finding out the sex of the baby, but he didn't return her phone call nor did he show up.
"Alright Synai, you grab whatever you need while I grab some stuff out the closet," Kaiah said as they headed upstairs. The bedroom door was closed so without a second thought, she just walked in the room. There, laying in the bed, was Deonte sleeping peacefully. Unfortunately, he wasn't alone. Sherae had her arms wrapped around him with her head on his chest.
"Kay Kay, I..." Synai cut her sentence off when she noticed what Kaiah was looking at.
Kaiah walked over to the bed and lightly tapped Deonte. He stirred until he woke up and his eyes bucked when he noticed Kaiah standing there. "Kaiah, what are you doing here?"
Before Kaiah even had a chance to respond, Synai was dragging Sherae's naked body out of the bed by her hair. "Ahhhh! Get her off me Tae!" Sherae yelled as Synai pounded on her unmercifully.
Kaiah just stepped back in amazement. She really had a mind to jump in, but her baby had already been through enough. She just looked at Deonte with hate in her eyes. Without saying a word, she headed for the door. "That's enough Synai, let's go."
Giving Sherae one last kick, Synai walked away and headed towards the door right behind Kaiah. "I hope you know you've lost her for good now," Synai said over her shoulder.
Deonte knew he should have run behind them and stopped them, but he was tired of doing that. He was always running after Kaiah. Enough was enough. She was the one who always said to let Sherae be there for him, so she finally got what she wanted. What was the point in fighting for their relationship if he was the only one fighting?
Kaiah went out to her car and grabbed her ultrasound that showed they were having a girl. She thought about what Shauntez said about her always running away from her problems, so she wasn't going to run this time. "Stay in the car Synai, because if that bitch put her hands on you, I just might have to kill her," Kaiah said before using her key to walk back in the house.
Deonte was coming down the stairs as she walked in. "Since you couldn't answer your phone, here," she said, handing him the ultrasound. "We will be having a healthy baby girl. I wish I could stay and chat longer, but I have some business to take care of right now. You can call me tomorrow and we can sit down and talk," she said before walking back out the door.
Deonte stood there looking at the picture of his baby girl. He was happy that he was having a daughter. After all the other children he never got a chance to meet, he should be jumping for joy right now, but instead, he was feeling like shit. Once again, another issue had risen in his and Kaiah's relationship and he had nobody to blame but himself.
He went back upstairs and threw Sherae’s clothes at her. "Yo man, you gotta go."
"I'm sick of this shit," she mumbled.
"Don't start. Just get ya shit and I'll holla at you later," he said before she slammed the bedroom door. He didn't have time for women and their temper tantrums today. All he knew was he had to get his shit together; if not for him, then for his daughter who would be here very soon.

Angel, Keymani and Kaison were laying in the bed watching a movie when all of a sudden, Angel felt the baby kick. "Ooh," she said as she grabbed her stomach then sat up. This was really the first time she had felt her baby kick and she was excited.
"What's wrong?" Kaison asked, alerted.
She took his and Keymani's hands and put them where the baby had just kicked. They waited a few minutes before it happened it again. It kind of scared Keymani and she jumped back with a giggle.
"Someone's a little excited." Angel smiled.
"She's just ready to see her handsome daddy. That's all." Kaison smiled.
"Boy please, you mean he's ready to see his beautiful mommy."
"Put money on it that it's a girl," Kaison said with his hand out.
"How much, because Kaily already bet fifty." Angel smirked.
"Then I'll double that. One hundred dollars says it's a girl."
They shook on it and Angel smiled. "I'm about to be $150 dollars richer."
Keymani rubbed Angel's stomach then tapped her chin like she was thinking about something. "Boy daddy, it's a boy."
Angel and Kaison busted out laughing at the same time. "Really, princess? You turning on your daddy now?" he asked while tickling her.
The moment of laughter was cut short when they heard glass breaking and tires screeching. Kaison jumped out the bed and grabbed his gun, "Y'all stay there," he said before leaving the room.
When he got downstairs, he went straight for the kitchen but everything was fine. Then he went into the living room where he found a brick laying in some glass that came from the window. He didn't have to think twice about who it was because it had 'vindictive bitch' written all over it.
He went back upstairs and grabbed his phone. "Hello?" Mesha answered.
"Bitch, when I see you, I'm smashing ya fucking face in!" he yelled into the phone and hung up before she could even respond. He wasn't worried about her calling back because he had blocked her number a long time ago.
"Oh, daddy said two bad words," Keymani said with her mouth covered.
Kaison cringed. He never talked like that in front of his daughter and he wasn't about to start now. He had just gotten taken out of his character for a minute. "C'mon lil mama, time for bed," Angel said as they got out of the bed.
"Aw man, already?"
"Yes ma'am. We have to get up early for Uncle Carlos' funeral."
While Angel was getting Keymani ready for bed, Kaison went downstairs to board up the window until he could get it fixed. He knew he should have left Mesha's trifling ass in the hood where he found her. She was starting to become more of a problem than a little bit. She better had been glad my seed wasn't born when she did this shit or it was going to be lights out for that hoe.

Today was the day that Kaily would be saying goodbye to Carlos for forever and she wasn't ready. She was walking around in a trance with sunglasses on to hide her eyes. She literally hadn't slept since the incident because if she even tried, she would have had nightmares. Fortunately, Orlando has been by her side through it all.
He would hold her at night when she cried, force her to eat when she would go a day or two without eating, and was just there to comfort her when she needed it.
"You ready?" he asked.
They were meeting up at Senior's house since the repast would be at Kaiah's.
"I guess," she said as he helped her out of the car.
When they got in the house, Keymani took off running and hugged her auntie’s legs. That warmed Kaily's heart. That was just like Keymani to love on you when you needed it the most. "I love you."
"I love you more," Kaily said.
They walked over to the couch where Kaison, Angel, Kaiah and Synai were sitting. "So, this must be the pregnant section, minus two." She smiled for the first time in almost a week.
"You know our drill sergeants aren't going anywhere while we're carrying their babies," Kaiah laughed. They scooted over so that she could sit down and she grabbed Kaiah's hand while she laid her head on Kaison's shoulder.
"What would I do without my Doublemint twins? I just want to thank you two for everything. I know I should have contributed to help out, but I'm..."
"Girl, please stop. We know what you going through, so don't even try it. You always have our backs, so of course were going to have yours. Don't be thanking us," Kaison said.
Suddenly, Synai jumped off the couch and stomped over to Shauntez, and everyone was wondering what was wrong with her until they noticed Deonte walking over with
Sherae on his arm. Kaiah sat there like she was unfazed. She wasn't even going to feed into this bullshit because now wasn't the time or the place.
"Follow me for a minute," Kaiah said to Deonte as she got off the couch.
She led him upstairs to her bedroom. She walked into the closet and grabbed a blue dress shirt and tie for him to put on. Everyone was wearing some type of blue in honor of Carlos since that was his favorite color and Kaiah didn't want him to be left out.
"Take that shirt and tie off and put this on," she said.
He took the shirt and tie from her but when she tried to walk out, he grabbed her by the hand. "I'm sorry," he said.
Kaiah didn't respond. She just nodded her head before leaving him in the room by himself. After he changed, Deonte walked over to the mirror on her dresser to check himself out. A picture on his dresser caught his eye. It was a picture that Kaily had taken of them on their wedding day when they were in Hawaii.
Deonte remembered that day like it was yesterday. He had surprised her with a wedding when she thought they were just on a family vacation. The two were so happy then; that was before they got hit with all the bullshit. That was before his affair with Naomi got out, before Shemar came into the picture, before she stopped trusting him and before they started letting people come in between their marriage.
"D-boy it's time to go," Shauntez said as he walked in the room. He walked over to his brother. "What you looking at?"
"What used to be," Deonte said.
Shauntez looked at the picture and smiled. "Now that's the Mr. and Mrs. Smith I know. I don't know who y'all are now."
"I don't even know myself," mumbled Deonte.
"Don't worry big bro, y'all will get back to that happy place y'all used to be at. I have faith in you two," Shauntez said as Deonte put the picture back and they walked out the room.
Just so there wouldn't be any problems or confusion, Kaiah had two family cars. She had it set up where she, Kaily, Orlando, Senior, Dolly and Stacy would ride in one while Deonte, Sherae, Kaison, Angel, Keymani, Synai and Shauntez would ride in the other.
