Jake just grinned. “Saw it on Tube8, and it looked like fun.”

Ryan couldn’t help but chuckle. “Oh it was, baby, it was.” He had a mischievous look on his face. “But maybe I can surprise you?”

He rolled them over so that he was on top of Jake, straddling his waist. He kissed him senseless before grabbing the bottle of lube and Jake’s hand. He drizzled the thick liquid over those long fingers, and never breaking eye contact, he directed Jake’s hand back to his entrance. One finger circled it gently and then slid in. At Ryan’s breathless groan, Jake swallowed and started sliding it in and out, then added another finger. By the time he added the third, Ryan was hard again, and his hips were jerking forward every time Jake hit his prostate. Finally, Ryan had enough of waiting.

He slid back a little, grabbing Jake’s rock-hard dick at the base, and rolled a condom on before raising up and slowly lowering himself back down. He felt Jake’s hands at his hips, helping guide him, supporting him, and it made him feel loved and safe.

When he was fully seated, he stopped to breathe and to let himself adjust. When he was ready, he leaned down for another kiss.

“Ready, baby? I’m gonna make you feel so good.” Jake could only nod, words made impossible by the feeling of being so close to Ryan.

Ryan slowly slid up before slamming back down, Jake’s cock pressing on his prostate, sending waves of pleasure up his spine. He found a rhythm and leaned back, balancing with his hands on Jake’s thighs, causing an erotic drag on the thick cock inside him, slowly driving Jake out of his mind.

There was no way Jake could just lie there and not touch that beautiful dick, swaying in front of him, so he brought one hand from Ryan’s hip to wrap it in a tight grip.

“Jake… ahhhhh.” Oh God, how hot was that? Ryan saying his name, like what he was feeling was the most amazing thing he had ever felt in his life. Jake drizzled a little of the lube over the hand that was holding Ryan, and the slick just added to Ryan’s pleasure.

For Jake, it was the hottest, most intense thing he had ever seen. He was soon thrusting up, trying to get further into that hot, wet heat, to have more of Ryan surrounding him.

Ryan leaned forward again, hands on Jake’s chest, sweat dripping off his face. Their eyes locked, and the love shining out of Ryan’s eyes was the thing that pushed him over the edge. He arched up, almost bucking Ryan off, coming so fast and hard it was almost painful and then falling bonelessly back on the bed, his hand still on Ryan’s hard cock.

Ryan slid off Jake, pulling off the condom and tying it off and throwing it to the floor. He grabbed Jake by the hips and flipped him over, and Jake went willingly.

Ryan opened the lube again, slicking his own fingers this time, and slid one into Jake, who gave a growling moan at the feeling. Ryan prepared him as quickly as he could, urged on by the throbbing in his dick. When Jake was ready, he pulled him to his knees, head resting on a pillow clutched in his arms.

Ryan unrolled the condom, slicked up his cock, and gently pushed in. God, he was never gonna get over how tight Jake’s ass was. He was worried that it was all too much for his boyfriend, but Jake was pushing back, impaling himself harder onto Ryan.

Ryan just waited for a second, hands massaging all that pale skin in front of him, enjoying the feeling of being able to just touch. And then he started moving, shallow thrusts that kept his cock banging against Jake’s prostate, causing little whimpers to fall from his lips.

Ryan loved the way this felt, how deep it let him go into Jake, but he wanted his arms around him. So he leaned forward and wrapped himself around Jake’s chest, pulling him up so that he was practically in Ryan’s lap. Ryan thrust up into Jake, while Jake felt like he was falling, but he liked it.

His head fell back onto Ryan’s shoulder, and Ryan started whispering things in his ear.

“Love you so much, baby. Feels so good to be in you.” He bit at Jake’s earlobe before continuing.

“Wanna make love to you forever, Jake. Me in you, you in me, can’t decide which I want more.” One of Ryan’s hands was playing with Jake’s nipples while the other went down to very gently hold Jake’s still-hard cock in his hand, knowing it would be overly sensitive.

Jake felt surrounded by warmth and love, and it was almost enough to bring tears to his eyes. He reached back to hold Ryan against him, never wanting to let him go. Ryan’s thrusts were getting erratic, and Jake knew he was about to come. He turned his head and bit at Ryan’s neck before kissing the spot. He moved his lips to the shell of Ryan’s ear, licking around it.

“Feel so good in me, baby. I love how your cock feels in me. Come for me now, I wanna feel that too.”

The last word wasn’t even out of his mouth when Ryan thrust up, harder than before, and the pulsing of Ryan’s cock in his ass pushed Jake over the edge again, releasing all over Ryan’s hand and his own thighs.

Ryan brought his hand up to his mouth and licked it clean, causing an impossible twitch in Jake dick, before carefully lowering them both to their sides. He gently pulled free of Jake and removed the condom, throwing this one beside the other.

Jake twisted in his arms, pulling Ryan close and tucking his head under his chin. Ryan lay with his head against Jake’s chest, comforted by the sound of his slowing heartbeat. Their legs were tangled together, and he knew they were gonna be sorry for not cleaning up right away, but sleep was claiming him, and he was fading fast when he heard Jake’s quiet voice.

  “Love you, Ryan.”

Ryan just snuggled closer. “Mmmm, love you too, babe.”

They drifted off, both feeling like they had finally found the place they needed to be.

  Chapter 20

Jake watched Ryan playing with the new colts and laughed. He was like a kid when it came to those babies. They were only a month old, and they followed Ryan around like a couple of little puppies, only with longer legs. They knew he had carrots in his back pocket, and they kept nipping at his butt.

“Hey, be careful, that hurt, brat.” Ryan rubbed the spot where the colt had gotten a little too close with his teeth. Then he gave them the carrots.

Jake came over and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend, his own hands skimming down to grab that perfect ass.

“Yeah, Kaos, that ass belongs to me.” He leaned down and nipped his own mark into the soft skin showing at the neckline of Ryan’s shirt. “And I’m the only one who gets to bite it!” Ryan shivered in pleasure before pulling the taller man down for a kiss.

“Hmmm, only if I get to bite back.” Jake felt that smile against his mouth and thanked the fates again for the impulse that led Ryan to apply for this job.

It had been three months since that fateful day, and the difference in his life was nothing short of a miracle. Jake hadn’t felt so loved since his grandmother was alive.

Things hadn’t been perfect. There were folks in town who had stopped talking to him when they found out he was gay and that he and Ryan were a couple, but for the most part, the important people were very accepting.

They had been invited to the vet’s house for dinner a couple of times a month, and they had hosted a few dinners themselves. Ben Johnson was well on his way to a divorce, and he and the lovely sheriff seemed to be getting closer and closer. Ben’s soon-to-be-ex-wife Jen had been convicted of assault and given probation. She had packed up and left town, and not a soul was sad to see her go. Both of the rescued horses had birthed their foals, and Bella’s wounds had recovered nicely, with the help of Ryan’s poultice. Yes, things were definitely looking up.

Except for one thing. Ryan missed his family desperately. But whenever Jake brought up going home for a visit, Ryan would just say no, he wasn’t ready yet, and he wouldn’t talk about it.

Jake barely admitted to himself that he was scared to push it. He was afraid that if Ryan went to see his family, he might not come home. And Jake wasn’t sure he could live without Ryan in his life.

But he loved Ryan more than anything, so he was bound
and determined to try.

He let go of Ryan and took his hand, leading him back to the house and onto the porch swing. They sat, pressed together from shoulder to hip, just rocking comfortably.

“So, I talked to your mom today.” He felt Ryan stiffen. He rubbed his thumb over Ryan’s knuckles, having discovered that it was a very effective way of calming him. “She would really like to see you for Thanksgiving, Ryan. They miss you a lot.”

Ryan was looking away from him, but Jake could hear the pain in his voice. “I can’t go back there, Jake. You know why.” But he wanted to, he wanted to so desperately. Seeing his folks once or twice a year wasn’t enough.

“Babe, I know you’re scared, and you don’t want anyone to get hurt.” There was someone Jake would like to hurt, but he just kept playing with Ryan’s fingers, trying to calm him, so he could be reasoned with. “But your family needs to see you, and you need to see them.”

Jake’s voice constricted with the thought of spending another Thanksgiving alone, but he was ready to, for Ryan’s sake.

Ryan heard the pain in Jake’s voice. He turned to look at him. He saw how much Jake was hurting. Jake had no one, just him. Ryan had a whole family waiting for him in Galesburg, if he could just find the courage to get there.

He gave Jake a watery smile, then took a deep breath and plunged in. “Well, I hope you don’t think that you are going to get out of doing the dishes just because you’re new to the family” His smile got bigger when he saw the confusion on Jake’s face.

“Did you think I was going to go alone? I don’t think so.”

Jake was shaking his head. “Ryan, I wasn’t invited. I am not going to gatecrash Thanksgiving dinner.” He wanted to go, though, in his heart of hearts.

Ryan reached in his pocket and pulled out his cell phone. He dialed his grandmother’s number and put the phone on speaker.

When his grandmother answered, he started in. “Gramma, Jake says he won’t come for Thanksgiving dinner with me because he wasn’t invited. What do you have to say about that?” Jake was mortified.

“Ryan, is that you, baby boy? What do you mean, he’s not coming? Wait, you’re coming for Thanksgiving dinner? Oh my goodness, Ryan, really?” She started to cry. “Jake Evans, if you aren’t behind my boy when he walks in the door, I’ll come and get you myself, do you hear?” It was a voice that brooked no argument, and Jake could feel the grin split his face.

  “Yes, ma’am. I’ll be there. I promise.”

“Good, now no more nonsense from you. Oh, Ryan, your folks are gonna be so happy. I can’t wait to tell them.”

“Gramma, wait. Don’t tell them, okay? I want it to be a surprise, alright?”

“Alright, but this had better not be a way to get out of it. Don’t make me come get you, either. Got it, angel boy?”

“It’s not, I promise. I’ll talk to you later, Gramma. I have to go and let Jake give me heck for pulling this on him.”

They could hear her chuckle. “All right, darlin’. I love you. And Jake? Thank you so much.”

  “Love you too, Gram.”

  “You’re welcome, Mrs. Andrews.”

They hung up, and Jake turned to Ryan with an unreadable expression on his face. He stood up and walked a few steps away, his back to Ryan. “I am going to go and spend Thanksgiving with a whole family of people?”

Ryan got a little worried. “I’m sorry, Jake. If you don’t want to go, you don’t have to. I won’t force you.” He turned his head away, eyes filling with tears.

Jake turned at the heartbroken tone in Ryan’s voice. He walked back quickly, dropping to his knees in front of Ryan, who was still on the swing. He reached up and cradled Ryan’s face in his hands, and when Ryan looked into his eyes, he could see tears shining there too.

Jake leaned in and kissed Ryan gently. “Baby, you don’t have any idea, do you? I can’t wait to go and meet all the people who make up your life. I can’t wait for a real Thanksgiving dinner, not one at a mess hall, or sitting in silence with Mikayla and my father. One like my grandmother used to have.” He kissed Ryan’s forehead and his cheeks before wrapping his arms around his waist and nuzzling into his neck. “Just one more gift you’ve given me.”

Ryan wrapped himself around Jake, kissing the top of his head. “I was scared.”

Jake pulled back a bit, looking into those coffee-colored eyes. “Why?”

Ryan tried to duck his head, to get away from that probing look, but Jake wouldn’t let him. “Because I thought you didn’t want to deal with my… issues.” He looked back up. “I can’t promise it’s all going to be happy, Jake. Before I left, people were really mad at me. They all believed I tried… to, to….” His voice broke, and so did Jake’s heart.

He stood up quickly, pulling Ryan into his arms. “Shit, don’t, babe, please. You didn’t do anything. You know it, I know it, and your family knows it.” Ryan shifted himself closer to Jake, his head pressed up against his heart, tears soaking his shirt. “That boy panicked and threw you under a bus to save himself. I bet no one says anything anyhow, and if they do, I’ll be right beside you, okay?”

Ryan was worried, though. How would Jake react to people calling him names, assuming the worst of him? Jake didn’t deserve it, and Ryan was so sad to think that he might bring it on him. Jake had never really experienced that ugly side of being gay. The people here who hadn’t accepted him had just stopped talking to him. There? It would be a different story.

“Maybe you shouldn’t go.” He mumbled it against Jake’s shirt. Jake was still for a second, a little hurt, until he figured out what was going on.

“No way, cowboy, you are not getting out of this one. You promised me an Andrews Thanksgiving, and that’s what I’m gonna get.” He pulled Ryan’s face away from his chest, looking him in the eye. “Whatever else happens? We’ll get through it together.” He had to kiss him. Ryan was like this magnetic force in his universe. He leaned in, a gentle press of lips, until he felt Ryan relax into it. Then he let himself get lost in it, loving the feeling of falling into Ryan. His tongue came out, licked across Ryan’s lower lip, seeking permission and finding it. Jake was pretty sure there was nothing as perfect as Ryan’s mouth.

When he pulled back, there was still a shadow of doubt in Ryan’s eyes. “Don’t you know, Ryan? Nothing could ever change the way I feel about you. Not cowardly boys, not stupid, mindless idiots who believed a lie, nothing. I love you more than anything.”

He smiled at Ryan’s wide eyes, red from crying, along with his nose, lips kiss swollen, hair a mess. He was beautiful. Jake sat back down on the swing, pulling Ryan down to straddle him. He snaked his arms around that slim waist, pulling him as close as he could. Ryan’s head fell to his shoulder, and he kissed his way into Jake’s neck. Licking and kissing his way up from his collarbone to behind his ear before wrapping both arms around Jake’s neck and assaulting his mouth.

He could kiss Jake for hours. Sometimes he did. But he had other things on his mind besides kissing right now. He pulled back to look at his ravaged boyfriend, satisfied by the dazed expression on his face. It made him proud that he was the one to put it there.

“You say the most amazing, completely breathtaking things to me. That’s some mouth you have on you, Mr. Evans! And it’s all mine.” He gently bit Jake’s lower lip before teasing his way into his mouth.

Jake’s hand explored Ryan’s back before sliding down to slip under the waistband of his jeans, a little disappointed that this was not one of the many days Ryan went commando. He ran his hands up his back, pushing off his shirt as he went, before curling his hands around Ryan’s shoulders from behind. He pulled him back, kissing down his throat, nibbling his way across his shoulder, using he hands to pull him higher so he could suck a nipple into his mouth. He could feel the moans vibrating out of Ryan’s chest, and he knew he would never get tired of that sound.

“Babe, I think we should move this somewhere more, uhm, stable, don’t you?” Ryan nodded, but he was c
learly not happy with being made to move.

“Come on, upstairs. I’ll make it worth your while, promise.” Ryan knew that Jake kept his promises. He got up, helped Jake up and then pulled his shirt off, dropping it on the swing. He fastened his mouth to a pink nipple, biting it before licking away the pain.

“Tell me again why we converted the bedroom downstairs to an office? A bed in there would have been real convenient.”

Jake groaned. “Because, oh fuck, that feels good, we needed… shit… a place to do… ngh… paperwork.” He finally grunted the answer out, but Ryan wasn’t listening anymore. He pulled off, grabbed Jake’s hand, and pulled him in the door. They weren’t making it up to the bedroom tonight.

  Chapter 21

Jake looked over at Ryan, sitting beside him in the truck, and he could feel the tension rolling off him in waves. It had been getting worse in the two days since they left, and was now to the point that he was hardly speaking at all. It was a very unusual way for Ryan to act.

They had decided to drive from Wyoming to Illinois, wanting the time for Ryan to prepare himself mentally. They made arrangements with Ben, and he was going to have a couple of his hands look after the horses until they got back, for a good bonus, of course. Ben was still feeling a little guilty about Jake getting hurt, and because he wouldn’t take any money as compensation for it, Ben was continually doing favors for them. Against their will, sometimes. But Jake knew they needed to make this trip, and this time, he was grateful for the help.

He reached over and rubbed the back of Ryan’s neck, and although Ryan didn’t say anything, he leaned into the touch, and that was enough to make Jake smile.

  “You okay?”

Ryan nodded. “I’m looking forward to seeing everyone. God, Jake, I miss them so much.”

“I know, but you’re going to be seeing them soon. In about forty-five minutes, in fact. You wanna drive? You know the way.”

“No, I’m not sure I should be behind the wheel. I’m a little nervous.”
