He nodded and said, “Stand up.”

She nodded, too, doing as she was told. She loved the strength in his voice and the desire in his eyes, as well as the slow, subtle curl of a smile that told her it was all a game. That in itself made it worth the trip. “Go in my room and take your clothes off, then lie face down on my bed.”

She shivered with delight. The thought of preparing herself for him, then offering herself to him, somehow exciting Sage more than any of the countless fantasies she’d had about their first night back together.

“What will you do?” she asked from the doorway.

He reached for the last of his wine, smirking. “I’ll just sit here for a minute, thinking of what to do with you.”

  Chapter 14

  Derek

Derek put the empty wine glass down and rose, already hard. No, not just hard – stiff. He couldn’t remember being so hard, and wondered if it had more to do with the thought of Sage naked and submissive in his bed, or the thought of her kissing another man.

He had to admit, he’d been pissed off when she told him – for about five seconds. Then he thought of the many ways he’d sinned with young Colby, over and over again, and wiped the thought from his mind. Still, Sage seemed so contrite and upset; he couldn’t just let her off the hook that easily.

And now, unbuttoning his dress shirt and sliding it off his shoulders, his heart fairly hammered with anticipation. He kicked off his shoes and tugged off his socks, unbuckling his belt and unzipping his pants before dragging them down, then off, his ankles. He tugged off his boxers already damp with delight, and tossed them onto the rough pile of clothes that hung from the nearest armrest of the couch.

He pushed open the bedroom door, licking his lips in anticipation, breath catching in his throat to see Sage lying naked and prone on his bed. Her long, lean body was awash with the light from the living room but he wanted to see more: Every nook and cranny, every twist and curl, every drizzle of juice and delight as it seeped from her tender, weeping slit.

He uttered not a word as he transferred the candles she had lit from the living room to his bedroom, enjoying the way she lay face down in the sheets, so eager and willing to do his bidding.

They’d never done it like this before, and suddenly he wondered why. He couldn’t remember ever being so turned on, and it wasn’t just Sage’s soft, tender back or the subtle rise of her ripe, silken ass. Perhaps it was their silence, the absence of their usual laughing and joking, smiling and tenderness. The room felt and smelled like sex – and he figured that was just what they both needed now more than ever.

As the warm, rosy glow of half-a-dozen jar candles illuminated her glistening skin, Derek knelt between her thighs. He could feel the vibrations wafting off her trembling body and, as he gripped the back of her thighs, she flinched, murmuring softly.

Or maybe that was just him. He gently spread her legs wider as he crept closer, inhaling her fragrant musk, so rich and ripe and familiar. He bent to her, peppering each round, quivering flank with tender kisses. She whimpered and moaned as he squeezed her right ass cheek. He swatted it, playfully, watching the skin ripple gently before smacking it again. It grew pink and warm beneath his touch and with each slight swat, she gasped and panted, wriggling beneath him as she ground her thick mound into his dirty sheets.

As he shifted gears and lightly patted the virgin territory of her left cheek, Derek slid his right hand between her legs. Sage wasn’t just moist; she was dripping. He had never felt her so wet and that included when they went surfing together!

She arched her ass to meet his fingers and, as he found her clit swollen and throbbing and ripe, he pressed the tip of his index finger against it to watch her buck and writhe and tremble. His own cock throbbed and drooled in response, never more so than when he helped her on to all fours and slid a finger on either side of her clit, hearing her gasp with delight and shudder with desire.

Derek knelt behind her, his left hand resting on her back for support as his right two fingers cradled her clit, inching slowly along either side as it began to tremble and throb. The heat from between her legs grew immense and Derek felt the joy of bringing her pleasure in a new and unexpected way.

She whimpered and moaned, each passionate cry made his own member leap and leak with desire and anticipation. “Yes,” she murmured, grinding back and forth along his fingers as he felt her tremors intensify and burst forth. “Oh. God. YES!”

She came in a great, blinding burst of heat and moisture and sound, moaning and panting and dripping with sweat. He rode out the first wave, holding her in place as she bucked and cursed and drizzled a rich, creamy icing all over his patient fingers.

When her violent tremors had at last subsided, he gently ground his long, eager fingers alongside her throbbing bud and pleasured her once, twice, three times more before she finally inched forward. Collapsing onto her chest, body slick and damp, legs and ass trembling, hair damp and voice tiny as she begged, “Please, Derek, I’d like to walk again sometime this week!”

“Not if I have anything to do with it,” he teased as he rested his hands on either side of her waist and slid his cock along the crack of her trembling, sweaty ass. She murmured and he panted and when it was coated with her sweat and his pre-come, he slid lower, until the tip of his eager cock met the swell of her plump, wrinkled labia.

She spread her legs wider and arched herself until he slid inside, the warm heat enveloping his greedy cock as it inched deeper and deeper inside her tight, clinging lips. He had missed that feeling, in more ways than one, and wished he’d known about her surprise visit. Not only to avoid the embarrassment of being caught dancing with Angel, but so that he might have jerked off a few times first. Now he was so tender and eager, so sensitive and raw, he knew it would only be a few moments before he comes as gloriously, if not so often, as she had!

He focused and plowed into her, heavy and deep, as she spread and arched and rose to meet him. Her silence was as sexy as her dirty talk earlier, and now he listened only to the rush of breath that left her mouth each time he slid deep inside, and the wet, sticky squish of each gliding inch of his straining cock.

Despite his sensitivity and joy at being buried eight inches deep inside Sage, Derek managed to thrust and pump her into another throbbing orgasm, the heat and vibrations forcing his to the surface as the warmth and tenderness found him unable to hold off any longer.

Desperately he slid from her and as she writhed beneath him, still trembling from her latest climax, he ground his dripping cock between her shiny, wet cheeks and came gloriously, thickly and dramatically across her sweaty back. He grunted with the release, its force unprecedented as his sticky goo clung to the curl of damp hair along her shoulder blades.

He sagged down atop of her, grinding his splattered prick between her glistening ass cheeks, milking himself onto the small of her back as the pulses drained to a drizzle. At last he rolled from her, lying on his side as he slid his finger through the goo splattered all across her back. She still trembled, as did he. Turning to face him, her smile was besotted, lips thick and eyes half-lidded with satisfaction. “I’m not sure I’ve been punished enough,” she murmured, batting her eyes at him.

“Hell no,” he chuckled, slapping her ass one last time for good measure and watching the wave of appreciation tremor through her entire body. “We’re just getting started, you little tramp.”

She giggled, turning on her side and allowing Derek to feast on her small, boyish breasts, nipples stiff as two erasers as her flat belly quivered and her damp bush glistened. “I was hoping you’d say that. How long do you think my punishment will take?”

He chuckled, gliding his hand along the soft, sensitive curve of her hip. “When do you leave?”

  “Sunday morning,” she sighed.

“Till at least then,” he chuckled. “And I don’t think we’ll be able to leave the house for the duration.”

“Good thing I brought food,” she said, noddi
ng energetically and playing along. “How do you think our supplies will hold out?”

“Well,” he sighed, “a bag full of Hamburger Hut on the kitchen table, three slices of pizza and a six pack in the fridge, two bottles of wine on the counter and a box of candy that one of my students gave me for Thanksgiving, I think we should be okay.”

“And if we run out,” she said, sliding her hand between his legs to find his cock, still coated in goo, “we can always live on love.”

He nodded, thickening despite the massive orgasm. She felt it, too, encouraging it with her tender hands, using his come as lube until it grew and stiffened within her hands.

“Here,” she said, offering him her finger, the tip glossy with his spum. “For a little energy.”

Shrinking back from her offer, Sage shook the finger and slid it in her own mouth, puckering her lips around it as she licked it clean and, when she was done, reached down to stroke him some more. Returning with the same fingertip coated in spum, she offered it once more.

This time he winked and slid it into his mouth, sucking his musky, fragrant come from her finger as her breath began to quicken and her own scent once more ignited, filling the room with the cue that it was time to “punish” her once more.

“You really did miss me, huh tiger?” she asked, inching down to press tender kisses against his swollen, purple tip.

“More than you’ll ever know,” he gasped, shuddering as Sage took him deep, rendering him speechless once more.

  Chapter 15

  Sage

Sage finished arranging the votive candles on the bar top and stepped back frowning to admire them. Nodding at last, she sipped chastely at her glass of champagne, pacing herself, and rearranged the plate of bakery petit fours again. Then once more.

“Quit it,” she chuckled to herself, promptly ignoring her advice as she proceeded to adjust – again – the volume on her reggae Christmas playlist as steel drums lilted through a mellow version of “Silver Bells”.

The room smelled fragrant from the scented votive candles, the room flickering and alive with the scents of sugar cookies and warm vanilla, spicy cinnamon and fresh balsam pine.

An artificial tree – Sage wasn’t sure if Derek was allergic to the real kind or not – towered in the living room corner, seven feet tall and bedecked with clear white lights, casting twinkling shadows on the beach-themed ornaments she’d been picking up at Barbara’s Boutique on the way home from work every night: Flamingos in Santa caps and crabs with candy canes in their claws and frothy plastic margarita glasses for filler. Stockings hung from the bookshelf in the corner, filled with surf wax and sunscreen and coconut scented lip balm, his favorite. A smattering of presents lay beneath the tree, token gifts for something to open on Christmas morning. She planned to give him his real present in bed, one he could open and re-open all week long.

Blushing at the thought, Sage sampled a chocolate-covered strawberry and washed the decadent dessert down with a small sip of bubbly. Both tasted divine, perhaps because she’d been too busy decorating all day to grab anything to eat.

Now her sumptuous buffet topped the counter like something out of a caterer’s spread: Pate and brie, sushi and sake, toast points and fresh fruit and cheeses, mini cheesecakes, petit fours and dark chocolate-covered strawberries. She hoped he would like it and, checking the clock on the microwave oven, swallowed hard. She’d find out in a few minutes, Derek having just texted her that he was getting off the turnpike and barreling toward Seaside as fast as he could.

Sage gulped once more, set her glass aside and did a quick tour of Derek’s seaside cottage. It had been years since she’d decorated, and the first time she’d ever decorated someone else’s house – especially when they weren’t around to guide her!

And to do it all in one day! She’d wanted more time, but with Derek in California she’d done him the favor of renting out his beach house while he was gone. She’d done fairly well, and the multiple flyers all over town, but in particular in Sequels, didn’t hurt much. From August to December she’d managed to have several families come in and out, some for a weekend, others for a week, one family for a whole month.

They’d just left that morning! Now she stood, casual but classy – she hoped! – in a maroon crinkle dress and soft grey tank top, shimmery and slinky and hugging her frame. Black velvet flats graced her feet and, in her ponytail, a silver snowflake barrette she’d given to herself as an early Christmas present.

As she paced the floor, smirking at the reggae version of “Here Comes Santa Claus,” Sage was equal parts nervous, excited, giddy and cautious. Their weekend love fest over Thanksgiving had left her not only sore, but satisfied that her sins – and his – had finally been forgiven.

Perhaps she’d kissed Craig not just because she’d wanted to, but because she felt entitled to. Maybe it was a passive aggressive trick, designed to “get back” at Derek for his little misadventure with Colby. Either way, she was glad both were in the past and now she and Derek could spend a carefree Christmas together, without a care in the world.

She saw headlights in the driveway and beamed as doors opened and shut. She whisked open the front door just in time to see Derek waving at the airport shuttle driver. He wore a Santa cap, jaunty on his surfer curls, and leapt up the steps to embrace her, showering her in kisses as they stumbled into the foyer, breathless and chuckling and relieved.

“Smells awesome,” he beamed, leaving his bags in the hallway and following her into the kitchen. “Wow, I don’t know where to begin!”

“Wherever you want,” she said, sliding the champagne bottle from the bucket and topping off their glasses. “But first, a toast.”

He smirked and clinked her glass. “To us,” he said.

  “To happy holidays,” she added.

“To us having happy holidays,” he piled on. She smiled and sipped and watched him feast, enjoying the choices she made and savoring each one dramatically. “God, I feel like I’ve been ‘in’ college with the shitty way I’ve been eating this semester. You think Southern California would have better food!”

“You’ve lost weight,” she said, marveling at her lover’s youth. Derek was so mature in some ways and yet, when she looked at him sometimes, he seemed a little more than a boy. Now, swimming in gray shorts and a soft navy pullover, he looked all of fifteen.

“Just muscle,” he grunted around another petit four. “I can’t wait to surf tomorrow.”

“I wish it was earlier,” she sighed as they drifted toward the living room. “We could have gone tonight.”

“No worries,” he said, smirking as he set down his glass of champagne. “We’ll have an early night and do dawn patrol and… holy shit what have you done to the place?!!?”

He marveled, as if suddenly noticing the shimmering tree and flickering candles, the stockings and snowmen and garland and treats. “You like it?” she squealed, slapping her hands together excitedly.

“I love it,” he said, wandering around the room like a little boy, squeezing the stockings and peeking inside, rattling every present and sniffing every candle and tapping every ornament. “I was so excited to see you on the front stoop,” he said, “I couldn’t see anything else.”

“That’s how it should be.” He wandered around a little more, savoring every sight, beaming and sighing contentedly, until they found themselves on the deck. She’d lit the chiminea despite the unseasonal warmth, and stocked a small cooler with beer knowing the champagne was just an appetizer.

“I’m running out of toasts to make,” he said, clinking her freshly opened beer bottle with his own.

“You can always toast to love,” she sighed, sipping the fragrant holiday brew.

“I haven’t yet?” he chuckled, setting his bottle down on top of the deck railing. “Where are my manners? Come here,” he said, dragging her close and setting her bottle next to his. “To love,” he said, smothering her in a warm, gentle kiss. And then one more. “To our love.”
<
br />   She sighed and rested her head on his chest. The music paused before the lilt of steel drums followed them out onto the deck, a mellow version of “White Christmas” inspiring Derek to gently sway in time with the tune.

And so they danced, the moonlight high above, their bodies entwined, the crash of the ocean a distant, constant soundtrack to their bare, shuffling feet. Sage felt the quiet thrum of desire building in her body but didn’t press it. After all, they had the rest of the year to reignite the passion that had burned so brightly before he left.

  Chapter 16

  Derek

“Come on,” Derek chuckled impatiently, waving at Sage as she lingered inside the bedroom. “You’ll miss the countdown.”

“Jesus,” she panted, fixing the little foil tiara on her head as she joined him on the narrow widow’s walk outside the master bedroom upstairs. “We could see it just as well from downstairs, you know?”

“Come on sour sport,” he teased her, showing off the fresh bottle of bubbly he’d been chilling all night. “It’s our first New Year in the house, I want to do it right.”

“Where did this come from?” she asked, noting not just the bucket but the wicker basket full of noisemakers and horns on the corner railing.

“I’ve been planning this all day, geez,” he chuckled, dragging two plastic glasses from the basket and filling them for a midnight toast.

  “More champagne?” she asked.

“Lighten up,” he said, sipping eagerly. “The store’s closed tomorrow, the surf’s supposed to be chop, we’ve got no reason to do anything but lie in bed all day, screwing our hangovers away.”

“Wait,” she chuckled, slightly buzzed and face aglow in the Christmas lights she’d wound around the balcony for Christmas. “I thought… that’s what we were going to do tonight.”

“Yeah, but it’s going to be morning in,” he checked the waterproof watch on his wrist, “four minutes! So… what’s the difference?”
