"Well, don't take too long, okay?" he said, then flashed her a smile.
His smiles were too much; she grinned back at him and hurried to her condo to dispose of the syringe properly. Returning to his bedroom, she shut the sliding glass door behind her and crawled back into his bed.
"Now can we take these off?" He tugged at her swimsuit bottoms and the t-shirt.
"Yes," she whispered, barely getting the word out before he had her bottoms off and on the floor and was tugging at the t-shirt.
Trina laughed softly, and naked again, snuggled in next to Sam, wrapping her body around him. She ran her finger lightly over his tattoos. There was something about a guy with tattoos. She thought they were sexy. A sentimental work of art on a permanent canvas. It was almost poetic.
"So, Sam," she started to say as she traced his abs and pecks, her head lying on his chest. "...your hockey tattoos, what's the deal with them?" After sleeping with him, she should at least leave knowing who he was.
"Because I play hockey," he answered matter of factly.
"You play hockey?" she repeated like a myna bird. He plays hockey?
"I do. In San Jose." His eyes stayed half lidded and a sexy smile crept over his face. She squinted and laughed nervously, still not sure who he was. "Sam Morris. You know, number 7? I was rookie of the year my very first season in the league?"
Trina just looked up at him trying to place the face with the name. She only saw the other teams when they played Winnipeg, so she didn't see San Jose often.
"I play for the Crushers." He waited for her to connect him with his professional hockey team.
"That explains the tattoos." She said. It figures she would be in bed with a hockey player. Her brother, Tyler, had one rule, she was not to date professional hockey players. He made that clear as soon as he was drafted. However, after the insane orgasms Sam just gave her, her brother could shove his goddamn rule. She wanted more of Sam.
She rolled on top of Sam, kissing his hard chest, her blonde hair falling to one shoulder. Her hair tickled his skin as she softly kissed his chest. She whispered against his skin with a smile, "My brother is going to kill me."
Sam snapped out of the fog of pleasure he was in long enough to be curious. "Your brother? Why? Who's your brother?"
Before he could finish his thought, Trina continued to kiss down his stomach, her warm body moving along his, as she tasted every inch of him. He could feel how wet she was as she positioned herself onto his hips. His hard-on returned in full force. Leaning his head back in pleasure, she slid her moist center down onto his awaiting erection. Sam let out a soft groan as he wrapped his large hands around her hips, holding her tight against his middle.
She had no plans to stay the night, and she probably should've left already, but, oh hell the sex was fucking amazing, and she wanted more.
Sam held her hips as he pushed himself up into a sitting position. "Not so fast this time, baby. I promise you that." He lifted her so she again was over his hips. Sliding back into her, making her moan loudly, he buried himself deep inside of her. "You are so beautiful," he whispered, running his fingers through her hair. Grabbing a handful, he tugged, making her cry out in excitement.
"Not so much talking," she whispered just before he flipped her over onto the bed. With a low grunt he thrust himself deep inside of her.
Holding the headboard with one hand, Sam used the other to caress her breasts, taking care to show both attention. He concentrated on her reaction to his touch, continuing to caress her breasts and play with her nipples. She liked how he played with her, tugging at her nipples just hard enough.
He slowed his pace, and it made her ache for more. "Don't stop," she said, whining.
"Not yet," he growled, rolling off of her and propping her up onto his hips.
He guided her as she positioned herself just right on his hips, sliding his length inside her. She wanted to feel him thrust into her, but he paused. She tilted her head back and shut her eyes, feeling his teeth scrape her nipple. She wanted him so badly, she started to grind against his hips, taking it upon herself, moving him into her more.
He sucked hard at her nipple, then replaced his lips with his fingers. The playful tweak of his fingers sent warmth surging through her body. She shivered as his lips brushing against her shoulder. Sam continued to tug at her enlarged nipples, taking her to heights of pleasure that made her body demand to orgasm
"What do you want, baby?" he whispered in a deep voice, with a small smile on his face. "Tell me what you want. I want to hear her say it."
Trina was on the verge of orgasm and she wanted it so badly. She leaned over to his ear, brushing his jaw with her warm lips. A slight moan escaped her. "Fuck me. Make me come now, please," she whispered into his ear, almost begging.
She moved back slightly and he took over her mouth with his. Grabbing her shoulders, he held her tight to him as he thrust hard inside of her. His pace quickened and intensified as he held her tight to him. Sweat dripped down his back. His lips moved softly against hers. Their tongues tangled.
Her body was on fire. He filled her to the hilt but she still wanted more. She raked her nails down his back. Her nails bit into his skin. She wanted him to explode inside of her. She was ready to start begging until finally he slammed into her hard.
His fingertips held her hips tight onto his so he could be as deep inside her as possible. Finally, at his breaking point, he was not able to hold back anymore.
"Ready baby?" he whispered.
"God yes!"
He yanked on her hair and pushed her body hard onto his dick.
She let out a loud groan against his lips as he came long and hard inside her. Her body trembled violently. He still held her tightly against him, still grinding against her wanting her to feel every last bit of pleasure. Finally she fell limp against him. She looked up at his smile as he lay back on the bed, taking her in his arms. He kissed her on the forehead, and they drifted to sleep.
CHAPTER 8
Trina did not expect to be sitting here, eating lunch with Sam. But walking out after last night didn't seem right. She wasn't ready for a relationship, but liked having him around to talk to. He was so sweet to her when she told him about her MS.
The dogs, both tied at their feet, were lying down trying to catch a quick nap.
"What's going on in that brain of yours, beautiful?" Sam asked from across the table. He took a bite of his burger as he waited for an answer.
"Nothing," She lied.
He shook his head, trying not to laugh with a mouth full of food. "There is one thing I would like to know about you, Trina," he said before taking another bite of food.
"And what's that, Sam Morris, mister San Jose Crusher?" She laughed.
"Your last name." He said, smoothing some hair behind her ear.
"That's easy. It's Kidd. Trina Kidd."
"Trina Kidd from Canada?"
"Trina Kidd from Manitoba. To be exact, Winnipeg." She smiled.
Sam started to put things together. She used to sing at Winnipeg games and her family was a hockey family. He knew exactly who her brother was now.
Her brother was his old friend, Tyler Kidd; he played in the juniors with him. "Trina Kidd. Why exactly is Tyler going to kill you?" he asked, mentioning that little thing she brought up before they had a third go around in bed last night.
"Wait, how do you know who my brother is?" She wasn't prepared for that.
"Because I played juniors with him. And I remember him talking about his two sisters all the time. I didn't remember their names, but I did know they were T-names. We've been friends for years. I also remember him swearing the day he got drafted with Pittsburgh, that he would never allow his sister to date a hockey player... isn't that right Trina?" His smile was evil and delicious.
She studied his lips and wanted to kiss the smile he had plastered on his face. Ty's rule didn't mean shit to her. Not after she got so wrapped up in the hot sex last night.
"Yes, th
at's right. But I am a big girl. I don't need my little brother watching out for me anymore."
"Oh, does that mean you're coming back for more?" he said sinfully.
She had not thought past this very moment. She didn't know if she would be back for more. "Actually, I don't really know." Her smile faded. It all seemed so easy last night. Now faced with reality, she wasn't sure about anything.
"What the hell does that mean?" he snapped.
"It means that I didn't expect anymore than last night." She got up from the table to throw away her empty plate.
Trina stood by the garbage can for a minute. She didn't mean to say that so rude. She really did like him. Before she could turn back around, she heard Sam walk up behind her.
She spun around to face him. Disappointment showed on her face, she just might have ruined whatever this was that they had. "Dammit! I didn't mean..." She didn't even know what to say.
"I know," he said softly.
He looked hurt, and that made her feel bad. She glanced over at the dogs; they were still sound asleep.
Leaning back against the wall of the burger place, she started to try to explain herself. "Sam," she began, but he put a finger to her lips to silence her.
"Trina, I didn't expect you to be there this morning either. But I was glad that you were." The corner of his mouth turned up.
"I really like you, Sam," she said. Her body threatened to tremble under his sexy stare. Straightening her shoulders a bit she regained her composure.
"I like you too, Trina. I never thought I could feel this way until I met you. So?" Sam didn't want to scare her off, but he didn't want to let her go either. His body ached as he watched her stand there, so strong and confident. She was certainly not weak, and that turned him on.
Trina's body was tingling being so close to him; she needed a distraction. She watched his jaw twitch as she talked. His thin lips still smiling, she wanted to kiss them. She saw Toby get up, so she brushed by Sam and walked back to the table. "Hey, boy, relax."
Joining her back at the table, Sam questioned her. "Trina?" His smile gone from his face. His eyes darkened, were fixed on her.
His gorgeous face was distracting. His thin lips begged to be kissed. Her body warmed and her pulse quickened. Her body begged for him again. A moment of clarity shone through her lust filled desires.
"Sam, I'm just not ready for a relationship. I'm just not. I didn't even think that I wanted one, until you. I'm just not ready yet."
"What about a friend? I can be that. I want to be that." Taking her hand in his, he added, "So talk to me."
"I'm curious about something. Why had it been so long since you had sex? I mean you are a goddamn hockey player!" Not to mention drop dead fucking gorgeous. "Don't you have puck sluts falling all over you?"
She didn't like the thought of puck bunnies being all over him, even though this was probably just a one night thing. If she was being honest with herself, she wanted more than that one night.
"No. I don't go for the puck sluts. Remember I told you about my niece? Well, her daddy passed away right after she was born. I helped my sister, Amy, raise her and she became my pride and joy. The love I felt for that little girl blindsided me. I spent every extra minute I had with her.
I was still enjoying the life of a hockey player, a different girl every night and tossing them out as soon as I had my fun. Until one day, I was trying to hook up with a fan who was hanging outside my house. I had Morgan for the day. Long story short, when my back was turned, the girl took Morgan without telling me. I was frantic and once I found them, tore into her like no one's business. I made her cry something awful. After that I had two priorities, one was hockey, and the other was Amy and Morgan."
"So, the great Sam Morris went without girls for...how long?" she asked, prying.
"Too long." He ended that conversation with a smile. Pausing for a moment, his brow furrowed as if he wanted to ask her something. Standing up, he held out his hand to her. "Well, I'm ready for a run, how about you, friend?"
"Sure," Trina answered, then she smiled.
****
"Okay, okay. You win!" Sam yelled as they raced down the boardwalk. "You won sweet thing, damn!" he panted. "Holy hell am I out of shape!" he complained to himself. "Maybe I need to lay off the cheeseburgers."
"Yeah, I thought so," Trina gloated and danced with her hands in the air. "I win!" She wasn't even winded as she watched Sam trying to catch his breath. His strong arm muscles rippled as he moved. She wanted to be in those arms again. Damn, why did she shoot him down earlier? "Why don't you come over for a beer?"
"Yeah, sounds great, thanks." He smiled at her.
Trina unlocked her door as her cell phone rang. "It's my sister, Talia." She led the way to the kitchen as she talked to her sister. Handing Sam a beer she said, "Talia, I don't really know what my plans are. Because, I just don't know, that's why. I might stay down here...I like the coast. Being on the beach is amazing... because I like it here...I'm a big girl, Tal, if I want to stay in the states then it's my business. Look, I will let you know, bye, Talia..." She hung up the cell phone abruptly and rolled her eyes.
"Everything okay?" Sam asked.
"No. But it will be. She wants me to come back to her house in Banff after my 'vacation' is over." She used air quotes to emphasize vacation. "She thinks I'm still going to live with them. But, I have no intentions of going back there."
She took a long satisfying sip of beer. After a minute she changed the subject. "So, you remember when I said I just need a friend right now?"
"Yeah, and I said I was willing to be your friend. I meant it. Why?"
"Well, I was thinking..." She looked at him with a sinful grin.
Sam liked the playful grin she gave him. He moved towards her, causing her to back up against the kitchen counter. He put his beer down and his laid his hands on either side of her hips.
His strong arms trapped her against the counter, and she liked it. His hips lightly pressing against hers. Her body was on fire and Trina knew that she couldn't resist him.
"What were you thinking?" His devilish grin was back.
"I was thinking, what about friends with benefits?" she said, smiling.
Sam nodded, not taking his eyes off her. "Yeah, I could definitely handle that."
The thought of him fucking her again had her wet already. The way that he had her pinned against the counter, she wanted him to take her right here. Her ass was pressed against the cupboards. His hard erection, held hostage in his shorts, pressed against her.
"Sounds perfect to me," he growled, squeezing her.
"Oh, and why is that?" she said, teasing.
"Cause I was hoping you'd come home with me again tonight." He started to kiss down her neck.
"Huh, I'm not sure about that," she said, giggling at the look he gave her and how his face fell.
"What?" He shot her a pointed look.
"I was actually hoping you would spend the night here, instead."
Smiling as he sighed in relief, he grabbed her and pulled her close. "C'mere you!" His mouth came down hard on hers.
CHAPTER 9
"Breakfast!" Sam called as he entered her bedroom. "Well good morning, beautiful."
She rolled over and rubbed her eyes. "Breakfast?" she asked.
"Yeah, I went for a run to let Belle out and saw the taco stand open for breakfast. I got us some breakfast burritos." He flashed a sexy smile.
Trina sat up in bed, pushing her hair out of her eyes. "I must look a mess."
"Never," he said, grinning at her as he handed her a burrito still wrapped in its paper. "And a coffee." He placed a cup on the nightstand. "I wasn't sure what you preferred. So I got you a regular coffee with cream and sugar on the side." Sam grabbed one of her t-shirts off the chair and tossed it on the bed incase she wanted to cover up. Secretly he hoped she wouldn't.
"Thanks." She set the burrito on the nightstand and grabbed the cup. "Smells delicious." Closing her eyes she too
k in the aroma. Trina emptied the sugar and creamer into the cup and then took a long sip of the hot liquid. "Again, thanks. For future reference, since we're friends, I like any coffee with caramel or vanilla." Setting the coffee back down she reached for the burrito.
"I've been thinking about you not wanting to go back to Canada," Sam started to say, then took a bite of burrito. He sat and chewed for a moment, gathering his thoughts. He wasn't sure if he should say this, but he was the one who brought it up. Flashing her a smile he continued. "I was thinking, if you wanted to extend your vacation, you should come back to San Jose with me." After he said it, she was silent. He wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing. It had sounded like a good idea in his head. Did he ruin a good thing by suggesting it?
Trina sat silent, sipping her coffee. She held the cup in front of her face as if to hide any expression.
Sam examined his burrito, then took another big bite. What did he really expect her to say to that? They sat in awkward silence. Once he finished the mouthful he had taken, he put on a fake smile.
"I have to go back in a few days. Not that I want to. But I need to get back to working out, and of course Morgan is missing me and Belle. Morgan is going to be out of school soon and I need to get back to help Amy." He knew he was just rambling at this point, but he chose to continue. "Amy works, so during the summer I help out and watch Morgan."
He didn't think that it was an awful idea. He hoped she would be excited at the thought of going home with him to the west coast. So far he wasn't sure what she thought. Wishing she would say something, anything at all, he waited. He wanted to continue this, whatever this was they were doing. But she had to agree to it first.
Finally after a long silence, Trina spoke. "I can call Tyler and see if he can loan me some money so I can pay my way?"
"No worries about money, please. I thought you could just stay at my place. I have spare rooms, and a couch." He paused. "Whatever you want." What he really wanted was her in his bed.
