  Vita studied in Falmouth – the sea is a deep inspiration and recurring metaphor in her illustrations. Both Cornwall and creative writing are close to her heart.

  ROB MAGNUSON SMITH

  Rob is the author of The Gravedigger and Scorper. Recently his short fiction was selected for a compilation of audio recordings by Jeremy Irons. He lives in Falmouth.

  KATHERINE STANSFIELD

  Katherine grew up on Bodmin Moor and now lives in Cardiff. Her debut poetry collection Playing House is published by Seren. Her new novel The Magpie Tree is out with Allison & Busby.

  EMMA STAUGHTON

  Emma was shortlisted for the Bristol Short Story Prize 2015 and longlisted for the Bath Short Story Award 2016. She holds an MA in Creative Writing from Plymouth University and has just completed a collection of contemporary Cornish-based stories.

  SARAH THOMAS

  Sarah traces her ancestry to women who worked the farmland of Penwith and is interested in our relationships with place and landscape. She is currently working on a collection of poetry.

  EMMA TIMPANY

  Emma was born and grew up in southern New Zealand. Her previous publications are the short story collections Over the Dam and The Lost of Syros. She lives near Truro.

  TOM VOWLER

  Tom’s debut story collection, The Method, won the Scott Prize, and his novels include What Lies Within and That Dark Remembered Day. His latest book, Dazzling the Gods, is out now.

  ELAINE RUTH WHITE

  Elaine writes for page, stage and broadcast and has worked on projects for English Touring Opera, Bike Shed Theatre and the BBC. She also writes non-fiction as Elaine Farrell.

  Telltales is a live literature event based in Falmouth, Cornwall and has been motivating, showcasing and inspiring writers in the South West since 2008.
