Pick Me (Wait for Me Series Book 2) Page 10

by Walters, Dawne

Gabe was sure to slide his body against hers until they were face to face. Then, he leaned down and kissed her passionately. She could taste herself on his lips. She’d never thought she’d really cared for a guy to do that, but with Gabe she really liked it. It was naughty, just how he made her feel. His tongue sought hers out, licked at her lips and slid along her tongue to taste her. When he pulled back slowly, his teeth sank gently into her bottom lip then released it. He smiled as he went to get up and maneuvered around her to prop up on the next next flight of steps.

Colette rolled over and crawled up the steps until her face was level with his crotch. Her hands slid up his legs and stopped when she reached his hard cock. She looked up at Gabe and smiled before she looked down at his cock and saw the fluid leaking from the tip. She didn’t grab his cock with her hand. She licked it, just the tip. Gabe fell against the stairs and groaned. His elbows that were holding him up on the stairs collapsed under him as her tongue touched him. Opening her mouth wider, Colette slid down his cock until the tip hit the muscle in the back of her throat making her gag and her mouth flood with saliva.

She started a slow rhythm at first. His cock held in a tight fist now as her mouth came down on him. Her hand meeting her mouth as she took as much of him as she could without gagging and throwing up on him. She covered her teeth with her lips and slid up and down that way too, earning a tight fist in her hair. She could feel his hips bump up to meet her mouth as she slid down his length. Trying to take more of him than ever, she loosened her jaw a little and was able to take another inch. She stopped and breathed in, smelling the musk that was Gabe. He was heady and she wanted to bury her face in him. Slowly releasing him, she heard his groan of pleasure.

“You do that again...” Gabe groaned, his eyes closed, “...I swear I’ll cum down your throat.” His breathing became erratic as Colette started again.

She could feel that he was near. His cock seemed to get bigger in her mouth, his breathing hitched higher, and the fist in her hair was pushing and pulling her head in a rhythm with his hips. His other hand had a hold of the railing to give him the leverage that he needed to push up into her mouth.

“Colette...I’m...yeah, baby,” Gabe couldn’t configure a sentence properly.

She slid him out of her mouth and looked up at him.

“I want you to come in my mouth,” Then, she slid back over his cock and started in a relentless rhythm. After a moment she started to hum on his dick.

Gabe’s hips weren’t even touching the steps anymore. He kept pushing upward each time. Trying to get deeper. The velvety warmth of her mouth, the suction...and oh for the love of God, when she started humming, the vibrations made his whole body twitch. He could feel his orgasm start in his balls and shoot straight out the tip of his engorged cock. He felt like all of his energy and everything else left his body at the same time. He could feel the suction each time she swallowed his cum down her throat.

Finally spent, his hand left her hair. His other hand fell to the stairs, and his body collapsed against the scratchy carpet. His head was on the floor of the second story. His eyes were closed and his breathing was heavy.

“Amante.” It was all he could say as his one hand moved to her shoulder.

Colette released his cock from her mouth. She looked down at it, still hard and shiny from her saliva. She slid up his body like he’d done to her. Only, she kissed her way up his abdomen and chest. She kissed his neck and chin, straight up to his lips and stopped not knowing if he’d kiss her after having his cum in her mouth.

  “Kiss me,” he whispered.

She took his mouth gently at first, soft kisses on his lips, even when he opened his mouth for her tongue. She didn’t dive in to claim him. Finally, Gabe took control. His hand moved to the back of her head, and he captured her mouth with his. His tongue sliding into her mouth, tasting him on her lips and the lingering taste of her from where he’d kissed her. When she pulled back, she licked his bottom lip and smiled as he opened his eyes.

“I couldn’t wait. Sorry.” Gabe smiled back at her.

“That’s okay. I’ll never look at stairs as utilitarian ever again.”

“What do you say, we use the bed this next time,” Gabe suggested with a seductive smile on his face.

“Good idea,” Colette agreed as she slid off of Gabe and crawled up the few steps to the second floor.

To the left, Brock’s door was closed, but the door that once dubbed ‘the Room’ was open, and empty, from what she could see from where she stood. She walked over to it and saw that it was. Everything was cleaned out. It was repainted in the contractor’s cream that the rest of the townhouse was painted in. She felt Gabe’s body up against her and his arms slide around her waist.

  “What happened?” Colette asked.

“I took it all out after you came back,” Gabe answered, kissing her shoulder.

  “Why?”

“The memories of that room weren’t the ones of you that I wanted.”

“We could have made new ones.”

“I don’t want our memories to revolve around a room. I can tie you to my bed and fuck you there and eat your pussy any time I want. I can put in a hook in my room and have your arms tied up and extended anywhere. That room...what I’d done after you left....I just couldn’t do it anymore.”

“Such a dirty mouth,” Colette smirked at him.

“I think I should use your body to clean it up,” he smirked back.

  “I think you should.”

He scooped her up and walked into his bedroom and made slow, sweet love to her. The second time, he’d tied her hands above her head with a tie that he had found in his drawer. They’d showered, and he fucked her up against the wall in there. After he’d dried them both off, they’d snuggled and fallen asleep.

  Chapter Fourteen

Addie woke up a little nauseous the next day.

Although Gabe was a little rough in his lovemaking last night, she felt fine when they finally fell asleep. She got up from his bed quietly and made her way to the bathroom. After taking care of her personal needs, she went to the sink to find that her toothbrush was still in the holder. She smiled as she took it, brushing her teeth. Making her way back into Gabe's bedroom, she looked around for something she could slip on to go get her clothes downstairs and get back to her house. She needed to shower again, and put on clean clothes and go to work for the afternoon shift.

"They are at the bottom of the bed, my side," Gabe said, pointing to her clothes in a groggy voice.

  Colette smiled. "Thanks."

"Leaving so soon?" he asked, sitting up, rubbing his eyes.

"I have the afternoon shift," Colette answered as she slid into her jeans commando. "I have to do a short inventory of the bar before the guy comes. So, I'm going in early."

"Grab a t-shirt from the dresser so that the step-monster doesn't give you shit."

  “Thanks."

Dressed, she made her way over to Gabe's side of the bed and leaned down to kiss him. It was light and sweet. She stood, traced his jaw with one of her fingers and winked at him.

"I'll see you later?" she asked tentatively.

"You can count on it," Gabe answered with a smile.

"Go back to sleep. It's only seven." Colette kissed him once more then made her way down stairs to her car.

  ______

Making her way around the back to where her door was, Colette noticed immediately that Clair's Lexus wasn't where it was usually parked. Thinking that maybe she'd gotten up early, or better yet, not come home at all, Colette just shook her head. What would it be like to actually be friends with Clair? It would be weird indeed, but, if Clair was willing to start over, who was Colette to refute her? Especially when she saw the pictures of the two of them in the parks in Savannah with their mothers. There was more of a story there than either of the young women knew, that was for sure.

There were so many questions about Amilie and Bunnie being friends. Odd that the Colonel
ended up with Bunnie after Amilie. Maybe it was because the two women were friends. Pushing that thought out of her mind, Colette got out of her car and felt a cramping in her lower abdomen. Shaking it off again, she went into her room, peeled her clothes off and went to shower. She calculated in her head that her period was due in the next week and a half. With all of the stress of Gabe being home and June's shenanigans, maybe she was going to start early.

Getting out of the shower, she dressed in a pair of clean shorts, McGruder's tank and decided to wear her Chuck Taylor's. She had a few minutes before she had to leave, so she applied a little bit of makeup for when Gabe came to see her. She was pulling her hair back into a bun when she was hit with a hard wave of nausea. Doubling over in front of the toilet dry heaving, she didn't have anything in her stomach to come up. When was the last time she'd eaten anything? Yesterday afternoon. Maybe that was the problem. She'd only snacked on some fries. That's what it was.

Washing her hands and finishing her hair, it was now almost nine o'clock. She had to take a quick inventory, so she had to be there at nine thirty. Feeling like she'd just run a marathon, Colette lay on her bed and held her stomach. Not wanting to risk running into Bunnie or the Colonel upstairs, she'd get crackers when she got to work. After about ten minutes, she felt better. She got up, locked her door, got into her car and pulled around to hit the street in time to see Lannie wave at her before she got into her friend's car.

Standing in McGruder's behind the bar, Colette was snacking on crackers and sipping water, while Meavy was making her a turkey sandwich; she heard a knock on the door. Turning around, she saw Lannie with her hands cupped over her eyes looking in. Walking over to the door, she let her sister in and looked around for her friend.

  "Where's your ride?" Colette asked.

"I was a diversion." Lannie answered as she closed the door behind her and turned the key that was in the lock.

Colette raised an eyebrow at Lannie. "What are you getting into?"

"It's what's getting into Candice." Lannie shrugged her shoulders.

“Do Bunnie and the Colonel know you are out and about?”

"Bunnie and the Colonel were on their way to who knows where and don’t care what’s going on with their daughters. So, it’s game on until they take an active interest."

"Ah." What could she say? She walked back behind the bar while Lannie took a seat and plopped her purse on top of it.

"Yeah, Chloe said that she and dad were up late with a few friends and smelled like alcohol yesterday when she went up to bed."

"Interesting," was all Colette could say before Meavy came out with a plate off a turkey sandwich and fries.

"Lovey!" Meavy exclaimed setting the plate down and taking Lannie into a big tight hug. "I haven't seen you in a long time. How are you lass? You've grown."

"Meavy!" Lannie returned her hug. "It's hard to get away. You know that."

"Let me make you lunch. Anything you want," Meavy offered.

"Roast beef and fries," Lannie answered.

"Hamish has a wonderful roast beef right now." She cupped Lannie's smiling face. "I'll be right back lass." Then Meavy turned to look at Colette, "You. Eat. Now." She pointed to the plate in front of her on the bar and walked away.

"Yes ma'am," Colette saluted and put the clipboard down, then dove into the turkey sandwich.

“I wish she was my mom,” Lannie said.

  "I know right," Colette replied.

A few minutes later, Meavy brought out a plate of food for Lannie and disappeared back into the kitchen. The sisters enjoyed an early lunch. Conversation turned to Lannie's friend Candice that was with her boyfriend at his house while his folks were away. Lannie was the decoy so that Candice's parents would let her take her car out. Even though Lannie only had her permit, Candice's parents wouldn't let her drive her car unless she was with another person at all times.

The other topic of conversation turned to how Clair and Colette seemed to be working on their relationship as sisters. Not knowing how much, if anything that Lannie knew, she decided to keep the pictures of Amilie and Bunnie picnicking together a secret. Lannie saw the change in Clair's demeanor toward Colette even if no one else in the house did. Yet, at dinner, Colette was still excluded by Bunnie and the Colonel. Status quo, even if the two older sisters were patching things up.

When they were done, Lannie took the plates into the kitchen as Colette started counting bottles again. Bending over to move a few boxes, she felt the cramping that she thought had subsided come back full force. She groaned and took a knee for a moment until the worst subsided. Getting back up, she felt the wave of nausea hit. She grabbed the bar with one hand and covered her mouth with the other.

"Letty?" Lannie's voice was full of concern. "Letty, what's wrong?"

"I just got really nauseous and my abdomen is cramping." Colette answered.

"Is it that time of the month? I get like that really bad sometimes. That's why they put me on birth control."

Colette didn't answer. She took a quick sip of her water and felt her world tilt. She looked at Lannie and grabbed the bar again.

"Letty?" Lannie said coming around the bar to help her sister sit down.

It was too late. The last thing that Colette remembered was the sensation of falling and her sister scream.

"Letty!" Lannie screamed. "Oh my God!" She reached for her sister who'd luckily fallen on the soft bar mats and was able to catch some of her upper body so that she didn't hit her head. She looked down at her sister and saw the blood that was all over Colette's thighs.

"MEAVY! MEAVY HELP ME!" she screamed.

"Lass where are ye?" Meavy came running out of the kitchen scanning the dining area quickly, Hamish close on her heels.

"Behind the bar. Hurry!" Lannie cried.

"Oh dear Lord. Hamish call for the ambulance," Meavy called out. "Lass, get a hold of your mum and da. They need to meet her at hospital."

"What's wrong with her Meavy? She said that she felt cramping and was nauseous," Lannie was crying now, "and the blood. Oh Meavy, she's bleeding."

Meavy took Colette so that Lannie could move from underneath her.

"Oh Lass," Meavy said sadly, "tell me ye aren't pregnant."

Lannie's hands went to her mouth. "Oh my God. She's having a miscarriage isn't she?"

"From the looks of it, I'd have to say so."

"The ambulance is on its way." Hamish said from the other side of the bar. "Tell me Meavy."

"I don't think the wee little bairn is going to make it."

Until the ambulance arrived, Lannie tried to phone her mother and the Colonel to no avail. Neither one answered. She didn't bother with Chloe as she was on her way to Charleston with the neighbors. Needing to be with her family, she decided to call Clair, who answered on the third ring.

“Talk to me," she said by way of greeting.

"Clair you have to come to the hospital to meet me," Lannie said rushed.

"Wait, slow down. What's going on? Where are you?"

"I'm at the pub with Letty. She wasn't feeling good and passed out. There's blood everywhere, and I'm so scared."

"Oh my God," Clair whispered. "Did you call Bunnie or the Colonel?"

  "They didn't answer," Lannie said.

The ambulance had arrived and started questioning Lannie and Meavy about what had happened, so Lannie told Clair to hold on as she told the EMT's everything that she knew. They told her which hospital they were going to take her to and loaded her up on the stretcher. Hamish came out of the back room with Colette's purse, and Meavy handed Lannie Colette’s phone. She followed the stretcher carrying her still unconscious sister to the ambulance and jumped in.

"Clair? Memorial hospital. Please be there," Lannie was crying now.

"I'll be there honey," Clair replied worried. "Give me fifteen minutes." Then, she hung up.

  Chapter Fifteen

Gabe had just gotten out of the shower, after feeling lazy and sleeping in, when his phone start
ed ringing. He knew that Colette was at work, so he finished drying off before he went to pick it up. He'd call whoever it was back. Before he reached it, it stopped ringing so he just turned toward his dresser and pulled out a pair of cargo shorts and boxers when it started ringing again. Pulling on his boxers and then shorts, he turned to grab his phone on the night table when it stopped again. Swiping the screen he saw that he had four missed calls, all from Colette.
