Pick Me (Wait for Me Series Book 2) Page 18

by Walters, Dawne

She stood there as Harrison dropped a kiss on her forehead and then turned to leave in his big truck. Walking back in the house, she locked the door and made her way back to her bedroom, straight to her stereo. She flipped the switch for the radio, turned it up a bit as she was alone, and started dusting and cleaning her room and bathroom.

A few hours later, she looked at the clock and decided to change her shirt and slip on her Doc Martens. She’d go to McGruder’s and at least get the inventory done. Grabbing her phone and purse on her way out the door, she made the drive down to the pub, parked and made her way in the back door.

With her purse secured in her locker, she tied her apron around her waist and made her way out to the bar. One look from Sara as she walked down the hallway toward the dining room told her that he was here. She gave Sara a nod of her head, made her way straight to the bar and picked up her pencil and clipboard that Hamish has set out for her every Sunday for inventory.

  “Colette.” It was said softly.

“I don’t want to hear your excuses Gabe. I’m working.”

“Please let me explain…” he began.

Colette whirled around staring at him, her face red with anger, her eyes wide. “I don’t go to your place of business and confront you with why you ripped my heart out yet again!” She waited for a moment, then slammed the clipboard down on the bar. “Don’t come to mine and try to explain away to me why Rosa was snuggled up to you on the sofa with your hand in her hair.”

Gabe put his hands on the bar and pushed away from it. “You’re right. I’m sorry.”

He pushed the stool in and looked up at her. “Can we talk later?”

“No,” Colette answered, shaking her head.

Gabe’s lips twisted in frustration. “So, you don’t want me to come here to talk to you, but you won’t let me explain what that was all about?”

  “Yep.”

“Then how do you expect this relationship to work Colette?” Gabe lifted his hands to his sides and dropped them back down.

  “Easy.”

“More than one word answers Colette,” Gabe warned.

“Fine,” Colette crossed her arms, “Rosa goes, or I do.”

Gabe rubbed his hands over his face. “It’s not that simple.”

  “It can be.”

  “No, it can’t.”

“Then leave,” Colette picked up the clipboard.

  “Amante,” Gabe pleaded.

“Please, just…go,” Colette whispered, looking down at the bar, unfolding her arms and taking her clipboard.

“We aren’t done. I won’t walk away from you,” Gabe stated as he took a step back.

“Then I’ll walk away from you,” Colette answered, “Goodbye Gabe.”

As much as it hurt her to say goodbye to him, she said it. Her stomach felt like it was sitting in her feet. She felt her heart start to hammer in her chest. She could feel it beat in her ears.

“They were in a car accident,” he said, quietly.

“Did you see her car?” Colette looked up questioningly.

  “She wasn’t driving.”

“Anyone else injured in this accident?”

  “I didn’t ask,” he offered.

Colette huffed out a breath and smiled sardonically. “Of course you didn’t.”

“We’ll talk after you get off from work,” he said, and turned to walk out.

  “I can’t.”

Stopping, Gabe turned around with a shocked expression on his face. “Can’t or won’t?”

“Carter’s coming home.” She looked down at the bar, then back up at Gabe. It didn’t matter if he knew when Carter was coming home or that he was hurt. Just that he was coming home.

  “That’s not a can’t. That’s a won’t.” Gabe stated. “You’re running away from the problem Colette.”

Colette just stared at Gabe, mouth opened for a moment. “If going to make sure that my friend has clean sheets on his bed and that his apartment doesn’t smell stuffy from being closed up is running from you, I’ll take it gladly.” When Gabe didn’t say anything, she continued, “I think you feel threatened by him.”

“You really think that I feel threatened by him?” Gabe took a step closer to the bar and lowered his tone, but it was no less lethal. “Is that what you think? Because if you think I’m threatened by a man who gave you the choice to be with me or him, you better think again. If I was him, I wouldn’t have given you the choice to be with another man.”

Colette’s eyebrows raised in shock, her mouth fell open to say what, she wasn’t sure. Her comeback dissipated in the air.

“I don’t feel threatened. Fact. And when I fell asleep last night, it was with my nephew on my chest and Rosa on the loveseat.” His eyes became hard as he stared at Colette. “Maybe you feel threatened by Rosa.”

Colette got mad. Maybe mad wasn’t the right word, pissed. That was more appropriate. She tossed the clipboard down on the bar and crossed her arms over her chest. Of all of the things he could have said to piss her off royally, bringing Rosa into the mix was the bull’s-eye.

“You need to leave, right now. Because if you don’t, I swear to God and all that’s Holy….I’ll hit you with something. I’ll also say something you don’t want to hear.”

“I’ll wait for you tonight when you get off work.” With that, Gabe left, keys and phone in hand, as it vibrated with an incoming call.

  Chapter Twenty-Eight

Gabe looked down at the vibrating phone in his hand as he left McGruder’s. He knew he shouldn’t answer it, but if there was anything wrong with his nephew, he needed to know. He hit the answer button but didn’t say anything until he was on the sidewalk outside.

  “What’s wrong Rosa,” he stated.

“Little G needs you. Why did you kick us out this morning?” Rosa whined into his phone.

“Rosa…” Gabe sighed, “does he need me or do you?”

“I always need you Gabriel, but G won’t settle down,” she breathed into the phone.

“I have a few hours and that’s it.” Gabe hung up the phone and walked over to his car. He looked at the pub for a minute before he got in and made his way to Rosa’s apartment.

The way there was a twenty minute reflection of why the hell he was going to her apartment in the first place. He knew that Rosa would use this visit to taunt Colette. He didn’t even care about Rosa anymore. It was his nephew he was worried about. What in the hell was Huerto thinking when he married Rosa? What was he thinking in going over to see her?

Pulling into the parking spot, he sat in his car for a few minutes contemplating not going in. Then decided he may as well get this conversation done and over with. Colette was right…to a point. Rosa was his cousin’s wife. That was it. Colette was his girlfriend. His girlfriend, who was going over to her friend’s house to change his bed and air out his house before he came home. That changed things for him, even if it was a simple gesture.

It was right after that precise thought that Gabe felt his stomach free fall to his feet. Was that where she’d had sex with Carter? In his apartment? Would there be a possibility that they’d do it again? His frustration with everything on his plate right now went from about a three to a ten in the span of about five minutes. Then, he ran through the possibilities that came from Colette going to Carter’s apartment. Not once did he even consider the possibilities of what could happen going into Rosa’s apartment.

Undoing his seatbelt, he yanked his keys from the ignition, got out of the car, slamming the door in the process, and stormed up to the apartment. His knock went unanswered. That should have been clue number one. Opening the door, he didn’t see or hear Rosa or Little G. Not even the TV was on. That should have been clue number two. He closed the door softly, just in case Rosa was putting Little G down for a nap.

  “Lock the door mi amor.”

Rosa’s words hit Gabe’s ears softly like a lover’s would. Gabe looked up in time to see the soft pink robe fall from Rosa’s shoulders,
stopping only because her bent elbows caught the fabric of her sleeves. She stood naked in the doorway from the hall to the living room. That was clue number three that should have warned him that he shouldn’t be there when he was pissed off. He didn’t lock the door, but walked into the room, stopping only when he was in front of Rosa. He didn’t touch her. He didn’t have to.

She reached up to him and pressed her lips to his. Lightly at first, until he started to respond. When he moved his lips to her rhythm, Rosa slanted her head to fit him easier. She slid her hands up under his t-shirt and splayed her fingers against his abdomen up to his pecs. Her tongue slid along his lips until he opened and she delved in, tasting his mouth.

Gabe responded to the kiss. He closed his eyes, his image was one of Colette going to Carter’s apartment and freshening it up. He felt the hands on his chest slide back down again as he teased Rosa with his tongue. He felt the pressure against his cock against the zipper of his jeans, the brushing of Rosa’s body sliding against his. Immediately, his body responded to her ministrations.

Her hands slid down to the waistband of his jeans, one sliding down over the fabric to the bulge in his pants, the other was working the button. Pulling the zipper down slowly, the fingers that were cupping the bulge were now moving up and sliding into the elastic band of his boxer-briefs. Although Gabe’s body was responding to her body, his brain had his movements to touch her on lockdown.

Rosa had pushed his boxer briefs and jeans down enough that she could touch his hard cock uninhibited. She didn’t hesitate, she wrapped her hand around him and started to slide up and then down slowly. When she could get back down to the head of his cock, she would twist her fingers over it, then slid slowly back up. Her other hand slid down to massage his heavy sack.

Being careful not to break the trance that she had with Gabe, she slowly released her lips from his and slid down to her knees, all while sliding her hand on his cock. She looked up to see that his eyes were still closed. She didn’t care if he had to think of Colette while she did this. He’d come around soon enough. She knew how to get him there.

Gabe was breathing heavy like he’d run a PT test. His eyes were still closed. He couldn’t stop imagining Colette going to Carter’s apartment. When Rosa’s tongue slid over the head of his cock, the vision in his head changed. Colette was on her knees in front of Carter, her mouth on him. As Rosa slowly slid her hot wet mouth over his cock, he saw Colette do the same thing to Carter. He couldn’t open his eyes if he wanted to. So, he stood there, like he was in shock. Like it was happening before him. In tandem, everything that Rosa did to him, he saw Colette do to Carter. Rosa worked him over, taking him all the way to the root, relaxing her tongue so that she could swallow him whole.

Yet when his own release was imminent, he couldn’t keep his hands by his sides any longer. His keys fell to the floor, he threw his head back with a long groan, squeezing his eyes closed tighter, and his hands threaded into Colette’s hair. He heard and felt the moan on his dick and the vibrations ramped him up even more. Colette’s name started out as a whisper on his lips, the vision in his head changed as his cock swelled in the moist warm cavern that he was thrusting into without any finesse. And right when he started to cum, he felt the tip of a finger invade his asshole, making him jam his cock into the mouth that was wrapped around him and he came harder than he had in a long time. It briefly took him back to when he would play with a few women that weren’t inhibited like most were.

At the last pulse of his dick, he let go of the hair that his fingers were tangled in and he slowly brought his head forward so that his chin rested on chest. His opened his eyes slowly and saw Rosa looking up at him, his dick still in her mouth, as she slowly slid off of him. Her lips were swollen and she had a trail of saliva running down her chin to her breasts. He watched as her pink tongue slid over the head of his cock. Then, she looked up at him and gave him an evil smile.

Then the freight train hit him.

His hands flew to his face and he wanted to throw up. He felt so sick to his stomach that he got dizzy and the bile in his stomach rose in his throat. He breathed in a few slow, deep breaths. His hands came from his face and realized he had to leave. Immediately.

“What’s wrong Gabriel?” Rosa cooed at his feet. Her hands slid up and down his legs, her breath washed over his exposed cock.

“What have I done?” he whispered, more to himself than to Rosa.

“You didn’t do anything that you secretly have been wanting to do for several months.” Rosa slid her tongue up and down his cock, as her hand came up to wrap around it, stroking lightly to get him hard again.

  “Rosa,” Gabe warned.

“You fucked my mouth so good. Like you used to do so many times before. You loved cumming down my throat,” she purred, still touching him and licking him. “You love it when I put a finger in your ass. You remember you told me that once.” She continued her ministrations.

Visions of he and Rosa that he’d pushed back years ago in the recesses of his brain began to assault him. The things they’d done together. He’d told her that he wasn’t looking for anything serious. Then Huerto and Rosa were dating, and then married. Huerto had approached him to help him train Rosa as his submissive. He remembered the things that they’d done with his cousin while he taught Rosa...and now...this.

He went to bend down and pull his pants and boxers up when Rosa’s grip on his dick tightened.

“Where are you going mi amor?” Rosa looked up at Gabe with a knowing smile on her face. “It’s my turn.”

Gabe looked down at the woman that he had only used for sex long ago. The woman who was his cousin’s wife. The woman he now detested with his whole being.

“I think you can get yourself off.” Gabe was ready to push Rosa away from him when her cackle stopped him and made the hair on his neck stand on end.

“Oh, I don’t think so Gabriel. We started this and we are going to finish it.” Her evil smile spread across her face. “You see, I have cameras set up here in the apartment and if you don’t fuck me the way you used to fuck me…well, then,” she pouted for a moment, “Well, Colette will get a recording of this. How you fucked my mouth so violently. She’ll never know that it was her name that came from your lips though. I have recorded all of our times together, and I’ve become quite adept at dubbing sound to video. It’s rather simple.”

Gabe was dumbfounded. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Would he risk this with any chance that Colette would see him with Rosa? Or was this just a bid for Rosa to have sex with him again. It’s what she’d always wanted. Yet, when she and Huerto were married, he’d only had her suck him off while Huerto fucked her.

  Did he believe her?

  Or not?

“I can see you have doubt,” she smiled, licking the head of his semi hard cock. “Look in the kitchen on top of the cabinet that is facing us.

Gabe looked up to his left and saw a small black camera. The light was flashing red. His heart sank to his toes. The bile in his stomach started to rise in his throat again.

  He exhaled a breath. “Why?”

“I always get what I want Gabriel. I want you.” She licked him again and her grip lightened, but she didn’t stop stroking.

“I never wanted you Rosa. You had Huerto. You married him.”

“Because I knew that I’d still get to see you. Don’t you see Gabriel, you were the connection,” she said, smiling. She took the head of his dick in her mouth and swirled her tongue around it.

He pulled back, effectively pulling from her mouth. “Stop.”

“Can’t you concentrate when you are in my mouth?” She looked up at him with big puppy dog eyes.

“I don’t want this Rosa. It was a huge mistake….”

“One that you can no longer escape from,” she smiled, scrunching her nose and shrugging a shoulder for an added effect that she knew he was screwed.

“Oh, I can escape from it. Just you watch,” he said as he reached down
and grabbed Rosa by the wrist with one hand and went to grab his jeans and boxers with the other.

“You will lose Colette.” She fished around in her robe that was on the floor, pulled out a remote control and after hitting a few buttons with her thumb, she looked over to her right to the camera in the kitchen, then to the left where she lifted her chin in the direction of the sunroom.

Gabe followed her gaze to the kitchen as the light on the camera turned off, then toward the sunroom where he saw another camera that was moving to point at them, then the light started flashing red. He stumbled back a step realizing that he was really and truly screwed. There was no going back now. There was no undoing this. He should have never caved last night when she called from the hospital. Everything that Colette had asked him came to mind.
