The dumbass was implied and I deserved it. After the front door shut and we had the house to ourselves, I lifted Vi into my arms and carried her back to our bedroom. The sheets on the bed were different from the ones this morning, and I noticed none of my dirty clothes were lying around the room. I was admittedly a bit of a slob, and Vi seemed to only handle the mess for so many days before she picked it up. I’d have to do better while she was pregnant. The last thing she needed was to clean up my messes.

I shut the bedroom door and let her slide down my body until her feet touched the floor. As much as I wanted to make this last, to worship every inch of her body, I didn’t think I could manage slow and easy right now. I’d be careful with her, but I was also aware that the second I felt her pussy around my cock, I’d lose what little sense I had left. I couldn’t seem to resist her.

“Clothes. Off.” She smiled softly as she started removing them, and I shed my own in record time.

When we were both naked, I kissed her hard, gripping her hair with one hand and her hip with the other. Her nipples were already hard and brushed against my chest, just upping my desire a few more notches. There wasn’t a single thing about Violeta that I didn’t love. She wasn’t just beautiful on the outside, but she was sweet and loving. She had a beauty that shone from within.

  “Love you, Jesse.”

  “I love you too, baby.”

She pulled free of me and backed toward the bed, then stretched out and parted her thighs. Her pussy was already wet and my cock jerked at the sight of her open and ready for me. I stepped closer and ran my hand up her leg, loving the feel of her soft skin against my rough fingers.

I spread the lips of her pussy open wide, then brushed my thumb against her clit. Vi gasped and her body tensed, but her gaze was locked on me. Slowly, I lowered myself to the floor beside the bed and leaned forward. The second my tongue touched her, she moaned and her thighs clamped down on my shoulders.

  “Jesse… more. Please.”

Holding her open, I tasted and teased, flicking my tongue against her clit before plunging it inside her tight channel. Within minutes, she was coming on my face, and I lapped up every drop. Vi shuddered from the force of her release, and yet she still reached for me, wanting more. I wiped my beard before standing and pulling her ass to the edge of the mattress. As I entered her, I leaned down and claimed her lips. She didn’t shy away from tasting herself on my lips and it just made me even harder.

The first few strokes were nice and easy, then the little temptress squeezed her inner muscles and my dick felt like it might explode. I growled softly as I started slamming into her, taking her hard and fast, just the way we both liked it. She came again and the rush of her release coating my cock was enough to trigger my own release. I came so fucking hard I saw stars and felt it leaking out around my dick.

  “Fuck me, Vi.”

She laughed softly. “No, I believe you did the fucking.”

I lightly swatted her hip. “Smart-ass.”

Withdrawing from her body, I collapsed on the bed next to her. Then what Dread had said about being careful hit me and I leapt off the bed, spreading her thighs again.

“What are you doing?” she asked, her body shaking with silent laughter.

“Making sure I didn’t hurt you. You’re not cramping or hurting?”

Her gaze softened and she reached for me. “Jesse, I’m fine, and so is the baby. Lie back down with me.”

I crawled back onto the bed and pulled her against me. “One of these days, I’m going to make it last longer. I swear I see you naked and it’s like the caveman side of me comes out and I can’t seem to hold back.”

  “I don’t recall complaining.”

I kissed her forehead. “Maybe you should. You deserve better.”

“I deserve better than the man I love? The one who loves me? The father of my unborn baby?” She looked at me. “Is that what you’re saying?”

Well, when she put it like that… didn’t mean I felt worthy of her. I wouldn’t let her go, though. Not now, not ever. Fatigue was pulling at me after the morning I’d had, but I fought to stay awake. I didn’t want to miss a moment with Vi. It was still sinking in that we were going to have a kid. I was going to be a daddy, something I’d thought would never happen. Forty was getting a little too close for comfort and I hadn’t had a serious woman in my life since high school. I’d figured the family thing just wasn’t in the cards for me. It seemed Fate thought otherwise.

I heard my phone chime in the pocket of my discarded jeans and I extracted myself from my fiancée long enough to get it. After pissing off Spider, the last thing I needed to do was ignore a text or call. The message made me smile and a weight lifted from my shoulders.

“The Chaos Killers are gone. If there are any left, they’re off the radar. Specter and Casper blew every last one of their clubhouses, if you could even call some of those buildings a clubhouse. Addie was extracted before the chapter in the Florida panhandle was taken down,” I told her.

  “And Marcus?” she asked.

I pressed my lips together and shook my head. “They found his body. It seems he went after his sister, expecting them to uphold their end of the bargain, and they repaid him with a bullet.”

  “That’s so sad.”

“He made his choice and paid the price. It is what it is, darlin’.”

We cuddled in the bed a while longer, until her stomach rumbled, then I had the fun experience of attempting to cook something out of the crap Dread had put in the kitchen. What the hell was I supposed to do with asparagus and cauliflower? Looked like Google was about to become my best friend.

  Violeta

  Four Weeks Later

I smoothed my hands down my dress, then lovingly caressed the property cut I’d put on over it. Once the dust had settled and things had returned somewhat to normal, Rocket had insisted we get married right away. To him, that meant go to Vegas and do it that night. I’d talked him into giving me a few weeks to put together a decent wedding, and he’d conceded.

  “You ready?” Luciana asked.

  “To marry Rocket?”

  She nodded.

“I’ve been ready since I got over my initial fear and started to realize I liked him more than any other man I’d ever met. And that was before I’d even seen him shirtless.”

  Luciana snickered.

“Oh, like you’re one to talk! You weren’t even in Spider’s house one day before you offered to be his woman, and don’t even tell me that by the time you went to bed that night it was only about being safe. He rocked your world and you wanted more.”

  She stuck out her tongue.

“I thought you were the eldest sister?”

I turned to the voice behind me and smiled at Charlotte. The Reckless Kings were passing through and heard about my wedding, so of course they’d crashed it, and brought Charlotte with them. She was the baby sister to Brick, one of their patched members, and I already knew we’d be good friends.

“Only by age,” I said. “The longer she’s around the Hades Abyss members, the more childish she acts.”

There was a knock at the door and Dread poked his head into the room. “If you don’t hurry up, Rocket is going to come in here and get you.”

  “I’m ready,” I told him.

I stepped into the hall and Spider was waiting for me. I’d asked him to walk me down the aisle, and he’d accepted. Even if my father had been alive, I would have never wanted him here. As we neared the main part of the clubhouse, I heard a violin start playing. The moment I’d searched for a band or pianist, I’d been informed that Knox played the violin, and he’d offered to play at the wedding.

Rocket was waiting, along with Bear, who had gotten an online certification to officiate weddings. He looked amazing. Even though he wore his cut, he’d purchased a button-down shirt that was charcoal with lighter gray striping. He’d paired it with his dark-wash jeans and his Harley Davidson boots, but just lo
oking at him made my knees weak and my heart race.

Spider handed me off to Rocket, and the moment our hands touched, I felt a flutter of excitement. Even though he’d claimed me, I would officially be his wife after today. I couldn’t wait to share his name. Violeta Jones. Bear had promised to only use Rocket’s club name during the ceremony, but the marriage certificate would have his real name on it.

Bear cleared his throat and I felt my cheeks warm.

“What?” I asked, and everyone in the room chuckled.

“It’s the part where you say I do,” whispered Rocket with a smile.

“Oh. Oh! I do. I definitely do!”

That drew another laugh from our friends and family, but I didn’t care. When our vows were over and we both wore matching wedding bands, my heart felt so full that I thought it might burst. Rocket kissed me softly, our first kiss as man and wife.

  “Love you, Vi.”

  “Love you more.”

He grinned, then scooped me into his arms and started toward the front door of the clubhouse. Spider’s hand clamped down on his shoulder. “Where the hell do you think you’re going?” Spider asked.

  “Uh…” He looked uncertain. “Home?”

“Nope,” Spider said. “You’re staying for the reception, and when you leave, you’ll be going on your honeymoon.”

“Honeymoon?” I asked. “We didn’t book one.”

“No, but I did,” Luciana said. “You have three nights at the best hotel in St. Louis, and dinner reservations for tomorrow night. Anything else will be up to you. If you want to sightsee, then you can.”

“And when do we check-in?” Rocket asked, not sounding the least bit excited.

  “Tonight,” Spider said.

I looked up at my husband. “We don’t have to go.”

He opened his mouth to respond, but Luciana interrupted him.

“Yes, you do. Violeta, you haven’t seen any of this country except for the one trip down to Alabama when we were in trouble. It’s not right that you’re caged here and don’t go out and have fun.”

Rocket’s jaw snapped shut and he gazed down at me. “She’s right. We’ll go after we’ve visited with everyone.”

“And opened presents,” Charlotte said, grinning as she wormed her way between Spider and Rocket. “We brought gifts!”

Rocket sighed, then kissed me softly. “Well, wife, it looks like we’re entertaining this crew for a while longer. Then we’re going on a short honeymoon. And when we get back, you can pick a room for the nursery and we’ll go shopping.”

I smiled and reached up to tug on his beard. He’d let it grow out again, and he’d also been asking me for weeks where I wanted to put the nursery. I hadn’t given him an answer yet, mostly because I was scared that I’d set up the room, then lose our baby. Keeping that thought to myself hadn’t been easy, but I didn’t want him to worry.

Rocket carried me over to a table decorated with ribbons and flowers. He sat, then placed me in his lap even though there was a perfectly good chair next to him. As we opened the first present together, I realized that I had everything I could ever want. The love of a man who adored me, a baby we’d created together, and a family who meant everything to me, whether we were related by blood or not.

When I’d come to the Hades Abyss, I’d thought I would be tortured, maybe even killed eventually. Instead, I’d healed emotionally and physically, grown stronger and more confident. And I’d found love. Recent events had proven something to me, though. While I was safe, protected, and cared for, there were other women out there who weren’t so lucky. Women who had the misfortune of attracting the attention of the wrong sort, or trusting someone they shouldn’t.

“Jesse,” I said softly, hoping no one heard me use his name.

  “Yeah, Vi?”

“When we come back, do you think I could talk to Surge about the other women the Chaos Killers took?”

  His brow furrowed. “Why?”

“I want to help them. I don’t know how, or if there’s anything I can do, but maybe if they see how happy I am with you, then it will give them hope. Casper VanHorne might have brought me here, but it was you who saved me. Now I want to save them.”

He nodded. “We’ll figure something out. Right now, we need to open presents and cut that ridiculously tall pink-and-white cake. What the hell, Vi? It looks like a flamingo threw up on that thing.”

I threw back my head and laughed, knowing that he wasn’t wrong. It hadn’t turned out quite the way I’d imagined, but then nothing in our lives ever seemed to go according to plan. And I was learning to love it.

I’d found my happily-ever-after, and now I wanted everyone else to have one. My gaze slid over to Charlotte, who was talking to Teller, her hands waving as she explained something to him. Then I noticed the way both her brother, Brick, and the Reckless Kings’ President, Beast, were watching her. Brick looked ready to rip off poor Teller’s head, but Beast… that wasn’t brotherly concern on his face. If I didn’t miss my guess, he was jealous.

I smiled, wondering just how much of a nudge she would need in his direction, and whether or not he’d act on his feelings. Only time would tell.

  Note from Harley

Play List: I tend to listen to music when I’m writing. Sometimes the songs fit the book, and other times it’s just more about whatever mood I’m in when I set up my playlist. I thought I’d share Rocket’s playlist with you. As you can see, I have rather eclectic taste in music and listen to a bit of everything. My playlists will have anything from the current Top 40, to R&B, Country, songs from musicals, or anything that catches my attention in a movie or on the radio. I’ve also been known to listen to classical.

Dedication: Some women are lucky enough to marry their soul mate. I got that and so much more. My husband is supportive of my writing, encourages me when I get frustrated, and believes in me even when I don’t believe in myself. So thank you, to the man who keeps me going even when I’d rather curl up with a book and read.

I’d also like to thank my readers. You guys are so amazing! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you. There are millions of books out there, but you chose to read mine. Sending you lots of hugs!
