She could hardly believe it too. “It’s just as Erelah said.”
He looked sharply to her. “What did Erelah say?”
He was so serious about it, she hesitated and thought hard. What exactly were Erelah’s words? “She said, I returned to the Light when my Love for him was True. She meant Leksander.” A smile crept across her face. “So this means your Love for me must be True.” Of course, she already knew that. She didn’t need white wings to tell her so.
“Obviously.” But then he stared at his white feathers again, still puzzled. “But I had Love of you before, sweet Eden. Why now? Why the sudden change?”
She ran her hands up his sexy body, just because he was still holding her close and she could. “All the wild sex? You were pretty intense there, my sexy angel lover. Maybe it was the glory of the orgasm that brought you into the Light.” She was teasing, but he looked at her like he couldn’t decide if she was crazy or actually on to something.
He frowned. “Asa remarked on something similar.”
Her eyebrows hiked up. “Really?” She was totally kidding.
His frown etched deeper. “He said…” Razael’s gaze drifted, thinking. Then realization stole over his face. “That he felt the magic happen. It was the first time they made love. And… Holy angels of Light.” He stepped back from her and ran a hand through his hair. His eyes were wild again, but with a crazy excitement. “The first time… when we made love…”
He was so serious that it tempered her smile. “You were kind of lost there for a moment.”
“No, not lost.” A smile grew on his face. “Found.”
Well, she was lost. “What do you mean?”
This time he ran both hands into his hair, gripping it, then opening his hands wide. “I had Love of you, my fair and sweetest Eden… but I hadn’t given myself truly over to that Love. I didn’t believe in it.”
She was nodding now. “You didn’t think you were worthy of it.”
“Yes, exactly!” He was back to excited now. “But your faith in me was pure. Your Virtues are unparalleled. It was you who redeemed me. Your True Love. But only when I believed in it—when I believed in the power of that Love to transcend all my Sins, all my Lust—only when I pledged myself to you and our Love forever… that is when it happened.” He stepped closer and took her by the shoulders. “That’s when I was remade. Reborn.” His expression was filled with joy and awe, and she couldn’t help being swept up in it.
“What does it mean?” she asked. “Being in the Light?” Her heart felt like it was hanging over a precipice. Please let him stay. Please let this mean I can keep him.
He smiled. And then he laughed. And then he pulled her into a hug that felt like it was bonding her to him eternally—and she was okay with that.
But then he pulled back, a grin wide on his face. “It means that, should the Warrior Angels come, I will no longer perish in their righteous fury.”
“That’s good, right?” Her heart was soaring.
“That’s very good.” Then more awe took over his face. “But that is the least of it. I think… it’s possible…” He was back to frowning and shaking his head in wonder.
“What?” she asked, her heart quivering again.
“I may know how we can win this war.”
He seemed terribly excited about that, and she supposed that was important—certainly, it was important—but it wasn’t what mattered to her most in the world.
“And what then?” she asked, holding her hands over her heart because she suddenly felt as if it might flutter and burst. “Will you be able to stay?” With her. And the baby. That’s what she meant. That’s all she wanted.
His amazement tempered, and he drew her back to him again. “Yes. Yes.” He dropped to one knee and stared up at her with that blazing look of his. “I am yours for all time. And there is no force in all the realms which could tear me away.”
Words escaped her. Tears too. She just stood, mouth hanging open.
She had believed. She’d had faith. And her wildest of dreams was coming true.
She melted into Razael’s arms, holding fiercely onto him. “Show me,” she gasped.
And he did.
Chapter Nineteen
Laylah was staring at him. The entire Regiment was.
Razael couldn’t blame them—he still could scarce believe it himself. He was an angel of Light standing amidst a Regiment of shadow, flexing his wings of white for all to see.
Leading them.
“I know you all want answers,” he said, his voice booming off the high dark-crystal walls of his Regiment. “Details. And you shall have them. But the most important thing for you to know is that we can win against Elyon. We are capable of winning this fight. But it will require things of you of which you may not believe you’re capable. Things that will require faith and Virtues which you do not think you possess.” He swept a look around at the faces—they were alternately hopeful and terrified. Both reactions were well warranted. “But you do have them. You are not lost to the shadow side. I have faith in you. And right now, I need you to have that faith in yourselves.” The disquiet on their faces was intimately familiar. He knew that doubt. He had lived it for a century. But he was here to tell them—nay, show them—a better way.
“How are we going to beat Elyon?” Laylah asked. She had been the first he’d shown his new wings. Her amazement was only topped by her joy. She confided that she had believed it possible all along.
She was the first he hoped would pave the way. But only time would tell if that would work.
If any of this would work.
“We will not beat him with swords,” he proclaimed. “Nor with spells or banishment or torment. We will not destroy him by destroying his followers. He is the darkest of the dark angels. We cannot beat him at his own horrific game.”
“What then?” Laylah asked. She knew—he’d discussed it with her earlier, and she’d thought him only half mad. But she was helping him ease the Regiment—his Regiment, even though he was now of the Light—into this radical plan. A plan to end all plans—Elyon’s and otherwise.
“We will end Elyon with the one thing he has no power over… Love.”
The angelings erupted into chatter and chaos, and Razael let them have their moment of disbelief and outcry. Laylah met his gaze across the balcony and gave him a small smile.
With faith—and Love—anything was possible. He knew that now in a way he had not been capable of before. Not until a woman with Virtues which shone like the sun showed him the way.
Love was the answer.
Even in war.
Razael has found his True Love, but how can Love stop a war? Find out in the final novel of the Fallen Angels series...

Micah
(Fallen Angels 5)
MICAH: I was born in Sin, and shadow is all I’ve known… until her. My father is the most powerful of the shadow angels, and his lessons for me have always been simple, cruel, and full of pain: there is no Love in the shadow realm. I’ve survived by learning those lessons, reading his moods, and keeping my head down when his Wrath is unleashed. But I couldn’t let him again use the soft body of a woman to teach me not to care… so I helped Ren escape. I let her go because I can never have her—this way, at least she and the baby are safe. Only now, my father’s bent on destroying everything in his mad quest to take down the Light angels and enslave the humanity he loathes. And the woman I love is once again in his sights…
REN: I’ve got a bad habit of picking Bad Boys… but the prince of the shadow realm? Really? Micah was going to be a hot, one-night fling—her last Bad Boy before she straightened up her life for good. After that, she would find a grown-up man who didn’t need a woman to fix his life. But tomorrow turned into a week later, and suddenly, she was waking up in love and totally pregnant with Micah’s baby. And trapped in a hellscape of shadow angels in the middle of an immortal war. All she wanted was Micah’s love… but this time, Mr. Wrong was Mr.
Devastatingly Wrong. And no matter what the Light angels said, she wasn’t going back to Hell to fix him—even if it might stop a war.
In a war that threatens mortals and immortals alike, those in shadow have the most to lose—if the Warrior Angels awaken, it will spell their doom. Redemption might be found through the soft embrace of Love, but how to find Love in the middle of war? Especially when the forces of darkness will do anything to stop it.
