She laughs hard and kisses my forehead as she’s turning over to stand up.
“Ok, can we finally swim now?”
Symone smiles, and while still standing in front of me, she starts to pull her shorts off. God, she looks good. Symone is wearing a cute hunter green bikini that makes her beautiful green eyes glow brightly. She has incredible curves and her stomach is lightly defined with a four-pack. Symone grins at me and reaches her hands out for me to help me up. I shake my head and take Awenasa’s hand and we stand up together.
“You look too dangerous right now to accept those hands.”
She smiles in a proud way and turns her back to us and starts walking towards the water. I take Jaime’s hand and the three of us follow Symone’s beautiful switching ass.
Symone tentatively steps in the water to test the temperature, but I tug Awenasa and Jaime with me to run and dive into the water. We laugh as we splash into the cool water and dive in under a wave that’s crashing on the beach. We emerge behind the wave and immediately dive again to get passed the crashing point to wade. Symone surprises me as I turn around to look for her. She comes up out of the water right in front of me, only inches apart. I smile and laugh.
“I thought we lost you back there while you were playing chicken with the water foam.”
Symone laughs and lunges for me, pushing me under the water. I pop back up, wipe the water from my eyes, and then tackle her, pushing her under the water. She wraps her arms and legs around me, pulling me under the water with her. We wrestle under the water a little bit, and then pop back up, still embracing each other and gasping for air.
I push Symone away and swim around Awenasa, wrapping my arms around her from behind. Awenasa tilts her head back smiling and kisses my lips. I tighten my arms around her waist and she smiles against my lips and pulls me into a kiss that makes my head swoon. I turn her around to face me while we kiss and pull her in close. She wraps her legs around my waist and we sink a little. She giggles and I increase the strength of my paddling feet to keep us afloat.
I expected the water to be warmer here, but its colder than the beaches in Delaware and Maryland.
I slowly release Awenasa from the kiss and she turns back around to face Jaime and Symone. Both of whom are watching us with small smiles.
We just talk and swim for a while before we’re all hungry and decide to get out to get a snack. It takes a few tries to find the best wave to ride in to not get dragged under as we hit the beach. But as we’re coming up out of the water, I notice Symone’s top is starting to come untied in the back. Shit. I jump after her and get her wrapped in my arms with her chest pressed against mine, just as her top is about to drop.
“Don’t move. I need to fix your top.”
She smiles and blushes a little as I work my hands between us to tug the top into place without touching her breasts. I grab the straps and tie them behind her neck.
“Thank you. That could have been embarrassing.”
“Only for the people that wish they look like you.” Her eyes get really big and she smiles and laughs a little. “That was actually a compliment from you.” I laugh hard and push her away now that she’s covered again. “Whatever. I’ve complimented you before.”
When we get back to the towels, Sara, Tonya, and Keira are sitting around talking and eating. We grab our stomachs and Sara laughs.
“There’s a bag on your towels. Its beach fries and beef kababs.”
“Yes! Thank you.”
We plop down and eagerly dive into the food they bought us. It’s really good. The beef has a Mexican flavor and the fries are really crispy and have just the right amount of salt.
After I finish my food, I lay back and Awenasa joins me, moving over closer, so her body is touching mine. I smile and take her hand in mine and I close my eyes.
“Hey, baby, are you from around here?”
I quickly open my eyes and look up. Symone is laying down on her stomach next to me and a guy has squatted down behind us, only a foot in front of her. He’s an attractive guy, but the look of lust in his eyes is disgusting.
“Stop looking at her like that. Go away.” He looks at me confused. “Excuse me?”
“I said, go away. She’s not interested.”
“How do you know? She’s smiling, so I think she is.”
“She not smiling because of you.”
“What’s your problem?”
“I don’t have a problem, but you will if you don’t go away and stop looking at her like she’s a piece of meat.”
“Girls dress like that to get attention.”
“Wow, you’re really conceited to think that every woman actually dresses to attract you to themselves. They couldn’t possibly dress to feel good about themselves or because they like the way they look. Neither of which requires a third party such as yourself. Just because a woman looks good, doesn’t mean she wants attention. Dumb ass.”
“Are you looking for attention?” He looks at Symone with a hopeful grin and Symone shakes her head. “No.” He looks at me with narrowed eyes and stands up. “Whatever. Fucking dykes.”
We watch him walk away and then Symone looks over at me with a big grin, but before she can say anything, a rough looking Hispanic girl squats down in the guy’s place, looking at Symone with that same lustful look.
“Really?” The girl looks at me with a smirk and then at Symone. “You didn’t go for the three-legged type. So, maybe I’m more your type.”
“No, you’re not. You can go away too.” Symone covers her mouth, trying not to laugh in the girl’s face. But the girl doesn’t seem phased by me. “What’s your name, gorgeous?”
Symone doesn’t say anything and glances over at me with a smile. I look at the girl and her eyes are still trained hard on Symone. I inhale deeply and sit up turning some to face the girl. This gets her attention and she looks me up and down, as if she’s trying to size me up.
“In the amount of time it took you to scan my body to see if you can take me, I’ve already laid you out flat.”
Her eyes get big and her cockiness she had before falters. I train my stare on her, giving her a look that I know will make her spine crawl and the hairs on her arms stick straight up. She quickly stands up and walks away. I lay back down and pull Awenasa over to lay on my chest. Symone shifts next to me and leans over on her side to look down at me.
“What was that?”
“You had vultures hovering. I got rid of them. It’s no big deal.” She smiles affectionately and shakes her head. “Why did you do that? I could have told them to go away.”
“Yeah, I’m sure you are capable of scaring off vultures all on your own. Their presence bothered me. I was impatient.”
“What if I was interested in the girl? You didn’t even give me a chance with her.”
“You weren’t interested.” Symone grins and leans in closer to me. “How do you know? She was kind of cute.”
“Shut up. You didn’t like her.”
“How do you know?”
“Because I do. Now, just lay down.”
Symone surprises me and Awenasa by laying down on my chest and placing a hand on my stomach with Awenasa’s. Awenasa doesn’t say anything, but looks at me with an amused smile before laying back down on my chest.
Chapter Twenty
When we get back to the house, we take turns getting showers so we can get ready to meet with Giz Anderson and the producers for the music video. We fill our bookbags with stuff we may need and as Jaime is lifting the bookbag straps over her shoulders, she winces and pulls it back off.
“Damn it. I forgot to put more sunblock on you after we got out of the water.” Jaime smiles at me and shakes her head. “I actually put some on after we ate because I could feel I was burning.”
I dig through my bookbag to find the bottle of Aloe Vera I bought and walk over to her.
“Take your shirt off. Let me put this on you.”
She smiles and turns her back to me, while lifting
her tee shirt off over her head. I gently pull her bra straps down out of the way and carefully apply the Aloe to her shoulders, the back of her neck, and even the rim of her ears. She turns to face me and I apply some to her nose and cheek bones, and without thinking, I carefully rub some over her chest and the tops of her breasts. She blushes, but she doesn’t say anything. I quickly pull my hand back and close the bottle.
“I’ll bring this in case you need it again before we get back. Give me your bag. I’ll carry it for you.”
“Thank you. Do you deal with this a lot?” I grab both bags and sling them over my shoulders. “Yeah. My girls burn pretty easily. The beginning of last summer, Sam got so burned that she was in tears from it. It was horrible. My mom is a healer and was able to make an herbal soak that helped lessen the pain and draw a lot of the heat out, but she was still very tender and raw for a few days. She could barely stand anything touching her skin at all.”
“I’ve definitely had bad sunburns like that too. Thanks for insisting on the sunblock. This would probably be a lot worse if you didn’t.”
“You’re welcome.”
We’re met at the door of the recording studio by a guy with really small rectangular glasses that don’t look like they have a rim around the lenses and he’s dressed in a pair of jeans that look like they probably cost more than everything I own, equally expensive looking leather shoes, and a crisp bright white tee shirt that clings to his average toned chest. His head is shaved bald, but he has a full beard that really looks out of place with the rest of his appearance.
He exchanges pleasantries with Sara and then motions for us to follow him, without even introducing himself or allowing Sara to introduce us. We follow him through a nice foyer with two really pretty receptionists, taking call after call, and then down a few halls before he holds open a door to a large room that looks like a school gym, but has filming equipment everywhere and a large green screen towards the back wall.
“We’d like to see the choreography first, so we can gauge what the schedule needs to be like this week.”
He pulls his phone out, sends a quick message, and then we stand in awkward silence for a few minutes. Giz Anderson, a tall skinny black man, and a slightly pudgy Mediterranean man walk over smiling.
Giz is twenty-five, probably just a few inches over five feet, has long straight dark brown hair, fair skin, has an average build, and an average pretty face. In her slightly raspy voice, Giz greets us with a warm smile.
“I’m so happy to finally meet all of you and get to work with you. There’s new faces?” Sara explains the change up with Jade and Jaime and that Awenasa is my wife and won’t be in the dance. Giz grins at Awenasa and I for a moment, but doesn’t say anything about Awenasa being here. “It’s nice to meet all of you. Can I see the dance?”
Sara explains to her the two-part dance for the two locations and that the concept is to cut the video to integrate the two pieces to fit the theme of the song. We get into position and the music starts. We do a full run through of both scenes, and when we finish, Giz and the producers clap and Giz just gushes over the dance.
“That was fucking great. I love it. The only thing missing is a kiss. I can feel the love and romance, but it needs a kiss to send it home. Kayla, you should kiss both of your dance partners in the final embraces.” My jaw drops and my heart starts racing. I back up and shake my head. “No way. I am not kissing Keira. She’s my sister’s girlfriend.” Giz looks irritated, but before she can say anything, Sara and Keira are grabbing my arms and pulling me away. “Can you give us five minutes?”
Everyone walks clear across the gym and Sara turns me to look at her. I can’t read her face, which makes me even more tense. Sara isn’t normally so closed with her emotions.
“This is just acting, Kayla. It’s just another piece of the dance.” I shake my head. “Kissing is not a dance move and Keira is your girlfriend.”
“It doesn’t matter. You have to do this. You saw how pissed she looked when you said no. We don’t want a reputation for being difficult to work with.” Keira places a hand on Sara’s shoulder and moves in closer to me. “Don’t worry about us. Are you comfortable doing this?”
I look around at everyone and all of them look stressed, except Symone. She looks thrilled. I look at Awenasa and she has a kind smile on her face.
“I don’t know. I need to talk to my girls. Just give me a few minutes.” Sara starts to say something again, but Keira takes her by the arms and pulls her away. “Come on. Give her a couple minutes.”
I take Awenasa’s hand and we walk in the opposite direction. Awenasa takes both of my hands, gently kisses my lips, and gives me an encouraging smile.
“I’m guessing you forgot that sometimes professional dancers have to also be actors and actresses for the roles they get?” I nod and move in closer to her. “I never even considered that they’d want us to kiss in those scenes. I thought we’d just be in the background and there would be video edits cut in of real actors and actresses doing that.”
“Can you also be an actress? Can you play the role they want you to play?” I look down, but she lifts my chin to look at her. “What are you worried about, puppy?”
“I don’t want to upset anyone. If I do this, then I upset all of you by kissing two other girls. One of which has been waiting for this for almost a year. And the other is my sister’s girlfriend. I don’t want it to cause issues with me and Sara by having to kiss her girlfriend. But, if I don’t do this, we could lose the job.”
“I won’t be upset with you for kissing either of them. I know you’d prefer not to have to kiss anyone outside of our family, but I understand this comes with the industry you’ve chosen to work in. Call the others and explain the situation.”
I take a deep breath and call Shannon.
“Hey, sweetie. Are you done for the day already?”
“No, I have a problem. Are all of you able to talk?”
“Of course, hang on.” It’s quiet for a minute. “Ok, we’re all here. What’s wrong?”
I explain the situation and I can hear one of them release a sound of frustration, but Shannon’s voice is first to say anything.
“This is your choice, but we promise, nothing will change between us if you decide to do this. All of you have worked really hard for this, so if you have to do it to keep the job, and you feel comfortable doing it, then we support you.”
Sam and Madison agree with Shannon and give me words of love and encouragement, which makes me relax a lot. I was really worried about how Sam would feel about this. She has relaxed about Symone a lot, but she’s still not a fan of her being in my life, especially since we know Symone has feelings for me now and isn’t just looking at me like a trophy anymore.
“Ok, thanks, babies. I’m sorry I never considered I’d have to do this. I guess I better talk to them and make sure Sara’s not going to hate me for kissing her girlfriend.”
“It’s not your fault, sweetie. We’ll talk later.”
“Ok, I love and miss all of you.” They tell me they love and miss me and I slowly pull the phone back from my ear and end the call. I look up at Awenasa and shrug a shoulder. “Well, our girls are ok with this.”
Awenasa smiles and takes my hand, pulling me back to the others. Sara turns to look at me with stress creasing her forehead and she looks really nervous.
“Will this change us if I kiss Keira?” Sara’s face visibly relaxes and she smiles and shakes her head. “No. If someone has to kiss her, I’d rather it be you because I know you won’t enjoy it.” Keira laughs and smacks her arm. “Hey, what are you saying, I’m a terrible kisser?” Sara smiles and shakes her head. “No, you’re a great kisser, but Kayla probably won’t even realize it because she’s going to be thinking too much about who she’s disappointing by doing it. Ok, let’s get back over there before they fire us.”
Giz and the producers are in conversation when we get back, but they abruptly stop talking and Giz looks at me with a less than pa
tient smile.
“So, what’s it going to be? Are you going to kiss them or do we need to change the lineup?”
“I’ll do it.” She smiles and twirls her finger in the air. “Great. Let’s see it again with the kisses in both scenes. And I don’t want an eighth grade first kiss kind of kiss. I want you to make me feel it between my thighs.” My face instantly gets hot and I nearly choke. She’s looking at me like she’s about to walk over and kiss me. “Ok.”
We get in position and Keira looks over at me with a cute grin. She squeezes my hand and leans in to whisper, “Just pretend I’m one of your girls.” I nod once and the music starts.
I don’t know if it’s my agitation from being forced to kiss women I don’t want to kiss, or my fear of underperforming, but I feel like I’m dancing my ass off. I feel like I look better than I have in any other rehearsal. Keira and I get to the final sequence and I spin her out away from me, just to spin her back into my arms. I dip her slightly, which was not part of the original choreography, and I press my lips to hers. Keira parts her lips and our tongues start to dance. I put everything into the kiss and she grips the back of my neck, pulling me in harder. After a few moments, I pull back with a gentle sucking nip of her bottom lip and we stand up.
Giz and her producers give us a couple small claps and Giz looks very pleased. The others are just watching with mixed emotion. Sara looks a little bothered, but not angry. Thankfully, Awenasa doesn’t look bothered at all.
“Very nice. Next, please.”
Everyone clears the floor and Symone and I face off several paces away from each other. She looks like she’s barely containing herself. The music starts and I can feel that same determination to perform at a level better than I’ve ever done. I can also feel it from Symone. We always dance perfectly in sync together, but this is different. We feel like we were made to do this dance together. Her body seems to mold to me and follow the guidance of my hands better than ever. Her hands and eyes adore me so freely that the passion and romance of the dance actually ignites heat in my chest, spurring me on to dance harder.
