Beyond the Point Page 32

by Damien Boyd

Firstly, I should like to express my sincere thanks to my friend and former professional colleague, Tony Steiner, for lending his name to my arch-villain. For the record, Tony is not a serial killer (just in case there should be any doubt about that!).

I should also like to thank EDF Energy Plc for their kind permission to feature Hinkley Point C and for granting me access to the site. It was a leap of faith on their part, for which I am most grateful.

And to David Hall and Clare Paul, without whom this novel would not have been written. Their invaluable assistance at every stage of development has been pure gold, not only in arranging a guided tour of HPC, but also for sharing their local knowledge and then acting as unpaid editors.

My sincere thanks must also go to my wife, Shelley, and my unpaid editor-in-chief, Rod Glanville, for reading the first draft on an almost daily basis over a long and hot summer.

To my professional editors at Thomas & Mercer: Laura Deacon, Hatty Stiles and, as ever, Katie Green (who interrupted her maternity leave especially for me). Thank you.

And last, but most certainly not least, I should like to thank you, the reader. I do hope you enjoyed reading Beyond the Point as much as I enjoyed writing it!
