Begging for Bad Boys Page 109

by Willow Winters

He raised an eyebrow. “So are you one of Sadie’s guests?”

“I’m actually Jim and Sadie’s wedding planner. Heather Blair. Blair wedding creations.”

Gavin laughed. “Well, I guess the next time my best friend wants to introduce me to his wedding planner I’ll say yes.”

  “Jim wanted to introduce us?”

Gavin held out his arm and Heather slipped her arm through it. He led her over to one of the empty tables and they sat down. “He thought we might hit it off.”

She laughed. “Imagine that. Maybe instead of an attorney, he should run a dating site.”

He was smiling but something had changed in his eyes as he said, “I’m really glad I ran back into you. I’ve been thinking about you all day, Heather. I was afraid that I’d never see you again. You ran off without giving me your number…or your last name for that matter. Do you not want to see me again?”

Heather took a deep breath and looked around. The guests all seemed to be enjoying themselves and no one was close enough to hear their conversation. There was a blonde woman with large breasts several tables away that seemed to be staring at them but since Heather was sitting with the hottest man in the room she didn’t think much of it. “I’ve never done that before,” she whispered. “I’m sure all women say that, but honestly, I’m not the adventurous type.”

“That’s hard for me to believe.” She cocked an eyebrow at him and he smiled and said, “Not that you don’t leave bars with men. I believe that. But you own this business that does amazing things to make people happy. To me that says, adventurer. Maybe you underestimate yourself.”

She dropped her gaze. She could smell his cologne and it brought back memories of having his body against hers and inside of her. Those images flitted through her mind and she wondered if they were running through his as well. She wanted to tell him that the woman he had been with last night wasn’t really her. It was her alter ego…the one she rarely if ever let come out to play. This was awkward. She had never had sex with a man and then had no idea what to say to him the next time she saw him. That was because she never had sex with a man she didn’t know. She started to try and put that into words, “I just don’t…”

Gavin reached out and softly ran his thumb down her jawline. It was an intimate touch and she wasn’t prepared for it. She closed her eyes and shuddered. It wasn’t the touch of a man that didn’t know her…or at least it shouldn’t be.

“You just don’t…” She swallowed hard and pulled out of his touch slowly. “I just don’t know what to say. I didn’t think that we would see each other again.”

  “Are you disappointed?”

She was looking down, staring at his neck. He touched her again. It was amazing how the simple touch of his fingers felt like a jolt of electricity. He only used two fingers and he tipped her face up so that she was forced to look into his eyes. Those sexy, bedroom, cerulean eyes. If he thought that was going to make it easier for her to speak, he was wrong.

“No, of course, I’m not disappointed.” It was just so complicated. “It’s just that I’m not really looking for anything permanent right now…” She stopped. That sounded like she thought he was offering something permanent. He hadn’t even said anything about a date. God, she hated this. She felt like a fool.

“Permanent is a strong word,” he said.

  “I know, that’s not what I meant I just meant…”

“You’re not looking for a relationship. Neither am I, Heather.”

  “You’re not?”

“No. But what happened between us was…”

“Gavin!” She saw him tense before turning toward the voice. It was one of the groomsmen. “It’s time for your toast.” He nodded and turned back toward Heather.

“Promise me you won’t run away so that we can finish this conversation?” She nodded, but her body already felt like it was in fight or flight mode. She was going to have to fight it to keep from running. He seemed to sense what she was thinking and with a sexy grin as he stood up he repeated, “Promise me,” and then added, “Out loud.”

With a shaky smile of her own, she said, “I promise.” Heather tried not to stare as he walked up to the front of the room. Not that anyone would have noticed if she did since everyone else’s eyes were on him as well. He was not only beautiful, he had a commanding air about him that made you want to stand up and take notice. She realized she was still smiling only when her eyes landed on the blonde that had been staring at them earlier. Apparently, she was the only one in the room not looking at Gavin. She was staring at Heather again only this time the curious look she had on her face earlier had been replaced by a glare.

  Chapter 9

Gavin went up front and picked up his glass of champagne. He hoped that he didn’t screw this up. His eyes were fighting him, trying to stay on the vision that Heather was. All he could think when he walked into the room and saw her earlier was “Holy shit.” His jaw dropped and he couldn’t stop staring as she had walked toward him. He hadn’t even been picturing her naked either. He was looking at her in that sexy little cocktail dress and the way that it hugged every one of her delicious curves. She was wearing more make-up tonight. Her eyes were rimmed with a smoky gray-blue color that highlighted those pale blue eyes and her cheeks were dusted with color…and then there were those lips. God, he shuddered at the memory of those lips on his, and on his body. They were shimmering with a glossy pink that he wanted to lick off. He couldn’t help but wonder what it tasted like and he couldn’t help but want to mess up all that pretty make-up. Her long legs were bare, smooth and perfect and the sexy shoes that encased her feet and held her up on a six-inch heel were almost more than he could take in public. He willed the hard-on he felt rising to go away, but even as he stood in front of a crowd of at least fifty people, ready to give a toast for his best friend, was at half-mast.

Gavin gave his toast and luckily it went smoothly even with his mind across the room. He finally looked back over at Heather, just in time to see her standing near the door whispering to her assistant, Kimberly. He got a premonition that she was about to bail. He sat his glass down and leaned in close to Jim and said, “I might disappear on you for a while buddy, but no worries I’ll be at the wedding.” Jim’s eyes followed Gavin’s and he smiled.

“Have a blast,” he told his old friend.

Gavin grinned. “I intend to.” He hurried toward the door. Heather was still there, talking to Kim. As he passed Chelsea she said something to him. He didn’t hear what it was and he didn’t care. He kept moving. Heather stepped out the door just before he reached her. Kimberly’s eyes were on his then and she cocked her head in the direction of her friend who was now hurrying away. Gavin winked at Kim and in just a few long strides he was at Heather’s side. He gently grabbed her elbow and before she could even protest he steered her into the closest private place he could find, the women’s bathroom in the lobby.

“Gavin!” she squealed as the door swung closed behind them, “What on earth?”

  “You were running.”

  “I was not.”

“You promised to wait for me.”

He watched as her face began to color. “I’m sorry, but I just can’t do this.”

He moved closer to her, trapping her between the sink and his chest. “What is it that you can’t do, Heather?”

In a shaky voice, she said, “This, you and me, whatever this is.”

“This,” he said, “Is two people getting to know each other. Maybe we went about it in an unorthodox way.” He took a step back so he was no longer between her and the door as he said, “I’d very much like to continue to get to know you, even if I have to take a step back and start over…” Heather cut off his words with her lips. He was surprised at first but that pink lip gloss tasted like peppermint and it was only seconds before he was sucking and licking at those full, sexy lips. She was on her toes and she had her hands up with her fingers wrapped up in her hair. Gavin ran his hands over that sexy little dress s
he was wearing, feeling every one of her curves. He imagined that he could feel her hard nipples pressing into his chest and he began to work the dress up her body, dying to touch the softness that he knew was underneath.

His pulse was surging with a passion unrivaled by anything else he’d ever felt as she gently scraped the side of her teeth across his bottom lip. She shoved her tongue in deep into his mouth and began to explore. Every emotion he had felt since he walked in the door and saw her spiraled together as they boiled to the surface and fueled the fire already burning there. He reluctantly let go of her with one hand and reached back and flipped the lock on the door. The clicking sound of it got her attention. He felt her stiffen slightly before she broke the kiss and took a step back. She was looking up at him with wide eyes, swollen lips and high color in her cheeks. Breathlessly she said, “Here?”

He grinned. “Are you up for it?”

She looked like she had about a hundred thoughts running through her pretty head all at the same time. That’s why he was surprised when she reached forward and unbuttoned the jacket of his suit. Once it was open she put her hands up near the top of it and pulled. The buttons of the expensive shirt scattered across the bathroom floor. Gavin didn’t care, but if he had, what she did next would have quickly changed his tune. She untied his tie and pulled it off of him and then after popping off the last button near his neck, she pushed the shirt pack off of his shoulders. With both hands, she pressed her palms into him and ran them down his hard chest and even lower down across his rippled abs. She did that a second time, only then using her fingernails, lightly scraping the skin and leaving him ready to beg for more.

He pulled her back in for another kiss, this time tangling one hand up in her hair. He slid the other hand down to the hem of her dress and brought it up again. When his hand touched bare skin he stopped, broke the kiss and looked down at her face. “No panties?”

She looked embarrassed as she shook her head. “Panty lines, you know?”

He smiled wickedly and said, “You sure it wasn’t in case you ran back into me?”

“Positive,” she said in a breathy voice. Then suddenly with a wicked smile of her own, she said, “If I had known, I would have worn panties to soak up the wetness there the second I laid eyes on you tonight.”

He grabbed her and turned her toward the mirror behind the counter. “Take it off,” he whispered. He let go of her and waited to see what she would do. He was thrilled when she slipped out of the only strap holding the dress on her shoulder and stood there holding the dress to her chest as her eyes stayed locked into his in the mirror. He licked his lips and flexed his fists into his thighs. She began lowering the dress, slowly…almost painfully so. It seemed like hours before he was treated to the sight of her gorgeous breasts and then her soft, flat belly and then finally the sexy flesh of her upper thighs and what lay between them. The dress was pooled at her feet and she lifted a sexy heel clad foot to step out of it. “Turn this way,” he told her. She turned toward him and now her backside was showing in the mirror. His cock was throbbing so hard that he was afraid it would push right through the fabric of his slacks. He was close enough to feel the heat of her body and smell her subtle perfume, but not quite touching. His body was on fire and he was consumed by thoughts of what he was about to do to her.

He reached out and ran his fingers up her arm and then down her spine. He felt her shudder. He moved his hands to the clasp of his trousers and unhooked them. He was unzipping them when he realized she was sliding out of those sexy shoes. “No,” He said. “Leave them on.” His voice was so ragged that he barely recognized it himself. He wondered if she had any idea what she did to him. He let his pants fall down around his ankles while at the same time gripping her small waist between his hands. Then he lifted her up and sat her bare behind on the cold granite counter. She squealed slightly but she didn’t object. He left her there while he finished undressing and reveled in the sharp intake of breath she let out once he was naked in front of her. “This is hot,” he said as his eyes roamed her body in the mirror behind her. “I want to watch while I fuck you.” She groaned and he nudged her legs open with his hips.

His heart was racing and pleasure was coiling deep in his belly. A moan fell from his lips as he lined himself up against her warm wetness. He couldn’t wait for a second longer. He captured her lips and buried himself deep inside of her. Shards of ecstasy flooded his body as she brought her legs up and wrapped them around his waist He felt the sharp point of her heels as she rolled her hips into his. While he thrust in and out of her he moved his lips from her mouth and covered her neck and shoulder in wet kisses. She locked her ankles behind his back and he braced his hands on the counter, watching them in the mirror over her shoulder. The image mesmerized him and threatened to set him on fire.

He looked back up at her face before letting his gaze drop to her breasts. He licked his lips before bending down and capturing one of them in his mouth. He used his tongue to flick across the hard nipple as she clutched onto him tighter and ground her hips up into his. The current building between them was almost palpable in the air and it didn’t take long before he felt her muscles contract and tighten around his shaft. She stiffened, convulsed and gave in to the orgasm that hit her almost at the same time that he gave into his. He felt like his insides had exploded and left nothing but hot, molten liquid in their place.

It was taking most of his strength to hold himself upright because his legs were shaking so hard. “Jesus…Heather,” he nuzzled his face into her hair.

“Gavin,” she whispered. “I want to get to know you.”

He smiled. “Oh thank god.” He licked his lips and looked at her. “Let’s go up to my suite and get started.”

She nodded at him. It was still several minutes before he could bring himself to separate from her. Once he did, he helped her down off the counter and they both hurried to put on their clothes. Gavin stood guard outside the bathroom door and when the coast was clear Heather hurried to the elevator. He followed quickly and just about the time the doors started sliding closed he caught sight of Chelsea. She locked eyes with him as the doors finished closing and he briefly wondered if he should tell Heather about her just in case she decided to spread more gossip. He looked down at the beautiful woman standing next to him and told himself that he would wait and tell her later. At that moment, he didn’t want anything to break the spell between them.

  Chapter 10

Heather was gathering her things as Gavin watched her. “I’ll see you at the wedding, right?”

She looked at her phone. It was just before noon. She had two messages and a missed call from Kim. She had sent her a text the night before that said, “Sorry I bailed on you. I’m okay. Will talk soon.” She cleared off the two text messages without reading them and looked at the weather report instead. “It looks like they expect the roads to be opened up early. I really need to get back to the city. I have so much work to do.”

He made a face like a little boy who was pouting because he didn’t get what he wanted. “You’ll leave me a number this time, though, right?”

She smiled. She was actually already looking forward to the next time she saw him and she hadn’t even left him this time yet. They had spent an incredible night together and she had woken up in his arms to the smell of a huge and hearty breakfast he ordered while she was still sleeping. After breakfast, they shared a long, steamy shower and ended up making love again before Heather finally convinced herself that she had to get up and get her day started.

“I will,” she promised as she pulled on the dress she wore the night before. She hoped that she didn’t run into any of the wedding party on her way to Kim’s room. If she did, she would blame wearing the same clothes on getting stranded with no luggage. Once she was dressed she picked up the pen and notepad off of Gavin’s nightstand and wrote her name and both her mobile and office numbers down on it. It was surreal to her that only twenty-four hours ago she thought she had swor
n men off for good and now she was having trouble leaving one. He got up and walked her to the door and they shared one last hot kiss before she left. She was still smiling dreamily when she made it to Kim’s room. As soon as Kim heard the sound of the card key slide in the lock, she pulled open the door.

“There you are! Where have you been? Please tell me not with Gavin Dunken.”

Heather furrowed her brow. “Why not with Gavin?”

“Didn’t you get my text messages last night?”

“Um…” Heather advanced into the room and dropped her bag down on the table. Kim closed the door behind her and waited. “I didn’t really read them. What happened? And what is this about Gavin Dunken?”

“Maybe you should sit down,” Kim told her.

With a cocked eyebrow and her hand on her hip, Heather said, “I don’t want to sit Kim. What the hell is going on?”

Kim went over and sat down on the bed. She looked sad as she said, “Last night after you left I met a woman that’s here as Sadie’s family’s guest for the wedding. Her name is Chelsea Dumont. She asked me if you were seeing Gavin.”

“I don’t even know her, why would she care?”

  “She’s really good friends with Gavin’s ex-wife.”

  “And?”

Kim sighed. “I’m sorry. I just don’t want to see you get hurt.”

“Kimberly! Just tell me, what is it?”

“She says that he’s a player. She said his ex-wife was madly in love with him and he cheated on her. She tried to save her marriage even after she caught him, but he got angry because she told Chelsea about his…indiscretion. He was only worried about what it would do to his reputation if people found out. He made up some awful story about her not wanting children although Chelsea said all she’s ever wanted was to be a wife and mother. Gavin divorced her and left her basically with nothing according to her. He’s a billionaire, did he tell you that?”
