Shopping for a Billionaire Boxed Set

  * * *

Wondering if Amanda and Andrew have something going on?

  Oh, yeah....

Here’s a sneak peak of Shopping for a CEO, which starts with a Prologue that takes place at the same time Declan broke up with Shannon in the Shopping for a Billionaire Boxed Set.

Shannon’s best friend Amanda takes on Andrew McCormick when she crashes his office and demands his help in bringing Shannon and Declan together.

What she doesn’t count on is finding her hot anger morphing into a hot attraction...

“What the hell is wrong with your stupid brother?” I shout as I barge into Andrew McCormick’s office. For the past few years I’ve worked with Anterdec in some capacity, but I’ve never been in here before. The office is huge. The windows are so broad and the view of the ocean so good that if you hold a folder up just below your eyes to block out the tops of the buildings you can think you’re at sea.

I hold back from doing that because I don’t want to look like a freak. My mother’s constant mantra fills my mind: Don’t draw attention to yourself, Amanda.

Kind of hard to avoid doing that when you barge unannounced into a CEO’s office, but I don’t need to make it worse.

“Well, hello there, Amanda,” he says with a weird, surprised smile. “What’s Terry done now?” he adds with a sigh. “I told him he couldn’t legally marry two women at once, even in Vegas -- ”

“Not that brother! Declan!” Though suddenly I find myself very intrigued by this little factoid about Terrance McCormick.

“Nothing’s wrong with Declan.” Could Andrew be any more smug? There’s such a look of boredom, like I’m a pest, and it’s the eyebrow lift that challenges me. The crossed arms over pecs that swell evenly, up and down, like a metronome in half time. The sinewy tendons in those arms, covered with a smattering of golden hair. Smug. Right.

Why am I here again? It’s not just to wipe away drool.

Oh, yeah. Shannon. Shannon and her douchebag ex...not-ex...whatever you call Declan. Steve holds the official title of Shannon’s Douchebag Ex, so I have to think of something new for Declan. Billionaire Douchebag Ex has a nice ring to it.

Billionaire Asshat Douchebag is even better.

“Your brother is being a complete asshole to Shannon and breaking her heart,” I snap. Andrew needs to be outraged. He needs to react. He needs to understand the gravity of the situation.

  But no.

“Maybe she should have thought about that when she pretended to be your wife and lied to Declan,” he says flatly, staring hard at my breasts, and not my eyes. What is it with this guy? My bosom betrays me, confusing my anger for arousal, and suddenly a red creeping flush covers the top of my chest. I look like a blushing porn actress.

Let me explain the “your wife” comment. I’m not gay. My best friend Shannon is not gay. We’re mystery shoppers, which, if you’re a fellow mystery shopper, explains everything.

  You’re not? Oh.

“Lied?” I seize on the one word that pierces the sudden forcefield that surrounds us, making it impossible to focus on anything other than his thick, wavy hair, glittering blue eyes that alternate between cold and hot....

“She lied to him,” he says in a neutral tone, blase and casual, like he’s all Whatev and I’m all ERMIGERD!

“My best friend did not lie!”

“You breast friend...I mean best friend, most certainly did.” His mouth is set firmly, but those eyes are dancing.

I snort. He’s looking at my rack like he’s on the sinking Titanic and these are the floatation devices.

I look at him -- really look at him -- for the first time, and gasp.

“Why are you wearing bicycle shorts?” I hiss. They’re so form fitting I can tell not only that he’s circumcised, but given enough time I could probably research which OB did it based on technique.

His hair is slightly damp as he runs a calm hand through it and flashes me a lopsided grin. “You caught me after my spin class.” The way a stray wave rests against his strong brow, how those eyes shine out from under thick eyebrows and glimmer with mirth.

And a little smoke and heat. It’s as if...

“You didn’t shower in the gym?” I choke out, realizing he’s watching me stare at him. And he doesn’t have a rack to ogle.

He points to a stationary bike in the corner. “No gym. The trainer comes here.” He points to a door. “The shower is in there.” There’s that lopsided smile again, and his eyes go to...

  Yep.

“You know my eyes are up here,” I say pointedly.

He looks at them. “They’re very pretty.”

“Thank you.” Wait. I cannot be distracted by a sweaty, musky, hot man who is staring at my rack.

Okay, I can be. In fact, if I weren’t distracted by that, I’d be made of stone.
