Selina and Evelyn had fallen into a terrible rhythm. Evelyn would say something quietly cruel to Selina, then Michael would chastise her and she would give a half-hearted apology, which Selina would accept. Over and over again they repeated this dance. Selina was starting to feel like nothing would ever change.

She kicked off her shoes when she entered the house and shuffled up to the bedroom where she fell, face down, into the bed. Michael landed softly next to her. She felt his hand on her back. He began to massage the tights knots and Selina let out a grateful sigh.

“You’re a saint for putting up with them,” Michael said.

“Don’t most saints die horrible deaths?” Selina asked, her voice muffled by the pillow.

“I would step in before it got that bad,” he said with a chuckle.

She turned on her side and looked at him. He was smiling down at her. He had this dimple in his chin that appeared anytime he smiled. Selina loved that dimple and she sat up on her elbows and leaned forward to kiss it. He cupped her cheek in his hand, pulled her up and kissed her, letting his tongue slide into her mouth. She still got goosebumps when she kissed him. Even a simple kiss excited her.

Selina allowed herself to relax. She focused on letting go of every second of stress she had experienced that day. She let it all go, let every last hurtful comment and sidelong look melt off her. All that was allowed to exist was Michael’s strong hands on her back.

“What do I need to do to get you out of those clothes?” he asked. He leaned over her and nibbled on her earlobe, then leaned down and softly kissed her neck. He licked her skin and sucked on her neck as Selina squirmed underneath him. He knew just the right places to touch to drive her crazy. His tongue, lips and teeth on her sensitive neck were intoxicating and exhilarating.

She rolled onto her back and reached for him, pulling him down to kiss him. She ran her hands up and down his back, but all of his clothes were between them. She didn’t want to touch cotton, she wanted to touch his skin. She wanted to feel his warmth, press her body against his, feel him filling her up.

She pulled his head towards her and kissed him deeply. She could taste lemonade on his lips and she sucked it off. Then with a wicked smile, she got up off the bed and turned her back to him.

“Unzip me,” she said over her shoulder and he was on her in an instant. He kissed the back of her neck and her pulse raced from his touch. He was behind her and she couldn’t see what he was doing. That unknown quality sent a tantalizing chill racing through her. His hands wandered down her body, grabbing her hips and ass and fistfuls of her dress. It felt so good to be touched by him. She couldn’t help but lean against him in a desperate bid for more contact.

He found her zipper and slowly pulled it down. His palms on her back spread the dress open and then let it fall down her until she was wearing nothing more than a matching pink set of bra and panties. Reaching around her, Michael massaged her breasts through the thin lace of her bra. The combination of his rough fingers and the softness of the lace caressing her skin made her shudder, and he growled in response.

She let her head fall back as a moan slipped through her lips. A steady ache was growing inside of her. He massaged her breasts, twirling his fingers around her nipples until they formed hard peaks. He pinched them and Selina arched her back and hissed in pleasure.

He ran his hands down her body. Grabbing at her stomach and thighs, he slipped his hands beneath her panties, making her breath hitch when he lightly grazed the most sensitive part of her.

“I love your body,” he whispered in her ear. “You’re so beautiful.”

He unsnapped her bra and it fell to the floor. She turned around and stood up on her tiptoes to reach him. He gathered her up in his arms leaning down to kiss her. They kissed passionately, their tongues sliding over each other. She sucked on his lower lip. He massaged her breasts. She pressed her body against his erection and he grabbed her ass.

He was still wearing his clothes from lunch and that simply wouldn’t do. Breaking the kiss Selina giggled and slipped out of his grasp. In nothing but a pink pair of panties, she sat primly on the edge of the bed and looked up at him.

“You have far too much clothing on,” she said, with a shake of her head.

He shook his head with a knowing smiled and pulled his black sweatshirt and white undershirt up and over his head before tossing them aside. He was unfairly handsome. Selina leaned back and took it all in as he kicked off his shoes and kicked them aside, before unbuckling his pants and letting them fall to the floor.

“Now we’re even.” He took her face in his hands and tilted her head up so he could kiss her. “Lie back on the bed,” he said, as he broke the kiss.

Selina moved towards the headboard and lay back on the bed. Michael gave her a wicked grin as he moved between her knees. He gently put his hands between her legs and pushed her knees apart. A tingle went up her spine as he bit at the waistband of her panties. He hooked his fingers under the thin scrap of a garment and slid them down her legs, over her knees and past her ankles, then threw them on the floor.

Selina closed her eyes. He kissed the inside of her thigh and she quivered. She let out a sigh as he settled between her legs. He kissed her first, taking his time, then his tongue slipped between her folds. She arched her back and buried her hands in his hair. His touch was light and sensitive. He teased her, his soft, wet tongue stroking her with a feather light touch.

It wasn’t long before she was moaning and begging for more. Michael knew what he was doing. He knew exactly what it would take to drive her wild. Her breaths were coming in short bursts. Her hands were balled up into fists as she clutched the blankets.

“Yes, Michael, yes,” she moaned. In response, Michael shifted his position, pulling her ever closer. Her body was out of control, writhing beneath him, desperate for more of his touch. He was keeping her just on the edge of release, teasing her relentlessly. Her breath hitched as she sobbed out the word “yes”.

He pulled away from her and she gasped, missing his touch the moment it was gone.

He kissed her neck and chest. She could feel his erection on her inner thigh. It was straining to reach her.

“I get so turned on when I hear you say my name like that,” he whispered into her ear. She couldn’t take it anymore. She pushed on his chest, pushing him off her and onto his back. He smiled up at her as she straddled him.

She could feel every inch of him as he entered her. She threw her head back as she sunk lower onto him, as he filled her up.

“Selina, yes,” Michael said as she began to move back and forth on top of him. She lay down on his chest, focusing on her hips as they took him in and then released him. His hands were gripping her hips, urging her on, and she could hear his desperate gasps as he thrust to meet her.

He was entering her at just the right angle. With every thrust he slid along her clit, making goosebumps appear on her skin. She forgot where she was. She forgot everything that had happened that morning. All that existed was him and her, together, now. This pleasure, these moments of ecstasy, were all that mattered.

They moved in a perfect harmony, touching each other in just the right places. Selina’s orgasm was building up inside of her. Electricity surged through her veins as a bolt of pleasure shot through her. She whispered his name and he grabbed her tighter as they both continued to move.

It was becoming too much. She was just on the edge; pleasure was pumping through her body. She writhed on top of Michael, taking all of him in before letting him all the way out and then taking him in again. Their slow rhythm was speeding up. Their pleasure was a frenzy between them as they both moaned loudly. Her face was buried in his neck, she grabbed his shoulders as her body tensed, and then a wave of pleasure crashed down on top of her.

She screamed out his name, her body convulsing on top of his, and with a few final thrusts that pushed deep into her, Michael finished as well. They lay with each other, taking gasping breaths and finding their
way down to earth.

  Chapter Five

It had been a week since the full moon. Things had returned to normal surprisingly quickly. It was just her and Michael.

“We should take a trip somewhere, maybe Paris or Istanbul,” Michael said.

“OK,” Selina said, with a laugh.

  “What’s so funny?”

“Nothing, just the idea of a casual trip to Europe sounds a little crazy to someone like me.”

“Well, it shouldn’t,” Michael said. “Besides, we’ve already been to London and you loved that trip.”

It had been a surprise gift for their six-month anniversary. First class tickets and a beautiful hotel suite overlooking the London Eye. At night the ferris wheel was lit up in multicolored lights, and they made love under its glow. That had been the trip where Michael had explained what he was.

“A werewolf?” Selina asked. They were laying naked on the bed, a tray of room service delivered strawberries and champagne next to them. “You’re messing with me,” she had said. She knew it was all too good to be true. Michael wasn’t some rich, handsome millionaire who was into her, it was all just some elaborate prank or some weird sex thing.

“I’m not messing with you,” he said, with a shake of his head. “When I was fifteen years old I snuck out of the house to go party with some friends.” His face grew sad at the memory. “The party was at an abandoned weather station far back in the woods. We partied and drank and sometime around midnight I needed to piss. I stepped outside and walked towards the woods, looking for somewhere private.

“It was so dark and I smelled him before I saw him. This wild, fetid smell, and then a growl. I freaked out, starting screaming and ran back to the weather station, but he was so much faster than I was. He was on me in a second, his teeth ripping into my leg.”

She looked down and saw the dents from a long ago struggle with some wild beast. She could almost count the teeth marks in his skin. She didn’t know what to think or believe, but she knew she loved him. She traced her fingers along the scar and he continued.

“Thankfully, my buddies heard me screaming and came out. They attacked the wolf and he ran away. I was rushed to the hospital, cleaned up and stitched up, and I thought that was the end of it. But then I began to feel different. I could smell things I’d never smelled before. I could see perfectly at night.

“Then the full moon came. I thought I was dying. I can only thank God that no one was home when I changed. I woke up naked in the middle of the forest, scared and confused. I told my father what happened and then...we just figured it out from there.

“I’m telling you this because I love you. I don’t want there to be any secrets between us. I don’t want to have to lie to you about where I am on the night of the full moon. What we have is real to me, Selina. I love you. I want you to know the real me.”

“I don’t...” she shook her head. “I don’t know what I’m supposed to say to all this.”

He stood up from the bed and walked towards the center of their opulent rooms. “Just don’t scream,” he said. “I won’t hurt you.”

Selina pulled the covers up over her, suddenly wishing she was fully dressed. She stared at him, unsure of what was happening. He transformed right there in the room in front of her. She watched horrified, her mouth hanging open in a silent scream. When the wolf emerged she pushed herself back on the bed, pressing her body against the headboard in a desperate bid to create distance between her and it.

The wolf was huge, massive, far larger than the ones she had seen at the zoo, with thick dark hair streaked with white on its chest. Its claws clicked against the hardwood floor of their suite as it walked slowly towards her. She was shaking with fear; tears were swimming in her eyes.

The wolf came over to her and then to her surprise, he nosed her hand, pushing his head against it.

“Michael?” she whispered, as she stared at the animal.

He tilted his head to the side and leaned into her touch. She carefully, gently put her hand on his head and scratched him behind the ears. His tail thumped, and then he jumped up onto the bed with her so she could scratch his belly.

“It’s only dangerous on the night of the full moon,” he explained later, when he was his normal human self. “The rest of the time I’m in complete control. You have to promise not to tell anyone.”

  “I won’t,” she said quickly. “I won’t tell anyone, ever. I promise.”

He fell back in bed and said, “I’ve never told anyone this. The only people who know are my mother and father, and now...you.”

“What an illustrious club,” she said, rolling over and leaning against his chest.

He laughed and kissed the top of her head. She leaned against him, feeling his steady heartbeat in his chest. “Whatever happened to the wolf that bit you?” She asked.

He shook his head, “I don’t know. Never found out. I just know that I don’t ever want to hurt anyone like he did. I don’t want to give this curse to anyone else.”

The memory flashed through her mind and she reached over and squeezed his hand where it rested on the stick shift.

“I love Paris,” she said. “I’m not going to say no to a trip.”

“That’s why I love you,” he said with a smile.

It was ironic that she caught a stomach bug that day. She felt sick, nauseous and even threw up once. It was like a blanket of exhaustion had been thrown over her. She was tired the entire day and no amount of coffee would wake her up. She did her best to ignore the perky Lois as she bounced from office to office. Feeling sick, with her hair in a messy bun, Selina decided that she could just not deal with her, so she went home.

She took the elevator down to the garage, her stomach churning the whole way. She got off and headed to her car, seeing the shining Lexus in her spot in the corner. At first, she thought it had to have been a trick of the light. But when she got closer, she could see it very clearly. The words “fat slut” had been scratched, in giant letters, along the driver’s side length of her car. The scratches went down through the paint into the metal itself, denting her perfect, lovely car.

Selina whipped her head around, but the garage was empty and silent. She looked back at her car as a flush crept up her cheeks. It had to be someone she knew, that was her only guess. The insult was too personal for it to be a random vandal. She wondered if it could possibly be the same person who had trashed her car the last time, but she dismissed that thought immediately. Selina didn’t have any enemies. She didn’t have anyone she hated or anyone who had cause to hate her.

She drove the car to the nearest auto body detailer. The mechanic took a moment to let out a loud whistle as he ran a finger down the scratch marks.

“You have no idea who did this?” He asked.

  She shook her head.

“You should call the police, I think,” the man replied. But she remembered going to the police the last time her car had been vandalized. They had brushed off her concerns and dismissed her with a line about teenagers and a reminder that this was what insurance was for.

She tried to forget about it, but Michael didn’t make it easy. He called his security company angrily demanding to know exactly what he was paying for, since an intruder had caused serious damage to a car in his company's garage just that morning and no alarms had gone off.

“Just forget about it,” Selina begged, as she sat wrapped up in a blanket sipping ginger ale on the couch. “Come and sit with me.” She took the phone out of his hands and placed it out of his reach. She rested her head on his shoulder, but she could still feel his seething anger.

“Don’t worry about it,” she said. “It’s probably just a former employee with a grudge. It’ll be all fixed up by tomorrow, and then we never have to think about it again.”

“We haven't had to let anyone go in five years,” Michael replied, shaking his head.

Five days passed. Her car was fixed and Michael did his best to forget the transaction. It took her th
ose five whole days to finally realize what was happening. She was sick, her breasts were sore and she was six days late. Under the harsh glow of fluorescent lights she scanned the shelves of the pharmacy, wondering which pregnancy test was the best one. Finally, she grabbed the most expensive one and brought it home.

She and Michael had discussed kids, but it had been a far off thing. Something that would happen years and years into the future. It wasn’t supposed to happen now. They had been careful, but she knew that sometimes careful wasn’t enough. Sitting on the closed toilet seat she looked at the timer on her phone. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Her leg jiggled nervously next to her. She wanted this, she did. It was early, but early didn’t mean bad.

What about Michael being a werewolf? Would that change anything? Would the baby be ok? There was no one for them to ask. Michael had never encountered another werewolf before. He had no idea what the rules were. Unsurprisingly, the internet was no help. There were lots of articles and blogs from people who thought they were wolves, people who were physically attracted to wolves and people who liked to dress up like wolves during sex. But nothing from a real werewolf.

There was nothing to do but wait and hope for the best.

The timer rang out. It was jarring and loud, echoing around the beautiful bathroom. For a moment, she couldn’t move. She was frozen in place. Looking at the test would change everything. Nothing would be the same. They weren’t married. People would think the worst of her. They would think that she had tricked him into getting her pregnant for his money. They wouldn’t believe it was an accident.

She needed to see. She was never the kind of person who avoided truth or ran from conflict. She faced her problems head-on. Her mother used to tell her that running never solved anything.

A plus sign shone up at her. There was a roaring in her ears and her heart started to pound. She picked up the test, her jaw hanging open. It was true. She was pregnant. She laughed, a full, honest, sweet laugh.
