“Now, everybody out of my hotel room, please,” I say, looking at each of them in turn. “I’m tried, and I want to take a bath and go to sleep. We can all have breakfast together tomorrow, but after that I’m checking out and doing my own thing. Goodnight, everybody!”

I turn around, sit at the desk, and open my laptop. “You, too, Chance,” I say when I catch him in the mirror lingering. He laughs, shoves his hands into his jeans pockets, and leaves.

Chance watches as I squeeze the last of my clothes into my suitcase. I have to get on top of it to shut it.

“Did you really have to bring so much shit?”

“It’s not shit, Chance. This is my stuff.”

  “You over-packed.”

I scowl at him, even though I know he’s right. “So what? It’s not like I expect you to carry it for me.”

He laughs, and when I catch his eyes, I laugh, too.

“Like you would do that,” I say.

“So, what’s our plan for today?”

  “Our plan?”

  “Oh, stop pretending, Cass.”

“I was going to go and visit the main campus of LSE. You’re welcome to tag along.”

  “Tag along?”

“Uh uh,” I sound, raising my chin at him. I grin. “Tickle your fancy?”

He shrugs in a non-committal way, but I know we’ll go together.

“Can you believe this actually worked?” I ask as we leave the room. He holds the door open for me.

“Not really. I didn’t think you had it in you to blow up at your dad like that.”

  “Me neither,” I murmur.

“Oh, well, it worked. Oh, I got a rental.”

  “What?” I ask. “When?”

“This morning, before breakfast. So we won’t have to take a cab.”

“They drive on the left here, you know. Think you can hack it?”

  He just scoffs.

  “What car is it?”

  “Focus RS.”

I blink, wondering why I even asked. I don’t know what that is. Just as the door is shutting behind us, I stick my foot in the gap.

“Hold on, I forgot my watch.”

I run into the room, grab it off the desk, and catch a glimpse at the top of the trash can. There’s a cigarette pack there, and the lid is open, and I can see there are still cigarettes in the box.

  I smile.

“Come on,” I say to Chance, taking my suitcase and pulling it quickly behind me. “Let’s go have some fun.”

  From the Author

If you've made it this far, then truthfully I am glad. First please let me thank you for buying/borrowing/downloading this book and reading it. If you enjoyed the story, I would very much be grateful if you could leave a review for myself and others to read. I'm always keen on hearing what my readers think!

Chance Her Stepbrother is the longest work I've written, and a little outside the norm of what I typically write and enjoy. Taboo erotica is kind of my thing but after reading a few fantastic stepbrother stories, I wanted to explore the subgenre myself.

I very much hope you enjoyed the story, and were able to invest yourself in Cassie and Chance's growth. I definitely relate to Cassie quite a lot, and inspiration for Chance came, believe it or not, from my brother. Is that weird? I don't know.

If you have any feedback or would like to get in touch with me, you can email me anytime at [email protected]. I don't have a social media presence, but I do check my email.
