It only made him love her more.
She cuddled into his chest as he wrapped his arms around her body to hug her. After a while, she finally spoke. “Do you want dinner?” she asked.
Justin grinned. “Where do you want to order from?”
“I was going to make it for us.”
Now, he was even happier. “That works for me. I can cook, but I prefer to watch a beautiful woman do it for me.”
That she found funny, because it was totally chauvinistic. “Come on.”
Justin let her lead him into her kitchen. He sat at the island and watched her move around her space. It was all very wifely.
When she handed him a beer and slipped into an apron, his heart pounded.
Yeah, he could get used to this.
“What are you making?” he asked, as he chugged the cold brew to cool down the building heat.
“I was going to make burgers. Is that okay?”
Now, it was his turn to laugh. “Baby, that’s more than okay. That’s perfect.”
Chapter Fourteen
She didn't say anything all the way home from the bar, or as they walked through the office. It was a little unnerving to say the least. Tori was generally pretty open and honest with her feelings, but Julian was getting the distinct impression that she was keeping something bottled up.
He didn't want her to hurt or be angry, and yet he wasn’t quite sure how to approach the subject.
As the elevator opened, and they entered the apartment, the tension was even thicker.
“Honey, are you mad at me?” he finally asked, dying to know what was eating away at his wife.
When she turned, the look on her face was something he’d never quite seen before. It stole his breath, as she pulled the ponytail from her hair and stalked towards him.
Tori stared at her husband hungrily. Watching another woman hit on him had pissed her off and made her crazy, all at the same time. It took everything in her to stay calm and not climb all over him in some sexual frenzy in the car. Now that they were home, he was free game.
Julian actually took a step back as she moved into his personal space. “Tori.” It was the only word he could get out, as the woman he loved pounced. Her mouth was on his so fast that he stumbled backwards with her pressed against his body.
Thank God there was a wall behind him or they would have landed on the floor.
Tori wanted to climb into his body and show him exactly what she was feeling for him. There would never be a man who would ever make her this wild with need.
Julian was the catalyst that set her off from day one.
There was just something about him.
When her hands yanked his shirt apart, and buttons went flying, a low moan escaped from low in his belly. The need in him was clawing its way from deep within to get to the woman pressed against him.
It wanted her.
It needed her.
It was dying to be free.
“Tori,” he moaned again, as she moved to his neck and nipped his flesh. “Too many clothes,” he muttered as her hands got incredibly busy and slid down his torso to the button on his pants. “Oh God,” he whispered, as her one hand worked on getting him free while the other was busy stroking him through the fabric.
“I want you now, Julian,” she replied, as she finally got the button open.
“Take what you want,” he begged. “Just please don’t stop.” He never wanted this to end. The feeling of his wife driving the sex was so erotic and hot. He loved feeling her hands all over him.
As he finally got his balance and stood, she freed him from his pants. Slowly, his skin burned in a trail of fire as her lips moved downward.
“You taste so good, Jules,” she whispered, as she blew across his erection, just to watch it bob.
“Stop teasing me, Victoria,” he ordered.
She stared up at him from her knees. Whenever he called her that, it meant that he was close to the edge and the sex was about to get very wild. As if to be defiant, she blew again, almost daring him to stop her.
Before he could say another word, she took him in her warm mouth and began to stake her claim. “Oh God,” he hissed, as her lips and hands worked in tandem to push him to the edge of madness. There was no doubt in his mind that his wife was going to drive him crazy.
And he was more than okay with that.
Occasionally, she’d flick her eyes up to his face, to gauge his level of need. What she saw there would determine if she pushed harder or backed off.
Then, she pictured the woman flirting with him, and she wanted to prove a point.
He was hers.
What they had was sacred.
When she cupped him, his hand went to her hair, and he moaned. “You need to stop,” he warned, unable to actually make her end the torture. It felt too damn good.
When he shook, she found great satisfaction.
Julian opened his eyes, despite his better judgment and stared down at her. His wife captivated his heart. It would only beat for her.
Breaking away, she stood and watched him breath as if he had just run a marathon. “I want so much more,” she whispered, as she began unbuttoning her own shirt while he watched her.
Beneath, she had some lacy concoction that he’d bought her for Christmas. She hadn’t had the chance to wear it yet, and wanted to surprise him.
When he saw the black and red lace, his heart beat even faster. “Oh shit,” he muttered, as she dropped her shirt onto the floor. Her hands went to her pants and she had them open and unzipped in seconds.
“Where do you want to end up, Julian?” she asked, as she watched him stare at her motions. It was like he was trapped in the eroticism, helpless to look away.
He couldn’t think. Julian was too enraptured by the tiny little scrap of lace that he had picked out for her. To be honest, he really believed that she hated it, and that’s why she never wore it.
Now he knew the truth. Tori was just saving it to torture him.
Thank God!
When he didn't reply, she didn't care either. What she really wanted was to feel her body over his, as she took what she wanted. Tonight, she wanted to find pleasure in the man she had married. Moving towards Julian, she was back against him and her lips were claiming ownership. Her hands slid into his hair, and she locked them together, mouth to mouth, until the storm passed.
Julian needed to find relief, and soon. He walked them backwards to the couch and tumbled down into the cushions. When his wife landed on top, he was more than ready to give her anything that she wanted.
Including his soul.
Tori was desperate to just feel him buried in her body, she didn't even remove the panties she was wearing. Pulling them aside, she slid him into the welcoming warmth.
Finally, he was home at last.
“Victoria,” he whispered, “I love you.”
His words heated her blood more. “You’re mine, Jules, and only mine,” she stated, as she began to move.
He wouldn’t argue with that. There could be no one like his Victoria Rose. “Your name is written on my heart,” he said, as her palms were braced on his chest, over his tattoo, as she rode him.
“Mine, Julian.”
He gave her back the words to prove it was reciprocal. “You’re mine, Victoria.”
The pleasure was overwhelming as her body shook around his. Tori knew that she couldn’t last much longer. The scent, feel, and touch of her husband was driving her to the edge. When she shattered apart, Tori knew that her husband would be there to catch her.
Time stopped as the spiral of colors pulled her under and then finally set her free. As she surfaced, he was staring into her eyes. The desire and need that she found there, made her want him even more.
“My turn, Tori,” he murmured, as he pushed them both up from the couch and carried his wife to their bedroom.
Instinctually, she wrapped her legs around his waist and held on. As he held her, she left a trail of kisses down his ne
ck and throat. His scent called to her, and she wanted to never forget this moment.
Tori saved the memories, as something to cherish forever, deep within her heart.
Julian placed his wife in the center of their bed, and for a moment, he stared down into her eyes. “I love you, Victoria.”
Before she could reply, he slid deep into her body and began offering her more pleasure. The pace had changed, his wife had worked off the tension, and now Julian wanted to give her what lived deep in him.
Undying love for his soul mate.
“Oh, Jules,” she practically purred, as he hit every spot perfectly. Staring up into his eyes, she found the love of her life.
Words escaped him, as he swore his heart began beating with hers in syncopation.
This was what it was all about in life.
It was about finding that one person who made you feel this way. She was his miracle.
“Tori,” he whispered, as he leaned down to slowly draw more passion from her with his mouth. Julian kissed her thoroughly as his own body shook in need.
He was close.
Sliding deeply into her, he threw back his head as he felt her shake around him. As his wife tumbled, he fell with her.
Together.
As one.
Julian knew that wherever this journey led them, they would handle it together.
Tori cuddled into his body, and ran her hands over his back. “I don’t want to move,” she said softly.
Julian rolled to his side and pulled his wife to his chest. “Then don’t, honey. Stay in my arms.”
She closed her eyes and let the bliss pull her in. The last thought Tori had was that she was the luckiest woman alive.
Saturday Morning
It would be nice to have a day off from work, but he knew that wasn’t happening. As Justin lay there in bed with Vivian, he really wanted to spend most of the day right there, and then the evening securing her into his life forever.
After all, Saturdays were meant for lounging around, weren’t they? Yeah, that was true unless you had one dead woman, one who was still missing, and one who had the dreams that were key to leading you to the lost.
Today, they were all working.
In fact, the entire weekend was going to involve work, unless he could bribe his brother for some down time.
As the bed shifted, Justin could tell that Vivian was finally awake. Her hand was making lazy circles on his abs and her breathing had picked up.
“Morning,” she said, sleepily.
Justin rolled to his side to face her. It was a new thing to wake up with a woman in bed. Back home, he’d bring them to his cabin, and then kick them out by dawn.
He didn't want anyone in bed with him if a nightmare clawed its way to the surface. In those moments, he needed to be alone. Now with Vivian, he never wanted to go to bed by himself or wake that way either. Deep in his heart, he believed that if a nightmare were to find him, that she would be his lifeline back.
He’d found his permanent bed partner.
“Morning, baby.”
Vivian was thoroughly enjoying the morning, as she woke beside Justin. After dinner, they had fallen into bed and made love until who knew when. It was fiery, passionate, and full of heat. She never wanted it to end.
Now, there was the reality of morning and work. “Is it wrong that I don’t want to get up?” she asked, looking up at him.
He laughed. “I was just thinking the same thing.”
“Today shouldn’t be too long of a day, unless another woman has been taken,” she reassured. Part of her prayed that if there was another, it was during the day while she was awake. It would be nice to skip these nightmares for a while.
“What do you have to do today?” he asked, evenly. What he wanted to say was ‘keep your ass inside and safe’, but he knew better than to throw that out there.
“I’m going to head into the morgue. I know I can’t get the official autopsy report, but I do know a few people down there and I might weasel a cause of death from them.”
He kissed her on the tip of her nose.
“Then,” she cuddled closer to his body. “I have to run Viktor Demetriev.”
Justin didn't miss a beat, “I’d love to run him down with my truck.”
She giggled. “Is that so?”
“Yes,” he replied, as he left a trail of kisses across her face. “How adventurous are you?” he asked, suddenly.
Vivian started laughing. “In what reference? Are we talking sex or life in general?”
That piqued his interest. “I was talking about life, but since you brought up sex…”
She slapped him, and he started laughing.
“I know this is really bad timing, but I want to abduct you tonight.”
She stared at him. “You realize it’s not abduction if you warn the person and give them time to get away.”
Justin grinned at her. “Yeah, well I like a challenge. Can you meet me here around five, and then let me blindfold you?”
She placed her body over his. “This is sounding more and more like sex.”
“Yeah, there’s going to be sex, but not until later in the evening. I have something planned, and it’s going to shock the hell out of you.”
She considered it. “Hmmm, okay, Mr. Littlemoon. I’ll be here on time, unless we have another report come in. Unfortunately, that supersedes your blindfolded sex games.”
Vivian kissed him, and then rolled off his body. “I’m going to shower. Will you please lock the door when you leave?” she asked, walking away before he could answer.
Justin didn't like the feeling of being dismissed. It looked like it was time to show his girl that it wasn’t going to exactly work like that.
He gave her a few minutes, and then headed into the shower after her.
“Justin! We have to get to work!” she exclaimed, as he jumped in behind her and proceeded to get them both soapy.
“I’ll have you know, Vivian, sex in the shower is considered work, and I’m ready to get started.”
She just laughed and gave in, because she was that crazy about him.
Tori and Julian strolled into work holding hands. Where they couldn’t do that in a normal office, when you were the boss, it was your way or the highway.
At the coffee machine, he stole a few more kisses and whispered in his wife’s ear about what he wanted to do later when work was done.
Julian was hoping to cut out at a decent time today, unless they had more information coming in on Melissa. Unfortunately, it appeared that this case was stalling.
What they needed was something to get it moving again, or he knew it was dead in the water. It wasn’t going to be easy to work this without making everyone aware that the abductions were connected, but they had to try.
It was time for a little miracle.
“Hey, are you two busy?” Kane said from the doorway.
“That depends on your perspective,” he replied.
Tori grinned over at Kane and elbowed Julian. “We’re available. What did you find?” she asked, leading her husband from the room. When he patted her on the ass, she ignored him.
“Chrissy and I looked over the phone records for Melissa Lagerfeld.”
“Okay,” Julian stated, taking a seat beside his wife. “Did you find anything?”
“Yes and no. We found out that Brock Edwards was still calling Melissa. We think that he was stalking her.”
“What?” Tori asked. That definitely had her attention. “What gives you that impression?”
Christina took over for Kane, “Look at the duration of the calls. He was calling almost every hour, on the hour, and they lasted less than a minute.”
“So, she would answer and tell him kiss off.” Tori found that interesting.
“Also, look at her texts,” Christina said. “She received over eight hundred in one month.”
Tori wasn’t getting it. “I get a lot of texts too. Julian sends me ones from his office when I’m in
the next room, just to send me a smiley face.”
They started laughing.
“Sue me, I’m a romantic,” he muttered.
Christina clarified, “Yeah, but look at her outgoing number of texts. The quantity isn’t even. I’m betting when Julian sends you a message, you reply, right?”
She thought about it. “Yeah, I always do.”
“She only sent three hundred and twenty texts.”
“That’s less than half,” Tori stated. “She was blowing his messages off and not talking to him more than turning the call on and shutting it off.”
Christina nodded. “Or she was dumping it in voicemail.”
“That looks like stalking to me,” stated Julian. “That gives us a person to focus on for now.”
Tori thought about it. “Kane, did you and Christina have breakfast?”
He looked at his boss like she’d lost her mind. “Uh, no, we aren’t breakfast eaters. We just have coffee, why?”
“There’s a coffee shop right next to the paramedic building, and I’m betting that’s where they hang out when they’re not on duty or there isn’t a call. Maybe you should go eat there.”
He still stared at her.
Christina giggled and took his hand in hers. “She’s telling us to go sit there and eavesdrop.”
“Oh,” he said, grinning. “I can go sit with Chrissy and drink coffee all morning. This job has some really great perks.”
Julian checked out his wife’s ass in her jeans. “Yeah, it does,” he stated.
That had his wife’s attention, and she blew him a kiss.
As if he timed it once more, Justin wandered in, just as his brother was staring lecherously at Tori. “Really? This is the first thing I get to see when I come to work?”
Tori laughed and dropped a kiss on top of Julian’s head.
“Hey, I’m the boss, so I get to sexually harass my office mates.”
That earned him a punch.
“What?” he said, rubbing his arm. “I’m allowed to harass you!”
She poured Justin coffee and more for herself. “It wasn’t the harassing part that got you slugged, Jules. It was the plural on ‘office mates’ that pissed me off. Do I have to teach you a lesson like last night?”
